(magic music Naruto like) can use the sound to injure people. Something like that Naruto has a possible genjutsu by using a medium most likely a instrument. Or if you want physical manipulation with his large chakra capacity, learns the wall walking by accident trying to do the leaf exercise in his hand, uses it to fight not as a grappler (been done) something interesting. I don't know.
Naruto is busy talking to Gamakichi (the orange toad summon little one in the beginning.) Talking about the stone sage statues, how they are both alive and dead. And how a few were summoner's of the past. Asking how they changed if it was possible to change them back Naruto hears about the sage stick, and how if your hit it can toss out the excess nature chakra. Thinking its stupid askes if placing the stick on the statue and having someone push in their own chakra like dispelling a genjutsu for someone unable to. The toad goes home to try it. Takes a long time toad sage asks pa to pick a certain statue one that was a summoner who before taking his chance at sage mode made the toads promise it was his choice if anything where to happen let his statue be the one to suffer so the toad ancesters that failed wouldn't be destroyed. They feel it would take a miracle because even if they got the balance the other still needs to want to wake up. (like someone dreaming- even if you dress a sleeping person and get them all ready for school, if their not awake they won't be ready for class type thing poor logic :{ …) The person who wakes up is a older uncle of kushina older man in his 60 up age and is told about Naruto comes out to train him naruto comes back from the training period stronger having been taught properly by this Uzumaki clansmen and jiraiya who imparted more on him since he was reciving more than just the minimal possible from him from someone else.

Naruto meets him and the man free himself by placing a fuinjutsu similar to the shisui's eye genjutsu on himself, alwell as one that prevents any other mental manipulation (one that can stop even shisui's eye genjutsu. ( I mean stop not prevent.) so it can be used on him but will last a very short time. Has Uzumaki jonin-kage level reserves with edo tensei starts to just use his chakra as a brush to make powerful fuinjutsu.
Naruto what if story, what if Naruto jealous about sasuke using fire jutsu and other shinobi during the Chunin exam being able to use elemental jutsu decides he wants to do so too. So as soon as he gets back into the village he goes out of his way looking for chakra paper to find his own elemental affinity, asks some shop keeper at a weapons shop if he knew how shinobi learned about using elemental ninjutsu. Eventually finds a shop but is tricked instead of getting a clean chakra paper gets a recently tossed trash paper where another poor genin was trying to use the paper as a guide to see if he was creating proper (only the corner is (wet cut dust) but the shop keeper who dislikes Naruto hides it and cut that part off (place element here not lightning or wind or fire)(possibly kekkei genkai type reaction or my hope if you want to keep him along regular shinobi path water being it is the most used during the beginning of the show.) so using the paper his chakra merges accidently with the other chakra making the paper get (wet or your choice) through the original process not his own affinity. Learns the hand signs of a few (place element here) ninjutsu d-c level from the Somewhere toads his own memory of the kakashi zabuza fight practices using his clones to motivate himself not because he knows the secret of the technique but to see you could do the technique faster (sort of like friends racing each other for fun but he uses himself sadness) and such by himself jiraiya only wants to teach him summoning. Able to get at least three no more than 8 jutsu maybe water because of haku and zabuza and seeing them fight. Able to fight neji by using those jutsu because he is a chakra power house and uses the clones somewhat wisely through seeing them use their technique in tandem to destroy a tree once.
Naruto two fold idea Naruto in wave or during his time with jiraiya finds a stone with the Uzumaki symbol on it (don't make it in uzushiogakure or wave uzushio) touching it gets the memeories of a uzu shinobi with a high fuinjutsu level knowledge. Or Naruto while practicing on water accidently falls into a whirlpool at the bottom where he grabs at anything maybe dropped something grabs it and a scroll and get to the surface. Contains a special seal at the bottom with instructions to hand the scroll over to mito Uzumaki-Senju contains special family history, special deeds and rights that the Uzumaki own-that were bought out since no one could find the deeds (issues of such sends issue to the damiyo who makes a deal that a portion of the profits made by the owners if business rent if homeowner by set up for properties and can be the go between in getting naruto most of the money that was the ending buying price . A perverprial library of jutusu scrolls for all the basic to advance techniques with detailed written accounts on uses seen or developed. Along with all sorts of fuinjutsu hand books chakra theory medical theories on Uzumaki chakra. Its unknown what all the scrolls sent contained. Maybe they all had the same thing. Can go with a pie slice of the uzushiogakure secret or all or it, information to prevent it from falling into other nations hands tied to mito and kushina (she was in the village around the destruction) blood. A Naruto ino fic where Naruto is set to fight ino during the chinin exams, she is able to goad him into pinning her as she uses her clan technique at blank range no one is able to stop her. Asuma and Kakashi come down confused ino/Naruto tells them she's in his body but they had seen her try to release the jutsu when she had her episode with his thoughts and memories. They take her to her father. Everything is the same except that she keeps hearing his thought (low evaluation of Kakashi) (uncle asuma or jiji's kid) (hospital= dangerous pain) takes three days for him to be released form the jutsu his body keeping her body active for the both of them messed up connection chakra feed back. During this time Naruto(ino) takes his body to get clothing in apology yes their must be orange but include more color or actual fashion sense make it tasteful maybe. Sakura fights kiba adds a different smoke bomb made to rise into kiba's she dodges a lot and runs using genjutsu a lot stay away from taijutsu make him use his clan jutsu to catch her, the gases mix and become (or nartuos brand equipment given in the forest to supplement her supplies) explosive wait until hes close to the cloud and throws a explosive knocks both of them out. Could have killed him but didn't want to or just wanted to knock him out with the explosive not or knockaway the smoke screen or didn't know the equipment would have such a strange result it being narutos and naruto usually not using the smoke bomb bad smoke bomb into special gas bomb telling him to die if someone tried to kill naruto he uses the ((smoke bomb to try to escape the person uses fire technique or explosive tag to get rid of the smoke booooooom like that )).
We all seen Naruto blend his chakra with moon light special chakra another rasengan, his mother had special chakra natured to seal, what if Naruto gained that sealing chakra from birth, so Naruto when fighting learns touching others when they use chakra can seal their chakra in their body, seal strength unlike Karin who can feel others chakra and blood allows for healing and chakra naruto's chakra naturally seals what he wants grasping people steals their strength and charka use finds out funnily.
I would like to bring everyone to the final war arc where the alliance of shinobi are fighting the gezo statue when it fires a imcomplete bijuudama. They are all given a full hand sign earth jutsu they all pool their technique into one. What if while hes young or while hes learning wind chakra he feels its not fast why do people need to do the chakra transformation first hes seen Chunin able to use jutsu from scrolls when he would secretly watch some of the training grounds. He remembers the third hokage saying all jutsu can be used with full hand signs the hand signs help with making the chakra transformation, simply causes increase in chakra use. Naruto naturally being a chakra battery on the side of all the training goes to the library to find older copies of earth jutsu. because both Kakashi and tenzo are very good with it. Also grabs others to at least learn the hand signs other elements. Tries using clones to caste the jutsus they pop faster but he is able to actually do the techniques. Starts to notice immediately that he feels a change in the nature of his chakra during the use. He goes to Kakashi and tenzo asking them what the earth nature is. Is told within thrity minutes is able to due it. They are shocked wondering how he is able he told them what he did, they tell him he did the exact opposite of what everyone does he told them he only worked on it for three days only like 20 clones, while all the work for the wind chakra has taken a week or so. They are shocked. I am sorry to say Naruto is just one of those characters has deep emotional issues that he ignores by using the weakest of bond to hold himself together like a man drowning will even take a strand of hair to save himself. Of course we never truly see this deep into Naruto psyche, whether assaulted by adults or bullies, he was for sure deeply ignored and ill treated socially everywhere he went. A top of this he had issues with understanding material in the academy, practicing without someone there to give comfort even just their presence made some thing very difficult. His skills easily peaked at what he was able to do, he need one on one training for long hours. He never would have been top of his class in my mind (if you consider him talentless) but I feel he is not talentless just mediocre in some areas or just full of potential to young to release. He could have comfortably sat in the middle of the class for all subjects except for taijutsu it has been seen he can take a lot of damage and he hits harder than someone of his body type (in the beginning skinner than he looked) but what if he was being treated wrong he body was made to copy lee and gai in strengthening himself, little talent in weapons but with the new method of learning the kage bushin he could have clocked years and years of experience if he started when he was in his teens. Ninjutsu powerhouse if he had chakra based techniques not to mention he could throw out many techniques even chakra expensive one they can't cost more than one kage bushin. Com'on really his reserves where huge if he was given chakra training technique that worked both on finesse and huge control. Other than some of the hokage years and decades older the zombie shinobi and the fish guy who had the sword to consistantly drain and fill his reserves to increase them faster than the bijuu, narutos lacking in his ability to use his chakra was his physic and mental over using chakra like a lot of it in one go so messing up a technique cost more than just the chakra it also cost stamina and mental concentration so shinobi like sakura can be less physically fit yet throw out many jutsu because they use the perfect amount while naruto can through a few and be winded because he uses to much. (bad example like working with a racket or club of some kind the finesse is hitting the ball or whatever where you want it the bigger is do the swing properly for Naruto his swing is constantly moving so he can never hit the place right he needs to do both at the same time in a easy enough exercise. Naruto is not talentless he is simply unblalanced with his education, his talent wouldn't make him a top teir shinobi skilled but fighting with jutsu and tai he could have made faster progress. Also geniuses like Itachi Kakashi Haku sort of Sasuke? Can be considered early bloomers (or a plant that grows very quickly when given proper gardening and fertilizer (meaning early training and absorbs skills fast)) Naruto compared to people like them could be considered talentless he needs longer to learn things but physically he could work leaps ahead. Naturally healing body could make him a nightmare aginst most for his powress not his skill. His talent like in the show is in working hard, he is a late bloomer even if he never trained heavily in ninjutsu or other technique other than taijutsu he could have been a copy of lee a powerhouse or the raizakage with out his lightning cloak. Naruto is a late bloomer as a young child the seal help increase his big reserves if it was pushing kyubbi charka into Naruto if it wasn't the sealing process itself caused naruto's chakra coils to increase to such sizes possible as his body developed the coils were able to grow. Using weapons even mediocre compared to a very talented individual like tenten would lose aginast a speed and power house like lee if not horribly out numbered unless he carries a special weapon made to deal with such situations like a metal infused cloak to spin around causing the weapons to fall away. Sort of reminds me of some demon king and hero stories not the kind where the hero is some young lad who meanders on his path growing strong er and stronger but of a older legend who has trained for years to the peak of the strongest of his generation or those alive, once called weak or average even genius at one time he took what he was good at and made it into his style surpassing others he ventures out to fight the demon king a genius of his kind who fought off others of his kind to rise to kingship vs the man who stands at the peak of mankind who was once just an average man maybe to stand at the top of his life.
Naruto discovers a seal that copies the lighting cloak supposed to be used for interregation the lighting chakra acts as a physical enhancer (hitman reborn idea) hardening his body. While the third raizakage body might have been partially because of a blood line Naruto doesn't tell anyone and it sporatically turns on at night eventually able to sleep through it, until graduation where Kakashi learn about it from the third hokage and iruka who sees it happen during the scroll incident. Hokage tells no one punishes (anko but I want ibiki) ibiki for losing the seal by having the man put out money for naruto's living expensives out of his pay. Only happens for a few years. Hiruzen has medics studying the situation. Usaually prisoners are unable to use their chakra when its used and in the field it would be single use and higher and piercing a single area instead of all over. Becomes extremely hard to cut/pierce healed by the kyuubi.
Naruto is able to use the most basic of physical genjutsu. Henge and kimiwari. His henge is different, and his regular bushin sucks but this is because he adds a shit load of chakra. Is Naruto was to hold his bushin and change it a bit and increase the number he could make it like the rain ninja form the forest of death the unkilliable bushins attacking from near and in the bushin. His kimiwari is jounin or chunin level able to show last moment tricking the opponents. Sakura is shown doing a static replacement around the Chunin exams meaning it's a higher level use as well as more genjutsu or chakra intensive. So Naruto made one day at being put off insulted or told no you just have no talent decideds to prove it wrong or figure out how to do it himself if they won't (ie cant figure out a way to do so in a short time) he travels to a quiet spot where he meets a man (nurahyon or someone similar) making poetry about the moon and the lake infront of him while sipping sake. Maybe genin Naruto or month break for Chunin exams Naruto Naruto not understanding since he doesn't really understand genjutsu of the delicate part of it. Asks questions gets some answers, told that if he can make himself the illusion then isn't that a genjutsu too. So Naruto goes in search of maybe taught (?) of a way to make a physical illusion remembers the original bushin thinks if he can add something to it to make it cooler itll work since he is awesome and the bushin is to noramal for it to work for himself. (well he is a kid and stuff not just stupid) So the jutsu would work like this, starting the jutsu allows the person to hold a bushin over his form and move it around himself in a few meters add in the special optical light movement of jiraiyas peaking jutsu maybe he sees him use it and talking about how what is seen is not real and what is hidden is real so he hides himself with the illusion and uses the (bushin) to fight. Doesn't really work well against the dojutsu unless jiraiya figured out a way to peak on Uchiha and hyuuga women with sharigans and byakugans, so like the nurahyon his bushin and himself over lap when he goes to attack the bushin or the fear goes in for the attack gets strucks becomes an illusion while he attacks in the blind spot or something like this his genjutsu is physical like the bushin maybe more chakra intensive but they can't kai themselves out of it because its not internally messing with their senses.
Naruto hears a wrong part of a conversation between Kakashi and guy when he goes to the hospital to visit sasuke and ask kakashi to teach him for the later part of the Chunin exams, Kakashi talking to guy about what he thinks of his team tell guy he was pushing sasuke over Naruto and sakura because of the three ignoring his altitude sasuke skills are at the very cusp of Chunin level and pushing him to Chunin would give something Naruto and sakura something to aim for as well as giving sasuke a bunch of new skills he can learn on his own time giving Kakashi more time to do some one on one with Naruto and sakura to either fill in the issue that are there and or push them towards a beginning of a better koinuchi training. Naruto only hears using Naruto to push sasuke stronger, where Naruto is skill wise hes not sasuke match or Chunin material yet but he put them in it to allow them to see a goal for the future. Guy is less then pleased in his pushing one student over the others, for he himself held his team back to avoid this issue to give them all a depth of time to get stronger and develop skills they need for their futures as shinobi. Naruto only hears he has potential for the future but sasuke is the one he hopes become Chunin first leaves before he hears how kakashi wants it so he can give more attention to him and sakura as sasuke would have more missions as well as more access to jutsu and mission logs as a Chunin. (genin have access to team tactics old codes maps basic jutsu, Chunin have access and are taught in depth codes, in depth weapons and the human body, from there ninjustu elemental training more control excersises fighting techniques possible time inside the special departments like cipher, t and I, and if their good enough anbu. (not all anbu are jonin but they all excel in stealth and are skilled in specific areas no including just ninjutsu (the idea is less is more in anbu) Naruto after wondering around comes back decides Kakashi must have a reason for his words even though they hurt it not like hes gonna focus on sasuke forever he must be trying to give him time to get even more awesome. After coming back hearing Kakashi tell him he's going to help sasuke seeing jiraiya beat up the other jonin and going through jiraiya training for a few days of distracted learning nothing other than faliures on his summoning and feeling depressed and ignored, he bets the other genin are getting better training then he is even though he is happy to get any training at all. Eventually he goes to the sandiame to get anything he feels angry tells the third he's happy that ero sennin is helping him but other than summoning some taijutsu which is just him fighting the elder with out any talking other than he needs to go back and review what he was taught. He ask the third its not like hes with jiraiya all day so any scroll will do you're the professor when I was young you told me that everyone can do almost any type of jutsu so long as they have enough chakra and chakra control, tells him hes not going to give him any elemental jutsu though that would takes months of time. So Naruto asks him to give him non elemental jutsu he learned the kage bushin in under an hour if not a col jusu like farting fire breathing lightning stomping and creating fissures a regular non elemental jutsu would work. (kage bukijutsu)(special concealment techiques )(sensor jutsus)(body agumentation through chakra ) (specific speed jutsu)(exploding clone maybe if you want to be a meane) I feel the third hokage had a plan for Naruto other than letting him suffer under kakashi around the time Naruto became Chunin give him tutors for the many aspects of shinobi trying to teach him to be hokage from the time he become Chunin actually teach him as he wants , fuinjutsu later around his later teens years to prevent early experimentation with his seal. Make up a few jutsu maybe even set it up as techniques made to replace low rank elemental jutsu but placed aside because they need more chakra tthan the original jutsu but has a better greater chakra to power outage than the regular jutsu. Wind palm more technique greater the push something like chakra palm more chakra put in the greater the shock wave or the greater the vibration made when it hits. Practices when not around jiraiya finds them usefull and able to do them in a week. Maybe after returning with Tsunade goes to her and asks for more non elemental jutsu that he could learn.
Naruto after hearing about tsunades super strength from the third hokage saying it all about minute manipulations of the muscles and joints to gain super strength beyond the bodies natural ability. Just uses a lot of chakra like opening one fo the gates it hurts in the beginning as he masters water walking and tree climbing understands and is able to lessen thepain in the areas where it hurts and increses it where it doesn't and his strength increases many fold. Using it improperly based on pain could because its effecting the tissue or the nerves not the muscles or joint pain
Naruto avatar crossover Naruto is an old hermit in the mountains a cross blood of some of the tribes that can control swamp, sand, plants? Expresses that their was once five great nations lightning lost it ability to be bended years ago teachs aang that as the avatar he is the weakest of all benders his abilies with each element individually is genius level but as a bender he is weak, shows him bending multiple element easily besting aang as he is forced to switch styles while Naruto uses a loose style with bits and pieces of all elements. Can't use all elements but they can see the signs.
Naruto meets a traveling seal master. A type of chakra user who travels city to city using his abilities (low to medium) for hire with business men or semi high ranking officals for a lower price than shinobi's. Would love to look at something about the intricacies of fuinjutsu that meld with regular ninjutsu there a few like where Naruto goes to the nadeshiko village and figths against the puppeteer who jutsu when finished shows a fuinjutsu pattern 99 puppet destruction 100 binding soul seal. Or something like that how to do such things work for fuinjutsu to be so interconnected to ninjutsu like the summoning technique how is the fuinjutsu connected to the ninjutsu hand signs?
Naruto discovers sealing as a 5 year old not understanding anything other than sealing are just a bunch of written symbols perfectly drawn, not understanding that to create regular seals all the symbols are connected to create full symbol like sealing scrolls have different type the center of each scroll depends on the drawer as well as the item being placed inside. Like the one shown of the first hokage's sealing scroll has the senju symbol at the middle surrounded by the numerous text in block going in either direction. Tentens scroll show a long texts extending the whole scroll. Being five and not understanding the need for a full sequence and proper placement for the sealing he knowing only a few seal symbols like the Uzumaki symbol fire water earth lightning metal words that as a kid he's learning to write. Thinking hes able to do it, he follows the instructions that he knows ink blood/some thing substitute his young, using a make shift brush he writes a paper only of fire or something or one big fire and pushes his burgeoning chakra into the symbol and he starts a fire that he can control with his mind. As he gets older adds more symbols to it. As he gains more understanding of fuinjutsu he gains more understanding to hand signs and begins trying to make his own jutsu.
Naruto decides the night before the Chunin exams he will tell his team he doesn't want to participate, remembering how strong haku was and how weak he was compared to him decides until he is that strong he doesn't feel ready to take the exams. Sakura's mad for trying to drag sasuke behind sasuke mad for Naruto chickening out, Kakashi is confused thought Naruto would be the one to rush in head first. (they try to get him reconsider but he wont and they miss the exam, the teams go on.) sakura and sasuke wont talk to Naruto when they go to practice as a team, Naruto ignores their silence and puts a bunch of effort in fighting like a shinobi like making a bunch of clones and fighting in groups going into the trees fighting near the water stuff like that training for all his worth. Sasuke not entering makes a few plans go awry, Naruto hearing about some of the genin getting hurt goes to the hospital and meets gaara again. Lee is alive(if you want) possible taken by jiraiya anyway and Kakashi still trains sasuke for the month (possibly because of the invasion leaked)(the sword guy last moments left a message. Or something how would the Chunin exams and naruto's 'friends' feel about him not entering the exams how would everything be different. Would the three other teams have made it all the way to the finals? Would Karin have died? What would orochimaru have done? the sound team?
Listen to the song of amazing grace the sound that saved, that line made me think up a what if Naruto story Naruto while on mission my thought before Chunin but after wave, Naruto takes a break outside a building any kind your choice, hears a beautiful song from within, listens for an hour walks home/place hes staying humming the song mental state very relaxed he just sits there feeling his chakra sinks into a meditative state and the more relaxed he feels the more his chakra starts to go to his humming turning into a genjutsu. Ive had trouble understanding why Naruto can caste the bushin and the kimiwari (or at least the illusion point of it to fake out the opponent) These are physical illusion then tayuya must have a lot of chakra for her to caste a sound genjutsu I mean if she can't see her opponent than if a lot of people came than do they all get caught and waste her chakra. Instead of putting a person into a fake world like a normal genjutsu narutos affect the metal state, causing sleepiness, fear, rage, happiness. Confusion him humming and if he could throw his voice he could fight disrupting the mental state of his opponent. I mean he could possible to a genjutsu is he had a special device for assistance. I mean he might have done the bushin if he didn't try to do so little amount? They may have been trash but the issue is you could see his visible chakra that must have been a warning sign for hes using a lot of chakra instead of telling him you used to much for just three clones, no they just yell at him is it any question why Naruto who should be a chakra master in a way can't even feel his chakra right, it makes sense because hes following regular thoughts process of what the other student need to be wary of don't use to much chakra becareful, if it doesn't work put more chakra into it. Instead he should have been told focus less on the chakra you use the less you can then just let the jutsu go, don't restrict the number. They suck as teachers. I mean iruka is able to find him most likely because of his easy to track chakra signature and the size of it. I mean really when the student visibly makes his chakra appear and all the charka goes into just three clones I think the problem is obvious fuckers go actually get teaching licenses fuckers. Yes I know genjutsu is about finely controlling the opponents senses but if it was a feeling not complete control like a sense of danger or that twinge you feel before your get hit or something is off what if Naruto could do that? A simplistic genjutsu but one that could throw you off a steady heart verse a disturbed heart or mind can change how someone fights.
Naruto when making the clones for his kage bushin makes a single clone first not noticing the clone goes and starts copying the jutsu in the scroll of seal looking for jutsus that don't say suicide or death, so other than the kage bushin explosion no suicide jutsus, or edo tenshi (to complicated for pre genin Naruto) something like ifinite darkness genjutsu from the second hokage, special chakra gem creation (made by mito and the first hokage) directions to the secret room for mito Uzumaki (that special room possible in the senju building but special seals to get in the bed has special seals for health and stuff.
