Mikey may be the only turtle, but they're all main characters and will have moments to shine. Karai goes by Miwa, since she was never taken by Shredder. This story follows the TMNT plot line with differences, of course, plus added stuff. Raph and Miwa may have vulgar language. Leo, Raph, Miwa and Donnie are full blood siblings. Also, I know technically Miwa/Karai is the oldest of them, but I made her the middle child. There will be no Leo X Miwa/Karai, obviously.

Ages: Leo (17), Raph (16), Miwa (15), Donnie (14), Mikey (13)

There will be harsh topics as we go along and I will give warnings as we come to those.

Mikey hated nothing more than school.

Not that he had school, of course. But his older siblings - Leo, Raph, Miwa and Donnie do, and that was enough a reason for Mikey to hate school (and not because they complain about how awful that place is).

Not including the summer, Mikey's brothers and sister attend school five days a week, for most of the day and then come home only to do more work — Mikey believes that it is called homework. Mikey didn't see the point in doing work at home.

You may be wondering why Mikey hates a place he's never been. And shouldn't he love something that his siblings hate, because a sibling's misery is always amusing? Normally, that would be the case. But not for this vile school.

While his siblings are on the surface learning new things, Mikey remains in the sewers, bored out of his mind with no one to annoy or tease. And his older siblings being up there together, making friends and not being lonely is just rubbing salt on the wound.

How could it be that Leo, Raph, Miwa and Donnie gets to go to school, but Mikey on the other hand remains in their home — the sewers? Well, I'll answer that. But in order to do so, a description is in order, isn't it?

The oldest of Mikey's brothers is named Leonardo, but he goes by Leo to everyone. He's seventeen and a senior. His signature color is blue (You, dear readers, find out what that means shortly). Mikey is able to get away with more involving Leo, especially when he gives him the puppy eyes. But even Leo is immune to Mikey's adorable eyes at times.

The second oldest is Raph, which is short for Raphael. He's sixteen and a junior. His signature color is red (it matches his hot temper, in Mikey's opinion). It's the most fun to annoy Raph, and in turn, he's always hitting and teasing Mikey, and acting like the typical mean brother.

The middle sibling and the only girl also happens to be the only one not named after an artist from the renaissance era. Her name is Miwa. She's fifteen and a sophomore. Her signature color is black (well, every time they call black a color, Donnie likes to remind them that it's actually the absence of color, but whatever). Miwa... is complicated, as Mikey believes all girls to be. Some times, she's teasing him, other times she's ignoring him in the typical older sister fashion, and other times she acts like Mikey is the cutest on the planet. He doesn't think he'll ever understand any female's mentality, even if he knew more than one, that is.

Donnatello, also known as Donnie, is Mikey's intimate brother, only being a year older. He's fourteen and a freshman, though he could probably skip a few grades if he so truly desired (He very much doesn't for reasons unknown to his father, brothers and sister, but he takes advanced classes). His signature color is purple. Mikey and Donnie, even though he finds his little brother annoying, have bonded over both of them being underestimated by their older siblings — which probably made sense, but that doesn't mean either of them has to like it.

Finally, Mikey himself. His full name is Michelangelo. He's thirteen and not in any grade at all. His signature color is orange, but as if that matters more than the reason why he's not in a grade or school at all. Mikey's siblings may be human... but Mikey is a mutant turtle. He's bigger and faster than the average turtle and can talk, too. As you can probably guess, it's best if he stays in the sewers for the time being.

As for them having signature colors, well, they're ninjas. If you thoughts things are already weird, and now I had to bring up ninjas? And even weirder, a turtle ninja? Who would've thought?

But anyway, their signature colors are the same color of their masks. Mikey always wore his. His siblings, only at night time during patrol. Mikey couldn't help but feel jealous — he's not allowed to patrol yet, just because he's a mutant. He doesn't think that's very fair.

It's also not fair that the others leave their little brother so often. Annoying siblings — especially Raph and somewhat Miwa — is his favorite past time, but how can he annoy them when they're on the surface?

The answer?

He can't.

Well, Mikey isn't completely alone. Their sensei and father, Splinter, stays in the sewers always. But that's just because he happened to have been a giant rat. Unlike Mikey, who has always been a turtle, Splinter used to be a human man. Maybe he should get his sensei to tell the story for the hundredth time.

Currently, Mikey sat on the couch upside down, his eyes fighting to stay open. He was counting the minutes for his older siblings to come home from school. However, he was really only waiting for Leo and Donnie. For completely different reasons, Miwa and Raph wounded up in after school detention (apparently it's a punishment. When Mikey was told, he of course laughed in his older siblings faces... which resulted him getting beaten up by both of them, but it was totally worth it).

Miwa was in detention for cussing out a teacher — why she felt the need to... or why her language was so vulgar, Mikey will never know. As for Raph, he got into a fist fight, but he refused to say why they were fighting in the first place. Needless to say, they are now both grounded.

So really, Mikey was only waiting for Leo and Donnie to get home at four o'clock... but much to the young turtle's disappointment, it was barely twelve o'clock. He still had hours ago. If only he had something to entertain himself with.

He already managed to very sneakily read Raph's comics. Leo reads comics too, but his are lame, so Mikey can't be bothered. Donnie has nothing interesting, except for his science stuff. As for Miwa, she only has a few books, and that's it. And reading books with only paper and ink is boring and for loser nerds... or whatever Miwa could be considered as, cause she's definitely not smart enough to be a nerd. Or at least not Donnie's level.

"My son, what are you doing?"

Mikey quickly sat up and leaned upright, feeling a rush of dizziness as he did so. Now sitting properly on the couch, he saw his father standing there in his traditional Japanese assemble. For a while, Splinter had been in a meditative state, but he must've came out of... clearly.

"Nothing," Mikey answered, "why?"

"You've been sighing for the past hour," Splinter said.

"Oh," Mikey said. That must have been annoying for sensei. "Sorry bout that." He added a sheepish grin.

"It's quite all right, Michelangelo," Splinter said. "Is something troubling you?"

"Wellllll now that you mention it..." Mikey decided that it was time to ask his father a very important question.
