Tohru and Kyo walked to his room and Kyo started to pace. Tohru watched him pace back and forth. She could feel the anger radiating off of him. "Do you want to talk about it?" asked Tohru. "There's nothing to talk about. I'm not going."

Tohru looked at him and nodded. "Okay, Shigure said that you didn't have to go." Kyo stopped and looked at her. "But you're going to go?" Tohru looked down and nodded. Kyo looked at her and sat next to her.

"Why?" She looked at him. "I have forgiven her." Kyo shook his head. "I don't understand how you could." Tohru shrugged. "I don't know. I just have. I forgive her for what she has done." Kyo shook his head.

He started to pace again. "I'm not asking or telling you that your feelings for Akito aren't valid. Akito has hurt you in ways that I will never know. And I understand that. But I think it may help you to hear what she has to say."

Kyo stopped and looked at her. "No. I never want to see her again. I never want to breathe the same air as her. She took so much from me Tohru. She killed you. I held you in my arms. And I never want to feel that way again."

Tohru nodded. "I understand. But I wish to go and hear what she has to say. I want to hear what she wants to say. Believe me, I haven't forgotten what she's done. She killed me. And she hurt those I love. She made me say goodbye to my mom again. I may have forgiven her. But I haven't forgotten. And I just don't want this to be over your head for the rest of your life."

"You keep saying that you want to find yourself and you want to be happy. I think if you skip this you may live wondering what was said. Im hoping that she can help you with your closure." Kyo looked at her.

"I can't, Tohru. She's taken too much from me. It's not even what she did to me. Tormenting me. Getting pleasure at the thought of locking me up for the rest of my life. It was what she did to you. She tortured and killed you. Your bloody body still haunts me. I still have nightmares of finding you in that room."

Tohru reached and caressed his cheek. "I'm sorry. I didn't know that it still bothered you so much. I didn't know anything about nightmares. But I understand why you feel the way that you feel. But I am still going to go."

Kyo nodded. "Okay." Tohru kissed the side of his head. "I love you, Kyo." she said softly. Kyo smiled. "I love you too, Tohru."

Tohru sat anxiously in the car with Shigure and Yuki. "The stupid cat couldn't be bothered to come?" asked Yuki. Tohru looked at him. "He couldn't bring himself to come. He said that too much has happened. He doesn't want to hear whatever Akito has to say."

Yuki sighed. "I don't blame him honestly." Tohru looked at him with surprise. "When Akito killed you, Ms. Honda, something changed in Kyo. He was different. That light that you lit in him was snuffed out. It was like in that moment that Akito killed you, all of the progress that he had went away."

Tohru continued to look at Yuki. "He blamed himself for the horrible things that Akito said and did to you. He blamed himself for all of it. And when Akito killed you, he couldn't forgive himself. He was ready to kill Akito and be locked away for the rest of his life. He was heartbroken." said Yuki.

Tohru looked at her lap and clasped her hands together. "We have all felt the wrath and the cruelty of Akito." said Yuki. Tohru picked her head up and looked at him. "And despite those horrible things that Akito did to me in that room, I believe that Kyo suffered more." Tohru's eyes widened.

"Kyo lived a life where everyone hated him just because he was the cat spirit. He was blamed for his mother's suicide." Tohru gasped. Kyo had never heard of the manner his mother died. "He was hated by the zodiac. Especially Yuki. He was sneered at and laughed at by the other Somas. And the possibility of being locked away forever was always looming over his head." said Shigure.

Tohru looked at her lap. "But he doesn't blame you for wanting to hear her out. Kyo respects you enough to respect your decisions." Tohru nodded. "I never knew the manner of his mother passing. When I met his father, he just blamed Kyo for her death." Shigure looked at her.

"Kyo's father was very embarrassed about the fact his son was the cat. And his mother was so scared about his true form being seen so she just kept Kyo locked in the house all day. So Kyo wasn't really loved by either of his parents. Or perhaps his mother loved him in the wrong way. Or maybe in her mind, she loved Kyo TOO much."

Tohru looked at Shigure. "I remember the night that I saw his true form, he kept talking about his mother. About if she loved all of him. His bad side and his good side. He would be okay with it." Shigure sighed. "Kyo has always struggled with his mother. Whether or not she loved him for the right reasons or if she loved him because her husband didn't."

"Momiji told me once that the mothers of the zodiac react one of two ways. Either they love the child unconditionally and accept the child. Or they become detached from the child and can't accept them."

"Yeah, Kyo's father couldn't bear the shame of being the father of the zodiac cat. Embarrassed that his son has a monstrous form. And one that was hated by the rest of the Soma Clan." Tohru looked at Shigure.

"And then there was his mother. The one that we still aren't sure about." Tohru looked at her hands. "I remember Kyo told me something. His mother would check his wrist so many times a day, to make sure the beads were on. So perhaps she did love Kyo. But she loved him for the wrong reasons. She loved him despite the fear that she felt for Kyo."

Shigure nodded. "Perhaps. We will never know." Tohru looked at Shigure and nodded. She felt so bad for Kyo. Everyone deserved to be loved by their parents. Despite whether they are a member of the zodiac or not.

The car stopped. They had arrived at the main house. They all walked to the room and joined the rest of the zodiac. "Tohru! You're here!" said Momiji excitedly. Tohru smiled and nodded. She looked over and smiled. Kisa came running over.

"I missed you, Tohru!" said Kisa happily. Tohru smiled and hugged Kisa. "I missed you too. It's good to see you too!" she said, laughing. A door opened and in walked Akito. They all sat down and looked at Akito.

"Thank you all for coming." she said, looking around the room. She looked at Tohru. "I'm assuming that Kyo won't be coming?" asked Akito. Tohru shook her head. Akito sighed. "That's to be expected."

"I called you all here to apologize." They all looked at her with shock. "I am very deeply sorry for how I treated you all. I treated you all so horribly. Tortured you all in unimaginable ways. I've hurt you all. Some mentally and physically."

She turned and looked at Tohru. "And I have killed you." Tohru looked down. "Is that all you're going to say?" asked Rin. They all looked at her. "Just a measly apology after everything that you have done to all of us? Including Tohru."

"You blinded Hatori because he wanted to marry someone. You pushed me from a balcony. You hurt Kisa. You locked Yuki in a room for most of his life. You locked me away! You tortured Kyo with his family situation every day. You threatened to lock him away for the rest of his life! You KILLED Tohru!"

Everyone sat in silence. "And all we get is an apology!? And our bonds broken!? How does that justify or fix the scars that we all bear!? Physical and mental!" Akito looked at Rin. "All I can say is that I am sorry for everything that you all went through and that I'm trying to be a better person."

Rin scoffed and stormed out. Akito looked at the rest of the zodiac. "Along with my apology, I want it to be known that the house of the cat is being torn down. It will never be used again. And again I can only apologize for all the pain and suffering that I have caused everyone. That's all I wanted to say. There is food in the dining room if you would like to stay back and eat." She left the room, Shigure following close behind her."

Tohru sat there and looked at her hands. She agreed with both sides of this. Akito had done horrible things to her and the others. But she was trying to be a better person for the zodiac. "Tohru, are you okay?" asked Kisa. Tohru looked at her and smiled. "Just fine," she said. Kisa smiled back.

Tohru stopped smiling. She walked over to Hatori. "Hatori, I have a question for you." Hatori looked at her. "Would you mind giving me directions to Kyo's father's house?" Hatori's eyes widened.

"He took me there once, but I can't remember how to get back." Hatori looked at her. "Are you sure you want to go without Kyo?" She looked at him, determined. "Yes, it's time his father learns a few things about Kyo." Hatori nodded. "I'll take you there." Tohru nodded.
