CHAPTER EIGHTY-TWO
Website where all photos of all outfits mentioned is on my profile. Did anyone else see the photos of Charlie in a Challenger? The man I dream about in the car I dream about...mmm Yummy.
The morning brings two very excited children dressed and ready to go to the theme park just after 9am, Jax, Opie and Juice looking just as excited while Happy seems to have the expression of the exasperated adult of the group. I can almost hear his voice telling them they have to have breakfast before they can go, but given that we're all seated at a long table already eating that doesn't happen.
Donna leans across the table and drops a brochure beside my plate "That's where I want to go. Cam rang them last night and they can fit us in at 1030."
"And we don't even have to leave the hotel." I reply with a shrug "That works for me."
The 6 adults and three children head off to the theme park just after 10 when the kids, and the overgrown kids, can't sit still anymore. Watching them load into the cars in minutes makes me laugh as Donna points out it's impossible to get the twins that organised that quickly normally.
Heading back inside Donna points the way to the spa "So Cam booked us both in for facials, massages and pedicures, it's meant to take about 3 hours."
I nod "So we'll be done at 130, in time for food then a movie. Cause we both know that they won't be back till at least 5. And it means that you and I get to pick where we eat tonight."
Donna grins and nods "I know that was part of the plan too."
When everyone else arrives back at the hotel just before 6pm that night Donna and I are in her room with the TV playing the end of a movie that we'd both giggled our way through, re-watching one of our favourite movies from when we were younger had us both laughing at how we'd wished to be witches, and the pure irony of the main characters name being Sarah.
Jax sets a napping Abel down in my arms where he immediately nuzzles into my neck and goes back to sleep. Inhaling the smell coming off his skin I lift my eyebrow "Why does he smell like cotton candy." Sniffing again "And popcorn?"
Jax chuckles "Cause we may have been using the pushchair as storage for the food the kids didn't eat and he fell asleep on the bag of cotton candy. Popcorn I can't explain sorry."
I roll my eyes and get to my feet slowly "Dinner reservations are in 30 minutes. Be ready to leave here in 10."
Jax follows me down to our room at the other end of the hall "Where are we going?"
Glancing over my shoulder at him I grin "You'll see."
Donna and I lead the three cars to our restaurant of choice for the night, which in all honesty had been picked by Donna the second she saw the ad on the revolving screen in the reception of the spa we'd gone to. Parking the cars Happy is the first one out of the cars, a huge grin on his face as he looks up at the sign.
"Excellent, a dessert dinner." He says, rubbing his hand over the top of his head "After chasing rug rats around today I'm starved."
Juice nods as he gets out of the car and quietly waits for Al to exit as well before closing the door of the Escalade. "Those kids have more energy than they know what to do with."
Opie chuckles, watching as the kids in question run straight for the menu that's hanging by the door. Kenny's eyes are huge when he turns around "They have a s'mores cheesecake. Daddy can I have that?"
Opie rolls his eyes towards Donna "Sugar high, your fault." Looking back at Kenny he shrugs "Don't know buddy. You'll have to eat proper dinner first."
Donna brushes past everyone, pulling the door open and waving her hand "Forwards march. I'm hungry."
I snicker as I step past her "Someone's parasite biting?"
Donna swats at my arm but I dodge out of her reach as she laughs "I had a salad for lunch."
"Sure you did D. Just the huge amount of chicken and garlic bread you had with it probably should have kept you full till next week."
Being shown to a table in the back the first thing Al does when she sits down is laugh "Least there's no women undressing the guys."
Juice narrows his eyes at her "No, instead there was a guy who looked like he wanted to take a bite out of your ass."
Al keeps laughing as she reaches over and links her fingers through Juice's with a smile "You know the only one that's allowed anywhere near my ass is you honey."
Juice grins and nods at the same time as the rest of the guys start laughing.
Because I'd asked when we rang after we've all ordered drinks and before any of us can pick up our menus I pull the jar of Abel's baby food out of my bag and pass it to the waiter, asking if it can be heated and brought with the starters.
He nods, noting it down on his page and telling us he'll be back in a few minutes with drinks. Depositing them all around the table he apologises when he gives Al's vodka and lemonade to Donna and Donna's lemonade to Al. They both wave his apologies off with a laugh.
"An order of 10 and you got two the wrong way round. Doesn't matter." Donna says with a smile "Can we have another few minutes to look at the menu."
He walks away and Opie shakes his head "Why do I feel like something's going to be wrong on them all."
Donna glares at him for a second "Give the guy a break. You four aren't exactly easy to approach you know."
Opie frowns in confusion "What?"
Donna waves her hand around the table "Think about it. Four gorgeous women who are sitting quietly, three kids, two of whom were quite seriously talking to Uncle Jax and Uncle Happy, even if their conversation was regarding cheesecake flavours, and four men in patches."
Cam and Al exchange a look and start giggling "Egotistical much, four gorgeous women?" Cam says with amusement
Donna pokes her tongue out at them and then smirks "Fine, two gorgeous women and two New Yorkers."
"Hey!" Cam says her expression turning serious for a split second before she laughs again "We'll stick with the first one."
When the waiter returns to the table Donna starts, lifting her menu in front of her with a grin at the kids "They'll share an order of the Fried Mac and Cheese, then the Fish and Chips. Can we please have two small empty plates with their mains? Then Kenny, that's the boy, wants the toasted s'mores cheesecake. Ellie wants the snickers one. Any they don't eat we can take away can't we?" The waiter nods and Donna grins "Sweet. Now, I'll have the Parmesan-Garlic cheese bread and then the farfalle with chicken and garlic and a Hersey's chocolate bar cheesecake."
Donna drops her menu on the table, ignoring the looks from everyone in favour of smiling at the kids "You eat all your food before you get dessert though."
Both of them nod, truth be told neither of them will have an issue with that, mac and cheese is one of their favourite foods and they both agree that fish and chips are perfect all the time.
Opie shrugs, ordering his Southern Fried chicken sliders and then a BBQ pulled pork sandwich and in a surprise a wild blueberry and white chocolate cheesecake with barely a glance at the menu.
Happy grins as he orders nachos and chicken and biscuits then surprises us as well by ordering a white chocolate caramel macadamia nut cheesecake that makes Cam grin and glance back at her menu. Modifying her dessert to a Godiva chocolate cheesecake she pairs that with firecracker salmon and spicy cashew chicken explaining that she feels like spicy food.
Al nods enthusiastically, her buffalo wings requested with no blue cheese, then white chicken chili proving she's just as much craving spicy food. Following that with a key lime cheesecake she leans back and picks up her drink with a grin "Yum yum."
Juice chuckles through his order of Tex mex eggrolls, meatloaf and chocolate mousse cheesecake.
Turning his attention to Jax and I the waiter flicks a page and poises his pen. Ignoring Al and Cam's whispers I modify my meals so that Abel can have little bits, ordering a Quesadilla with no chilli, then fettuccini Alfredo and a chocolate chip cookie-dough cheesecake.
As I order my dessert Al grins at Cam "Told you! You owe me 20 bucks."
Cam sighs and hands her a note, looking over at me "Could you not have gone for something different?"
Shaking my head I shrug "You know me, anything with cookie dough has my attention."
Jax completes our huge order with buffalo blasts, shepherd's pie and a chocolate tuxedo cream cheesecake before the waiter disappears and he turns to me "You still have an unhealthy obsession with cookie dough and cookies and cream?"
I shrug "I might."
Al snorts and Cam leans forward, dropping her head into her hand as she rests her elbows on the table "You might. You're the one that filled one entire cupboard in the kitchen with nothing but cookie dough bites, cookies and cream chocolate and biscuits. Not to mention the whole shelf of the freezer which was devoted to cookies and cream ice cream and unbaked dough that you froze 'just in case'. You mastered the art of freezer to mouth for a cookie in less than 10 minutes, and that included baking."
My face heats up with a blush as she keeps talking. Lifting her eyebrow she taps her finger on the wooden table in front of her "Do I not remember you creating both an alcoholic cookies and cream cocktail and a non-alcoholic one and then putting it on the menu at Keens?"
I nod and open my mouth but she shakes her head "Nah. You might have an addiction to shoes, but you definitely have an addiction to anything cookies and cream or cookie dough."
Donna leans back in her chair and grabs my attention by reaching over the back of Kenny's chair and tapping my shoulder "Tell me about this booze free cocktail."
AN: Now I'm going to hold the next chapter to ransom. I want at least 5 reviews. Tell me something you loved, something you hated, something you wish I'd changed or done differently. Someone you want me to add, a scene you'd like me to put a spin on. I'm struggling a little getting back into my writing groove and could do with some imput please. *begging face*
