It All Works Out
Eddie sits on the old Martin Cranes lap. Martin is holding his yellow stick toy in front of Eddie slowly repeating "Mr. Banana" multiple times. Of course, Eddie only heard "Da Yadada". Suddenly, Frasier comes through the front door.
"How are you dad?" Frasier is starting to seem different. Frasier's hair is starting to whiten and balden, he is starting to wear plaid clothes, and he is starting to have wrinkles all over.
Martin responds with an annoyed tone.
"Well, my second wife died last month, I had to move in with my son in Chicago, who I thought was in San Francisco, and I didn't even find that out until after the flight through those, oh what should I call it, Golden Gates?"
"Ugh, Dad, please understand why I di–"
"The worst part is that last time I went to the doctor, he said..." Martin's Voice faltered, "Never mind that. The point is, I've hit rock bottom!"
Frasier's eyes slowly started to trail off towards the floor as his hand slowly raised onto his mouth. "By the way dad, um, you never actually told me what the doctor said to you."
There was a long silence. Martin was older than ever. He had to wear a hat to not show his almost completely bald head. Martin's voice started to open. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. "You can get it Fras. The only way I'm gonna get up is if my former Housekeeper and my favorite son are at the door."
"Ugh fine I'll get the doo–" Suddenly, a voice comes from the door.
"That's Physical Therapist to you!" and then a second voice. "I'm your favorite?"
Frasier's mouth hung open so wide it almost looked unnatural. Martin, however, looked like the happiest person on Earth.
"Daphne!? Niles!?" Martin screamed with glee at the door. He rushed to the door to let them in.
Niles and Daphne came through the door to say hello to Frasier and Martin. Daphne went first.
"Hi Marty! Hi Dr. Crane! Long time no see!" Daphne's hair was completely white and her skin was just starting to wrinkle. For some reason, it looked like she was crying not long before and she was forcing her smile.
"Hello Dad and Frasier." Niles' hair was just white and starting to bald. "We came as soon as we could once we heard the horrible news." Niles' expression suddenly turned grim.
Frasier looks offended. He turned to look at Martin. "What 'horrible news'?"
Martin looked down at the floor. "I told you when you came home from work."
"What did you tell me?"
"That I've hit rock bottom! Do you remember anything!"
Niles then joins their bicker. "That's not what you told me. You told me…" Niles pauses. Then he slowly pushes out, "The same thing." His expression looked very troubled.
Then, Frasier decides to speak, "This is a very confusing day." He puts a hand on his head. "It's very nice that you came here, but I think you should go to where your staying for the night." Frasier then noticed they had brought suit cases beside them. "Where are you staying?" Without missing a beat, Daphne responds, "Here." Then Niles adds, "'Nights', not 'night'."
