Luz froze at the sight of what King had in his hands. The faceplate to her mark 1 armor, Eda noticed Luz tense and grabbed the mask away from King, shooing him away before Leading Luz to the couch (she noticed the far away look in her eyes).Eda was about to speak until there was a knock at her door, she opened it to reveal what she assumed to be Luz's friends "hello miss owl lady, is Luz here?" the one with glasses asked "yes she is but she's currently going through some trauma at the moment" Eda replied to Luz's friends shock.

After a moment the one with glasses spoke again "can we see her? We might be able to help" after a moment she moved to let them in and we walked over to Luz who seemingly snapped out of it as she was holding the mark 1 faceplate in both hands while looking at it. Eda along with Gus and Willow approached Luz and sit down beside her. After a few moments Eda asks "so, what's the history between you and this mask kid?" Luz seemed to tense up at the mention of the memory but relaxed almost immediately afterwards "it's a long story and not a good one either" Luz spoke in a melancholic tone "Well, we got the time" the one with glasses said with the sort one agreeing "thank you Willow and Gus" Luz said while seeming to prepare to remember some painful memories.

Flashback

We see a young Luz strapped to a chair with a man explaining what he wants from her "all I want from you is new and better missile designs along with a prototype of that missile to use. Do that and you and your mother will go free" the man said as she was untied and thrown into a cave and the door locked. Luz quickly got to her feet and looked around, after a moment she got to work designing the mark 1 and constructing it.

The next day they brought her mother into her cave/cell to help her with the missiles. A month later full of beatings and watching her mother get beat in front of her she finished the mark 1 and perfected the arc reactor that she had to put in her chest after a particularly harsh beating with a rusty pipe. Luz powers on the mark 1 after she got ready and hid Camila she busts out of there killing everyone in the compound. Luz the got Camila and radioed for help if which the U.S military came and picked them up. After that they moved to Gravesfield in order to remain undetected by the same or any other terrorist groups that would want to force Luz to make weapons for them.

End Flashback

"The mark one as well as the arc reactor in my chest remains as a reminder of that day and why I will continue to build new suits to help people" Luz explained to the now shell shocked group. After a moment King who'd been listening in on the story ran up to Luz with tears in his eye and hugged her along with Hooty who nuzzled against her with Willow, Gus and even Eda joining on on the group hug. Meanwhile on the outside of the house we see a certain green haired girl with brown roots silently crying right under the window having just overheard the entire story.

She peaks into the house seeing Luz lift her shirt to reveal an arc reactor situated just below her collar bone, her eyes widen before she quickly leaves with a slight blush dusting her face. After an hour of Luz hanging out with Willow and Gus they leave and Luz goes to her room while checking the progress on the Lab which was at 66.9% completion. Luz went to sleep happy to get some of her trauma off her chest.

The next morning Luz woke up at sunrise and put on winter clothing with the mark 2 over them and started to walk outside until she was stopped by Eda. "What in titans name are you doing now" Eda questions "I'm going to see the height limit I can go to before icing out as well as doing some other important tests" Luz responded going out the door and taking off.

4 hours later

Eda had stood outside the owl house waiting for Luz to come back so she could give her the daily deliveries when she seen a small object falling and fast until she could make out the mark 2 falling until it stopped and slowly fell down. "Here's the potion deliveries for today" Eda said as Luz took them and left. Eda was about to go back inside until she noticed that principal Bump was walking towards her, she walked to him "Bump"

"Edalyn" they greeted each other curtly as Eda noticed the envelope in his hands "I take it this isn't to chat about the old times?" She questioned "no, no, I'm here to hand miss Noceda Stark her acceptance letter for hexide but she must not be here right now" Bump responded as he handed Eda Luz's acceptance letter and left.

A few minutes later Luz returns and is handed the acceptance letter. Luz just opens it and reads it and is shocked to find that correcting the principle on 2 rules gained her entry into hexide due to another rule about how the principle should know all the rules and that correcting the principle grant's (If a child) a full scholarship into hexide. After the shock wore off Luz asked Eda something "Eda could you help me in an experiment, it won't take long I promise" Eda after some thought agreed as Luz brought out an arc reactor, an electromagnet along with a pair of tinted glasses out "what's that for?" Eda asked curiously "the reactor and the magnet is for the test as for these glasses, they'll allow me to hopefully see magic and the arc reactor along with the magnet are to test a theory about magic being magnetic" Luz explained to Eda.

2 minutes later

Luz was ecstatic as her theory about magic being magnetic was true and seemed to act like an inverted version of iron (when iron is being pulled, magic is being pushed and vice versa) and not only did the arc reactor draw in more magic then the electromagnet, it draws in enough to create a large fireball every second, this means as long as she find a way to use it she'll have magic and an unlimited source at that. Luz quickly did a test with some nanites and the other reactor as the source of magic, she seen that the magic transfers through the nanites with a negligible loss of magic, she used the nanites to form a visible line to the palms of her hands and concentrates on forming a ball of light on each hand but nothing happened, even when she tried different configurations of the nanites and different casting methods. After a wile she asked Eda to put on the glasses and look at the ark reactor to see if there was any magic there at all and to her surprise Eda almost went blind by how much magic was there. After that Eda and Luz went to bed with Luz inputting the data she learned from todays test and checking the bunkers progress before she did so "99.5%, almost done" Luz said as she drifted off to sleep.
