"Why have you summoned me, Boy?" Its voice was raspy and wispy like it was talking from far away.
Naruto stared, Ten golden fox tails waved lazily behind him. "Shinigami I wish to make a deal. Ever since Kurama and I merged and became the new Juubi I have lived three more life times, suffering through love and loss, pain and rage, happiness and joy. I wish to die."
"Your immortality cannot be taken away even by a being such as myself, what is it you wish to deal over."
Naruto stood up a little straighter his gaze never leaving the Shinigami's. "As long as my body and soul exists, I will revive even from nothing like the other bijuu's. I wish to give my body to you and allow my soul to pass."
The Shinigami cackled long and hard. "Fool, always the fool Uzumaki Naruto. Even then that will not kill you, you are truly immortal, the demon has seen to that." The Shinigami licked his lips as he unsheathed his dagger. "I can though banish you from this mortal plain and send your soul to another world. Even then you will be immortal unable to die, but I can give you more time. Here in this plain I am the true death god, but in another the death god gave over his duties to the souls he collects into his realm. There they can easily live through the millennia. Your fate is hard, to live connected to those who can die before you will forever be your burden. I will send your soul into that world, but to do so I must separate your soul from your body."
Saying that the Shinigami swung his blade forcing Naruto's soul out of his body. The blast of reitsu that rushed forth made even the Shinigami balk. "So powerful, truly you have the strength to live up to your title." With that said Naruto fell to the ground panting has the Shinigami exerted its full force upon Naruto. "But remember child you have the strength but none of the skill to wield it." It looked at Naruto when a devious idea came to mind. "Boy you truly are unique." It pointed towards the chain on Naruto's chest, before cutting it. It cackled as a bright flash of light enveloped Naruto.
When the light faded, Naruto stood the difference was the two blades on his hips one radiated hollow reitsu, the other shinigami reitsu. "So I was right your two souls balanced you out making you neutral." The shinigami shirked, the boy never ceased to amuse him.
"What that mean?" Naruto questioned the being.
"I ripped out your chain and forced a change in you body to see the balance of your soul. You see boy, there are positive souls that are allowed to travel to heaven, and negative souls that are forced into eternal suffering, you and the fox balance out perfectly making you neither making you have both powers of a plus and negative soul."
Naruto mearly scrunched up his face totally lost.
"Before I rip you from this reality I will separate your soul from the fox's this is a sheathed state of being for you. In essence it is a restrictor on you powers, you'll lose your bijuu powers but retain the rest of you strength and the fox will become one of you Zanpaktou." The shinigami stabbed Naruto through a bright light enveloped him again, when it died down Naruto was Naruto again with out the ears and tails.
"It's gone." Naruto screamed in surprise. "I thought you said you couldn't get rid of my immortality?"
"I cannot fool, I just forced your soul and the fox's from being one and made them two again, you still have the power but it now lies within your swords. Your still immortal but its just easier to 'kill you' in this state."
"So how do I use my new powers?" Naruto asked looking towards the Shinigami.
"Figure it out on your own. Goodbye Uzumaki Naruto." With that a tear in reality opened and Naruto was thrown into it.
Somewhere soul Society
With a great crash Naruto found himself in a crater all around him was plains as far as the eye could see. "Oww, that bastard could have at least sent me into civilization." Naruto spoke out load as he stood up and dusted himself off.
Naruto woke up as a heavy energy crashed on his being. Looking up he saw a large Gillian walking through a girgartian.
"Kit, unseal me." Kurama's voice echoed through naruto's mind. "Ok, how?" Naruto asked. The great demon fox faulted. "The black sword kit, unsheathe it and repeat after me. Creature of calamity, almighty demon of destruction…"
Somewhere close by Genrusai Shigekuni Yamamoto watched, by his side Unohana Retsu. Together they had felt Naruto's erratic reitsu signature from this location and had come to investigate.
"devour the world Kuruma."
