Authors Notes- And here I am with yet another Transformers fanfic. And this one is going to be quite a bit dark and such so huge warning there. And as you know I don't own Transformers that belongs to Hasbro. I sorta own the plot, so there is that. Now, that we got that out of the way here is Chapter One of Gilded earth.
Warning: Just a warning there is character death in this first chapter. So, if you're not keen on reading about some beloved characters from the show biting the big one then maybe you should skip this chapter.
Chapter One: When Our Nightmare Began
There are a lot of things June Darby never expected to see during all her years as a nurse. Or even as a regular human being. One was being a mother, a single mother, but a moment none the less. To a teenage boy who had continued to surprise her more and more over the years. And that was before the Autobots. And now, she was witnessing yet another thing she never thought she never thought she would be alive to witness. The complete and utter destruction of her planet.
Blue eyes wide, as her phone, the one she had been using to contact her son with, only to have it go straight to voice mail over and over again. As from the Heaven's a bright beam of blue light emerged, and with it destruction. And she had known the Decepticons had been behind it. However, June thought, as she peered through the bars of her cage, peering into the nearly impenetrable darkness that surrounded her cage.
What happened to Jasper was just the beginning. And as she sat in her cage, suspended high above the ground, she ran a hand through her messy black hair. Grimacing at how dirty it felt, she thought back to the days, weeks, months? Since they had lost contact with the Autobots. Well...June mused, as she pulled the ratty scrap of fabric around herself as she leaned against the bars. Lost contact was a hopeful term. Though she knew that when the Decepticons had tracked down, and attacked the Autobot base all but a few had escape. Many Autobots such as Arcee, Bulkhead, and Bumblebee were MIA.
But sadly the Autobots like Optimus Prime and Ratchet were a few of the casualties. As for Smokescreen and Wheeljack? No one knew. For all June knew the wrecker could have gone up in flames along with his ship. As for how she knew Optimus and Ratchet were deceased? Or as Megatron had called it when he first addressed June and the children, one with the All Spark.
She remembered when the Decepticon warlord made a show of one of their lifeless bodies. June remembered clasping a hand over her mouth, tears welling in her eyes as she looked down at the fallen Autobot leader. Remembering when she had first met him, she had been captivated by him, and now he lay dead at his long time nemesis' feet. And if that wasn't all? Megatron, obviously not happy with having Optimus' lifeless body before him made a show of ripping his head from his body. Much to the horror of herself, and the kids.
June recalled the bloodcurdling scream of Jack as Megatron did this, before moving to do the same to poor Ratchet. June didn't know, nor did she want to know what that monster did with their heads. But it wouldn't surprise her he had put them on display as a warning for any surviving Autobots. A warning that they would suffer the same fate as their leader and medic if they so much as set foot around here. As for June, Fowler, and the kids? Well, June thought, as she tossed the blanket off of her, and got to her feet an began to pace around the cage.
She didn't know what Megatron and his merry band of Decepticons had in store for them, but she knew for poor Agent Fowler...William... He had met his end at the hands of Starscream and his armada. Fowler had gone out fighting and in a fiery blaze as well. And June would give him credit. He did manage to take out a few of Starscream's armada before he went down. And as for the rest of them well... June continued to pace, her cage shifting slightly. Who knew what the Decepticons had planned for them if anything. For all she knew they could end up being kept as pets. Pets, playthings, science experiments, June didn't want to know.
All she knew was that they had been separated, placed into these cages, and given to different Decepticons. Miko had been given to Starscream, the seeker seeming to take joy in toying with the girl. As the girl shouted threats and obscenities at him through the bars she was pressed against. Until with one flick of his finger he knocked her flat on her butt, but that did not seem to deter Miko as she continued to shout at the SIC. June had watched as the two of them disappeared to god knew where, Miko screaming all the while. As June muttered a small prayer for the girl.
Next to go was Raf, who was given to Soundwave. The silent, faceless Decepticon saying nothing as he picked up the cage with the sobbing boy, and walking away. Next was Jack, and much to June's growing horror it was Megatron who chose the boy for himself. It was June's turn to scream, as she watched as Megatron picked up Jack's cage, sneering at Jack, who despite everything seemed calm, fearless as Megatron peered into the cage.
A cold smile on Megatron's lips. As for June? She got stuck with Knock Out, she guessed she had gotten lucky, she had happened to over hear Shockwave discussing with Megatron about some experiment or other? A chill running down her spine when the Decepticon scientist turned his single optic in her direction.
God, she hoped he wasn't talking about her and the kids. But she had lucked out, the cherry red Decepticon had all but ignored her when they had arrived at his quarters. Sure, he had taken care of he needs whatever they may be, but otherwise he was always gone. Leaving her to her thoughts just like tonight she was alone... Or so she thought, as from the darkness the door hissed open, and in stepped the last person she ever wanted to see.
Megatron.
Authors Notes- Yeah, this was just one big flashback on June's part. But I hope you liked it, and I'll try and get the next chapter out shortly. And just a heads up this story isn't going to be a feel good story, if you haven't figured that out by now. And I have nothing else to say other than this is The Exhausted Writer signing off, have a goodnight.
