Sadness, delusion, and frustration. That is what Rias Gremory felt after losing to Riser Phenex in her first Rating Game. That game also destroyed her hopes of ever marrying someone she would love one day.
She felt frustrated because she didn't feel like she did her best. That damn regeneration of Riser was the biggest problem. She also felt frustrated at herself and didn't train at all. Rias did not know why she didn't train years before that.
But you can't change anything anyway, right? Whatever happens, happens. That's what Rias told herself, yet she felt miserable, knowing her doom would happen tomorrow.
'Taking my life doesn't seem so bad right now, should I do it?' Rias thought to herself but afterward shook her head, she didn't wanna commit suicide, she just wanted not to exist anymore.
Taking her life and not existing anymore was different if she didn't exist anymore, then nobody would miss her. Suicide would make her loved ones suffer a lot.
Going shopping with Akeno would maybe get her in a good mood, but she doesn't feel like going outside at all.
She was in her room just reading some Isekai. 'I wish this could happen to me, This is my biggest wish right now…' Rias sighed as she kept flipping pages, she just skipped over most of it. Most Isekai were the same anyway, she just read it because of the designs.
'I am delusional for thinking this could happen in any way, but delusion is good right now. Delusion is what keeps me going… for now at least.' Rias knew that this could not happen under any logical thinking, even if she ran away, her brother would find her in a day. His sensory abilities were better than anyone she knew of, it was the reason why she never played hide and seek with him.
'He'd find me, no matter where I go. His strength can be so annoying.' Rias thought. Rias became hopeless, she was just tired, tired of being forced to marry Riser. She was tired of all her responsibilities. She felt proud of being a Gremory, but that name also comes with so many responsibilities. Right now, she just wanted to be Rias.
'Why didn't I use that move on Riser?' She thought back to the battle on the rooftop. He was underestimating her so badly. If she had used that move maybe she could have hit his heart and won the battle. She just sighed.
'I hate this…'
Rias started to daydream that she was in a different world with Akeno. It helped her deal with this situation a bit. Rias knew that this daydreaming could never come true but why should she stop? She didn't have a reason to.
Rias kept quiet, closed her manga, and put it on the nightstand next to her bed. She made herself comfortable and started to sleep.
She dreamt about Akeno and her doing something in the clouds and having an adventure in a jungle. It was truly a weird but fun dream. She smiled the whole time, it wasn't just the both of them though. She saw something red telling her to stop staring because it was getting weird.
The next morning.
Waking up, she looked at the time. It was 1 pm, which was normal for her on the weekends, she got used to waking up for school but still really didn't like it. But then Grayfia came into her massive room.
"Lady Rias, get ready for the day." Grayfia said as she then went out again.
Rias was embarrassed every time someone went into her room, she was a huge Japanophile and had manga everywhere in her room. People usually knock when they wanna come inside, and that is fine with her since she has a button underneath her bed that hides all the stuff she had put up in her room with a simple click on it.
It was weird to Rias that Grayfia was so relaxed with her, she normally was much stricter. She welcomed it, Grayfia was hard to deal with most of the time when she wasn't drunk. Rias put on a bra and wore a black shirt along with a white skirt that barely covered her thighs.
She went out of her room, but not before pressing the button that changed it.
The housemaids offered her breakfast which she accepted, they led her to the dining room where everything was already set up.
'Going to school after this day will feel weird… I should just move on, staying in delusion would just hurt more. I also still have my second dream… To be the Rating game's Champion.' Rias smiled as she thought about her dream. Losing to Riser was hard but she still didn't give up on her second dream.
She didn't want to ever lose in a fight again or a Rating game. She needed to ask her brother how to train her Power of Destruction. She made a mental note to ask him later.
After eating breakfast, she stood up from the chair and some other maids approached her to test the wedding dress on her.
"We will need to test the dress on you, Lady Rias. Please come with us to the changing room." The one humble maid said to her.
"Already?!" Rias asked a bit surprised.
They just nodded and told her that it was a lot to prepare. Rias just sighed and nodded. She wanted to go shopping with Akeno and wanted to tell her maids but then she saw Grayfia in the hallway and just agreed.
Rias wasn't scared of Grayfia by any means, but she was just so strict and also a snitch too kind of. She wasn't fun to be around at all, except when she was drunk. It was fun to mess with her sister-in-law was in that condition.
Grayfia took Rias's hand which surprised the latter, she didn't need to do that, she wasn't gonna go anymore.
"I'm not gonna go anywhere Grayfia." Rias said in a low tone as she pouted a bit.
"I'm just doing this to please Sir Gremory and Lord Lucifer, and because I want to myself." Grayfia said in a monotone voice.
Rias just had an annoyed look on her face. Of course, they would want that, they still look at her as a little child that needs to be guided by everyone. That was just according to Rias, but it felt like it. The number of times Grayfia came to check up on Rias while she was on Earth needed to be studied.
Every second day and the number of times she told Grayfia that she was fine was also worrying.
When Rias told her, Grayfia was just like 'That's good to hear Lady Rias!' she also checked her notes and things like that. There was no getting away from this woman too, just like her elder brother.
They arrived after a bit of walking to the changing room. It took so long since the castle Rias lived at was massive.
Entering the room, Rias got seated and was told to wait for a bit, since it was getting finished just right now.
"Well, how are you feeling Lady Rias?" Grayfia asked the soon-to-be wife.
"I feel shitty. That's how I feel.." Rias said casually, Grayfia looked like she saw someone getting murdered in the most brutal way ever when Rias said the word 'shitty'.
"Language! Lady Rias, please do not embarrass The Gremory Family in the ceremony today!" Grayfia said to Rias in a harsh tone.
'It's always about the family and never about how I feel about things.' Rias complained in her mind but kept a straight face.
"I'll try my best, Grayfia." Rias said as she rolled her eyes, Grayfia saw it but didn't comment on that.
Rias had no Idea what Grayfia and Sirzechs had set up for her, it was kept a secret from her. What they didn't know was that the secret they had kept from Rias was gonna bite them back later.
The maids came back to Rias with the Wedding dress in their hands, it was white and looked majestic to Rias.
"Let's get it over with…" Rias said as she got up from her chair and got ready to try it on. Before she could even touch it, something happened, which never happened in the history of the Devils.
Right in front of the maids and Grayfia… Rias Gremory, Heir of the Gremory Clan, just disappeared.
Grayfia blinked to see if what happened was a dream. It wasn't, how did she disappear, just like that?
There was no trace at all leading to Rias. This was not normal at all. Grayfia got worried and used a magic circle to teleport to her husband.
"Lord Lucifer something happened, Lady Rias, she jus-"
"I know, Grayfia. She disappeared… I can't sense her anywhere either." Sirzechs said, worried for his baby sister.
Life was truly weird sometimes, he wasn't sure if she was dead or not. He didn't know how this could have happened.
All he knew was that her sister wasn't like this, she was against this whole marriage thing, but he knew that Rias didn't wanna embarrass the Gremory clan like this, so she was most likely dead. Either way, he was still going to search for her to confirm her death or survival.
Rias was his beloved sister after all.
He'd announce the death of Rias in a few hours.
In the Dimensional Gap.
There was a dragon, called the Great Red, it was one of the most powerful beings and would once in a lifetime respond to dreams of people.
The dream he granted this time was the one of Rias Gremory.
"I hope that damn redhead is happy now… I'm probably not gonna grant any wish for another thousand years from now on." He spoke out loud.
He then got back to his favorite activity, which was, imagining himself as a delinquent.
With Rias.
Rias was confused, one moment she wanted to try on her wedding dress, and the other moment, she got teleported here, on this beach more precisely on this island. She started rubbing her eyes to see if she was dreaming. As she still wasn't convinced, Rias started to walk to the sea.
She felt the sand on her feet along with the cold water. Okay, she was convinced now. Did the dream, she wished for yesterday come true now?
If it came true, then she needed to find people to have an adventure with. She did not want to be alone. She just hoped that this world wasn't dark and that the adventures were plentiful. But before she checked anything else she tried something.
In her hand was the Power of Destruction and on her back, black bat-like wings spread out.
'Good, I'm still a devil.'
Knowing this information, she let her wings and Power of Destruction disappear into thin air. Not knowing what to do, she sat down on the sand and watched the sea, the view was beautiful and unique.
She was still wondering how she ended up here, not why. Someone had to grant her delusional wish…
After much thinking, Rias decided to give it up for now. It would be pointless for her to keep thinking about who did it.
She stood up and explored the island until a voice came from somewhere that said.
"I'm the Deity of this island, if you wanna live get off this island and disappear." The strange voice said.
"I just came here to explore the island, nothing more nothing less." Rias said as she kept moving. She just wanted to explore this island and now has to reason with this so-called deity?! Rias didn't like this at all.
"Don't say that I didn't warn you, woman." The voice said as it fired a pistol that nearly hit Rias.
This single action made Rias enraged, the 'Deity' didn't even wanna talk. She might be not strong enough but she didn't care now, Rias just wanted it dead.
She called upon her Power of Destruction, it came to life instantly in her hands and roared with power ready to be used by its master.
An aura of power was around Rias it wasn't visible to the bare eye but you could feel it. She fired off her attack in the direction the shot came from.
The only thing that remained of the body was dust, which eventually disappeared too. When Rias came forward to the location where the shot came from, she was confused about why there was a lone treasure chest in a bush. It had no bottom and looked very used.
Rias didn't seem to think much about it as she continued to explore the island, she found some weird animals which she found funny, like a snake with bunny ears.
As she got deeper into the island the forest got darker, Rias walked until she saw a steep hill.
'What do we have here?' Rias thought to herself and flew upwards. She didn't think that there was something on top of the hill but to her surprise, she saw multiple treasure chests which were… empty?!
"Huuuuuuhhh?! Why are they empty? This has to be a joke." Rias had a straight face on her which was annoyed. She was so happy but fate didn't want her to be happy, she guessed. She then sighed and looked around.
"Well, at least the view from here is nice…"
"Hmm, is this a pirate world I landed in? Looking at the treasure chests seems like it." Rias smiled, those animals she saw definitely weren't normal. Her hope for a world that isn't dark was diminished into small little pieces, but at least she got away from her wedding so it wasn't that bad.
Her thoughts were interrupted as she saw a ship with a Strawhat as its logo.
"Hm?"
Well guys, that was it for now, I hope you liked it. Was Rias written correctly here? Did you like her, I made sure to study her character, but most of the growth comes after the whole Riser so I was confused a bit. This fic came to me as I read the light novel of DxD I love the characters and the world, but the plot is just plain for me. Please leave some reviews if you read it to this point.
Oh and before someone asks, yes the person Rias killed was Gaimon.
This won't just be a canon rehash, I hope. I will be making some major changes. I wanna let Rias kill people.
