Dad, is the sign really necessary?" Jazz asked her dad, who was holding a large cardboard sign that read Sam Manson in bold black letters

"Of course, it's necessary, Jazzy pants. How else will Sam notice us in the crowd?" Jack answered

"You're a six-foot-two man in a bright orange jumpsuit next to a five-six woman in a blue jumpsuit. I think she'll notice," Jazz said with a deadpan.

Danny rolled his eyes, waiting with his family, Tucker, and Sam's grandma. Her parents were nowhere to be seen, not wanting to be seen in public with 'those freaky Fentons' and not even to pick up their only daughter from the airport.

"Flight 243 from Paris France now disembarking" was announced over the PA before the terminal opened as people poured out. Some rushed to make connecting flights, some meeting with friends and family.

Tucker noticed Sam first. "Sam over here"

Sam actually smiled, seeing them rushing over. She dropped her duffel bag, pulling him and Tucker into a bear hug. "Finally, normal people."

"Maddie, get the Fenton de programming kit. The Mansons sent Sam somewhere to brainwash her."

"If they did, they're going to get it," Ida grumbled furiously

"No deprogramming necessary; it's just really good to be with normal people again," Sam said, holding him and Tucker tightly

"Sam, the air needed," Tucker wheezed out

Sam finally let go. Danny took in a grateful breath.

"Your exchange family was the fashion designer Gabriel Agreste, wasn't he," Jazz said, figuring Sam was just being overly judgmental. "I know you have your opinions about how shallow the fashion industry is, and he probably disagreed with you, but isn't it a little extreme to say he isn't normal?"

"His job has nothing to do with how ridiculously controlling that man is," Sam disagreed passionately, finally letting loose how much she truly hated Gabriel without it backfiring and him taking it out on Adrien.

"He overworks Adrien daily, scheduling him to take Mandarin lessons, fencing, and working five to six hours as a model while attending school. While I was there, Adrien was supposed to watch me as another chore and make sure I wasn't an 'embarrassment' to the Agreste name." Sam was nearly shouting at this point. Danny knew if Sam was the one with the ghost powers, this Gabriel guy would be six feet under by now.

"If he does anything even the slightest bit wrong, he gaslights him, saying how his dead mom would be disappointed in him, and he threatens to pull him out of school from his friends. He doesn't even do it in person. He gives commands through a tablet his assistant holds all the time."

'Yikes,' Danny thought, horrified and disgusted.

He'd heard from his girlfriend Marinette how controlling Gabriel Agreste was, but Danny didn't know it was as extreme as the way Sam described it. The Fruitloop was a better parent.

'I don't know what feels worse, that I thought it or that it's true,' Danny thought.

Danny noticed the adults all looked furious. "Mads, what do you say we take a trip to Paris and introduce Mr. Agreste to the Fenton Anticreep stick."

"As much as I'd love to, it's illegal," Maddie said, looking disappointed but furious.

Ida looked furious, too, but knew there wasn't much she could do. "Let's just head home, bubble"

Sam nodded, grabbing her carry-on as the Fentons Foley and two Mansons headed home, unaware that a reporter had heard all of that and sent a text to his boss that he had a story for him.

In Paris, Gabriel Agreste frowned in contemplation as he watched footage of Ladybug and Chat Noir defeating Akuma after Akuma.

Initially, Gabriel had written Chat Noir off as the weakest member of a canon that Ladybug would aim and fire. Still, recently, Chat Noir had become stealthy and cunning, and Ladybug was equal instead of just a mere subordinate.

Ladybug had improved drastically, too, since she had started appearing in America. If only he had taken them seriously when they were weak and overwhelmed them with sheer force

Unfortunately, that was no longer an option. Gabriel would have to use different tactics to attack them indirectly. If only he knew their identities, he'd utterly annihilate their loved ones and destroy them emotionally.

But he didn't, thanks to the concealing magic of the miraculous. Unless they chose to reveal themselves to him, the magic would hide their identities.

"I don't know who you are behind the mask, Ladybug, but you were still foolish enough to expose your weakness," he said, sneering at the frozen image of Danny Phantom fighting alongside Ladybug.

'This has gone on long enough. I will get your miraculous, and I will burn down the entire universe to get you back, Emilie,' he swore.

"Only a few more minutes and Marinette will be back…" Tom said, feeling excited to see his daughter again after being in America for a month.

"I'm excited to see Marinette as well, dear. I hope she had made new friends during her time in America…" Sabine said.

"Knowing Marinette, he has made many new friends…" the heavyset Baker smiled.

As the plane landed, the two parents waited to see their beloved daughter again.

Marinette exited the lobby with her bag and raced towards her mother and father.

"Hey Mama, Papa, I'm home..." Marinette hugged her parents.

"We miss you so much, Marinette. How did you enjoy America?" her father asked.

"It was good, papa. Many things differed from Paris, but I got used to it..." Marinette answered.

"I'm so glad you got to enjoy your time in America. Did anything happen while you were living with your host family?" Sabine asked.

"Everything went well with them. They had their quirks but were nice people, especially Danny..." Marinette sighed dreamily as she said his name.

"And who is this so-called Danny?" Tom asked his daughter with a teasing smirk.

"He was the host family's son, and we got along well, then we became boyfriend and girlfriend..." Marinette blushed.

"That is great, Marinette. I can't wait to meet and make him a special Marracroon for you and him..."

"I thought you had a big crush on that Adrien fellow?" Sabine was confused about her daughter falling for another guy.

"Wait, what? I don't have a crush on Adrien. Danny is the one I like now, and I think of Adrien only as a good friend, and that is all..." she corrected her mom.

"Okay then, I hope we see this Danny soon..." Sabine smiled.

As the Dupain Chengs left the airport, Marinette's heart fluttered when she thought about her American boyfriend.

After making it home, Marinette rushed to her room, happy to see that everything she had left was still in the same spot she had left a month ago.

As she lay on her bed, Marinette called Alya to say she was home.

"Hey Alya, I'm back home…" Marinette started.

"I'm so glad that you made it home safely, Marinette. So, how was the trip back?" Alya said.

"It was fun, especially with Danny with me..." Marinette dreamily said.

Alya was surprised by her response because she had a huge crush on Adrien. "Knowing that, looking at your face, it seems Danny is your new Adrien. Am I right?" Alya asked her best friend.

"Well, um, I think Danny is like that to me even after he kissed me at the airport. It was like fireworks when we did..." Marinette was slightly unsure, but she still had that dreamy look.

"He kissed you?" Alya was surprised.

"Yes, and it was the best kiss I ever had..." Marinette swooned over the kiss the two had before she left for Paris.

"Right. I think you should get over Adrien before you continue dating Danny..." the reporter said.

"But I really like Danny, and I don't want to tell Adrien what I felt about him..." the fashion designer whined.

"If you don't tell Adrien, then it will only cause more awkwardness between you and him..." Alya made her point.

"You have a point, but it will be hard to tell him. If I could tell him when I was in love with him, then how I will tell him if I'm with my Spectral knight..." Marinette felt more worried.

"Spectral knight? Is that a nickname you gave him because he acts like a knight and lives in the most haunted town in America..." Alya guested.

"Yeah, but I don't have the confidence to tell Adrien how I feel compared to when I'm with Danny..." Marinette sighed sadly.

"Don't worry, Marinette; I got your back alongside everyone else. Once you get over this, you and Danny won't have any more problems..." Alya said confidently.

"Thanks, Alya, you are the best friend a girl can ever have!" as the Ladybug wielder smiled, the two best friends talked throughout the night.
