Shido checked the time on his clock, it read 6:30 in the morning.
Thanks to yesterday's assault involving Kurumi, it was another day of getting up early again.
Shido had to keep his guard up and learn more about this Nightmare spirit.
He'd been tasked by Kotori to analyze Kurumi's behavior and her interactions with him at school.
As he crept the bedroom's hallway, his feet made the floorboards creak.
That— immediately gave away his position...
Kotori stood behind him, sucking a lollipop in her mouth.
"Oh you're up big bro, were you grabbing a drink?"
Shido nodded back. "Yeah I was, I figured that now I'm up I'll probably stay up for school." "What about you, do you need any more beauty sleep?"
Kotori pouted. "Beauty sleep, of course not." "I have to be just as intentive as you are, we're making contact with Kurumi today."
Kurumi, Shido thought of her for a moment.
Her pitch black hair was the first image that came into his mind, cascading down her back.
And at the brief moment a look into her second eye was shown to him— An amber eye, ticking like a pendulum clock.
His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of Kotori's concerned voice. "Shido?" He turned towards her with a comforting smile, he felt bad for worrying her.
"Oh sorry, I'm all right sis."
When the two arrived at the lounge room, Shido switched the TV on.
The first channel that appeared was the local news.
"Want the same for breakfast, Kotori?"
As he passed the remote over, she nodded placing her lollipop stick aside. "Definitely."
While Shido fried some eggs, a knock sounded at his door. Kotori answered it to discover Tohka, dressed in her school uniform.
"Good morning, you two!"
The others both waved back smiling.
Kotori spoke first. "Happy to see Shido again?"
Tohka walked in, to sit on their couch afterwards.
"Of course he's been on my mind lately, I've also been wanting to go on one of those date thingies again."
This morning ahead— was certainly going to be eventful.
