Chapter 2: The Beginning of the End, Part 2
*Main theme*
Sombra continues to laugh maniacally and the thirteen members of the Mane Sixteen looked in horror at the Elements now destroyed with the Tree of Harmony.
"What...Just...Happened?!" Rainbow asked in horror.
"It's gone!" Trini said in horror.
"The Tree of Harmony can't really be gone, can it?!" Fluttershy added. Twilight and Chase had looks on their faces that seemed as if their worst fears came true.
"It can't be!" Twilight said, not wanting to admit it.
"But it is! You thought you defeated me, but you led me right to the source of your power. Now that it's destroyed, nothing can stop me!" King Sombra replied.
Twilight picked up two pieces of the Element of Honesty and tried to put it back together, but it did nothing.
"He's right... With the Elements gone, I don't know how we can defeat him!" Twilight said.
"Then we'll just have to beat him the old-fashioned way!" Rainbow shouted as she and the other four charged at the evil unicorn while Jade, Sunray, Trini, Antonio, Sokka, and Clay stayed behind with Chase and Twilight.
Twilight stayed in place and kept trying to fix the Elements, with Chase beside her.
Sombra conjured up spikes from the cave floor, trapping them. This got Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, Antonio, Sokka, Clay, and Twilight's attention as the spikes reached all the way to the ceiling, trapping them inside and barely leaving enough room between them to stick one's hoof through. Twilight and Chase attempted to blast their way through as Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio tried to use their elemental powers as well on the crystals, but their magic and elemental powers had no effect.
"Ha! You're no match for me! I will finally rule the Crystal Empire! Wait... With you out of the way, I will rule all of Equestria!" King Sombra said.
"No!" Twilight yelled.
"Oh, yes. And I think I know exactly where I'll start," Sombra replied.
"Don't you dare say it!" Applejack and Clay shouted.
"You better not do it!" Sokka exclaimed angrily
"Your sweet, little hometown," Sombra said.
"You leave Ponyville alone!" Rarity retorted, stomping her hoof.
"Or what? Without your Elements, it would be so easy to control you," Sombra replied, as he lit up his horn and eyes. He conjured up some magic shadow claws, causing the Mane Sixteen to yelp, only for the claws to retract due to the evil unicorn's powers. "But there's no point. My conquering Ponyville is already your greatest fear!"
It was then that Sombra noticed Chase glaring at him. He smirked deviously.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" Sombra said as he used his powers to bring Chase out of the crystals and the alicorn stallion yelps in surprise.
"CHASE!" The others shouted in alarm as Sombra holds Chase in front of him with his magic.
"Hmm, fascinating." Sombra said as he looks at the dragon medallion around Chase's neck. "So it's true. You hold the power from one of the five Dragon Guardians. So, what's your secret?"
"Let me go and I'll show you, freak!" Chase said as he shouted, trying to lung at Sombra, but no affect.
King Sombra was impressed by this as he chuckled.
"You're more powerful than the ponies of Equestria. Yet you defend them. Why?" Sombra asked with his eyes narrowed.
"It's my duty." Chase replied back sternly, causing Sombra to chuckle again in amusement.
"A word used by the weak. But you hold the most powerful element of all. Lightning. And I will put it to good use along with you as my soldier." King Sombra said as he used his powers on Chase, causing the alicorn stallion to scream in pain.
"Chase!" Twilight shouted in horror of what's happening to her husband as the others were terrified by this.
Chase continued to scream as mist formed around him and electricity surged around it. The mist drops to the ground as Sombra smirked evilly. The others watched, completely terrified by what was happening.
"Chase?" Twilight said, very scared and worried for her husband.
When the mist cleared away, Chase rose up on his hooves with his back turned to the others. He turns around to reveal his eyes glowing green with a glare, causing the others to gasp in surprise.
"What did you do to my brother?!" Jade shouted in tears of rage.
"Improved him." Sombra answered with a malicious smile.
This left the whole group glaring at him in rage and anger.
"Well, that's what I call strength to terrify ponies." Sombra said as he walked past the crystal prison. "Come, my soldier. We have a kingdom to rule."
"Yes… Master." Chase said as the others gasp in horror of what has happened to their friend.
Chase walks past the crystal as Sombra disappeared in a black shadow and he headed towards Ponyville with Chase flying after him as well.
"No!" The rest of Mane Sixteen cried out as the two ponies flew out of the cave.
"What do we do?!" Fluttershy asked with fear and sadness in her voice.
"I don't know! The Tree of Harmony grew the Elements! It kept the Everfree Forest under control! And now it's gone. Sombra will take over Equestria, and it's all our fault! I knew Chase and I weren't ready to take the princesses' place, but I never thought we'd mess up this badly! Now Chase is on Sombra's side" Twilight replied.
It was then that everypony looked at Pinkie.
"What are you looking at me for?" Pinkie asked.
"This is usually when you say something funny to lift our spirits," Rainbow said.
"Sorry. Nothing about this is funny to me," Pinkie replied.
"I'm sorry. I'm trying to be strong, but I just can't bear to think about poor Sweetie Belle under the spell of that monster!" Rarity said, tearing up.
"Or those sweet little Cake twins..." Pinkie added.
"Or Spike, or Starlight, Bagheera, and Nyx..." Rainbow continued.
"Or Angel... or anypony forced to do that monster's bidding!" Fluttershy finished.
It was then that they turned to see Jade, Sunray, Trini, Antonio, Sokka, and Clay glaring at them angrily. More specifically Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash.
"What about you guys? Don't you have anything you want to say?" Rainbow asked with concern.
Jade, Sunray, Trini, Antonio, Clay, and Sokka continued to glare at them angrily.
"Oh, yeah. We do." Jade said, not hiding her anger, as she used her water element to splash water in Rainbow, Rarity, Pinkie, Fluttershy, and Applejack's faces as they yelped in surprise. "What the heck was that?!"
"Uh, you guys getting mad all of a sudden?" Pinkie guessed meekly.
"No! We mean you five! Why didn't you listen to Chase from the start when he told you something bad would happen?!" Sunray said furiously.
The others instantly realized what they were talking about.
"Is this still about us having Chase and Twilight start early for them to ascend to the throne?" Applejack asked in realization.
"Gee, ya think?!" Clay asked sarcastically and angrily, causing Applejack to lean back a bit from her husband's tone in fear. "Thanks for the question!"
"Look, we know that this is bad, but we did this a number of times and we always have you guys to help us out." Rainbow said, trying to avoid damage control.
"Well, that sure worked out well!" Trini said angrily.
"Yeah, and we just lost Chase all over again!" Jade said angrily.
"But we were doing everything right for the princesses. How can it go so wrong?" Fluttershy asked with concern.
"Because just like them you guys weren't listening to Chase! You don't have the answers all the time to calm him and Twilight down from the stress she's been going through!" Sokka shouted in anger.
"Sokka!" Fluttershy said in shock.
"But we were chosen to be the protectors of Equestria. Celestia and Luna said we would be doing this right." Rarity said with concern as Jade sighed in anger.
"They were wrong. Celestia was wrong to choose you five to help." Jade said, greatly upset.
Rainbow, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy, and Pinkie were confused and stunned by this.
"What?" Applejack asked in surprise.
"You guys are impulsive, you're arrogant, and you don't see that every decision you force Twilight and Chase to make could cause somepony their life!" Jade shouted angrily and furiously as the others, minus Twilight, turned away from the seven angry ponies. "You wanna know what will really happen to us in the future?!" Jade starts to lose her composure as a few tears leave her eyes. "They'll die, everypony will die fighting an evil being."
The others were shocked by this with looks of horror as they began to realize that Jade was right and this was all their fault for not listening to Chase from the start.
"The world needs ponies who can take on royal duties with great responsibility. And all Twilight and Chase have got are a bunch of dumb girls who only care about a stupid coronation rather than any pony else." Jade said sadly yet angrily as they moved away from them to dig themselves out.
Twilight followed behind Antonio and Trini moved aside for her to assist them. No sooner than a few seconds, Twilight, Jade, Sunray, Trini, Antonio, Sokka, and Clay managed to dig themselves out of the crystal prison.
"What do we do now, Twilight?" Trini asked with concern.
"I don't know, but we need to get back to Ponyville before Sombra takes over and save Chase's life." Twilight replied back. "This isn't going to be easy."
"Right. Let's hope we're not too late." Sunray said in agreement as the seven ponies were about to leave when they heard the sound of dirt shuffling as they turned to see the five remaining girls come out as they turned to them.
Twilight, Jade, Sunray, Trini, Antonio, Clay, and Sokka glared at them angrily, still upset with them.
"Look, guys. I know we haven't been taking Twilight's feelings seriously, and maybe we never will." Rainbow said somberly.
"We understand now that this whole mess is our fault for Chase's predicament." Rarity added sadly.
"This whole time we were sure that you guys needed us, but the truth is we need you both." Applejack said, not wanting to lose Chase just like the rest of the group. "This is just like when he sacrifice himself to save us from Deker and getting himself banished to the Wasteland. We're not gonna make the same mistake again."
"And if we're gonna survive this, we have to do it together to get him back." Fluttershy said with determination.
The others glared at them for a few seconds before they smiled proudly at them.
"We'll talk about you guys setting things right with Chase later. Right now, we've got a home to save." Clay said as the group went off to save their friend and all of Equestria.
(Scene changes)
Later, they quickly rushed back to Ponyville. But when they finally reached the town, they gasped in horror that some dark crystals were poking from the ground and a few ponies were seen under Sombra's control.
"Oh no! We're too late!" Sokka said in horror.
Applejack and Clay then noticed Apple Bloom as well was under Sombra's control.
"Apple Bloom!" Applejack called to her, but Apple Bloom didn't responded. "It's me!" She and Clay rushed to her little sister. "Look at me, sugarcube!"
"Come on, Apple Bloom! Snap out of it! Please!" Clay shouted in concern, but Apple Bloom didn't respond and walks away.
"Twilight, you gotta free her!" Applejack pleaded Twilight. "Please!"
"Can't you try?!" Clay asked the alicorn mare with worry.
Twilight flew up and got in front of Apple Bloom. She tried to use her magic to snap her out of the trance, but then Twilight was flung back by it.
"I... I can't!" Twilight said as she got back up. "Without the Elements, my magic isn't strong enough to stop Sombra's!"
Then, Bagheera, Nyx, Spike, and Starlight walked by them as they too were under Sombra's control as well.
"Spike! Starlight! Nyx! Bagheera!" Twilight exclaimed as she runs up and got in front of Starlight, Nyx, and Bagheera. "Spike, where are you going? Starlight? Nyx, sweetie?! Bagheera!?"
"We must lay siege to Canterlot." Starlight said in a monotone and completely under Sombra's control.
"No! Snap out of it, you four!" Twilight yelled out to her dragon assistant, the panther cub, her student, and her daughter. "You're stronger than his magic!"
"Sweetie Bell, please stop!" Rarity begged as Twilight turns and saw them as Sweetie Belle was under Sombra's control as well. "I can't get her to stop! I can't get her-!"
"None of us can." Twilight sadly said. "We can't reach them!" And she hugs Rarity.
Then suddenly they heard Pinkie screaming and they quickly ran to find her.
They soon found her by Sugarcube Corner holding on to Mrs. Cake under Sombra's control. As well as Carrot Cake and the Twins pulling a cart with a cake.
"He made them bake a black licorice fruitcake that says 'Congratulations to Our Favorite Supreme Emperor King Sombra' in green frosting! It's the ugliest cake I've ever seen!" Pinkie said, crying and clung to Rainbow.
"Twilight, this is bad! Like, really bad!" Rainbow remarked as the alicorn mare paced back and forth.
"I've never been so sad in my whole life!" Fluttershy said.
"We can't do this alone!" Sokka said while comforting his wife as she hugged her husband back. "We need a plan, Twilight! Fast!"
"What do we do now?!" Sunray asked frantically.
"I don't know what to do, Sunray! I don't know how to free them, but I don't know how to stop Sombra without Chase!" Twilight replied, lowering her head shamefully, "Everypony was so sure we'd do such a great job! Well, this is exactly what we were afraid of! Could anything else possibly go wrong?!"
"Well...with the Tree of Harmony gone, the Everfree Forest could grow out of control and threaten the town!" Pinkie pointed out.
"Darling, that's oddly specific." Rarity said as Jade saw something that made her eyes widened in surprise.
"Uh, Rarity. I think you might wanna rethink that." Jade said as Pinkie grabbed Rarity and turned her in the direction of the forest where Jade mentioned, with the others doing the same.
They noticed all the trees beginning to grow out of control, as the plants quickly ensnared the closest house. This made them gasp in fear.
"Man, this whole forest has gone crazy!" Antonio shouted as the vines were growing fast, appearing like snakes ready to constrict anything in their path.
"Yeah, no doubt about it! If we don't get it under control, Ponyville will be like a jungle!" Clay said in worry.
As this happened, Twilight stepped up with a frown on her face.
"Even if we figure out how to defeat Sombra, get Chase back, and bring everypony back to Ponyville, if we don't stop the forest, there won't be a Ponyville to come back to!" Twilight sternly said.
"Then we better do this fast, guys!" Trini said in agreement with her cousin-in-law. "We do this for Chase and everypony else!"
Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio lit their horns as they stood on their hind legs and aura hands replaced their front hooves. Jade dished out her tessen fans as Sunray brought out his twin sais as he held them in a fighting stance, Trini dished out her kunai, and Antonio dished out his tanto blades.
Clay held his kusarigama while Sokka brought out his machete and boomerang.
"As his ninja, we do not surrender!" Sokka shouted with determination.
Rainbow Dash flew off, returning with a various gardening tools she got from the flower shop.
"Ahem." Rainbow said as she dropped the tools and the six girls each grabbed one.
"For our friends!" Fluttershy and Sokka said together.
"For our families!" Clay, Rarity, and Applejack added.
"For our home!" Pinkie and Rainbow cheered as they all stood in line.
Jade, Sunray, Trini, Antonio, and Twilight did the same.
"For Equestria!" They finished together and with that said, the twelve members of the Mane Sixteen all charged forward.
"EQUESTRIA!" They all shouted.
(Scene changes)
Meanwhile, waves of enslaved ponies were advancing onto Canterlot as Sombra appeared at the front with possessed Chase at his side as if the alicorn stallion was his second in command, ready to attack. The guards tried to sound the horns, but Sombra blasted them away with Chase using his lightning element to send electricity at the other remaining guards.
"You! Break it down!" King Sombra told a mind controlled Big Mac.
Without hesitating, Big Mac ran into the door three times before breaking through. It wasn't long before Sombra and possessed Chase entered the castle and into the throne room, noticing it was empty.
"They've fled! Celestia and Luna are too cowardly to even stand against me! Equestria is mine!" Sombra said as he went up the three throne chairs, laughing evilly and possessed Chase bowed to the evil unicorn king in respect.
(Scene changes)
Meanwhile, the twelve members of the Mane Sixteen continued to fight against the plants.
Clay uses the blade of his kusarigama to slice the vines as Applejack bucks and stomps over some vines.
Jade and Sunray were slicing through the vines too with Trini and Antonio doing the same with Sokka leading the four unicorns.
Rarity and Twilight fire beams at other vines as Rainbow swung an ax at them. Fluttershy frees a mouse, rabbit and ferret from a vine.
"Come on, everypony!" Fluttershy yelled.
Soon, the vines surround them, and Fluttershy shrieks in fear.
"Fluttershy!" Sokka shouted in horror and worry for his wife as he sliced some vines as Applejack frees her with a plow and the three animals quickly made a run for it.
"I can't go on much longer, guys!" Clay said as he panted. "This is taking forever!"
"We've been at this for hours, but it's just growin' back too fast!" Applejack said tiredly.
"We have to keep trying!" Twilight yelled.
They charged at the vines again, but they flung them back. All of a sudden, two beams were fired at the vines. They all looked up to see Celestia and Luna in the air as they fired again at the vines before they landed in front of the twelve ponies with determined glares.
"I know we're supposed to be able to handle things on our own, but I've never been happier to see two ponies in my whole life!" Applejack gratefully said.
"Me too, honey." Clay said in agreement with his wife when Star Swirl teleported next to them Jewel and Santos.
"Nopony is meant to handle this on their own!" Star Swirl said.
"And they never will!" Santos said in agreement as Jewel nodded with her husband.
"Mom! Dad!" Sunray and Jade said in relief.
"Star Swirl!" Twilight said as she turned to the unicorn wizard. "The Tree of Harmony, it's-!"
"I know." Star Swirl said. "I alerted the princesses as soon as I could. I felt it happened. Like part of my essence just ceased to be."
"I know what you mean." Twilight sadly said. "I'm sorry."
But Star Swirl brought her chin up.
"Don't be. I've more than enough magic in me to keep the Everfree Forest under control." Star Swirl said calmly.
"You can do that?" Twilight asked.
"The Pillars and I planted the Tree of Harmony." Star Swirl reminded her with a confident smile as Jewel and Santos aided the royal sisters against the vines while slicing through them. "Who do you think kept the Forest under control before it did?" He approached the royal sisters as they kept firing at the vines. "It will take time, but with the princesses' help, I can keep it at bay!"
Then his horn glowed as he rose in the air and then he fired at the vines.
"Yes!" Sunray, Antonio, and Sokka shouted as the others smiled at the sight.
"Aw, yeah!" Rainbow cheered. "Go get 'em, beardy!"
Celestia and Luna continue to fire at the vines as Star Swirl joins them as they started clearing a huge section of the forest. It was then Star Swirl noticed that they were one pony short.
"Wait. Twilight, where's Chase?" Star Swirl asked with concern for the alicorn stallion as the twelve ponies felt concern.
Jewel and Santos noticed their elder son was not with them as well.
"Twilight, what happened? Where's my son?" Jewel asked with great concern
"Sombra's back, and he's taken control of all of our friends, including Chase!" Twilight said as she rushed to Celestia, shocking her, Luna, Santos, Jewel, and Star Swirl in the process.
"No!" Jewel said in horror of what happened to Chase.
"We've left Canterlot defenseless!" Luna exclaimed in horror and realization.
"He told you guys this would be bad, and now look where you've got him into!" Sunray said in anger towards Celestia and Luna as they felt guilty about this since they knew that this was their fault too.
"Twilight, you must go and get Chase back!" Celestia demanded with determination after she and Luna recomposed themselves. "Defend Equestria, and we shall contain the forest!"
Twilight nodded in reply as she heads to the others.
"At least now we're back to just one problem, now we've just gotta get Chase!" Pinkie said and then Twilight teleports herself and the others away.
(Scene changes)
At Canterlot, the twelve ponies arrived at their destination when they gasped in shock as they noticed everypony in Canterlot was under King Sombra's influence. Some were standing between them and the gate, while others were on the walls and balconies of the towers. They all stared down at the twelve ponies, looking completely emotionless as their eyes were glowing green.
"Awww...everypony's all evilly!" Pinkie remarked as the ponies looked ready to fight.
"Sombra's gonna force us to fight our way through our friends?!" Fluttershy asked.
"Not if I can help it!" Rainbow said.
She zoomed over the ponies and across the river in front of the gate. Trying to fly over it, Rainbow found herself facing off with Spitfire, Soarin, and the other Wonderbolts as they appeared from behind it. She gasped as the pegasi cut her off.
"Soarin!" Rainbow said in horror.
It was then that Rainbow Dash was almost hit by a magical blast, coming from a unicorn on the ground, only for a barrage of magic beams to come out next. She was forced to take evasive action and fly back to her friends, then hid behind Twilight's wing.
"Okay...guess we need a different plan. Twilight?" Rainbow asked, scared.
"I don't know!" Twilight replied, just as scared as the others. "I'm not prepared to fight against the citizens of Equestria! I guess that's one more thing Chase and I are not ready to do..."
"We don't have time left before we get inside!" Trini said while trying to hid her fear.
"Well, we'd better figure out somethin' quick!" Applejack said, pointing to the now lowering drawbridge, "Because none of them seem to have a problem with it!"
The drawbridge was lowered and allowed more ponies to walk out. The citizens of both Canterlot and Ponyville were now staring them down and came rushing towards them.
Then Rarity saw Fancy Pants under Sombra's control as he lifts up a large net ready to trap her.
"Oh, sorry about this, Fancy Pants!" Rarity apologized shamefully.
She then used her magic and removes his bowtie, blindfolding him. Then the net drops over the entire group and Rarity secures the net, as Clay, Pinkie, and Applejack hook the net on two crystals.
"We promise we'll let y'all out as soon as we can!" Applejack said as they saw Sokka, Rainbow, and Fluttershy being chased by Royal Guards in the air.
"Ooh, will I go here?" Rainbow turns to the right. "Or here, or there?!"
Fluttershy and Sokka tried to shake the guards chasing them when they saw Rainbow and the pegasus couple nodded.
Suddenly, they flew towards each other, and the guards crashed into each other.
But luckily, Twilight, Jade, Surnay, Trini, and Antonio caught them with their magic as they gently placed them down.
"Gotcha!" Rainbow said as she smirked, but then the Wonderbolts appeared.
Sokka, Fluttershy, and Rainbow rejoined with the others as they were now surrounded.
"I don't know how long we can hold them off!" Fluttershy said.
"I agree, this is just too much for us to handle!" Sokka added with concern as he panted.
"And holdin' them off isn't what we need anyhow!" Applejack added. "We need to get inside!"
"But we can't just leave them here, all possessed and Sombra-fied just like Chase is!" Rarity exclaimed.
"What do we do, Twilight?" Pinkie asked.
"I don't know, but we can't stay here!" Twilight said.
"Then I say we just teleport into the castle," Sunray said with determination to go and get Chase just like the rest wanted too.
"Good idea, that way we only have Sombra and Chase to deal with," Twilight replied.
Twilight teleported herself and the others into the castle just as the brainwashed ponies came closer.
(Scene changes)
Soon, the twelve ponies teleported inside in the nick of time.
"I'm sorry we couldn't help our friends, but I didn't know what else to do," Twilight said regretfully.
"At least we're inside," Applejack replied.
"Yeah! All we have to do now is defeat King Sombra!" Pinkie added nervously.
"I...We..." Twilight tried to say before she groaned miserably. "I just wish my husband was still with us."
Before she could think of anything, a green drop landed on her nose. Everypony looked up and saw Discord, who was currently floating above them as he ate a pickle on a fork.
"Oh my. No Elements? No princesses? No Chase? Seems like you're in a bit of a pickle!" Discord remarked, holding out the pickle before pulling back, "Or are you in..." He snapped his fingers and a jar of something appeared, "...more of a jam?" He dipped the pickle in the jam before eating it, "Mmm!"
"Discord! What are you doing here?!" Twilight asked.
"Well, I was going to hang these up all over the castle to celebrate your coronation, but apparently it's a bit premature," Discord replied, rolling the scroll up and pushed it into his ear. "So where's Chase at?"
"Chase is under Sombra's control, Discord! And we need to get him back!" Sokka said with concern.
"I'm so glad to see you! We could really use some all-powerful Lord of Chaos help right now!" Twilight said with a relieved smile like the others.
"Moi? Oh, I couldn't possibly," Discord replied as several mind-controlled guards saw them and ran out.
"Oh, poodles!" Pinkie exclaimed as the guards charged at them.
"Discord, please!" Twilight said.
The Lord of Chaos was now reading a book, but sighed and threw it away.
"Oh, fine." Discord replied, snapping away his reading glasses, "Just to be clear, I was really rooting for you to do this on your own and parlay that confidence boost into being the best protectors of Equestria you can be."
"Oh come on! Seriously!?" Antonio shouted in anger.
"A little less talking and a little more helping?!" Rainbow asked as she flew up to him.
Discord rolled his eyes and snapped his fingers, causing a giant spider web to appear and capture the pegasus guards. A hole then appeared that the unicorns fell into while the earth pony guard found himself getting buried under several giant scoops of ice scream.
"Thank you, Discord!" Fluttershy said with a sigh of relief.
"I don't know what we'd do without you!" Twilight added as she and Storm led the others to the door.
Discord smiled, then frowned and rubbed the back of his neck as they headed to the throne room. It wasn't long before King Sombra was remodeling the throne room with crystal spikes. Just then, the twelve ponies and Discord entered the room as he looked behind him.
"Okay, 'King' Sombra! Time to give up the crown!" Rainbow said.
"Here to fight the good fight with nothing but your wits? Admirable, but foolish!" Sombra retorted, with an evil laugh.
"Nevermind that! We've come for my husband!" Twilight said with a growl, making Sombra chuckle deviously.
"Let me guess. Duty." Sombra replied back sinisterly as Discord snickered.
"He said doody." Discord said with a teasing smile.
"Not like that!" Sokka said annoyingly.
King Sombra turned to his left as possessed Chase was in the shadows. The evil unicorn king gestured for him to approach the group and possessed Chase leaps down to them with a stern glare in his green glowing eyes.
"Ooh, I love the new look. That's a good one for him." Discord said teasingly.
Possessed Chase slowly walks into the middle while glaring at the group and Discord remained behind watching the scene in the background.
"Chase, you're coming with us whether you like it or not." Twilight said sternly to her mind controlled husband, who wouldn't budge. "We don't want to fight you, but we will if we have too."
King Sombra chuckled at the sight.
"Oh, you will have to." Sombra said deviously.
"Are we really gonna do this?" Jade asked with concern, not wanting to hurt her possessed older brother.
"He beat us before, we can do it to him." Sunray replied back, even though he was still unsure himself of doing this.
"And we will." Twilight said with a firm look. "We can do this, guys. Do not hesitate."
Possessed Chase lit his horn as he stood on his hind legs as aura hands replaced his front hooves, and he dished out his katana swords. Twilight, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio did the same as they dished out their respective weapons too. Sokka and Clay dished out their weapons too while the others got on the offense.
"Take. Chase. Down." Twilight said with her eyes narrowed.
They charged at Chase and tried to attack him, only for him to dodge their attacks before he simultaneously knocked them aside with punches and kicks.
Pinkie, Applejack, and Clay were flung against the walls as they grunted in pain. Sokka, Fluttershy, and Rainbow were knocked to the ground as they yelped in surprise. Sunray, Trini, and Antonio got whacked to the walls as they grunted.
Twilight was flung to the wall on the left side as she slid down on her flank just as she noticed Jade heading straight at her from being flung by Chase. Jade slams her back against the pillar and landed on Twilight as they grunted in pain. They both raised their heads as they turned to possessed Chase.
"You know, guys. I just had a horrible realization." Jade said with concern and realized something. "Chase's been going easy on us all these years!"
Possessed Chase glared at them with his aura hands having a firm grip on his katana swords as Sombra watched with a devious chuckle of amusement.
Jade charged forward as she tried to whack possessed Chase aside, but he side steps to the side and kicks her to the ground, making her grunt in pain. Then he uses his magic to hold her in place by the throat as she gasps.
"Jade!" Trini and Antonio shouted as they attempted to come to her aid and knock Chase, only for him to dodge their attacks.
He then uses his lightning element to send a bolt of electricity at them, shocking them in the process as they screamed in pain and they too were lifted in the air as they gagged.
"Let them go, Chase! Don't make me hurt you!" Sunray shouted as he charged at his possessed older brother sais at the ready, but Chase dodges him.
He then sends a quick dragon punch to Sunray's chest, sending him to the wall as he grunts in pain. Then some black crystals caught him as they pinned him to the wall and he grunted in pain.
Clay and Sokka jumped behind possessed Chase, weapons at the ready.
"Chase, we know you're still in there! You've gotta snap out of it!" Clay shouted as he dodged a sword swipe and Sokka dodged a kick from Chase while Sombra chuckled.
"Do you feel what the power of the Dragon Mojo can do? This boy is purely invincible! I am saving this weak world with his power! I am a gift!" Sombra said gloatingly.
Clay and possessed Chase clashed blades with each other as the Earth Pony stallion tried punch the mind controlled alicorn prince twice, only for him to dodge them and sent a powerful palm strike to Clay's chest. Clay was sent flying at the wall and black crystals strap him down as he struggled to break free.
"We're trying to save you, you idiot! Why do you have to make things so hard?!" Sokka shouted as he tried to attack Chase, but he couldn't as he hesitated to strike.
Suddenly, Chase kicks Sokka to the ground as he crashes into the pond and black crystals hold him captive as he struggles to break free.
Possessed Chase turns to the six remaining girls, who have managed to regroup with each other and lowered their guard.
"You want to keep coming at us? Go ahead, honey." Twilight said softly to her possessed husband. "We're done fighting you."
Sombra chuckled at the sight as he uses his magic to make the crystals sprout from underneath Twilight, making her and the others gasp as the captive princess was held hostage in the air.
Possessed Chase walks slowly to Rainbow, Pinkie, Rarity, Applejack, and Fluttershy as they realized not only that they knew that this was their fault for putting Chase into this, but also because of the Royal Sisters retiring.
"We don't wanna fight anymore, Chase." Applejack said sadly and hopelessly as the others shared the same look the Earth Pony mare had on her face. "We were fighting you because we didn't understand you, but now we get it."
Possessed Chase then uses his magic to capture the five girls as they gasped in surprise and being held hostage.
"We always figured you were mad because you didn't like the way we did things or how we never took Twilight's feelings seriously." Pinkie added as possessed Chase slowly walks in front of the five captive girls.
"But when we see what's happening to you and what's happening to everypony outside, especially to them, we realize it wasn't about us." Rarity said after she gestured to Twilight, Sokka, Jade, Sunray, Trini, Antonio, and Clay being held hostage as they helplessly watched the fiasco. "Especially when it involved Celestia and Luna retiring."
"You didn't yell because you were mad, you yelled because you were scared." Fluttershy continued with tears falling down from her eyes as possessed Chase readied his katana swords to strike at the five girls. "It's scary to be responsible for the lives you protect. Your team… your family."
"But we do it anyway because that's what it means to be a hero." Rainbow finished as tears fell from her face along with the other four girls having their eyes misty with tears streaming down with fright, regret, and sadness. "If this is it, we want you to know we finally understand. And we're sorry."
Rainbow, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie hold their hooves out in surrender to the possessed alicorn stallion. Possessed Chase twitches and he blinks, his eyes returning back to their normal original appearance. Then Chase's dragon medallion shines and discharges from the alicorn stallion in the throne room as well as freeing the girls and boys from their prison. Sombra looked shocked by this as Discord watches with sunglasses to enjoy the view.
"Chase, Chase, there you are!" Twilight shouted as the others gathered around her to see Chase groaning in pain and he went back on all fours. "Come back! Your family and friends need you!"
Chase shook his head as he opened his eyes and looked back to his friends and family.
"Twilight? Guys?" Chase asked with a tired look with a smile.
"Yes!" Twilight shouted in happiness, joy, and relief as she hugged her husband with all her might as the others do the same, feeling relieved of having Chase back with them.
"So what did I miss, honey?" Chase asked Twilight tiredly as his wife smiled at him in slight amusement.
"This is so pathetic." Sombra said furiously before he smirked evilly as the heroes turned to him with a glare. "But this will end quickly.
He then tried blasting them, only for Discord to snap his fingers turn the magic blast into what looked like pudding, which then dissipated. Sombra fired again, only for Discord to snap his fingers and transform it into pink smoke.
"Well, I guess it's on me to be the MVP today. I was betting on you, and I do hate being wrong," Discord said as he snapped his fingers, which turned the magic blasts into balloons, butterflies, confetti, and glitter, "Although if you think about it, I am your friend, so maybe you win because friendship wins? Although Fluttershy should get most of the credit for that. She's my favorite."
"Hey, she's my favorite too, ya know!" Sokka said as Discord dismissively waved it off.
Just then, Sombra grinned evilly before shifting his target. Instantly, his magic beam shot for Fluttershy and Sokka, only for Discord to leap in front and shield them at the last moment. Time seemed to slow down as the thirteen ponies watched the blast hit Discord in chest. He was sent flying past them, slamming into the doorway as the others turned to him in shock.
"DISCORD!" Fluttershy screamed as they ran over to him.
The thirteen ponies gasped as they saw his unconscious body.
"Not even the Lord of Chaos can stand against me! I am truly the most powerful creature in Equestria!" Sombra said as he encased the thrones inside a large crystal.
The others were barely listening to the evil unicorn king as they gathered around Discord and Rainbow lifted his head.
"Discord!" Rainbow cried out.
"Is he breathing?!" Chase asked in alarm.
"We need you!" Twilight said.
"Oh. Please wake up, please wake up..." Fluttershy added, tearing up and holding his neck. Discord's face started moving at this, much to Fluttershy's joy. "Discord!"
Discord opened his eyes while Fluttershy hugged him and the others smiled.
"I'm so glad you're okay!" Twilight said, "We can't beat him without you!"
"You couldn't beat me with him, either!" Sombra boasted, with an evil laugh.
They all stared at Discord, only to see him cough.
It would appear that you're on your own," Discord said in a weak voice. He took a ragged breath before snapping his fingers, but a spark escaped barely them, "I have nothing left to give."
"That's it, then? We're doomed?" Applejack asked.
"Of course you are. I can't believe it's taken you this long to realize it," Sombra replied, "Now, how shall I eliminate all this clutter in my throne room?"
The thirteen members of the Mane Sixteen just growled at the evil king.
"We'll keep him busy," Chase said as Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio joined him as the five ponies concentrated their chi, making them empowered with their elemental powers.
"You're all unwise to lower your defenses!" Sombra shouted, as he tried to blast the twelve ponies.
Chase managed to shield himself and the others from the blast with an electric shield from his lightning element powers and blasted the evil king, only for him to block it. The two unicorns tried to blast each other only to block each other's attacks. Sunray quickly noticed a crystal spike right above Sombra and blasted it with a beam of fire. Then Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio each fired five beams of earth, fire, water, wind, and lightning at the evil king, who simply blocked them. Then the crystal fell on top of Sombra and knocked him down. It wasn't too long before Sombra got back up and noticed the crystal that fell on him.
"Impressive…Most impressive," Sombra remarked.
"There's plenty more where that came from." Chase said sternly.
"Listen to me. You don't need me. You don't need the princesses, and you certainly don't need the Elements," Discord said with a cough as Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio joined the whole group. "Fluttershy, you will always be kind. Applejack, you will always be honest. Rarity, you'll always be generous. *ragged breath* And Rainbow Dash will be loyal as can be. Pinkie will always bring laughter wherever she goes. Chase you will always be brave. And Twilight... *coughs* you are and always will be the embodiment of magic. You lost sight of what's in front of you. You're here, together, willing to give everything you've got for Equestria. Nothing and nopony can ever take that away from you, because that's who you are."
"It's going to take more than a sentimental speech to save you," Sombra retorted, laughing evilly as Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, and Antonio turned to him with glares.
"Not a chance!" Chase said angrily.
"Discord's right. We've proven time and time again that the real magic is the thirteen of us working together!" Twilight said as they turned to face Sombra, "With these girls, boys, and my husband by my side, I'm not afraid of you! I'm not afraid of what you can do or how much power you have!"
"And we will not fall to your mercy!" Chase added with determination.
"You should be," Sombra replied as he blasted Twilight and Chase.
Twilight and Chase managed to block the attack, then staggered back at the blow against the barrier, but they pushed themselves back up a second later.
"You may knock us down," Twilight said as they began walking forward, "But we're gonna get back up again!" King Sombra fired another blast, Twilight and Chase blocking it with a slightly less stagger, "And again!" Sombra, now getting annoyed, fired and this time, Twilight and Chase's horns glowed to form a blade of magic that cut the attack in half. "And again! As long as we're together, we will never stop trying to defeat you!"
"We're full of surprises!" Chase added.
King Sombra fired his magic at full force, but Twilight and Chase fired their own magic blasts. The three beams struck, pushing against each other as it quickly knocked Twilight and Chase back.
"For our friends!" Fluttershy said as she grabbed Twilight's hoof.
"For our families!" Rarity and Applejack added, grabbing their hooves.
"For our home!" Pinkie and Rainbow continued, placing their hooves on their backs.
Twilight smiled as Chase placed his hoof on her back and nodded at her before he was empowered by his element followed by his family as they did the same.
"For Equestria!" They exclaimed together as the magic emitting from Twilight began to spread around them all. Sombra's magic was completely cancelled out and he staggered back against his throne.
"No! This can't be possible! Your magic can't defeat mine! I destroyed the source of your power!" Sombra shouted in fear and anger.
"You're wrong! While the Elements helped channel our power, they were never the source of it!" Chase replied with a smirk.
"You can't destroy our friendship, Sombra!" Twilight said.
"And we keep telling bad guys," Rainbow added.
"But y'all just don't seem to remember," Applejack continued.
"Friendship is magic!" They finished in unison as the energy exploded off of them as Chase fired a beam of lightning toward Sombra, followed by Jade's water beam, Sunray's fire blast, Antonio's earth beam, and Trini's wind gust.
Sombra fired another attack, but his magic simply bounced off the magical barrier. This caused him to step back away until he backed into the crystal block.
"Noooooooooo!" Sombra yelled as he was destroyed by the twelve ponies' power and elemental energy.
The magic then spread out, destroying the crystals in the throne room before extending out into the rest of the castle. As it hit everypony, they were freed from mind control. It then spread throughout the rest of Canterlot, freeing the ponies, then to Ponyville where the crystals infesting it completely vanished.
(Scene changes)
Soon enough, Celestia and Luna entered the room followed by Santos and Jewel. They were not only glad to see the twelve members of the Mane Sixteen tending to Discord, but also Chase for being freed from Sombra's magic. Discord was currently laying on a bed of pillows, the boys and girls were doing their best to keep him comfortable.
"Aw...Do you want more juice?" Fluttershy asked.
"Only if it's not too much trouble," Discord told her weakly. "And it's red. And it has one of those little umbrellas. And two cherries. No, no, actually, make it three. And maybe, uh...some donuts?"
"Okay, okay. One at a time, buddy." Sokka said with a chuckle.
"I see you've made yourselves at home," Celestia said, gaining their attention.
Santos and Jewel approached Chase as he turned to them before hugging his parents, who did the same.
"Are you alright, Chase?" Jewel asked her son with great concern.
"I'm okay." Chase said assuringly to his parents with a smile as they smiled back.
"Celestia! Luna! We know what you're going to say. Chase and I should have called on you as soon as we knew how dangerous it was," Twilight replied, "A good leader knows when to ask for help, and we didn't. My husband was also under Sombra's control. And because of me, the Tree of Harmony was destroyed. Equestria deserves somepony much better than the two of us as its leaders."
"You're right," Celestia said as Twilight and Chase sighed, lowering their heads, "About one thing. A good leader knows when to ask for help, but a great leader has the courage to admit when they've made a mistake and the strength to make it right. Today, you've both proven to me beyond any doubt that you two will be great leaders."
"Will be?" Twilight asked.
"What do you mean?" Chase asked in confusion
"Luna and I have decided it may have been a bit unfair to thrust this upon you both without giving you the time you need to prepare," Celestia replied.
Then a throat clearing was heard as they turned to see Santos and Jewel glaring at Celestia with stern expressions. Celestia sighed in shame as Luna felt the same way too.
"And we should've listened to Chase from the start since he knew all along that this was very irresponsible." Celestia said as she turned to Chase. "For that, we can only ask for your forgiveness, Chase. I know it was a lot to take in, but we were just caught up in the excitement of you and Twilight becoming the leaders this world needed."
Chase looked at Celestia and Luna, seeing the sadness and deep regret in their eyes before he sighed.
"Well, you two weren't the only ones." Chase said as he turned to Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow, Pinkie, and Fluttershy as they had the same guilty looks. "Our friends needed to hear this out from not just me, but also from my family and team." He then smiled. "But sometimes we just need to learn that we never have to be angry towards each other, because that's what makes our enemy stronger. We maybe weak alone, but together we're stronger to overcome anything."
The others smiled at his words as Twilight placed a hoof to her heart.
"I couldn't agree more. For that, we will give you and Twilight time when and only when you both are ready." Celestia said with a smile.
"Thank goodness! I really wasn't ready!" Twilight said with sigh of relief.
But that didn't go far as Discord's eyes widened in shock and surprise.
"Not ready?!" Discord shouted. They all spun around to see Discord jump to his feet, the draconequus marching up to them. "So, Twilight and Chase are not taking over?! This was all for nothing?! I pretended to be very hurt and gave one of the most convincing speeches of my-"
"PRETENDED?!" Twilight and Fluttershy shouted in surprise.
"You were never injured?!" Jade shouted in surprise as Sunray, Trini, Antonio, Clay, and Sokka looked visibly surprised by this.
But Chase felt something didn't seem right about what Discord was saying.
"Of course! You don't think some 'would-be king' could actually hurt the Lord of Chaos, do you?" Discord remarked before he continued with his lower half cut off by his magic as his upper half floated in the air. "Anyway, as I was saying, I pretended to be very hurt to convince you and Chase that you two didn't need anything but yourselves to be the incredible leaders I know you both can be." He turned to Celestia, "And now it's not happening?!"
"It will. But when they're ready," Celestia replied, which Discord slithered back in annoyance as he now had his lower body back in place.
"How can they not be ready?!" Discord asked irritatingly, walking up to one of the windows. "What a waste of a perfectly wonderful speech!" He slid the stain glass window up...somehow, and stepped through it. "Ugh! Honestly, I don't know why I even bother."
He slid the window back down as the others looked one another over.
"Ugh! So, he could have ended the whole Sombra thing whenever he wanted?" Rarity asked in anger.
"But he didn't, because he cares." Fluttershy said with a caring smile.
"I honestly don't understand that guy sometimes." Sokka said with a chuckle.
"That's Discord for ya," Rainbow added.
"He sure has a weird way of bein' supportive," Applejack remarked.
"Super odd dude," Pinkie said in agreement.
"With only half a mind for that matter." Chase said before Discord appeared in one of the window images.
"I heard that!" Discord yelled before disappearing, everypony turning to one another before laughing.
"Also, Truth be told, Celestia and I had fun today fighting side-by-side with Starswirl for our home," Luna said, "It's been years since we've gotten to do what you boys and girls do. You all make it look so easy."
"You've got quite a group of friends, Chase and Twilight." Santos said with a smile.
"Yes, you both remind me of somepony I know." Jewel said as she nuzzled Santos by the cheek and her husband did the same.
"Well, we are kind of an awesome team," Rainbow replied.
"Every adventure is heart-pounding, but so rewarding," Fluttershy added.
"I'm up for anything, as long as it's with all of you!" Pinkie continued.
"And you won't do it alone." Jade added with a smile.
"With us by your side." Sunray said in agreement as he smirked while Trini and Antonio nodded in agreement.
"You guys won't be able to handle everything solo." Sokka added.
"Not to mention with others out there waiting to help us out too." Clay finished as well and Rarity giggled at this.
"Life certainly hasn't been dull since we met." Rarity said.
"Nowhere else I'd rather be," Applejack added while she chuckled as Twilight also nodded.
"We are pretty incredible together, and we would do anything for Equestria. I guess I know that when the time comes, as long as we're together…" Twilight doesn't finish yet as she turned to Chase as her husband wrapped a foreleg around her as his wife smiled at him. "We definitely got this."
The others pulled Twilight and Chase into a hug, as everypony else smiled at the heroes who once again saved Equestria.
But Chase still felt as if there was something Discord said about him pretending to be injured from King Sombra's attack.
(Scene changes)
Meanwhile in Grogar's lair, Cozy Glow, Tirek, and Chrysalis were in a circle holding hooves and hands.
"Now I'll say something nice about centaurs. Tirek, you say something nice about changelings. And Chrysalis, you say something nice about ponies!" Cozy Glow said. The other two were annoyed at this.
"Never!" Chrysalis shouted, pulling her hoof out of Tirek's hand.
She would have pulled herself away from Cozy Glow, but the filly had quite the grip despite her size. It was then that Grogar entered the scene.
"Let us hope the three of you will be enough for my plans," Grogar said.
"And what of King Sombra?" Chrysalis replied, freeing herself from Cozy Glow along with Tirek.
"Did he succeed?" Tirek asked, only for Grogar to scoff.
He went up to his crystal ball, which activated and showed the scene where Sombra was obliterated by the thirteen members of the Mane Sixteen.
"I'd say he gambled and lost! But at least he can serve as a warning to those who doubt continuing with my plans. Unless any of you have doubts," Grogar said sternly while pointing at the three.
"Uh, not I," Tirek replied nervously.
"Nope!" Chrysalis added meekly.
"I'm good!" Cozy Glow finished with a sheepish smile.
"But more importantly, we won't be doing this alone." Grogar said as a figure appeared behind him as he turned to face him. "We have a very special guest that will aid us in our conquest against those ponies."
Coming into the light, it was none other than Dark Chase. Seeing him, Tirek, Cozy, and Chrysalis gasped at the sight.
"Dark Chase?!" Cozy Glow exclaimed in shock. "But you were destroyed by that magic blast!"
Dark Chase stared at her as he looked to the side for some reason before he turned back to her.
"I survived the worst." Dark Chase replied back and smirked sinisterly. "Grogar found me wondering at the other part and transported me back here from his magic."
"With him by our side he will be more than enough to stop Chase for good since we all know he is Twilight's weakness as well as his family and friends." Grogar said as he lightly pushed Dark Chase aside, making the clone glare at him. "As my second in command."
"What?!" Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow shouted in shock.
"Why should we trust him?! He should follow my command! I created him!" Chrysalis said angrily while pointing at Dark Chase, who swatted her hoof aside.
"Not anymore." Dark Chase said sternly. "Because since we're all together, we're going to make sure those ponies get what they deserve."
"Yes. And we shall join forces and work together to bring Equestria to its knees!" Grogar said, laughing evilly.
Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow laughed with him nervously. Dark Chase glared at him from behind as he was unnoticed by this.
"With my blade to your throat." Dark Chase said to himself, but Grogar heard him.
"What did you say?!" Grogar demanded as he turned to Dark Chase with a glare.
"No need to be too rash." Dark Chase said calmly with a smirk. "After all, we're all in on it. Are we?"
Grogar glared at him before he relaxed.
"Think what you may, but I will be watching you since I know all of your past history of taking on Chase Young at the School of Friendship." Grogar said sternly. "If you choose not to cooperate with me, then I shall turn you to ash."
Dark Chase had no effect by this and simply smirked in amusement.
"Don't worry. I will be fine." Dark Chase said as he walked past Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy. "If you don't mind, I would like to be alone in my own quarters to prepare for the attack."
Grogar glared at him before he smirked calmly.
"Very well, get rested." Grogar said calmly yet deviously. "You will need it."
With his back turned, Dark Chase glared for some reason before he walked away.
(Scene changes)
Arriving in his own private chamber, Dark Chase walked in front a rocky window with a glare, staring into the mountain range. He walks into the middle of his chamber and an evil smirk formed on his face.
"Well, if Grogar thinks he has what it takes to destroy Twilight, Chase, and their loved ones, then he will have to do better." Dark Chase said sinisterly. "And since his bell is located on Mount Everhoof, I now have enough power to gain control of it. As soon as it is in my possession, this world will be nothing more than a mere memory and Grogar will be history."
He chuckled sinisterly as his eyes glowed with his left eye showing a familiar orange color while the other was pure white as the screen died down.

I've added a few references to this one as well as having Chase being controlled by King Sombra as well as having 'Dark Chase' in. But as soon as we get to chapter 8, he will reveal for who he truly is. So try to keep it together and don't ever spoil it. I've been trying to make it a surprise, but whoever is gonna do that, please try not to do that. Anyway, I hope you will enjoy this one.
