Afterglow

Chapter 29

Lucas didn't remember falling asleep. But when he awoke. He found Brooke changing the boys into outfits. He smiled at the sight of their names on the clothing.

"How are you still awake?" Lucas asked.

"After you changed them. Awhile ago. They were up and fussing so i thought why not change them into their going home outfits."

"Blaine and Blake Scott. Our boys." Lucas said softly.

Brooke smiled warmly. "You're editor was calling." She informed him.

"I'll call him back. Do you need me for anything?" Lucas asked.

"I'm going to try feeding them then i was thinking we could give them a bath today." Brooke replied.

"Let's try it. Brooke Davis as a boy mom."

"Feels right to me. In a few years we can try for another baby."

"A girl then." Lucas proclaimed.

"Maybe. A daughter who looks like you. My heart would burst open. You with a daughter. She would get the world." Brooke said.

"She would get that and more. Only when you're ready for that." Lucas stated matter of fact.

The boys started to cry and Brooke felt her breasts ache.

She picked up one Blake and started to let him eat.

Lucas wanted to give the three of them some time alone.

So he left the bedroom with his cellphone and made his way downstairs to his home office.

He called back his editor who happened to be his long time friend Jimmy Edwards.

"Are you coming back to the office anytime soon?" Jimmy asked. Shutting the door to his office.

"I had told you i need time off. 3 months maybe more." Lucas explained.

"Why is that?" Jimmy asked.

"Brooke had the babies. Our sons. I want to be there as much as possible." Lucas added in.

"That's all well and good but my job is to make sure you reach the best of you're ability. Where you're career goes is for us to work towards together." Jimmy replied.

"Honestly i'll need you in the office sooner then a few months from now." Jimmy added in.

Brooke carefully placed the boys down. They were back to sleep now. She pulled up her nursing top. She stared at her body in the mirror.

Her emotions were all over the place. She longed to feel like herself again but knew it would take time.
