Clank. "AGAIN"! Clank. "AGAIN"! Clank. Sweat beaded all around Rin's face. Her slayer suit stuck to her like a second skin. Her once neat ponytail began to loosen as she continued training with her Kusarigama. Rin has been training under Sango and Kohaku for the past couple of years. With a lot of blood, sweat, and an embarrassing amount of tears her talent as a demon slayer flourished. She would often accompany Kohaku and his squadron on expeditions and jobs. In doing so the pair's relationship began to change as well. The two bonded over their understanding of each other's childhood trauma and their subsequent rescue by the great Lord, but Rin never saw Kohaku as anything more than a friend and some much needed occasional release.
Light giggles echoed through the cavern as they made their way to Rin's favorite swimming hole. "Come and catch me" she teased as she jumped naked into the clear water. He soon dove in after her and easily caught up with her. She gasped as he grabbed her by the waist and moved her closer to him. He looked at her with love in his eyes as he leaned down to kiss her softly on her lips. Rin returned his kiss with a hesitant passion. She knew she would never be able to reciprocate his feelings. Rin embraced him as she wrapped her legs around his waist. Rather than ruin the movement she decided to let herself enjoy the rhythm of his hips letting out a soft moan with each thrust savoring every second as she knew this would be the last time he would be inside her.
"Rin. Rin." "Mmmmmmm….Kohaku just a few more minutes." Rin groaned as he tried to wake her from there after swim slumber. "Oh Rin what am going to do with you?" He asked playfully as he brushed the strands of hair from her face. His heart slipped a beat at the sight of her. Her skin glowed a creamy white. Her long black hair created a halo that surrounded her body as she lay on top of her kimono. The curves of her figure complimented her tall frame. "Rin. Marry me." Rin immediately snapped out of her groggy state. "What?" "Marry me Rin. I love you, I've always have. You're beautiful, strong, kind, I can go on and on, but the point is I love you." Kohaku confessed. "Oh Kohaku," Rin said as she gently put her hand on his cheek. "I do love you, but not in that way. You've always been my best friend. You are devilish handsome, considerate, and yes a hell of a lover, but I can't give my heart to anyone right now". "What do you mean?" he asked clearly heartbroken by her rejection of his proposal. "I've decided that I'm leaving the village for a while. I'm not sure what it is I'm searching for, but my entire life I've followed the path that others carved out for me because I was told this is what's best for me. I want a chance to decide that on my own." Kohaku knew Rin was more than capable of taking care of and protecting herself, but his heart pinged with jealousy at the prospect of her finding another man while she was on her journey. "Will you come back?" Kohaku asked with a hint of worry. "Of course I will. You guys are my dearest friends and family I could never stay away from you". Rin gave Kohaku one last kiss before they departed the cavern. He wanted to try and convince her to stay, but he knew that she had already made up her mind.
