Naomi happily ate a dinner of tempura shrimp, fried yellow squash with fried zucchini circles and drank peach juice. There was no dessert. Naomi was grateful since that meant she could go to bed earlier. And that is exactly what she did. Naomi flossed, brushed her teeth, used mouthwash, took a shower, changed into her pajamas, washed her face, used lotion afterwards and went to bed. Naomi woke up at six in the morning, two hours earlier than she normally did.

Must've been cause I went ta bed two hours earlier than I normally do. Naomi thought. Deciding it'd be best to get an early start to her day, she brushed her hair and teeth. Naomi decided she was going to wear a long sleeve blue shirt with a pleated part that ended directly below her chest and had a collar, black pants and her blue boots. Naomi knew the Lyoko warriors would be eating breakfast so she teleported to visit them.

"Hey everybody, how's things?" Naomi greeted happily.

"Today was exhausting. Jim made us all run five miles. And it was all Sissi's fault." Odd ranted.

Sissi was within earshot, so she stormed over to their table.

"If you wouldnt've put cottage cheese in Jim's shoes then none of it would've happened!" Sissi denied.

"I can run faster than you or your mascara. Which will not only run in fear, but because you'll be cryin' your eyes out." Naomi teased.

The others and Naomi cackled. Sissi growled, turned red in the face and stormed back to her table where Nicholas and Herve were sitting.

"That was awesome, how did you come up with that?" Odd asked.

"Well, when you have the line of work I do ya learn pretty quick." Naomi replied.

"Is he still trying to eliminate Gunvolt?" Yumi wondered.

"No more so than usual." Naomi muttered as she ate a bite of double chocolate pancakes with whipped cream and caramel with soft round sprinkles.

"What are you doing here? It'd only be six in the morning on your end. And don't you get up at eight for work?" Jeremy queried.

"First one I'd rather not say, it is six in the morning and I do go to work at eight." Naomi replied.

"When I'm in trouble it's usually just Xana. Or my sisters locking me in the bathrom." Odd commented.

"Maybe I should try that with Copen." Naomi muttered.

"What are you in trouble for now?" Jeremy wondered.

"That's for me ta know an' ya'll ta never find out." Naomi grinned cheekily.

"Let me guess, because you'd rather deal with a Xana attack over going home? I take it you got in trouble with your dad?" Ulrich guessed.

Naomi sat there slack jawed and buy eyed, frozen in shock.

"W-h-h-how did you know!? I-I-I didn't even tell you anything!" Naomi fumed.

"Ulrich has trouble with his dad complaining about his grades. the only thing his dad is proud of him for is soccer." Odd explained.

"I don't think my dad is proud of me for anything. If so, I'm sure he hates me for being stronger than an Adept. So in turn despises me more than he does Adepts." Naomi doubted.

"So, now can we find out why you're in trouble?" Jeremy hoped.

Naomi sighed and looked down.

"I got found by my dad and his assistant while crawling through the vent maintenance shaft on a mission for work. When I got home one day, he said we needed to talk. So, I've been avoiding it. I stayed with a friend in Japan, Yumi and Aelita to avoid potential conflict." Naomi elaborated.

"How's your work with QUILL going?" Aelita wondered.

"Thank you for changing the subject. Uh, work's been great since I don't have a Glaive anymore. But, recently, I logged into the Sumeragi's website with my old login info. Moniqa and I deleted the search on our end. But, I still keep worrying in the back of my head that somehow it isn't gonna be that simple ta end that problem." Naomi spoke.

"I'll see if I can go incognito and delete your dilemma from there." Jeremy notified.

"R-really? Are you sure you wanna risk it? They can take you from your folks and experiment on you without anyone knowin' except them an' us." Naomi warned.

"It's worth the risk to help you. And besides, worse things can happen if you get captured." Jeremy assured.

Naomi nodded, squinted her eyes, shook her head and had her right hand over her eyes and lower forehead.

'Is something wrong Naomi? Are you getting a headache or migraine?" Aelita asked.

"Nah, my life's just so cringe. I've just been fighting and hiding, not able to do anything. I know! I need to rebel against them where they can't avoid it! But, no way, I'm not doing that. Wait, usually when I think something bad or sketchy like that happens. Great, fan-flippin-tastic, now it's gonna happen." Naomi droned.

"What's going to happen?" Aelita wondered.

"Nothin' you need ta worry 'bout." Naomi remarked.

"Okay, if you say so." Aelita whispered.

Suddenly, Naomi's phone began ringing. She looked at the caller ID and saw it was Asimov. She hit answer.

"Yeah yeah yeah, I know. I've gotta fight Nova at Firmament." Naomi yawned.

"Did Moniqa tell you? No matter, we need you to pretend to surrender yourself to the Sumeragi." Asimov answered.

Naomi was gurgling orange juice and choked when Asimov confirmed her fear. Naomi squeezed her eyes shut and held her right hand over her eyes.

"It's hard ta tell what stings worse; me choking on my orange juice or hearing what I just heard. Because, if I'm not losing it and did in fact hear what I think I did, we're gonna have a problem. You do realize theat if I go back to work with them they could get papers saying they own me. Not custody papers but close enough. I'll be experimented on again, and if that's not enough ta convince ya that's the dumbest idea I ever heard, they'll force me to sing again. So, before you say yeah, jus-just think about it 'fore ya call me back." Naomi ranted before ending the call.
