In a typical Pokémon center, Nurse Joy was helping out a trainer with their pokeballs.
"Alright, your Pokémon are good as new. You have a good day now and be gentle with them."
As the last Pokémon trainer was leaving, another came rushing in.
"Nurse Joy, I've got a problem." Said the trainer.
"What is it?" Asked Nurse Joy.
"It's this."
The trainer got out a luxury ball and opened it to reveal a Meloetta.
Nurse Joy was astonished.
"How were you able to catch a Meloetta?" She asked the trainer.
"Well I was in the meadow taking photos and- wait, I'm not telling you my secrets. Besides, even if I did it probably wouldn't do you any good cause this Meloetta I caught is defective."
"Defective? How so?"
"It never keeps its balance when it walks and no matter how much I try teaching it a new song, it won't learn anything; it won't even make any noise"
Curious, Nurse Joy examined the Meloetta. It looked like any other Meloetta from all the photographs ever taken of ones that she had seen. Nurse Joy stood Meloetta up only for it to fall down. This made Nurse Joy even more curious.
She decided to clap her hands and snap her fingers in front of Meloetta, but Meloetta didn't respond.
"Well no wonder; this Meloetta is deaf; probably from a birth defect in its inner ears. I'm glad you found it; handicapped Pokémon often don't do well in the wild."
"Well that's no good; how am I supposed to fight with this Meloetta?"
"Well it may be difficult, but I recommend patience and-"
Nurse Joy was shocked to see the trainer gone, only to leave Meloetta behind. She couldn't believe he would just abandon his Pokémon like that. Not knowing what to do, Nurse Joy looked at Meloetta who looked up at her in confusion.
"Looks like you'll have to stay here for a while, Meloetta."
