In a wooded area, three teenage boys were walking down a path that went through it.

One boy had a red mohawk and dark shades, wearing a leather jacket over a white t-shirt, blue denim jeans, and black boots.

The second wore a blue baseball cap backwards over blonde hair, blue denim vest over a gray, long sleeved shirt, navy blue pants, and white and gray shoes.

The third had black hair and wore a red hoodie with the hood up, beige cargo pants, and brown boots.

"Man, did you see me take that trainer down back there?" asked the boy with the mohawk.

"He was an old man." replied the boy with the baseball cap.

"So? You battled a little girl yesterday." replied the boy with the hoodie.

"Whatever. Man, I bet we can take on any trainer." said the boy with the mohawk. The boy with the hoodie suddenly stopped.

"What's wrong, man?" asked the boy with the baseball cap. The boy with the hoodie points down the path; the other two looked to see Grizz, Panda, and Ice Bear standing in the middle of the path, looking at them.

Grizz was wearing a red neckerchief with a light orange, pokeball symbol on it and a black belt with pokeballs on it while carrying a light brown travel tote bag.

Panda wore a green neckerchief with a light green pokeball symbol on it and also wore a black belt with pokeballs on it while carrying a yellow travel tote bag.

Ice Bear wore a light blue neckerchief with a navy blue pokeball symbol on it and wore a black belt with pokeballs on it also while carrying a light gray travel tote bag. One of the boys noticed their pokeballs.

"Are you three supposed to be Pokemon trainers?" asked the boy with the mohawk with an amused tone.

"You bet." replied Grizz. The three boys suddenly begin laughing.

"Ice Bear wants to know what you find amusing." said Ice Bear.

"There's no way bears can be Pokemon trainers." said the boy with the hoodie.

"Yes, we are! We have Pokemon!" said Panda.

"So what? We aren't going to waste our time having Pokemon battles with a bunch of bears." said the boy with the mohawk.

"Oh, I get it; you're scared, aren't you?" said Grizz.

"I guess these guys weren't serious when they said they could take on any trainer." said Panda.

"Hey, we are serious!" said the boy with the cap.

"Well then, prove it." said Grizz.

"Fine; but you better have money on you!" said the boy with the hoodie as he stepped forward. Grizz turned towards Ice Bear.

"You want this one, bro?" asked Grizz.

"Ice Bear will show no mercy." replied Ice Bear. He then takes a pokeball off his belt and throws it, releasing a large, polar bear Pokemon that icicles hanging from its chin.

The boy with the hoodie throws his pokeball, releasing a Pokemon that looked sort of like a large pokeball with eyes and a mouth.

"What's that?" asked Panda as he takes out a pokedex from his bag and points it at the Pokemon.

"Electrode, the Ball Pokemon, and the evolved form of Voltorb. It explodes in response to even minor stimuli. It is feared, with the nickname of "The Bomb Ball." said the pokedex.

"Careful, bro!" said Grizz.

"Electrode, use Rollout!" said the Electrode's trainer. The Electrode rolls towards the Pokemon and slams into it, doing super effective damage.

"Beartic, use Slash." Ice Bear says to the Pokemon revealed to be a Beartic. His Beartic swipes its claws at the Electrode, knocking it back; but it came back around and slams into Beartic with more force than before.

"Watch it, Ice Bear!" said Panda. "Rollout's power doubles every time it hits!"

"Beartic, use Icicle Crash." said Ice Bear. Beartic grabs some of the icicles off its chin and drops them onto the Electrode, damaging it; but then it comes back around for another hit.

"Your Beartic won't be able to handle this one!" said the Electrode's trainer.

"Beartic, use Endure." said Ice Bear. Beartic braces itself and the Electrode slams into it hard, doing super effective damage; fortunately, Beartic was still standing. "Beartic, use Flail." Beartic starts flailing its arms around towards Electrode, striking it hard enough to send it flying past its trainer, into a tree, knocking it out.

"Ice Bear won!" cheered Panda.

"Way to go, bro!" said Grizz.

"Ice Bear wins." said Ice Bear. The Electrode's trainer sulks before returning his Electrode to its pokeball. He walks over to Ice Bear, hands him pokedollars, and returns to his friends.

"You lost to a bear!" said the boy with the cap.

"I didn't think it would win!" said Electrode's trainer. The boy with the cap stepped forward.

"Okay; which of you two wants to battle me?" asked the boy with the cap.

"I guess I will." replied Panda, stepping forward while pulling out a pokeball while the boy with the cap does the same.

"You got this, bro!" said Grizz.

"Ice Bear believes in you." said Ice Bear. Panda smiles at them and turned towards the boy with the cap.

"Marowak, go!" said the boy with the cap, throwing a pokeball and releasing a bipedal, light brown Pokemon with a cream-colored underbelly and a skull head while carrying a bone. Panda takes out the pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.

"Marowak, the Bone Keeper Pokemon, and the evolved form of Cubone. It is small and was originally very weak. Its temperament turned ferocious when it began using bones." said the pokedex.

"Pangoro, go!" said Panda, throwing a pokeball, releasing a large, bipedal, panda bearlike Pokemon. "Okay, Pangoro, let's starting things off with Leer!" The Pokemon, now identified as Pangoro, glares at Marowak while its eyes glowed red; Marowak shudders as its defense is lowered.

"Marowak, Bone Club!" said Marowak's trainer. Marowak runs at Pangoro and hits it with the bone it was holding, dealing damage to Pangoro.

"Pangoro, Vital Throw!" said Panda. Pangoro runs at Marowak while one of its arms glowed yellow, and uses it to grab Marowak; it swings Marowak around and throws him to the ground, dealing more damage than it normally would due to Marowak's weakened defense.

"Marowak, Bonemerang!" said Marowak's trainer. Marowak throws its bone, and it hits Pangoro across the face; it then comes back and hits Pangoro in the back of its head. Marowak catches the bone. "Want to give up now?"

"You wish." said Panda. "Pangoro, use Work Up!" Pangoro becomes surrounded by a red aura and its strength increases.

"Marowak, Focus Energy!" said Marowak's trainer. Marowak becomes surrounded by a light blue aura.

"Pangoro, use Comet Punch!" said Panda. Pangoro runs at Marowak and punches it several times; it falls to the ground, unconscious.

"No way!" said Marowak's trainer.

"Yes way. My Pangoro has the Iron Fist ability, which powers up his punching moves." said Panda. "So, with that, along with Marowak's defense being weakened by Leer, and Pangoro's attack strength being increased with Work Up, his Comet Punch was bound to deal loads of damage." Marowak's trainer grumbled and returned Marowak to its pokeball; after giving Panda pokedollars, he walks to his friends.

"Should've stuck with battling little girls." muttered the boy with the mohawk. Panda walks back to his brothers and Beartic with Pangoro following him. Grizz wraps his arms around Panda and hugs him.

"I knew you could do it, bro!" said Grizz.

"Ice Bear did too." said Ice Bear.

"Yeah; that was pretty amazing." said Panda. He turned towards Pangoro. "You were amazing too, Pangoro." Pangoro nods in response.

"All right, you and me are next!" said the boy with the mohawk, pointing at Grizz.

"Yeah!" replied Grizz. He and the boy with the mohawk stepped forward while each of them pulled out a pokeball.

"Garbodor, go!" said the boy with the mohawk, throwing his pokeball, releasing a Pokemon that looked like a pile of trash with eyes and a mouth. Panda points the pokedex at the Pokemon.

"Garbodor, the Trash Heap Pokemon, and the evolved form of Trubbish. It clenches opponents with its left arm and finishes them off with foul-smelling poison gas belched from its mouth." said the pokedex.

"Ursaring, go!" said Grizz, throwing a pokeball and releasing a brown, bearlike Pokemon with a cream-colored ring on its torso. "Okay, Ursaring, use Leer!" The Pokemon, now identified as an Ursaring, glares at Garbodor while its eyes glowed red, weakening Garbodor's defense.

"Garbodor, Acid Spray!" said Garbodor's trainer. Garbodor releases a purple stream of liquid from its mouth, and it hits Ursaring, dealing damage, and weakening its special defense.

"Okay, Ursaring, use Fury Swipes!" said Grizz. Ursaring runs at Garbador and swipes it repeatedly with its claws, dealing more damage than it normally would due to Garbodor's defense being weakened. Garbodor begins to slump and begins surging with energy.

"You activated my Garbodor's Weak Armor ability." said Garbodor's trainer. "When he's hit physically, his defense weakens, but his speed increases greatly. Okay, Garbodor, Sludge Bomb!" Garbodor fires a brown ball of sludge from his mouth, and it hits Ursaring, dealing more damage than it normally would due to its special defense being weakened by Acid Spray. It turned purple under Ursaring's eyes. "And it looks like Ursaring's poisoned."

"That's not good for both of us." said Grizz, smirking.

"What do you mean 'both of us'?" asked Garbodor's trainer. Ursaring lets out a loud yell and its eyes suddenly began to glow red; it was surrounded by a dark red aura. "What's going on?"

"You activated Ursaring's Guts ability." said Grizz. "When he suffers a status condition, like poisoning, his attack strength increases." Ursaring coughs from its poisoning and he loses some stamina.

"Okay, Ursaring, use Slash!" said Grizz. Ursaring rushes at Garbodor and swings his arm upward, slashing Garbodor with his claws; due to Guts increasing Ursaring's attack strength and Garbodor's defense being weakened by Leer and his own Weak Armor ability, Ursaring's Slash dealt major damage. Garbodor gets sent flying up and crashes down onto the ground with swirly eyes. "We did it, Ursaring!" Ursaring lets out a roar.

Garbodor's trainer drops to his knees with a stunned look on his face and returns Garbodor to his pokeball. Grizz walks to him and holds out his paw; Garbodor's trainer gives Grizz pokedollars, still with a stunned look on his face. "Good battle, man."

"Y-Yeah." stammered Garbodor's trainer.

"You go, Grizz!" said Panda.

"Ice Bear believed in you." said Ice Bear.

"Thanks, guys." said Grizz. Ice Bear walks to Grizz while pulling a Pecha Berry out of his bag.

"Give this to Ursaring." said Ice Bear.

"Oh, yeah; this cures poisoning." said Grizz. He takes the Pecha Berry and walks to Ursaring. "Here you go, man." He gives Ursaring the Pecha Berry who takes it and eats it; seconds later, the purple under his eyes were gone.

Grizz then walks to his brothers and put an arm around each of their shoulders and they walk away while being followed by Ursaring, Pangoro, and Beartic while the three trainers they beat looked on with stunned looks on their faces.

Night came, and Grizz and Panda were sitting near a campfire while Ice Bear was sitting under a tree while whittling a piece of wood with his ax.

"Man, we were great today." said Grizz.

"You think we're ready for our next gym battle?" asked Panda.

"Maybe; we just need to train more." said Grizz.

"Good idea." said Panda. Grizz takes Ursaring's pokeball out of his belt and looks at it.

"I don't know what the next gym is like; but I'm sure our Pokemon can handle it." said Grizz. Panda takes out Pangoro's pokeball and looks at it while Ice Bear does the same with Beartic's pokeball.
