There were thousands of them on the Wastelands. Hordes of Metalheads of all sizes were converging on a small village located fourty miles from Spargus City. Those who were able were armed with rifles, and the elderly and children were moved into the makeshift underground bunkers beneath their homes. The munitions were limited, and hope was dwindling down. With every ten Metalheads down, another twenty bursted from beneath the sands. But despite the bleak reality of it all, the villagers were ready to lay down their lives so that their children could see another day.
Suddenly the monsters stopped charging, every creature froze in place. Their attention was grabbed by a lone figure who stood outside the village gates. His eyes shined a bright blue, his short, spikey blonde hair with noticable shades of green in the roots moved with the calm desert wind, wearing ancient precursor armor, a unique pair of goggles and a single silver gauntlet on his left arm. All the Metalheads began to slowly approach the individual with caution. A small furry humanoid climbed up onto the warrior's shoulder, adorned with a pair of cargo pants, dual goggles and a cheeky grin.
The small individual shouted with a small microphone to amplify his voice, "Attention all metalheads! You are currently trespassing on Village grounds and if you DON'T wanna lose your precious head gems, you should all give up and turn tail. . . NOW." He nudged his eblow gentley on his friend's head and whispered, "How was that?" he asked, his companion smiled back.
"Not bad Daxter. Now let's watch the fireworks!" The Warrior snapped his fingers and out of the ground below, a ring of pillars emerged and surrounded the horde. Beams of light and electricity connected the pillars, forming a wall. One Metalhead leapt into the field, expecting to break through the wall.
The loud crackling and electricity flowed through the creature before being launched backwards into its own brood. The Warrior tapped into the earpiece he wore and shouted, "Light em' up Torn!" He exclaimed with excitement. A voice he recognised responded with acknowledgement.
"Let's give em' a show Jak!"
Above the village, a quadtrio of Haven Hellcats flew past with lightning speed. All four began to hover above the ring with the trapped Metalheads desperately trying to break out of the barrier but to no success.
"All units!" Torn commanded, "Deploy the package." With his fellow soldiers of the Freedom League, they dropped down their new prototype weapon in the center of the ring, crushing several of the jeweled beasts upon impact. Jak sprinted off with Daxter in toll as the weapon began to detonate itself, bolts of both red and yellow eco surged throughout the horde, some being disintigrated whilst more began to be elevated due to the rapid seismic blasts.
Jak shouted to his best friend, "Hang on Dax! We're going in!" And with a jump and clenched fists, his eyes began to grow brightly as light eco took hold, enabling his transformation into light mode. With wings of purest light, he flew upwards to the sky, just enough to center himself at the ring. A blink of an eye and Jak shifted back, letting himself freefall. The Ottsel companion held tightly on his shoulder, smiling as his friend's skin began to pale.
Dark eco flowed through Jak as his eyes became pitch black, the horns sprouting out of his head and his teeth turning razor sharp. "Let's wipe em' out!" Dark Jak growled as the dark lightning broke out around him as his sharp claws reached outwards. The airborne Metalheads were helpless as he slashed through them as if they were paper. With each one down, the dark eco grew brighter and wilder, powering Jak as he sped towards the ground.
The villagers that watched from afar were captivated by the lights of sparks and explosions that emitted from the barrier. They did not expect to witness the sparks and flashes of the different coloured eco used in the attack against the invaders. The Hellcats landed outside of the village, where Commander Torn and three other Freedom League soldiers showed that they were here to help.
After an intense flash, the dust settled. The barriers were now switched off. The duo who ventured into the ring emerged unscathed and victorious.
The villagers cheered as their village was no longer at risk of Metalhead infestation. Jak and Daxter ran up to meet Torn, "Looks like we stopped them just in time Torn." Jak said, greeting him with a friendly fist bump.
"The pillar defense system is a success. Ashlein and Sig will be happy that it works." Torn returned the gesture, "We'll set up a beacon for your Wastelander buddies to set up the perimeters for this area. Shouldn't take no more than four days."
Jak nodded whilst Daxter chimed in, "Another victory thanks to the legend that is Orange Lightning. I dare say my abilities were stylish as always." Torn and Jak shook their heads as the Ottsel began to boast about how he whacked a Metalhead so hard, the jewel fell off its head. After letting the villagers know that they will be under Wastelander protection, Jak took the offer to hop on Torn's hellcat with Daxter in tow. The flight back to Spargus would not take too long, all Jak could think of was the special someone that was eager to greet him upon his return.
Her bright peridot eyes, her blue and green hair that moved through the winds freely, giving a hint of mystery. The fair skin, the silm but also a hint of muscle that she built over time working as a mechanic and in secret, her training in self defense thanks to Governess Ashlein Praxis of Haven City. The time the two spent together after working as a racing team to save their own lives was plentiful when their feelings towards one another was clearer than ever before. The way his hands fit in hers, the warm smile she gave whenever he appeared, their bond bloomed like flowers in the spring and steadily grew stronger each day.
Upon landing outside of the gates of Spargus, Jak leapt out of Torn's hellcat with Daxter rushing ahead of him to greet his beloved Tess, whilst he looked for the one he was anxious to find in the small crowd of fellow Wastelander warriors being lead by the appointed king, Sig. "We've just recieved word that the mission was a success! Then again, I should not be surprised that the son of Damas Mar kicked some Metalhead ass like a real Wastelander." Sig shouted as he approached Jak with staff in hand and a smile.
Jak acknowledged before his eyes locked onto the one individual he was looking for. He moved past his friend, eyes bright as a neon sign in pure darkness. She wore his favoured racing jacket, the arms being a little long where the hands were a quarter covered. Underneath she wore a grey ripped vest which left her toned stomach exposed, and her legs were covered by a pair of navy blue jeans with a weapon holster, silver knee pads and black boots. The Warrior of light and dark jogged over to her, stopping a few centimetres before her. He removed his goggles, letting his messy bangs loose and free, alongside his red scarf that covered the lower half of his face.
She took a step closer to look at his features, his bright blue eyes beamed with happiness and a little bit of fatigue, his goatee a little bit soaked from sweat and thick green eyebrows that matched his facial hair and roots perfectly. "Sorry I took a while." Jak said sheepishly, "Daxter HAD to take a pit stop." He jokingly added.
The young lady giggled, placing her soft hand on his cheek. "It doesn't matter how long it takes. . . I know you'll always come back." She spoke softly as she let herself be pulled into closer proximity with Jak. He kissed her forehead and nuzzled her nose with his.
"Home is wherever you are Keira. . ." Jak said as planted his lips onto hers. The couple then walked into the city, for there were only three more days before the two would be involved in a ceremony that brings bonds into the next step of love.

Author's Notes:
A few years back, I said to myself that I'd continue writing stories within the Jak and Daxter world. So, I'm gonna do a series of one shots and multiple chapter based tales, with mixtures of canon, A.U. , and eventually I will begin the final story of the old Dark Angel saga which involves the character Lilith, who is Jak's mother in my set of stories of J and D.
Onwards to a new beginning!
