The students of Class One A sat in their seats as Aizawa continued to write on the blackboard before flicking it and hitting Kaminari in the head. "Only warning, don't sleep in my or any other class." The electric blonde nodded his head before Aizawa looked at his homeroom students. "Overall performance wasn't too bad compared to most freshmen but like all new tadpoles, there will always be room for improvement in your path of a hero. Kaminari, you will need to learn how to control your electricity or get some type of support gear that'll help because you can't afford to short circuit and just indiscriminately shock everyone around you. Bakugo you need to keep your aggression contained. It's good to be assertive and passionate but to not listen to your teammate and cause collateral damage, you have potential so don't waste it. Same goes for you Uzumaki, keep the collateral damage to a minimum. You could have caused a lot more damage if there was more than one bomb or if your attack had caused the bomb to go off."
Aizawa let them know that there were others who did perform adequately and needed improvement but that was why they were here, to learn by actual pros and improve.
After that, he began with class. Class One A were changed into their gym clothes and made their way outside onto the track field. "Today we will be doing something different for our workouts. Like I said back inside the classroom, many of you who don't have a strengthening augmentation quirk of some kind rely too heavily on your quirks and not your actual body. Don't forget that your quirks rely on your body's natural strengths to improve, so today I will pick three leaders to lead their teams through a rigorous circuit." Most of the class paled at the word rigorous and wondered who would lead the teams since there will be an odd number of people in one team. Aizawa scanned his class for several minutes before calling his three leaders. "Uzumaki Izuku, Haizono Konako, Ida Tenya are the team leaders. There will be two teams of seven and a team of six, you all have one minute to pick your team." Once that minute was up there were two teams of seven and a team of six.
Ida team of seven consisted of Aoyama Yuga, Shoji Mezo, Bakugo Katsuki, Sero Hanta, Kaminari Denki, Hagakure Toru
Haizono team of seven consisted of Sato Rikido, Ojiro Mashirao, Todoroki Shoto, Kodia Koji, Asui Tsuyu, Jiro Kyoka
Uzumaki team of six consisted of Kirishima Eijiro, Tokoyami Fumikage, Uraraka Ochako, Ashido Mina Yaoyorozu Momo
"Here is what we're gonna do for the next hour and a half. There are gonna be a variety of exercises that will be done in pairs such as Fireman carrying, Log carrying and group push up racing. Individual exercises will be push ups, pull-ups, and wall climbing." Everyone listened in disbelief at what they were hearing, wishing this was either a prank or that they had some type of Augmentation quirk at the moment. "All team members are required to do all of it, team leaders will have one more requirement." Stepping aside was a small box. "Team leaders come get your stuff." Izuku waked forward and pulled out two ankle weights. "The life of a pro is about being stronger and smarter than the villians you face in times of adversity, now once your leaders put on their weights we will begin."
What followed next was pure torture and even Izuku could feel the burn. The first event was one hundred individual push ups in which they all had to be in sync when going down and up. Several members on each team who weren't as strong had struggled on this but the first team to move on was Team Uzumaki who started their fireman carrying right after. Each member had to carry each other thirty yards and back, before moving on. Team Ida followed with Team Haizono a few seconds behind. Fireman carrying is mainly focused on speed as one person lays their body across another's shoulders with their legs locked around one arm and pressing on their lower back, as long as the person being carried ain't in an awkward position then it is a pretty easy task.
The first one was Izuku who effortlessly carried his team back and forth the thirty yards, half way through Team Ida and Haizono came and began carrying their teammates. Even without using his quirk Ida was one of the fastest in his class and was able to finish up just as Kirishima was carrying his second person. Haizono took a bit longer as she wasn't built nor had a quirk that helped her carry her heavier classmates nor the stamina, but she was able to finish as the other teams were on their second person. The one problem that all teams had was that one big heavy guy that out weighed the rest of the team, which sucked for the people who weren't the strongest or fastest. Team Uzumaki finished first again but Haizono finished seconds after and was catching up, Ida finishing a minute after and the three of them moving on to pull ups.
Between each event the teams were required to run to the next station and stay together, which made Team Uzumaki and Haizono start at the same time and Team Ida seconds behind them. Each team member would go two at a time doing a hundred pulls up, with Izuku, Shoji and Sato finishing them easily. They could drop down and switch to rest and recover, as long as each member did their required amount. The first to finish was Team Haizono as they took the lead and headed for the log carry, where all members would need to carry a fifteen meter log that weighed ninety kilograms (roughly two hundred pounds) fifty meters three times.
Team Haizono were finishing up their first lap, they were exhausted and hurting but they had the lead finally, but just as they finished the other two teams quickly got to work. For Team Uzumaki, they quickly started to make ground since their team leader had taken the middle and carrying most of the weight on his shoulders, his members were still struggling carrying the heavy log. Team Ida took a second with their physically strongest team member, Shoji Mezo, taking the middle and slowly started to cover ground. Just as Haizono had finished their second lap she could hear Team Uzumaki right behind them and closing in on them fast. Team Ida right behind them as they were making it back to finish their second lap, having gained enough momentum to start catching up.
As Team Haizono got to one end and started making their way back they were passed by Team Uzumaki who was slightly faster then them and finished first, throwing the log off their shoulders and making it to the wall climb. Haizono and her team finished a few seconds after and quickly followed after with Team Ida a minute behind them. In the far side of the field was a five story rock wall with footholds of various degrees, each member needed to climb up and over and in case they had lost their footing there were blue padded mats to catch them. Izuku quickly cleared the obstacle and began to catch his breath and he made sure to watch his teammates in case they started to fall, if they fell they would need to restart. As Izuku finished Team Haizono quickly jumped into action and her and Sato Rikido cleared it first, Ida's Team coming soon after with their masked team member clearing it first for them.
Everyone was tired but knowing there was one more event made them push through, with a mix of both teams coming over the top and climbing down. Team Uzumaki captalized on their six man team and were the first to make a run for the track for their last event. Team Haizono was right behind them and gaining ground with team Ida following after. Both Team Haizono and Uzumaki made it at the same time and quickly got everyone down and into position. The last event was the team push up race, in which they would line up with each member's legs on each other's shoulders and with every correct push up the last person in line would run to the front and it would continue till they did one lap on the track.
Team Uzumaki and Haizono quickly set off and Team Haizono started to take the lead as they rounded the first turn, Team Uzumaki behind by a second and Team Ida being right behind them but with having more of the less physically strong members, staggered behind the other two teams. Halfway through the push up racing every team member was drenched in sweat and sore muscles from places they had never known could be sore. Because they had little rest to recover between each event this was where members would make it or break it. The first to go down was Team Ida, where a slim blonde male with a feminine face arms gave out and he fell face first into the track.
With Team Ida having to take a small break, Team Haizono and Uzumaki were neck and neck but it was only a matter of time as they kept pace with each other. They were rounding the last corner with Team Ida slowly and steadily catching up, they could hear cursing behind them. They were two hundred feet from the end, each member struggling to keep pace but determined to beat the other. Hundred fifty feet, did a dark purple hair girl with earphone jacks stagger at the back for a split second letting Team Uzumaki to break the tie. A hundred feet and Izuku was running to the front when he noticed his teammates on the brink of passing out, he could see it as their bodies were shaking quite a bit. Fifty meters and they could see Aizawa at the finish line before they would finally be done.
Team Haizono was catching up at twenty five meters but Team Uzumaki still held the lead while Team Ida was right behind and trying to take the lead. It would be a close one but Aizawa watched closely as the top Two Teams closed the gap and as if in slow motion he watched as two large male hands crossed the finish line a split second apart. Team Ida followed ten seconds after and joined the other two teams sprawled out on the ground trying to catch their breath. "Well done class, and with time to spare." Unknown to his students, he was extremely proud of them for pushing past their physical limitations and finishing his brutal training circuit. He glanced at every student before landing his eyes on his green haired student who was faring far better than the rest, able to catch his breath faster and didn't look to be dying.
He had watched every one of his students through the events, saw how they pushed and ran and never gave up to the challenge of each event of the other teams. He saw their strength and their weaknesses and he saw their potential as future heroes and students of U.A, but he also saw the boy who dominated each event and stuck with his team through it all even when they were set back. Each team had their strengths and flaws and they had split up the more physical quirks between the teams and evened them out with the students who weren't. He needed to know if they were willing to push themselves and rise above the challenges and they indeed did so. "There's still time for one quick lesson, so go and change over and meet back in the classroom. You all have ten minutes." Aizawa made his way back inside wondering what this year had in store for Class One A. "Team Uzumaki wins."
Izuku was the first to stand up and he could tell some of his classmates would need the help up, if not helped to the locker room to change. "Anyone need a hand?" Several shouted yes and several just raised their hands, a chuckle escaping as he helped his class up. On the way back inside, Izuku had stuck with his female friends, congratulating them for making it through the end with him. "This was probably a piece of cake for you, Izu-kun!" Ochako said as she flashed him a smile! "I know right! But when it comes to physical activity, Izuku can beat practically anybody!" Mina praised. The girl's compliments made his cheeks burn red as he scratched the back of his head, but he also felt guilty because he couldn't tell them how he would have never been here if his father never came into his life. He couldn't tell anyone that he is quirkless even when he has this power but he promised himself that he would use it to save people and his community from any threats.
After a quick shower and changeover everyone started making their way to their seats, where Aizawa stood at the front. "Let today sink in. Just like every quirk has a limit, so does your body, but you can rise both to the next level with training. My job is to make sure each one of you make it to your second year with the most amount of progress I can." Through the rest of the class Aizawa gave tips on increasing their strength and had them think on how they can utilize their quirks in unique ways that complemented them. That day everyone understood why he was so hard on them and it made them respect him as their homeroom even more and as a Pro-hero. Even as tired and sore as they were, they kept his advice through the day and soon made it to lunch.
At a table within the bustling cafeteria, several Class One A students sat together enjoying the food cooked up by Lunch Rush, a Pro Hero who specializes in Rescue and Relief situations. On one side of the table sat Izuku in the middle with Ochako and Ida beside him, on the other side was Mina in the middle with Asui Tsuyu and Jiro Kyoka. "You were a beast, Uzumaki-San." Jiro said as she ate her spicy miso ramen. Izuku chuckled at her statement and couldn't refute her statement but did add that Shoji and Haizono also were amazing, before realizing what he said and corrected himself saying everyone did their best. The table laughed at how he tried to correct himself and Ochako had to calm him down, Mina saying they understood what he meant and that they weren't offended.
"Oh Mina, About your question. I believe it is possible, I can help you during our free time if you want?" Mina's eyes widened with excitement and she accepted his offer to help, but everyone else got curious on what they were talking about. But before anyone could ask what they were talking about a loud alarm went off, causing Jiro to cover her ears with a slight grimace. Soon panic ensued as students started to rush out of the cafeteria, disorder and confusion on what was happening and what to do appeared on the students faces. Class One A was no different as they made their way out and were swept up into a crowd of panicking students. Izuku was able to grab Mina and Jiro and saw Ochako with Ida and Asui with Shoji, his eyes sweeping the crowd to find his classmates when he felt and heard a familiar cry from a few feet in front of him.
In the blink of an eye he grabbed Mina and Jiro while channelling chakra to both his feet and vanished as both girls appeared on Shoji's shoulders confused on how they got here. After securing them Izuku landed on the ceiling before he locked his eyes on who was about to get crushed by a large bull student, diving in as a green blur he got there just in time to scoop her up and jump back up. At the corner of his eyes he caught the sight of what had most likely caused the alarm to go off, for the two seconds he figured what caused the problem and a second later he already had a solution. Crunching his legs he channelled just a bit more chakra to his feet before kicking the air and shooting forward, using one arm to brace his body from impacting the archway and to keep his guest securely in his arm. "Everyone… LISTEN UP!"
His voice echoed and caused all the students to stop and look up at him, some wincing from his loud voice. "I know everyone is panicking from the Alarm but instead of crowding the hall and pushing others out of the way, calm down and move with a purpose! The alarm was triggered by the reporters somehow entering campus grounds!" At that, several people looked out the big window that overlooked the front to see several Pro hero sensei's hold back the reporters that crowded the entrance this morning. "Calmly make your way to your class and wait for further instructions!" Hopping down he gentle placed his invisible classmate on the ground and helped her out of the crowd that parted for them to walk. "Are you Okay, Hagakura-san?"
While he was unable to see her with his eyes he could still sense her presence and he could feel she was shaken up. "Y-yeah. I am now. Thank you." Izuku could hear her voice shake from knowing what could have happened and when he offered to hold on to her as he walked her back to class she gladly accepted the offer. Through the walk Izuku had started light conversation to get her mind off what had happened and to get to know his female invisible classmate better, which seemed to help as she let out soft chuckles and felt her start to calm down. They soon made it back to the classroom and saw that there were a few who had either gotten out at the front of the crowd or had eaten at another spot that wasn't crowded with students like the cafeteria. Walking her to her seat he checked one more time if she was fine and was met with a gentle resounding yes before he made his way to his own way.
Sitting down he closed his eyes and leaned back in his chair and started to think about what had just happened since it should have been practically impossible for anyone who isn't authorized to get through the U.A gate. Which meant either one of these reporters had a quirk that allowed them to get in or an outside factor let them in, but for what reason would anyone let in reporters when it did not affect anything? He also thought of the system having a small malfunction but the possibility of such a thing happening was a good zero point one percent chance. Izuku shook his head since there was nothing he could really do about it since this was a U.A staff problem, all he and the students could do was hope that this was something of a rare misstep in U.A security.
It didn't take long as the rest of Class One A entered and took their seats followed by their homeroom sensei entering and doing a quick count. "As some of you already know, the alarm was indeed triggered by reporters entering unauthorized but that does not mean classes are over. While somewhat shorter, classes will resume and continue as normal." Having said his piece, Aizawa stepped out and entered in their Math Pro Hero sensei. As the rest of the day had indeed resumed as normal like their sensei had said, the students were making their way back to the dorms, students from both Class One B and A mingling with each other. Izuku was talking to their multi-arm masked classmate Shoji Mezo when they heard a female voice call out to the greenette. "What's up, Hagakura-san?" He could feel she was anxious and the teen had to wonder if this was about earlier.
"Can I speak to you in private?" Shoji quickly excused himself leaving the two alone to talk, which made it easier since they were at the back of the group. "I want to thank you once again for saving me." Her face felt hot now that she was walking with him alone at the back, her eyes gazing over his muscular frame as his school uniform almost hugged his body. Izuku waved the thanks off, saying he was only able to notice because he had hated her cry out before pinpointing her in the crowded hall. That caught her attention now that she thought about it, how exactly had he been able to get to her since she could have sworn she was up ahead of most of their class. "How did you see me exactly, I'm sure you couldn't find me just by hearing me cry out." Uzumaki Izuku for all his strength realized his slip up, before coming to tell her a half truth. It pained him to know he had to lie about his powers but he knew that there were enemies out in the world and Kurama would probably beat the shit out of him if he did.
"It's part of my quirk. My ability allows me to feel other people's individual energy about their body, almost like an invisible outline to everyone but me." Hagakura's eyes widened and her mouth slightly agape knowing there was one person who could actually see her for the most part. "Not that I only memorised yours I have the whole class energy memorised along with several other close friends and family!" Izuku quickly rambled with a red face at how it sounded like he only had her energy memorized. The invisible girl could only laugh at his words and placed her hands up to wave off his concerns, knowing he would be able to tell what she was telling him. They were able to talk a bit more about school work before there was a voice up ahead who had called out to Izuku. She could tell her green haired classmate didn't want to be rude and leave so she told him that was all she needed to say and for him to go.
Watching as he jogged forward towards a large brown furry boy from Class One B, her heart skipped a beat at how he looked back and gave her a final smile before fully engaging in a new conversation. 'What is this?' She had never felt so flustered by a smile before, nor felt her face heat up at how he looked at her. It wasn't long before her eyes widened at the realization that she might be developing feelings for her handsome and strong classmate. 'Oh damn!'
Outside the school dorms laid a vast forest that accompanied the mountain the school was on, which made it perfect privacy for Izuku to train with Kurama. "Don't tense up!" The fox shouted to Izuku, sitting on a tree branch overlooking the boy's progress. 'He's still tensing up too much when he attacks, and it's gonna disrupt the flow of chakra if does it.' Izuku was strong and extremely smart but telling the boy to relax was something he wasn't quite good at. It's been sometime since their training trip and he had gotten all the forms and moves down and unlocked all his Tenketsu since then but he still struggled on staying flexible which is a key factor in this taijutsu style. "Let's take a ten minute break." Kurama shouted, hopping down from the tree and walking over to a sweating green haired boy. Maybe they needed a different approach the fox thought, it was how Naruto learned many of his techniques and jutsu. "The 'Gentle Fist' is almost like a blade, each strike being dangerous but also graceful. Get in the starting stance."
Izuku listened and took his stance, his legs shoulder length apart with a slight bend and his left arm forward matching his left forward leg while his right arm and to the back, with open palms facing forward. "Now I want you to close your eyes and imagine yourself as the wind. Wind does not force itself but acts gracefully before it strikes with a fury of a thousand tornadoes." Izuku took a deep breath as he relaxed in his stance for several minutes, feeling the cool evening breeze against his skin and the rustling of the leaves. Exhaling one last time, Izuku thrusted his right hand forward with his index and pointer finger extended, striking where he imagined a chest would be before doing the same thing with his left. "Two sticks!" Before doing the exact same thing and hitting where he imagined their trapezius (where the neck meets the shoulder) and their left kidney. "Four strikes!" Jabbing his fingers where he fingers striked through the opponents ribs, Izuku hit their lungs before sticking their sternum and clavicle. "Eight strikes!
Kurama watched proudly watching Izuku perform the taijutsu, while there were obvious flaws such as not putting in enough speed and putting in way too much power, he had finally gained progress. Watching as he was on the last consecutive strike, he saw Izuku was so wrapped up he wasn't paying attention to his surroundings. Eyes still closed he struck twice in the imaginary opponent's stomach before going for a strike in his right pectoral major before his foot caught on a tree root and he hit the ground. He could hear Kurama laugh before he jumped down and walked over to him, his nine tails swirling behind him. "Not bad for finally starting to understand it. Still needs lots of practice but we got plenty of time." Izuku smiled as he was a step closer after all these months to getting this taijutsu down. "Now let's practice on something new. It's pretty easy to understand and with your current chakra control, it shouldn't take you too long."
Having stopped in front of a tree, Kurama explained the process. "It's normally done by infusing your chakra into a weapon, this is also just as effective and is only limited to your control." He watched as the fox's paw glowed a deep golden colour before extending two inches forward and shaped into a blade. "The only hard part is controlling your chakra into forming what you want, but forming it into a blade is by far the easiest one to do." With a quick and relax swipe of his paw, the chakra blade cut through the tree like a hot knife through butter. "Just as sharp and effective as any chakra weapon." Izuku looked on with wide eyes before an exciting grin overwhelmed him, appearing in front of another tree and summoned enough chakra to appear on his hands. Taking deep breaths to relax and focus, he watched as his chakra extended three inches toward before his chakra straightened out clean. Swiping his own hand he watched in excitement as his chakra made blade cut straight through the tree cleanly before it fell.
"That's is fucken cool!" He said before feeling a tail smack the back of his head, hearing the fox tell him to watch his language. For the next two hours Naruto made clones and had them work on his chakra control while he worked on improving his ability on chakra made weapons, wondering what were the limits of the weapons he could make and how long they would last, the amount of damage they made depending on how much chakra he put in, so many theories he wanted to test out but had to eventually stop since his chakra was running low. Creating and using chakra made weapons took a lot of his Kage level chakra reserves.
Class One A sat in their seat anxiously as they waited for their homeroom teacher to finish his sentence, dreading if this could have them expelled or not. "To pick your class President and Vice-President!" He said before the class quickly shouted that they wanted to take up the role. Aizawa listened with annoyance but before he could flash his quirk to them down, Ida had stood up and quieted down the students and suggested an election to decide on position. Many questioned who they should pick since it's only been less than a week since class started and it wasn't enough time to get to really know all their classmates. "With what we as a class have witnessed from the start of the school, there have been many instances of students who would make excellent candidates, but as a class we should be able to see that there is one among us who has shown exemplifying characteristics of a true leader!"
The way Ida spoke with such conviction that he persuaded the others, adding that they should vote for other people and not themselves as it could lead to several recounts and problems. After ten minutes of everyone writing their vote and slipping it into a ballet box courtesy of their Yaoyorozu Momo, Ida had written their names down and tallied with every vote. It soon became clear as a majority of the class had voted for one surprised greenette boy and Yaoyorozu Momo. The two now stood at the front of their classroom where Izuku looked at the amount of people who voted for him one last time before addressing the class. "While I am very much surprised to see how many people had voted for me to become Class President, I will do my utmost best to exceed everyone's expectations." He gave the class a slight bow before he was met with several people clapping at his speech.
"What are you talking about Uzu-bro! The way you were able to take control of the panic crowd yesterday was so manly!" Several people pointed how he was not only extremely strong but also a great strategist from their first battle training, he also listened and helped them during Aizawa's hellish torture training. Izuku had no idea they were actually paying attention to that stuff because all that came naturally for him, being reminded how different this week had been compared to his other schools. With that finally settled classes started with Midnight-Sensei entering to begin her lesson on Modern Hero Art History. As classes started as normal, a small fox sat outside a large metal door. He could hear several sounds of shouting and machinery just beyond it, along with the human he had been looking for. 'Well, ain't this a surprise…'
That is the final chapter for Izuku's Shinobi Life for 2023 and I hope everyone is excited for the new chapters to come in 2024! I want to thank everyone who has favorited, liked and commented on this and all my other fanfictions and stayed with me through the many years since I started my enjoyable journey here. I will soon have a steady writing schedule where I'm hoping to post every one chapter for each of my stories, along with bringing in new projects here on the Fanfiction app, Youtube, and maybe Spotify once I acquire a few more pieces of equipment and read some guidelines and terms so my videos aren't taken down.
But back to this! We just witnessed some hardcore physical education with Aizawa-sensei on how training one's body is just as important as their quirks, which I took from personal experience and added a bit more to be dramatic. This will be a build up for when I do my USJ chapters which will appear very soon. I want to give the class a bit more time together so I can show the students of Class A and B that there is more than what they see on tv.
We also see Izuku finally making Progress on the Gentle Fist: Eight Trigrams Sixteen Palms and he starts to form chakra weapons, which he will also use by infusing his chakra into weapons, but I wanted something new and interesting with it. It will be limited but strong overall.
I was supposed to post this Christmas Day but some things happened and I forgot all about this, sorry… but I do hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and are excited for the new year. I wanted this out before the new year but better now then never and at the start of the year!
Next time of Izuku's Shinobi Life: Class B gets their own lesson both practical and inside the classroom, and the inner thoughts of some of them too!
