Chapter 17
Izuku could barely contain his excitment. Today is finally the day of the sports festival.
After two weeks of hard training between him, Shinsou and Aile. The two are finally here for the day of truth.
On the first week, the two megamans decided to spare with each other. Shinsou used his megaman model P form and Izuku decided to train his newest form, the model HX.
Thanks to him having the biometals for longer than Shinsou, he ended up winning almost all of their spars since the purple haired teen couldn't hold the megamerge for too long.
But with each fight, Shinsou managed to hold the megamerge a little longer. That, and Izuku inexperience with the Model HX ended up making him lose a few fights to Shinsou, although Izuku almost won some of those.
And something interesting that they found out when training Shinsou quirk was that the biometals could snap Izuku out of the brainwashing, something that Shinsou found a little unfair should they end up fighting on the festival, but he didn't plan on giving up should they end up fighting.
The first week of training was their spars with each other, it was a good training for Shinsou since he got to adapt his body a little for the megamerge and got some fighting experience with their spars. But in the end, he couldn't use model P help in the festival.
The second week was focused on training both of them separately. Izuku trained and studied what he could do on his HX form, which made him learn a few interesting things of that form.
The first thing was that he didn't have a buster like the ZX form nor any type of cannon like the X form, only the two blades, meaning that this is also a close combat form like Z.
But, unlike the other forms, the HX had some things unique for it. When megamerged, Izuku could use the dash ability in the air, both to go foward, or to go higher than normal, not to mention that he can hover in the air, although it was a bit hard to use it at the beginning, he can somewhat control it now.
Izuku is sure that, with more training, he can fly with this form, although it would require more time and energy if he wants to test that theory, but he is sure that it is possible.
Izuku also discovered that he can use both wind and lightnings attack and he also found something called enemy analisis. The former allows Izuku to create electric balls, it is very powerful and dangerous even in safe mode, but it takes some energy from Izuku.
He can also create tornados, this surprised the grenette since he never expected something like that, and they are powerful enough that allowed him to destroy some buildings on the mock city when he tried to use it without the safe mode. But, just like the electric ball, it takes some energy from Izuku when using it, in fact, it seems to take more energy than the electric ball.
The enemy analisis is something that Izuku found really interesting and useful. When he first fought Shinsou, one of his eyes showed him a scan of Shinsou body, both in his megamerge form and normal form depending if Shinsou was transformed or not.
When it showed his body, both in model P and normal form, the part around his throat was red, as if saying that his quirk was localizated there, and when Shinsou used his quirk, the red area got a bit more bright. Izuku believes that this shows the body of a person, and the red area is probably where the quirk is localizated, and when it starts to glow then it means that said person is either ready to or using their quirk, it's very useful when fighting an enemy with no visible quirk.
Izuku sighs as he remember that the only thing he needs to test is the O.I.S, but Aile strictly forbid him from using it even in training, since the consequences are too great for him right now. He can only wonder what the differences are when in the Overdrive mode.
"Guys ! Get ready, the festival is about to start !" Iida shout snapped Izuku out of his thoughts, he was about to start moving when he heard Todoroki voice.
"Shield." The blond girl looks at the white and red haired teen with a confused expression.
"Technically speaking, i believe that i am stronger than you. And even if you got noticed by All Might, i want you to know that i'm going to beat you." That caught everyone by surprise, Kirishima gets up and approaches the two.
"Hey, there is no need to fight, we are all friends here." He puts a hand on Todoroki shoulder but the ice-fire user shrugs off his hand.
"We are not here to make friends." Todoroki says coldly, but before he could leave, Melissa spoke "Perhaps you are right, Todoroki."
The teen turns around and meets Melissa determined gaze "Even then, you shouldn't forget about everyone else, we will use everything we have, if you don't do the same then you will regret it." Todoroki scowls at the meaning behind her words and leaves while clenching his left arm, not forgetting about his teacher words.
"Do you know why i called you here Todoroki ?" Todoroki shakes his head, a bit confused at why his teacher wants to talk.
"I will make it short, in your student file it says that your quirk is Half cold half hot, right ?" Todoroki nods.
"I didn't called you out on the quirk test because i believed that you may have some trauma with your left side, but i'm here to say that i won't allow you to keep going only using your ice." Todoroki widen his eyes a little, but then narrows it at Aizawa.
"You can speak with Hound Dog about it, he may help you with the reason behind of you not using your fire, but if you don't start using it before the end of this year, then i will expel you." Todoroki grits his teeth in anger, he won't use his power, not now nor ever.
"That's all for now, you can leave." Todoroki nods and leaves the room with a scowl. His hand clenching his left side, this cursed power that belongs to his pathetic excuse of a father.
Todorki refuses to use the power that caused so much pain for him, so much pain to his mother and siblins, even if it will make him get out of UA.
Izuku frowns at Todoroki, he also caught the meaning behind Melissa words and wonders why he never used his fire. The ZX choosen one is sure that is related to the scar on his face.
Izuku vows to himself, even if he loses this festival he will make sure that Todoroki will use all of his quirk, even if he has to destroy his whole body with O.I.S.
"(As much as i find it admirable that you want to help your classmate, i would like that this doesn't happen.)" Izuku chuckles a little at Model H words, seems like the biometals are more likely to talk when Aile isn't here.
A hand on his shoulder makes him snap out of his thought "Izuchan, we need to get moving." Izuku realizes that everyone started to move, he nods to Melissa and follows his classmates.
"(Good luck Shinsou, but don't expect me to hold back against you.)"
"AND LADIES AND GENTLEMANS, HERE COMES THE COURSE THAT FOUGHT AGAINST THE VILLAINS AT THE USJ, THE CLASS 1-A !" Izuku couldn't help but feel nervous at how many people are here.
"So many, i don't think the sport festival of the first years had this much people around." Melissa says while looking around the audience.
"Perhaps it was because the USJ incident, many people wants to see the potential of the class that was attacked by villains." Tokoyami says, but even he is surprised by how many people are here.
Up on the audience, Inko cheers as her son appears alongside with his class, and right on her side is Aile. The cyber elf decided to not be with Izuku this time and if weren't for Nezu giving them tickets for the festival, she would be at home with Inko.
"Hey Inko, didn't thought you would be here !" The two looks at the source of voice, which came from behind of them.
Inko widen her eyes "Mitsuki ! Masaru ! How are you doing ?" Mitsuki smirks while Masaru gives her a smile.
"As good as we can with... everything that happened." Mitsuki frowns before shaking her head, no use on being sad when this is supposed to be a happy day.
"Rooting for little Izuku ?" Inko nods. Mitsuki was about to say something before she noticed the somewhat transparent teen watching them talk, making the blonde a bit curious about who she is.
Caughting her friend gaze, Inko almost forgot that they never met "Oh, i forgot to introduce you two. Aile, this is Bakugou Mitsuki and Bakugou Masaru, they are Katsuki parents. Mitsuki, Masaru, this is Aile, my... errr" Inko stutters a little, not knowing how to introduce Aile.
Seeing the older Midoriya stutter, the cyber elf smirks "A pleasure miss Bakugou, i'm Midoriya Aile, Inko adopted daughter." Both Bakugos and Midoriya widen their eyes at Aile words. The former because she never heard of something like that from their friend and the latter because she didn't expected that, and their reaction makes the former megaman laugh.
"INKO, WHAT THE HELL !" Mitsuki screams just as Present Mic starts to annouce the next class.
"AND NOW WE HAVE THE CLASS 1-B, DON'T THINK ON UNDERESTIMATING THEM JUST BECAUSE THEIR SISTER CLASS FOUGHT VILLAINS, THESES GUYS HAVE A LOT OF POTENTIAL TO SHOW !" On cue, their sister class appears, Izuku recognized Tetsutetsu and Itsuka, there is also the blond teen from before but aside from them, he doesn't know anyone there.
"NEXT WE ALSO HAVE THE GENERAL COURSE, CLASS C, D AND E." Izuku looks around as the general course starts to leave, when he saw Shinsou they ended up locking eyes. They nod as each other, silently wishing good luck.
After the rest of the suppport and business class enters, Midnight appears and that made not only Izuku blush, but everyone else, be it student or hero.
"And now the student that will give us a speech, Midoriya Izuku !" Said boy widen his eyes in surprise, no one told him anything about that !
"W-why me ?!" Izuku shouts while looking around, surely there should be someone better... right ?
"Well, you did got the first place in the exams, maybe it is because of that ?" Yaoyorozu says and Izuku groans. Although he did get better with his self-confidence issues, he still isn't on a level that makes him immune to situations like that !
"Good luck Izuchan, and remember to speak it from your heart." Izuku sends a small smile to Melissa, although it may have been a grimace.
"Hey, if it helps, try to imagine everyone with their underwears, they say that it works !" Izuku chuckles a little at Mina before making his way to the stage, but not without overhearing some of the general course students whispers, which makes the megaman ZX frown.
When he reaches the mic, Izuku starts to panic at the thought of speaking to everyone here, what if he screws up and only make everything worse, but looking around he caught Aile gaze, the former megaman gives her sucessor a nod and a smile.
'You can do it Izuku.'
Izuku then takes a deep breath, here goes nothing "I want to ask something, what makes a hero ?" That statement brought confusion to everyone present. Seeing that, Izuku continues "Is it their quirk ? Their actions ? Because sometimes, i hear or see someone say that someone with a 'weak quirk' can't be a hero or someone with a 'villain quirk' are destined to become villains." Shinsou flinches at that last part, but everyone was paying attention to Izuku speech to notice.
"And that makes me wonder what really matters on a hero. Their quirk or their actions ? Firefighters, police, medics, many others jobs also help people, isn't that the true meaning of a hero ? To protect and save people ? Then doesn't that make them heroes as well ? A quirk is only a tool, it can be used for both good and evil, that depends only of the onwer actions, and i want to ask everyone that is listening to this speech, calling someone a villain because of their quirk, saying that their quirk are 'weak', even bullying someone without any reason, is this the way a hero should act ?" Everyone that listened to that speech thinks about those words, some starts to feel guilty about their actions towards a classmate, others start to smile at those words.
Then, someone start to clap, and much to their surprise it isn't someone in the audience, but a general course student.
Shinso claps to Izuku, his words are everything that he ever wanted to hear. For him, Izuku is one of a few that should truly be called hero, perhaps these words will inspire those that are the same as him.
'Midoriya, i'm glad that i can call you a friend.'
Soon, everyone starts to clap at him. When he looks at Aile she had a grin on her face and gave him a thumbs up, which made the grenette beam at her.
When he goes back to his class, Kirishima and Tetsutesu spoke at the same time "That was so mainly dude !" Then they glare at each other while Izuku chuckles at them.
"See, your speech was awesome !" Melissa says and Uraraka nods.
"Those words made me reflect on the hero job itself and how many people suffer at their school, seems like you are once again ahead of me Midoriya." Iida says, but before Izuku could speak, Shinso arrived.
"That was a good speech Midoriya, didn't thought you were so wise." Shinso says, but Izuku can see that his words really got him.
"WHAT AN AWESOME SPEECH TO START THE FESTIVAL, DON'T YOU THINK GUYS ?!" Present Mic says as the crowd cheers at him.
Midnight then cracks her whip "All right then, after this speech i believe that we should start the festival once for all, and the first event is...!" The students focus on the screen as it decides what will be their first challenge.
The screen stops at obstacule race, seems like it will be the same as the past festivals. Only the first 42 students will go to the next stage and as long as the students are in the race area, then they can do anything.
"All right then, everyone get ready for the race !"
Izuku watches as the first light goes off and tenses in preparation, he needs to remember that anything is alright as long as they are in the area, meaning that they can use their quirk at each other.
When the second light goes off, Melissa channels the One for All at five percent and prepares for the race to start.
Shinso also gets ready. Megamerge is a no go, he needs to use his training and be smarter than them.
When the third light goes off and the doors open. No one waste time and starts to run, but since the space is too small and there is a lot of students, it ended up getting hard to walk.
Although, one green haired student couldn't help but smirk a little. If he can't use the normal way then he only needs to improvise.
Izuku megamerges into the X form and jumps on the walls to make his way out of the tunnel, thankfully the walls aren't really far from each other. Just when he got outside, he felt the temperature behind him go down. Izuku doesn't need to look behind to know that Todoroki froze the tunnel. Instead, Izuku start dashing to try and create distance from him.
"LOOK AT THAT FOLKS, SEEMS LIKE MIDORIYA IZUKU FROM CLASS 1-A IS THE FIRST TO GET OUT OF THE TUNNEL AND GRAB THE FIRST PLACE, BUT TODOROKI SHOUTO DOESN'T SEEMS TO BE FAR BEHIND !"
"To explain how he was the first to get out, his armor allows him to grab and climb walls with ease despite a normal person having no ways to climb it." Aizawa explains after Present Mic comment.
"Hey Deku ! Don't think that you will stay on the first place for too long !" Bakugou shouts as he uses his explosions to boost himself foward.
And he isn't the only one, Melissa uses her quirk to jump and avoid the ground as much as she can. Mina is using her acid to skate through the ice and Shinsou jumped on another student head to avoid being trapped in the ice and is doing his best to run on the frozen ground.
Izuku doesn't have time to look at them since he arrived in front of a familiar sight of the entrace exam.
"ALL RIGHT, SEEMS LIKE MIDORIYA IZUKU FINALLY REACHED THE FIRST OBSTACULE, THE ROBO INFERNO !"
Izuku quickly changes to Model Z and draws the Z saber and dodges the zero pointer before dashing through it with his Z saber cutting through.
'Unlike the exam, this is just to hold us back, there is no advantage to destroy them this time !'
"WOAH, MIDORIYA CHANGED HIS COLORS AND CUT THROUGH THE ROBOT, HE MANAGED TO BE THE FIRST TO PASS THE OBSTACULE !"
"The form he used against them is his Red Slasher. Midoriya quirk allows him to change his armors and each one of them has different skills. This one gives him a sword that allowed him to make his way through the robot."
Soon, Todoroki arrived the robo inferno. Seeing Izuku ahead makes the half cold teen scowl before he freezes the zero pointer in front of him and quickly runs towards Izuku.
As the megaman and half cold and half hot teen are fighting for the first place, the rest of the students tries to get past the robots.
Kirishima gets up from the robot that had fallen on him "Damn, that could have hurt someone badly, it was a good thing that i was here !"
Tetsutestu also gets up from the robot that had fallen on him "Damn, that could have hurt someone badly, it was a good thing that i was here !"
The two students looks at each other and sees how their quirk are similar "Ah man, someone with the same quirk as me !?" They said at the same time.
While Kirishima and Tetsutetsu are getting out of the robot, Melissa dodges the punch of the zero pointer and climbs it, and she isn't the only who got that idea, Sero uses his tapes to climb up the robot and Tokoyami uses Dark Shadow to follow him.
Bakugou also uses his explosions and get past the robot, only focusing on getting to the first place.
Shinsou was lucky, he managed to run away from the zero pointers and was making his way to the second part, but a two pointer blocked his way and the megaman P curses.
He looks behind him and sees Mineta using the balls on his head to jump and gain speed, Shinsou remembers that his quirk uses the balls on his head and it can trap anything that touches it aside from Mineta himself.
Shinsou knows what he has to do if he wants to destroy this robot "Hey Mineta, you idiot !"
That got the reaction that Shinso needed "Who did-" Mineta eyes becomes blank and Shinsou smirks.
"Use your quirk to destroy this robot !" Mineta nods and quickly throws the balls on the two pointer, trapping him and allowing Shinso to get past of it without any worry.
"WOAH, MANY STUDENTS MANAGED TO PASS THE FIRST OBSTACULE, AND MANY OF THOSE IN THE LEAD ARE FROM THE CLASS 1-A, WHAT ARE YOU TEACHING FOR THIS CLASS ERASERHEAD !?"
"I didn't taught them anything, all of this are the product of their experience at the USJ. thanks to that, they doesn't hesitate against this, because they had a taste of what a real villain is, the USJ incident only made them stronger."
"YOU HEARD THAT FOLKS ? ERASERHEAD IS A BAD TEACHER !" That comment made Aizawa gain a tick mark and give Present Mic a glare that promised pain and suffering for the blond hero.
Izuku keeps dashing through the race without looking back. Thanks to Present Mic comment he knows that the others already got through the robo inferno.
Izuku stops as he look at what could be the second obstacule. Izuku presumes that if they fall on that deep hole they are out.
"LOOK AT THAT, MIDORIYA ALREADY ARRIVED ON THE SECOND OBSTACULE, THE FALL ! AND A LITTLE WARNING, IF YOU FALL ON THE HOLE THEN YOU ARE OUT !
Izuku looks at the platforms tied to the ropes and smirks a little, HX form is perfect for this one.
Aile watches as Izuku transforms on HX and nods.
'Even if you can hold HX for longer than ZX, it still takes more from you than either X or Z separately. But if you don't use it now, then the others may catch up with you, although you still would be able to win the race as one of the 42 students... but you want to be the best, don't you Izuku ?' Aile giggles a little, that's a good thing for him. There a difference for those that aim for the best and those that don't, good thing that her sucessor is on the former category.
Izuku jumps towards one of the pilars and uses the HX air dash. Although it wasn't enough to reach it, he uses HX ability to hover and thankfully it did the job. Izuku keep repeating the process until he reached the end. After he landed, he quickly changed to X form and starts to dash again.
Todoroki reached the second obstacule and saw that Izuku already cleaned it and curses before using his ice to skate through the rope while using it to not fall from it.
Bakugou growls as he sees Todoroki and Izuku running away and uses his explosion to close the gap between them.
"ALL RIGHT ! SEEMS LIKE MIDORIYA IZUKU CHANGED HIS COLORS AGAIN AND CLEANED THE SECOND OBSTACULE, ANY COMMENT FOR THAT ERASERHEAD ?! Aizawa sighs at the loud blonde, can't this day go any faster ?
That armor he used is called Air Slasher. It allows him to use the dash ability that the others armors have, but in the air. And as you saw, he can hover with it too.
"(...I still believe we should have thought on a better name.)" Izuku sheepishly smiles at the green biometal words.
As Todoroki and Bakugou chases Izuku, the rest of the students tries to think on ways to pass through The Fall.
Hatsumi Mei, a student from support course grins "All right ! Time to show off my babies !" The rest of the students watch dumbfolded as the pink haired student uses her gadges to get through the obstacule.
Tsuyu jumps at one rope and crawls through it "It's perfect for someone like me *ribbit*"
Iida uses his engines to pass through the ropes as quickly and safe as possible while Uraraka decides to play safe and crawl through the rope, she thought on using her quirk on herself but it would be too much risky.
Melissa isn't sure if she is able to jump to another platform by using One for All at her max safety limit. She decides to follow Uraraka method and crawls through it.
But mostly surprising was Shinsou. He is running on the ropes without any efford to keep his balance, which surprised everyone that knew the boy.
'Seems like some characteristics of my megamerge are transfered to my base form... not that i'm complaining.' He didn't thought it was possible at first, but after testing it on the training, it was something he gladly accepted. Not to mention that his aim with shurikens and kunais are far better than before even when not megamerged.
"LOOK AT THAT, MANY STUDENTS ARE ALREADY OUT BY FALLING ON THE HOLE, BUT MANY FROM THE HERO COURSE ARE USING CREATIVE WAYS TO PASS THROUGH IT, BUT WHAT WILL THEY DO AGAINST THE THIRD OBSTACULE." Izuku pauses and look around, if he were to guess, this is the third and probably the last obstacule.
"THE THIRD OBSTACULE WILL SURELY MAKE YOU KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD. UNDER THE GROUND THERE ARE MINES, YOU CAN SEE THEM WITHOUT DIFFICULT, BUT ONE MISTAKE AND YOU WILL BE IN TROUBLE, DON'T WORRY ABOUT GETTING HURT, THOSE MINES WILL ONLY DIFFICULT YOUR PATH !"
'This isn't good at all, if i rush towards the end then i may end up stepping on one mine, but if i go with caution then the others will catch up.' Thinking fast, Izuku decides to procced carefully. He could use HX to air dash and float over the mines, but if he lands on a area with no place to step in, then he is doomed.
Todoroki also arrives at the third obstacule and narrow his eyes at Midoriya.
Focusing on his right side, he freezes the mines in his way and rushes past Midoriya, who didn't expected the half cold teen to already be here.
'It will give a path for those that are behind me, but until there i will already have won !'
Izuku curses 'Damn, if i play safe now then Todoroki will reach first, i need the model HX !'
But before changing to the HX form, Izuku shoots a fully charged shoot towards the red-white haired teen before double megamerging and using his Air Dash to fly towards Todoroki.
The half hot half cold user looks behind and sees a large blue shoot coming towards him, he quickly sidesteps and freezes the mines before they could detonate, but that allowed Izuku to bypass him and retake the lead.
"WOAH, LOOKS LIKE MIDORIYA AND TODOROKI ARE FIGHTING OVER THE LEAD, AND IT SEEMS THAT THEY MAY HAVE COMPANY SINCE MORE AND MORE STUDENTS ARE ARRIVING THE LAST OBSTACULE !"
Todoroki scowls, he can't allow this chance to escape.
'This is gonna take some energy from me, but at least he won't be moving anytime soon !' Todoroki takes a deep breath and creates a large glacier towards Izuku, the megaman widen his eyes before the ice consumes him and blocks a good part of the field.
"WHAT AN POWERFUL MOVE, AND IT SEEMS THAT TODOROKI REGAINED THE LEAD ONCE AGAIN. WILL MIDORIYA MANAGED TO REGAIN THE LEAD OR IT'S OVER FOR HIM ?!" Present Mic says as Aizawa narrow his eyes at Todoroki. Even he can see that this attack took some toll on the teen if the ice covering some of his body are something.
"Don't think that it's over yet just because you defeated Deku, you half and half bastard !" Bakugou shouts as he finally reaches Todoroki and throws an explosion at the teen, but Todoroki dodges and grabs the arm that Bakugou used and encases it on ice, but that didn't stop the explosion user.
Melissa and Uraraka widen their eyes at the glacier that Todoroki created, just how powerful is he ?
Melissa shakes her head and uses the ice that Todoroki created to pass, taking care to not slip on it and accidently stepping on a mine while Uraraka does the same, although Melissa is faster than her thanks to One for All.
Iida tries to take his chance and use his speed to get past the explosions, but unfortunaly he wasn't fast enough.
Shinsou thought on using the ice that was on the field, but many students are using the ice and it would be too easy to slip up, he decided to run and watch his step, luckily he is one of the few that are ahead.
While the students make their way through the field, Bakugou and Todoroki are still fighting for the lead. Each explosion is missed and every attempt to try and touch Bakugou with his ice are blocked by explosions, and Todoroki isn't sure if he can handle another one of those glaciers.
"AND THE FIGHT FOR THE LEAD GOES ON, WHO WILL BE THE FIRST ONE TO FINISH THE RACE, WAIT A MINUTE... IT SEEMS LIKE MIDORIYA IS GOING TO TAKE BACK THE LEAD ! The two teens head snaps up and widen their eyes, Midoriya is flying above them and quickly creating a distance between them.
'Damn, i didn't expected that Todoroki would do something like that !' The megaman choosen one thinks as he tries to get out of the ice. Although he can move his arms, the space is too small to move.
Izuku changes to Model Z and deactivates the safe mode as he cut through the ice and make his way to the top. Even though it may slow him down, he got a plan to use this ice in his favor, although it is a bit risky.
Izuku keeps cutting and climbing the ice glacier. After a few seconds, he finally arrives at the top and analises the situation.
"(Bakugou seems to have catch up with Todoroki, and everyone else is starting to arrive the mines, what do you think guys ?)" Izuku asks the biometals their thoughts about the plan.
X was the first to answer "(It is a gamble, should it work then you will have a better chance to win, but if it doesn't then the worst case scenario is you going back to the start of the minefield.)"
"(The question is, how sure you are that it will work Izuku ? You trained with model HX for a week, do you think it will be enough ?)" Izuku frowns at Z words. As X said, the worst case scenario is him going back to the start.
"(Although, if you want to be the first then it's your only chance. The question is, do you want to win in first place or only win ?)" Model H question made Izuku pause, it is true that this plan would put him on first place, but he could also play safe and forget the first place, if he is one of the 42 to pass then it's a victory.
But... this is his chance to show the world that he is here. To show their abilities at their fullest, he aims to be the number one, right ?
Izuku could feel as if Model H nodded to his thought "(If that's what you think, then you already know what to do.)" Izuku nods and swaps back to HX and prepares to jump.
Izuku still can't fly with this form yet and without the O.I.S he can only use the air dash one single time without needing to step on the ground. But the booster on his wings that allows him to use the air dash can last longer if he wants to. It won't allow him to fly, and it won't allow him to stay in the air for much time like using the hover. But in exchange, it will give him more speed and surely will allow him to grab the first place once again.
But Izuku doesn't have too much practice with it. His knowledge on how to use the air dash and hover are results of the "battle instict", since Aile also knew how to do it when she first used the HX form, and she didn't have enough time to learn this either.
'Here goes nothing.' Izuku uses the air dash and grits his teeth in concentration as he pass through the minefield, he doesn't need to look down to see if he had passed Torodoki or not since Present Mic commentary already did the job.
"Deku ! Come back here you damn nerd !" Bakugou uses his explosions and boost himself fowards, he won't lose to Deku of all people.
Todoroki also decided to stop fighting with Bakugou and started to go fowards to not fall behind Izuku.
Aile narrow her eyes at Izuku situation. This isn't something that he instinctively knows how to do like hover and air dash. And although he did pass Torodoki and Bakugou, he is starting to approach the ground since he can't use the hover at the same time, and he will need to stop using the air dash to land safely, but it will make him lose his speed and may allow Bakugou and Todoroki to pass him and get the first place.
'But..' Aile looks at the mines on the ground, if he manages to detonate those and manage to not get himself stunned then it would give him more chance to win.
Izuku can see the ground coming closer and curses, he won't reach the end of the race before landing.
'I won't miss this chance, not when i'm so close !' Before he touched the ground, Izuku quickly changed to model X and charged both if his cannons and aimed them at the ground in front of Todoroki and Bakugou.
He fires the two fully charged shoots at the ground and hits a few mines, both Bakugou and Todoroki widen their eyes as the mines detonate due to the impact of the shoots.
Izuku doesn't even look back to see if it worked, he just rolls back and starts running again towards the end. When he sees that there is no mines around, he starts dashing once again.
"WHAT AN AWESOME TWIST, MIDORIYA CHANGED HIS COLORS IN MID AIR AND DETONATED THE MINES TO STUN TODOROKI AND BAKUGOU, THIS RACE IS GETTING MORE AND MORE INTENSE, WHO IS GOING TO GET THE FIRST PLACE ?!
Bakugou growls and starts to boost himself again after recovering and Todoroki slides on his ice to try and catch up with Izuku.
Izuku keeps dashing as fast as he can, he can feel that the end is near and the holder of three biometals is sure that Bakugou and Todoroki are behind him.
"AND NOW, AFTER THIS INTENSE FIGHT FOR THE LEAD AT THE THIRD OBSTACULE, THE ONE WHO MANAGED TO GET THE FIRST PLACE IS...!
Izuku leaves the tunnel and looks around as the audience cheers, did he...?
"MIDORIYA IZUKU !"
"MY BABY WON ! HE DID IT !" Inko shouts as she cries tears of joy while she trapped Aile in a bone crushing hug, the former megaman is sure that she heard something crack and that really worries her.
Mitsuki smirks "Seems like little Izuku really came far from the little boy that i last saw." Masaru nods at his wife as he and Mitsuki chuckles at Inko crushing her daughter bones.
"I never expected that Inko would adopt this girl." Mitsuki mutters. From what Aile told them, she was the daughter of a distant cousing of Inko. When her mom died, Inko took her to their house. After a while, Aile start to see Inko as a mother figure and Izuku as her little brother. Seeing that, the older Midoriya decided to make it official.
But the truth is that, on those weeks before the festival, Nezu surprised them by creating documments that made their story of Aile being Inko daughter official... Aile didn't even question how the rat did that nor she ever will.
And she shivers at how Inko almost flooded the apartment from how much she cried when she realized that Aile is now her daughter. And Aile didn't admit, but she was really happy that she is officialy a Midoriya now.
"Congratulations, Izuku."
And, on a familiar consultory, a long blue haired woman smiled when she looks at the TV that was showing the sport festival.
"Congratulations, Izuku."

About that stunt Izuku pulled on the minefield, it's basically using the air dash booster indefinitely, but it doesn't allow him to fly, it only exchanges his time on the air for speed, and if he deactivates that booster then he needs to touch the ground again just like the air dash.
Also, i decided to basically transfer some of the abilities from the megamerged form to their base form. They aren't able to use their megamerged weapons or dash or anything like that, but Izuku skill with his Z/ZX-saber and his aim with ZX-buster are transfered to his base form. Same with Shinsou, his aim and skill with Shurikens from his megamerge with model P and others thing that aren't exclusive to the megamerge are transfered to his base form.

Zonzus: I... can't really say anything about what i plan to do with Grey or who will get Model A, because not even i am sure yet if i'm going to do what i'm planning, but about Model W... well... can't really say anything about him yet.
Megaman zero and ciel: As i said, i do have an idea for who will get model L and F (Although i'm considering to change Model L chosen one), but for your question a about Model O... maybe ? Let's see what the future will do to this story.

THE-twilight-BlazeKnight: Thanks buddy, truth to be told i was wondering what to do about the whole war declaration since i made Shinsou become a member of the Dekusquad, but i'm glad that the way i did seemed good... Monoma and Kendou wasn't exactly planned at first though. And one of the reasons why i did make Nezu be in the biometal secret was for Shinsou have a way to train Model P and to train for the sport festival to have a better chance... and let's be honest, that rat is the smartest being on bnha world, surely he would find out sooner or later. And for the biometal split, i can't express how i regret not remembering it on the beginning, my mind is on overdrive at many differents ideas for that, thanks for reminding me about the split because i honestly forgot about it, i will try to save that idea, but i can't promise anything.
