Sons of the Fathers 1: Prologue: A Day at the Mall
One day at the local mall, we see the likes of Ryuji, Makoto, Himari, Hotaru, Hayato, Hifumi, Sae, and Ryuta Watanabe having a nice day out. They're seen walking about the concourse in search of something to do.
"Thanks for inviting Ryuta and me on your mall trip, you guys," Sae said.
"You're family, sis," Makoto said, "We're always glad to have you around."
"So, what do you guys want to do first?" Ryuji asked.
"Let's go see a movie!" Ryuta suggested.
"Let's go grab something to eat," Hifumi suggested, "I can go for a big salted pretzel."
"I want to check out the arcade," Hotaru suggested.
"Let's go shoe shopping," Himari suggested.
"You know what would be a good idea, Ryuta," Ryuji asked, "If you go r-"
With that, Ryuta covered Ryuji's mouth to silence him.
"What were you saying, Ryuji?" Sae asked her brother-in-law
"He was saying it would be a good idea if I run to the Lemon Julio (Orange Julius) and get you a smoothie," Ryuta lied.
"Maybe later," Sae said, "Thanks though."
With a potential crisis averted, Ryuta whispers into Ryuji's ear to ream him out.
"I tell you my plans to propose to Sae once, and now you want to announce it to our friend group," Ryuta whispered.
"I just thought that maybe Hayato and I could help you go ring shopping while we were here," Ryuji whispered back.
"I appreciate the gesture, but I'd like to sneak away sometime during the day and go to the ring store by myself if you don't mind," Ryuta said.
"Are you boys alright?" Makoto asked.
"Yes, babe, we're good," Ryuji said.
"So, are we going to grab something to eat first before we-," Hayato began only to get cut off by a random woman screaming.
"HELP! SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!" The woman screamed.
The group of eight looked in the direction of the woman's yells when they see a rather familiar character; a hooded figure clad in black, with a red and black backpack and a pair of black rollerblades with red wheels. This character just made off with the woman's purse and is seen skating away with it.
"Isn't that the same boy from the dance marathon last year?" Himari asked.
"And he's making off with that woman's purse!" Hayato cried.
"We've got to do something!" Ryuji exclaimed.
"Quick, after him!" Ryuta yelled as the group of eight gave chase.
The eight quickly chase after the rollerblade kid. He quickly notices that he's being chased and he tries knocking over trash cans and potted plants to slow them down, to very little effect. They passed by a staircase which Hayato, Hifumi, Hotaru, and Himari took in an attempt to cut the rollerblade kid off when they get to the next staircase while Ryuji, Makoto, Sae, and Ryuta stuck with chasing the kid on the lower level.
On the lower level, Ryuta jumped into a shopping cart, an idea in the works.
"Sae, push me as hard as you can at that brat!" Ryuta said.
"Are you sure?" Sae asked.
"Trust me!" Ryuta replied as he jumped into the shopping cart.
"Hang on tight!" Sae said as she pushed the shopping cart with all of her might.
The shopping car whizzed past Ryuji and Makoto and was heading straight for the rollerblade kid. Ryuta was ready to jump out and tackle him to the ground when he got close, but the kid skated to the right to avoid a fountain that was in his path. Ryuta unfortunately couldn't get out of the shopping cart in time and he went crashing into the fountain's waters, leaving him a dripping wet mess as Sae, Ryuji, and Makoto continued to chase after the rollerblade kid.
On the upper level with the Yajimas and Himari, they manage to get ahead of the rollerblade kid, who was still being chased on the lower level by Sae, Ryuji, and Makoto. That's when Hotaru gets an idea.
"I'm going to end this right here right now," Hotaru said as he prepared himself to jump over the railing and down onto the lower level. Before jumping, he looks at his parents and girlfriend, saying, "Tell my story!"
"HOTARU, NO!" Hayato, Hifumi, and Himari shout, but it was too late. Hotaru had already leapt over the railing and was looking to come down on the rollerblade kid hard.
"I REGRET NOTHING!" Hotaru yelled as the rollerblade kid looked up to see the 20-something year old Yajima coming down on him.
That was when the rollerblade kid grabbed a nearby trashcan and put it in Hotaru's trajectory. The kid skated off just as Hotaru landed in the trash can. The young scarlet haired man poked his head out from the trash can, a banana peel on his head, and saw the boy skate away just as Ryuji, Makoto, Sae, and a dripping wet Ryuta rushed past him.
"Hotaru, are you alright?!" Himari asked from the upper level.
"Yeah, I'm good!" Hotaru said, "But we've got to catch up with the others! Come on!"
Hotaru jumped out of the trash can and continued chasing after the kid as Hayato, Himari, and Hifumi made it to another staircase and went back down to the lower level to join their friends in the chase.
The chase then took the group through a little kid's play area, which was basically an indoor playground with slides, a swingset, a jungle gym, and a ball pit. The rollerblade kid lead the eight chasing him all throughout the play area, and half of them got wrecked by the equipment there; Hayato and Hifumi ended up tripping and falling into the ball pit while Himari and Hotaru got kicked to the floor by the kids playing on the swingset. This leaves Ryuji, Sae, Makoto, and Ryuta to be the only ones left chasing after the kid.
The rollerblade kid is about to go down the biggest slide there, and Makoto, Sae, and Ryuta are ready to apprehend him when he gets to the bottom, but before he could make it to the bottom of the slide, he performs an excellent jump, jumping over all three of their heads. The kid lands on his feet and skates out of the play area as Ryuji quickly gives chase. The other seven try and keep up, but it looks like it's all up to Ryuji for the time being.
Once out of the play area, Ryuji is slowly but surely catching up to the rollerblade kid as the other seven were seen behind the blonde man, trying to catch up. Ryuji suddenly had laser focus on the kid as he used every last ounce of his energy to catch up to him, letting out an aggravated battle cry all the while. This caught the rollerblade kid's attention as he turned around in time for Ryuji to tackle him to the ground, causing him to drop the purse he stole.
"Argh!" The rollerblade kid struggled to break free from the hold Ryuji had on him, "Get off of me! Let me go!"
Ryuji flipped the boy over so he could look at him face-to-face.
"Now let's see what you look like without that hood," Ryuji said as he removed the hood from the boy's head to reveal…that his face looked exactly like his but younger, obviously, and with long black and purple eyes. Seeing this made boy Ryuji and the boy gasp as they looked at each other in shock.
"No way," Ryuji exclaimed.
"So we finally meet," The rollerblade kid said, displeasure in his voice, as the rest of Ryuji's family and friends catch up to them.
"Dad, there you are," Himari said, "Whoa! You caught that rollerblading brat! Awesome!"
"More than that, I got a good look at his face," Ryuji said as he picked the kid up by the hood so he could show them his face, "Look."
Everyone gasped as they saw that the boy looked exactly like Ryuji, with Makoto's face turning into an angry pout.
"Ryuji," Makoto said in an annoyed tone, "You've got some 'splainin' to do!"
"Yes," the rollerblade kid smirked, "Go ahead and explain to your friends and family how I came into the world…father!"
Hearing that made the seven before Ryuji gasp in shock.
"I'm going to kill him," Makoto yelled as she prepared to pounce on her husband.
"Mom, let's calm down now," Himari said nervously as she, Sae, and Hotaru tried to hold Makoto back from mauling Ryuji.
"Makoto, I swear it's not what you think," Ryuji said.
"Oh really, because it looks pretty bad from where we're standing," Hayato said as he gave a disapproving look at Ryuji.
"Look, just give me a minute to explain everything," Ryuji said, "Okay, so about 10 years ago when I went for my first physical with Dr. Takemi, she gave me the bright idea to go and donate some of my 'baby batter' to help a family trying to have a kid. I figured I didn't contribute much to this world, so I'd try and do something good by helping out a family who wanted to experience the joys of parenthood."
"You swear that's what happened?" Makoto asked, still being restrained by her daughter, her sister, and Hotaru.
"Mom, you know dad would never lie to you or do anything to hurt you," Himari said, "He loves you!"
Hearing that made Makoto calm down in time for the lady to find the group so she could reclaim her purse. She also arrived on the scene with a security guard.
"That's him, officer!" The lady said, "That's the purse snatcher."
"Do either of you know this young boy?" The security guard asked.
"Yes, sir," Ryuji said, ready to stretch the truth, "I'm sorry for my son's actions, ma'am. I assure you it won't happen again."
With that, Ryuji hands the purse back to the lady who just glares at the little boy angrily.
"See that it doesn't," The lady said as she and the security guard leave the scene.
"Thanks for bailing me out, old man of mine," The rollerblade kid says to Ryuji as he freed himself from his grip, "Now if you excuse me, I'm going to skedaddle before-"
"Not so fast, slick," Hotaru says as he and Himari block his way.
"We're returning you home to your actual parents, and we're going to tell them what you did here today," Sae said.
Hearing that made the rollerblade kid's face drop.
"Parents…right," the kid said in a depressed tone, "Listen, about that, can I show you where I live?"
"Of course you can," Ryuta said, "Where you live is where your parents live, right?"
"Yeah," The kid said, the depressed tone not having gone anywhere at all, "Just follow me."
"How do we know you won't try and ditch us somewhere?" Ryuji said.
"Would one of you like to hold my hand?" The kid asked, attitude in his voice.
"I will," Sae said as she took the kid by the hand.
The kid wouldn't admit it then, but he enjoyed having his hand held as a pleased and somewhat happy look on his face appeared. Almost as if the kid hadn't known parental love in ages.
"Okay, follow me," The kid said.
"By the by, what's your name?" Himari asked.
"Hmm?" The kid asked.
"If my dad donated some of his sperm so you could come into existence, that technically makes you my half-brother," Himari said, "My name is Himari. What's yours?"
All the kid said before he guided everyone out of the mall and to his living quarters was, "Yutaka."
Yutaka eventually lead the group of eight to a seemingly abandoned water tower in the heart of Tokyo.
"Here we are," Yutaka said as the eight looked up the ladder at the water tower. As the group looked up at the tower, Yutaka went over to some nearby bushes and turned on a battery powered generator that was hooked up to the water tower.
"You and your folks live in a water tower?" Hayato asked, perplexed.
"Ah, the dream hangout spot of any 90s kid," Ryuta said, blissfully.
"Well, let's climb," Yutaka said as he removed the wheels from his skates so he could climb the ladder easier.
One by one, everyone started to climb the ladder. Yutaka seemed to handle climbing great heights with as much poise and confidence as he could muster, but the other eight seemed a little nervous.
"Am I the only one thinking we're a little high right now?" Hayato asked, nervously.
"Just don't look down, sweetie, you should be fine," Hifumi said as they continued climbing
"What a thrill," Ryuji sang as he climbed up the ladder, "With darkness and silence through the night! What a thrill! I'm searching and I'll melt into you! What a fear in my heart! But you're so supreme!"
"Dad, are you singing the main theme of Steel Cog Rigid 3: Snake Chomper?" Himari asked.
"Sorry, I just couldn't resist," Ryuji said before belting out the final lyrics of the song, "I'm still in a dream, Snake Chomper!...snake chomper…"
Eventually, the nine of them made it to the top of the watertower as Yutaka showed them the door that leads to the inside. He opens the door and everyone steps inside to find that the interior of the water tower looked like one hell of a hangout spot. Posters and artwork covered the walls along with colorful light fixtures to give the room a chill atmosphere. The lights, and any other electronics in Yutaka's possession were being powered with the battery powered generator outside. All over the floor were a variety of books, comics, movies, toys, and video games. In one corner of the tower was a small T.V with a few video game consoles hooked up to it so Yutaka could have some entertainment. In another corner of the room sat a radio with some CDs next to it. In yet another corner of the room as a twin sized air mattress with a pillow and a blanket on it; a place where Yutaka could rest his head at night. Next to that bed is a mini-fridge filled with snacks and beverages.
"Welcome to Casa del Yutaka, everybody," Yutaka said as he plopped himself down on a beanbag chair, "Sorry I don't have any other chairs, as you can imagine I don't get company that often."
"It's whatever, dude," Hotaru said.
"I can at least offer you all something to eat and drink," Yutaka said, "You guys want anything."
"No, we're good," Makoto said.
"So, where are your parents anyway so we can talk to them?" Ryuji asked.
"Well, as you're about to find out in a few seconds," Yutaka began, machismo and a laid back attitude covering a hidden sadness, "It's just me here."
"You mean, you, a 10 year old boy, live on your own in this water tower?" Himari asked.
"Bingo!" Yutaka said.
"For real?" Ryuji asked, "You don't have a family or anything like that?"
"Nope," Yutaka replied, his sadness slowly but surely creeping out.
"Then how could you afford all of these possessions if you have no parents that were willing to give them to you?" Hifumi asked.
"I stole them, duh," Yutaka said.
"You stole all of this?" Ryuta asked, almost impressed.
"Yup," Yutaka said, "I got really lucky when that doctor made that 'love potion' everyone raved on and on about two and a half years ago. With all of the adults and teenagers playing 'Hide the Salami' with their significant others, I practically ran this city. I could go anywhere and take anything virtually unopposed."
"Now that you mention it, around the same time Dr. Takemi put her Love Potion on store shelves, crimes like theft went straight up," Makoto said.
"Wait, you said that was over two years ago," Hotaru said to Yutaka, "How long have you lived like this anyway?"
"It's not a pretty story, but since you asked, I'll tell you," Yutaka said as he started to tell his story.
Flashback: 10 Years Ago
We begin this flashback in the delivery room of a hospital where Yutaka was born to a wealthy family after Ryuji donated his sperm to them.
"It's a boy!" the doctor said happily as he handed Baby Yutaka to the mother.
"I was born into a rather rich and well off family," Yutaka explained, "And I had the upbringing you'd expect someone with a silver spoon born in their mouth to have."
Fast forward about five years after Yutaka was born, we see him sitting at the dinner table with his rich mother and father as butlers and maids give them each a steak dinner. We then see Yutaka playing with toys and video games in his playroom. The next thing we see is Yutaka's parents homeschooling him in the mansion's study. Finally, we see Yutaka sitting on his father's lap as he told his son a story while his mother read from a book in the adjacent chair.
"Maids and butlers ready and willing to cater to your every whim," Yutaka said, "All the toys and games I could ever want. The best education money can buy. And above all, a mother and father who loved me unconditionally. Life really didn't get any sweeter."
We then see the young Yutaka sound asleep in bed until a crashing noise and his parents screaming wake him up. He get out of his room to investigate and when he made it to the living room he found both of his parents dead as a group of men wearing black ski masks ransack the home and even start a fire. In horror, Yutaka ran out of the mansion before he was spotted. We then see Yutaka on a hilltop watching as the mansion he once called home burned to the ground, tears streaming down his face as he ran away to parts unknown.
"But on the night before my sixth birthday, something terrible happened," Yutaka said, "These men broke into our home and killed both of my parents. Apparently my father made some bad deals with the Yakuza and they came to teach my old man a lesson. I didn't know what to do, so I just ran. I ran and I never looked back. The place and people that I once called home, gone in an instant."
Yutaka is now seen on the streets of Tokyo, still wearing the pajamas he wore on the night his parents got killed, but now they're dirty and damaged. Reduced to nothing more than a young beggar on the street, very few pedestrians would pay him any mind, but the ones that did just threw him chump change. We then see young Yutaka walking down the street, a car driving by splashing him with water when it drove over a puddle, causing him to drop whatever yen he managed to earn and most of it falling down a storm drain.
"Reduced to nothing more than a lowly street urchin, I thought the public would take care of me, a little boy down his luck," Yutaka continued, "But they didn't care. To them I was worthless. I was lower than the dirt we walk on, and my luck showed no signs of turning."
This is when Yutaka resorted to stealing in order to survive. He stole anything he could get his hands on, and as the years went by he got better at it. So much so that he upped the ante and started stealing more than just food and clothes. He started stealing material things, his rollerblades being one of them, as the flashback ends with Yutaka finding his water tower, getting settled in there, and running away from various cops and citizens.
"Left with no other choice, I started to steal just to survive," Yutaka said, "At least, it started out as a need to survive, but as time went on, the more experience I got, and the older I got, the more addicting and fun thievery became. I stole just about anything you could imagine, even the rollerblades that you know me for. Once I got those, nobody could catch me. I set up base in this abandoned water tower where no one would think to find me. And that's pretty much how my life went these last five years, going from one shop to the next and stealing whatever I could."
End Flashback
"Well, there you have it," Yutaka said.
"You poor thing," Sae said, sadly, "You lost your family and home at such a young age and resorted to stealing just to survive."
"Not only that, but you soon acquired a thrill for it," Ryuta chimed in, equally sad, "A boy of your age shouldn't have to steal anything or live in this water tower."
"Save me your sympathies," Yutaka said, coldly, but still sounding a little sad, "I didn't tell you my story so you could feel sorry for me or want to help me."
"How could we not feel sorry for you, Yutaka?" Hotaru asked, "I've heard a lot of sad stories in my time, but yours just might be the saddest I've ever heard. You mean to tell me you don't miss having a family, even just a little bit?"
"Are you kidding? I never needed family," Yutaka said, completely in denial, as he stood up, "I'm doing just fine all by myself! I don't need family now, I won't need family in the future, and I don't need the sympathy of my sperm donor of a biological father and his merry band of idiots."
As Yutaka ranted and raved, his voice was breaking. The sad, scared, and lonely little boy hiding under his tough exterior was finally coming out.
"I can get through life just fine by myself!" Yutaka continued, "I…I…I…I HATE THIS!"
As Ryuta broke down into tears, Sae and Ryuta ran up to him and hugged him.
"Hey, hey, it'll be okay," Ryuta said in a soothing tone.
"What do you mean it'll be okay," Yutaka sobbed, "I'm all alone! No friends! No family! All I know is loneliness and how to steal! I didn't ask for this life! I didn't ask to be born! And I definitely didn't ask to be 'sold off' so I could face these misfortunes."
In that last statement, Yutaka shot a hateful, teary-eyed glare at Ryuji.
"I just want things to go back to the way they were," Yutaka said, "But the little boy I used to be is gone now. I'm in too deep and I don't think there's any saving me."
"That's where you're wrong, Yutaka," Sae said as the boy looked at her, "If you're that serious about hating this lifestyle and wanting things to go back to the way they were, you can come live with Ryuta and I."
"Yeah," Ryuta nodded.
"Are you guys serious?" Yutaka asked, wiping tears from his eyes.
"We may not be loaded like your last family," Ryuta said, "But Sae and I can love you just as much as your last family."
"On top of that we'll do everything in our power to turn you into a law abiding citizen," Sae added, "We'll take you in as our own, but only if you promise to turn over a new leaf and leave this way of life behind you."
Yutaka thought for a few seconds before nodding, "Okay," he said, "I'll do it."
"Yutaka," Ryuta said, "I think this'll prove to be the smartest decision you'll ever make."
"We'll help you guys in rehabilitating Yutaka if you want," Makoto offered.
"That'd be great, Makoto, thanks," Sae smiled.
"So, what do we do now?" Yutaka asked.
"Well, first thing's first, we'd better tell our friends about you," Ryuji said as he took out his phone, ready to call up his friends, "We like to keep them in the loop of things going on in our lives, and if you're serious about rolling with us, Yutaka, it would be a good idea for you to get acquainted with them."
"Alright," Yutaka said with a shrug of his shoulders as Ryuji got on the phone to try and contact his friends, "You know, you really didn't have to take me in if you don't want to. I can take care of myself."
"We know," Sae said, "But we wanted to."
Later at Cafe Kitamura, The Sakamotos, The Yajimas, Sae, and Ryuta were seen introducing Yutaka to the rest of the gang. Since Minato is away at college, Kimiko managed to get him over FaceTime
"So this is the guy who teamed up with that Lyra girl during the dance marathon last year?" Nariko asked as he looked at the young boy before her.
"Yup," Ryuta said, "Say hi to the newest member of our group, Yutaka!"
"Uh, hi," Yutaka said with an awkward wave.
"We found out that Yutaka is living all by himself in a water tower not far from here," Sae said, "Ryuta and I decided to take him in and rehabilitate him so he can become a law abiding citizen."
"How altruistic of you two," Ichiro said.
"Although I can't help but wonder why he looks so familiar," Futaba chimed in.
"That's because Ryuji donated some of his, ahem, essence to a wealthy family so they could have Yutaka," Makoto explained.
When Makoto said that, Ren and Yusuke get wide eyed looks on their faces, almost as if they remembered something.
"But some big, mean Yakuza dudes ended up killing his family, leaving him homeless and living the water tower Auntie Sae mentioned," Himari said.
"How awful," Ann frowned.
"If there's anything we can do in terms of helping you guys reform Yutaka, just say the word," Yuuki added.
"We appreciate the offer, Mishima, but I think we got this," Ryuta said.
"Well, regardless, we're glad to have you on board, Yutaka," Kas smiled.
"Whatever," Yutaka said.
"To celebrate his arrival, what do you all say we have a big party?" Riku suggested.
"If you don't mind, I'd like to save the parties for after Yutaka is properly reformed," Sae said.
"Got it, Auntie Sae," Riku said.
"So I guess that's all you have to tell us?" Sumire asked.
"Pretty much," Ryuta said, "But just you wait, this time next month, Yutaka will be much different than when you last saw him."
"We'll hold you all to it," Mitsu said.
"I guess we'll show you where you'll be living," Sae asked Yutaka.
"Sure," Yutaka said, a small smile on his face. In his mind, it would be nice to be able to sleep in an actual bed again.
As the Yajimas, the Sakamotos, Sae, Ryuta, and Yutaka left Cafe Kitamura, Ren and Yusuke began to converse silently to themselves.
"Did you hear what I heard about Yutaka?" Ren asked the artist.
"He was the result of Ryuji's 'donation'," Yusuke answered, "Hearing that made me think of when I did the same thing."
"Me too," Ren said, "Have you told Haru, Mana, and Mitsu about what you did?"
"No," Yusuke answered, "What about Ann and your kids?"
"I haven't told Kimiko or Minato, and I don't even know if Ann remembers," Ren said, "Remember, I told you she was a little tipsy when she dared me to do it?"
"Yeah, I remember," Yusuke said, "Should we tell them now?"
"Might as well," Ren said as he and Yusuke turned to their respective family members, "Ann, Kimiko, Minato, I need to talk to you outside real quick."
"Haru, Mana, Mitsu, you girls too," Yusuke chimed in.
"Sure dad, whatever you need," Minato said over FaceTime.
"Kaito, since we've treated you like one of the family since day one, you're more than welcome to come with us," Ren added.
"Okay, thanks," Kaito said with a smile.
With that, Ren, Ann, Kimiko with her phone containing Minato's call in hand, Kaito, Morgana, Yusuke, Haru, Mana, and Mitsu stepped outside in the alleyway to talk.
"So what did you want to talk to us about?" Mitsu asked.
"Hearing about Ryuji's sperm donation made Yusuke and I remember something we did in the past, long before any of you kids were born," Ren said.
"Wait, you mean you guys donated some of your…ahem…juices too?" Kaito asked.
"Yes, Kaito," Yusuke said, "In my case I needed the last bit of money necessary to buy Haru a beautiful wedding ring. Donating my essence sounded like the easiest way to make that money."
"And my donation happened when Ann and I studied in Kyoto," Ren said.
"When did that happen?" Ann asked, "I would've remembered you doing something like that."
"If you remember, sweetie, you had a few too many on the night you dared me to donate," Ren said, "Remember? You passed a test that you thought you were going to fail. When you learned you passed, you celebrated by bringing home some wine coolers and while I had one or two, you went a little off the wagon. After that you and I played 'Truth or Dare' where you dared me to donate some of my sperm. I wasn't going to do it, but then you said if I didn't then 'lovin'' was off the table that night. So, I found a 24 hour clinic nearby, and the rest was history."
"Now that you mention it, babe, it is all starting to come back to me," Ann said, "And yeah, I did get pretty blitzed."
"Did you really threaten to take sex off the table if Uncle Ren didn't do what you told him to do, Auntie Ann?" Mana asked.
"That sounds like something I'd probably do," Ann said as she was starting to remember that night.
"Wow, men really will do anything to get some," Kimiko said.
"As women, using sex as a means to get whatever we want is kind of our superpower, Kimiko," Haru said.
"Hmm, noted," Kimiko said as she smirked towards Kaito.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Kaito asked, nervously.
"Both Yusuke and I donated over twenty years ago," Ren said, "Our respective children are a few years older than you kids. I'll admit there are moments where I wonder what became of my 'donation'. What kind of person did he/she grow up to become?"
"I often wonder the same thing, Ren," Yusuke said, "But would they even want to see us is the question."
"I imagine they would love to see you two," Minato said, "You did give them life after all."
"I'd personally like to see the result of dad's donation," Mitsu said, "Mana and I have always wanted a big brother or sister."
"We don't even know how to go about looking for them," Ren said.
"Well, I'm sure the clinics you two went to have records somewhere," Haru said, "We can call them up tomorrow and see if they know who has your respective escenses."
"That's an excellent idea, darling," Yusuke exclaimed.
"Oh, ho, ho!" Kimiko giggled, "I feel a grand adventure coming on!"
"I wonder if Chester Bolt would do a 'Datemark' on us if we go through with this?" Minato asked. (He's referencing Lester Holt and Dateline)
"We're not doing this to get fame, Minato," Ren said, "Yusuke and I just want to see what kind of person our respective 'donation babies' grew up to be. And it'll give you, Kimiko, Mana, and Mitsu a chance to see meet your older-half siblings."
"I hope mine and Mitsu's half-sibling is a nice person," Mana hoped.
"If they're the the product of your father, they must be," Haru said, optimistically.
"Uncle Ren, can I come too?" Kaito asked.
"Like I said, Kaito, you've been dating Kimiko for so long that both Ann and I treat you like one of the family," Ren said, "Of course you can come, but only if your parents say it's okay."
"Yes!" Kaito said with a fist pump before calling out for his mother inside Cafe Kitamura, "Mom! Can I go with the Amamiyas on a journey to find Uncle Ren's sperm donation child?"
"Sure!" Shiho said from inside the cafe, "Don't forget to bring back milk!"
"I got the green light guys!" Kaito said happily.
"Alright!" Kimiko cheered.
"I'll try and meet you guys at Kyoto so we can visit that clinic together," Minato said.
"Sounds great, son," Ren said.
"Alright, everyone, we know what we have to do," Haru said, "Let's do this!"
"Yeah!" The group nodded in agreement.
Later that night, we cut to the apartment that Sae and Ryuta share as they brought Yutaka there to live with them. After a nice home cooked meal and a shower, Yutaka was certainly feeling refreshed, and now he's wearing some pajamas that Sae went out and bought for him. Sae and Ryuta are now showing Yutaka to his room; originally the apartment's guest bedroom.
"Hey, uh, thank you for taking me in and everything," Yutaka said, almost meekly, "You know, the food, the bath, these PJs."
"We're glad to be of assistance to you, Yutaka," Ryuta said.
"So, where am I going to sleep?" Yutaka asked.
"We set up the guest bedroom for you," Sae answered as she opened the door to the guest bedroom, revealing a luxurious queen sized bed with white sheets and a dark blue blanket.
