Afterglow

Chapter 30

"I understand you have a job to do. But i'm the writer. I make my schedule and i need time off and once i get back to the office us working together can happen. But until then."

"I need to put my family first. I'll see you in 6 months Jimmy." Lucas replied. Before ending the call between them.

It was the echo of knocking at the front door that drew Lucas away from his home office. He was opened the door. And was taken off guard by the sight of Haley.

"What are you." Lucas began to say.

"Friends fight. Say things they don't mean. It's okay. We forgive each other and move on."

"Now i've kept my distance long enough. Time for aunt Haley to meet those boys." Haley said.

Lucas's eyes went wide. "Haley i need to go before Brooke knows you're here." He replied.

"Women come and go. But us and our friendship that's forever." Haley said.

"Luke the boys will be awake in awhile."

"I think once they are. We should try." Brooke started to say.

Brooke glared at Haley. "How do you show up in our home after everything that's happened? You have no sense of boundaries of self respect!" She exclaimed.

"Lucas came to check in on me." Haley announced.

Lucas sighed deeply. Feeling his heart sink.

"A lifelong friendship doesn't outweigh whatever you've been able to trap him into. I mean from what i hear."

"Those boys look more Davis then Scott."

"I mean that reputation you had in high school. Did carry on past high school i mean Tree Hill is a small town that doesn't believe in privacy." Haley proclaimed.

Brooke felt her body leap forward as she pushed Haley and slapped her. Before going upstairs.
