"Sam, what's taking them so long. It's been hours." Piper, no longer making potions was sitting outside in the backyard. She needed air and had asked Sam to join her.

"Piper, I'm sure they're fine. My brother and your sisters are resourceful and smart. All of us took the vow to protect innocents. They also have Anna. She can communicate with Heaven. Everyone will come home."

"What about Ruby. She's a demon."

"Don't worry about her. She hates Alistair as much as we do. I'm sure she wants him dead."

Sam and Piper were currently sitting on a bench holding each other till they heard Paige's voice.

"GUYS! We got news!"

Both Sam and Piper came running inside. What they saw made them stop dead in their tracks. Dean was there holding a young teenage boy who looked like he needed to in a hospital ASAP, but that wasn't what made them stop. It was Jo Harvelle. Sam thought she was killed by Hellhounds.

"Jo? What happened? Where's Anna?" Sam couldn't believe it.

"Later Sam." Dean needed answers too, but not now.

"Captured by angels. The angel Uriel ordered her arrest." Paige answered.

"And Phoebe?" Piper asked worried.

"She's safe. She is with that woman Jade." Prue answered.

"Jade, who's Jade?" Piper asked.

"A friend. Sam come help me."

Sam hurriedly helped Dean put the boy on the couch.

"What happened? What happened to Alistair?"

Dean filled them in.

A Few Hours Earlier

"Jo? How?"

"Not now, Phoebe here says her angelic friend is in trouble. She won't leave without him."

"My friend. Alfie, he's screaming for help. I need to help him. Alfie is too nice to be in trouble." She said in a childlike voice.

Anna walked towards Phoebe.

"Phoebe, honey? I promise to save Alfie. I'm a angel too."

"You are an angel?" Phoebe walks up to her and holds up her hand. "You are. You are different. You were born with a soul. Do you promise to save Alfie?"

"Yes. He is my friend too. I will save him."

"Thank you. I'll hide now."

"Phoebe, go see the nice woman in the front. Her name is Jade. She will protect you."

"Jade? Who's Jade? Is she a new nurse?" Jaime/Jo asked.

"She is the one who defeated the demons from the nursing station. She works here as a VIP of the hospital. She is an expert on the supernatural. Jo can you take her there?" Dean asked.

"What?! No! My job is to protect Phoebe. Killing Alistair is part of my job."

"Jo. This isn't the time to argue. Alistair isn't a regular run of the mill demon. He is one of the most powerful, oldest demons in existence. No human or angel hasn't been able to defeat him. Not since The Beginning." Anna explained.

"But..."

"Jo. Please. We don't know if we can kill him. The angels have no clue."

"Wait a minute. Angels are real? Then that means..."

"Another time. Please protect Phoebe. Go see Jade. She will help you. That is your job, right?" Dean looks at her pleadingly.

Jo sighed. She knew deep down Dean and Anna were right.

"Fine. I'll go. C'mon Phoebe, I have a story to tell you."

"Really? Can you finish the one from before? The one about the evil dogs?"

"Yes, I promise."

Jo looks back at Dean and Anna.

'Good luck.' She mouths as she and Phoebe walk down the hall.

"Anna. Are you ready?"

"No. But I have a job. I may not be an angel anymore, but I have a duty to Heaven. I'm going to pray now Dean. Wait in the hall."

Dean squeezes her arm in support. He wanted to apologize to Anna for his part of the breakup, but he knew Anna already forgiven him. He hoped he could say the words to her in person. Just in case. He owed her that much. Five minutes later. Anna walked out looking stressed.

"Anna, you alright?"

"I'm fine. Uriel will meet me upstairs. Be careful Dean. Alistair is truly evil. He'll torture you in ways your movies and books cannot describe. Do not let your guard down. Don't listen to anything he tells you. He is slick."

"Okay. If we come out okay, I need to say something to you."

"Later. We have a job to do."

They nod in understanding. After double checking the coast is clear and seeing Jade talking to Phoebe and Jo, they slowly go to the staircase where Alistair is. Dean was a hunter, but was terrified. This may be the hardest case he ever did. Swallowing quickly he and Anna climbs the steps.

Anna felt nothing but dread. She accepted her fate, but she hoped Heaven forgave her. She had a feeling Alistair was the least of her problems. Holding her angel blade she heard Samandriel's moans. He was on the other side of the door. She prayed again to Uriel. She didn't see Alistair, but she knew he was close. She had a hand on the door, before Dean stopped her.

"Anna! Wait!" Dean whispered.

"What is it Dean?" Anna whispered back.

"I'll go first. He wants you. He won't give a shit about me. A human. But a ex-angel, he would grab you and run."

"You're human. You'll bleed."

"I grew up my whole life as a hunter. I fought shapeshifters, werewolves, and any other nasty things out there. But none of them are as scary as my father, John Winchester, when he was piss drunk. But not as much as he was sober and pissed. This Alistair is a pussy."

Anna smiles at Dean's joke. But she relented. She allowed Dean to go first. Dean pushes Anna down the stair and opens the door. What he saw made his heart jump. There was sigils everywhere. The symbols alone wasn't that made him afraid, it was the power radiating of it. His body and soul sang from the magic. Every cell was vibrating. Dean wanted to faint. He knew if he had magic powers, it would eat him alive.

Anna cautiously walked inside. She didn't see Alistair, but she kept her guard up. Holding her angel blade she walked in. She saw Samandriel. His vessel was bleeding, but that wasn't the worst part, it was his grace. He was almost drained.

"Ah, I see you brought the girl. Thank you."

Dean and Anna turned around. There was a man standing behind the door. His eyes were white. Just like Lilith, the first demon.

"You didn't bring the witch? Too bad. If she had her powers, she would have made an excellent slave. Her powers would have given as an edge. She would have been a great demon. Better than the damned souls we have right now. Oh well. But a angel. Mmm. Such a good little girl. A pastor's daughter, even better. The things we'll do to you. What about it." Alistair looks at Dean. "Well than, Dean, Dean, Dean. You are one strong man. If you have taken that deal all those years ago, you would have made a great apprentice."

"Doesn't matter. We are here to stop you. Give it up." Dean ordered. He forced his teeth to not rattle.

"Yeah. It's over Alistair." Anna added.

"Hmph. Too much talking. Your stupid brother broke the seals years ago. And from then on Lucifer walked the Earth. You didn't stop him. You, angel-girl, if you hadn't taken that extra shift, your parents would still been alive. Neither of you are righteous. Did you know you were supposed to break the first seal? When your brother died, you were supposed to take the deal from the crossroads demon. In a year, you would been on the rack with me. But you didn't. You were willing to let Sam die and rot. So someone else broke the first seal. Someone close to you."

"No. No. He was a good man. He never would have broke like that. He is pure."

"You think so. But he knew he was going to die. So he made a deal. His soul for yours. Yes he died. But he came back. But not before he broke the first seal. Lucifer gave him a deal. All he needed is to torture one soul. Just one. Lucifer and your brother were quite close. You know, since he is Lucifer's True Vessel. Lucifer is an angel. He and Michael planned this whole shebang, too bad Lucifer turned his back on us. Oh well. You know why your brother died but not you? It wasn't an accident. It was all planned. Sam knew it. If he hadn't made that deal, you would have the one who died."

"You talk too much. Anna! Now!"

Anna mumbled something, most likely Enochian. The room started shaking. Alistair looked at Anna and stretched his arms toward her to grab her, but before he did, Dean slapped his cuffs on Alistair. Alistair started laughing.

"Ha, ha, ha! You clever sun of a bitch. Oh, well. Do your chant. Send me back. Send me home. Can't stand to be in this ice box anyway. Just one more thing. I didn't want your angel bitch, I wanted you. You are the one. You are..."

"Dean! Close your eyes!" Anna shouted.

Dean shut his eyes and then he heard a loud screeching noise. He recognized it as a angel. He dove to the floor and covered his ears while keeping his eyes tightly shut. After feeling a gust of wind, there was nothing. A few minutes later Dean found himself alone.

"Anna?"

Dean looked around, other than Samandriel, he was alone. But he noticed Alistair was gone. His handcuffs were on the floor. Dean was contemplating on what to do when he heard a moan. Samandriel was waking up.

"Anna? Anna?" He whimpered.

Dean walked towards him.

"Buddy. Hey, you alright?"

"Where's Anna? And Alistair?"

"Gone. An angel took them. How are you feeling?"

"Tired. So tired. I need sleep."

"Wait buddy. You need to stay awake. If you sleep, you'll never wake up. Stay with me. Talk about Heaven. Tell me about the magic."

"Heaven? I need to go home. God is mad. I used His Spell."

"Samand...Alfie, what is the spell you used. You can't leave without it. You need to remember."

"It was.." Than Alfie mumbled something in Enochian.

"Good. You need to say the same thing, but in reverse. Can you do that?"

Alfie nodded. He said something, then Dean felt the room change. The magic was down.

"Good. Good. Alfie, we are getting out of here. You are going home. Your friends in Heaven are waiting for you. Let's go."

Dean took Alfie and carried him downstairs. Alfie's vessel was skinny, and for that Dean was grateful. Dean carried Alfie down the hall where Jo and the others were. Jo brightened when she saw Dean.

"Dean! Where's Anna?"

"I don't know. I think the angels took her. Alistair is gone too."

Phoebe brightened when she saw Alfie.

"Alfie! You're safe! Oh no! You are sick. You need a doctor, a real doctor. Not that Dr. Meanie."

"Oh good. You brought the angel. I assume Anna is with that Uriel. I see. Look, Phoebe can stay with me. I can let Jo out tonight with a pass. But I need her back here by tomorrow, so I can write her discharge papers. As for Phoebe, I see her mind is still broken. I'll keep her here for now. But I'll make arrangements for her to be transferred. Tell her sisters, that she will be safe. I will take her somewhere where she won't be hurt. She still needs time to heal." Jade told Dean.

"You promise Phoebe would be safe? What about the room upstairs? It still has magic." Dean said.

"I will write a note forbidding anyone from entering upstairs. I will seal it from everyone. This won't be a first time I sealed a room. Go. I already called your friends, they are waiting by your car."

"Ms Jade, I need to protect Phoebe. I have to protect her. I have orders." Jo pleaded.

"Do not worry. I will make absolutely sure Phoebe is safe, your benefactor doesn't have to know. I will update you with new developments. Go. I'll tell the day staff you went home to check on your mom." Jade waved her off.

"Okay. Thanks. C'mon Dean. Phoebe. I promise, I'll see you again."

"Bye Jaime. Bye Dean. Alfie, get better, I'll see you again! Tell my sisters I miss them."

"We will. Take care." Jo hugs Phoebe before she left with Dean.

"There is a back door, there you can leave. Security rarely go there. It is located down the hall just beyond the exercise room. Just go left, and you will see a staircase. Just swipe your security card. In the bottom, there is an exit. Now go." Jade waved them off.

After checking to see the coast is clear, they go downstairs.

"Jo, how? Who are you working for?" Dean grunted. Normally walking downstairs would be no issue, even while carrying someone. Dean was still feeling the after effects of that magic. He was breathing hard.

"Long story." Jo wondered what happened upstairs, but knew better than to ask. Her superiors would find out anyways. "Your friend, is she.." Jo hoped Anna was alright, those demons were scary.

"I don't know." Dean said honestly. He hoped they took mercy on her. Anna's only crime was thinking for herself.

Once they reach the bottom of the stairs, Dean double checks for any alarms or traps. Once he figured out there wasn't any, he checks to make sure they were alone. He nods to Jo to open the doors.

"Hurry." Once they spot the Impala, all three book it to the car.

"Dean!" Paige was tempted to orb them to the car, but thankfully didn't, she and Prue weren't sure if it was safe to use magic. Both were forced to wait a few blocks over, till they got a text from Jade.

"God, I hate waiting." Paige drove Dean's car, she and Prue flipped for it.

"Why didn't you take the SUV? It's much bigger." Prue wondered why Paige didn't take Piper's vehicle, she gave her permission.

"I'm sure Dean would prefer to drive his own car." Piper and Sam were waiting at the manor, if they needed Sam, he and Piper can fight any demon that might show up to counterattack, plus with Piper's powers, they could easily defend themselves.

Prue shrugged. Hearing a alert, she checks her phone.

'Your friends are on their way. Backdoor, but be stealthy'

"Let's move."

Once she got the text, they drive to the hospital.

'C'mon Dean. Hurry.' It was only a minute, but it felt like hours. Five minutes later, they see Dean carrying who she had to assume was that angel, plus a unfamiliar blonde girl.

"I'm driving!" Dean ordered.

"Dean, what's going on?" Once everyone was strapped in. Jo was sitting in the back with Prue and Alfie, who was in the middle. "Where's Phoebe?" They came here to rescue her.

"Long story." Dean filled everyone in as he speeds away. He had to get the hell out of there.

"Uriel? Wasn't he..".

"A dick." That's all Dean needed to know. "Alfie, he needs a hospital, but I don't know any that specializes in angels."

Paige wondered who this girl was. She was young, but wearing her hospital gown, she saw healed scars on her body.

"Sam and Piper will want to know what happened in there." Prue wished she met Alistair herself. She wondered if the Power of Three would destroy him. "Will Phoebe be okay?"

"She should be. Jade, she said she'll be moved to a safe place." Dean took the long way, using less travelled roads, he was afraid of being followed.

Forty five minutes later, arrive back in the manor.

"Finally!" Piper was starting to get restless. "Where's Phoebe?" She saw the angel, but didn't know who the blonde was.

"Dean! What's going on?" Sam was dying to know what went down. "Jo?" Sam couldn't help but hug her. "How?" He saw that explosion.

"She's fine. Don't worry, I trust Jade. She will protect Phoebe." Dean carries Alfie to the couch.

"Later." Jo didn't want to talk about it at the moment. She hugs Sam, she was glad to see a old friend. She brushed aside that time Sam was possessed by a demon, Sam was a victim. "I'll tell you after. I need to make a phone call. Can I borrow someone's phone?"

"Here you go." Paige handed her phone. Jo thanked her and went to another room.

"Sam, can I talk to you. It's important." Dean's glare, Sam knew it anywhere.

Sam sagged. He knew this day was coming. He should have told Dean years ago, but things kept happening.

"Let's go outside." Once they got outside, Dean lays into Sam.

"What the FUCK! Sam, did you make a deal?"

"Yes."

"What!" Dean couldn't help but raise his fist. "The things I sacrifice for. Why Sam?" What Alistair said. That Dean was supposed to make a Deal.

Sam was quiet for a long time. His cheek was sore, but he needed to tell Dean the truth.

"Remember the game Azazel made us play? The ones with the gifted children? Azazel pulled me aside, and told me he needed to get rid of you. He was planning to have Jake, the most physically strongest man there stab me."

"I know I was there." Dean hated thinking about that dark time.

"I know. What I saw in my vision. My other self. I died, and you made a demon deal with the crossroads demon to bring me back. But what Azazel didn't count on is you letting me go after Jake killed me. I'm psychic. I seen it all. The other truth. My death, and your Deal. You would have died in a year, and your soul sent to Hell. It would have started the Apocalypse. It would've been a bloodbath. I knew you wouldn't make a Deal. For that thank you."

"Sam.."

"No. You were right listening to Dad. He knew there was something wrong with me. I had a dream. It was an angel. He said his name was Lucifer, but I believe it was Michael. He needed Lucifer out of the Pit. So he showed me a vision. Our other selves, they were selfish. The other you, he made a Deal. His actions started The End. I didn't want that from you. I said yes. I didn't want to tell you, because I know you'll stop me."

"Yes I would." Dean remembered sitting by Sam's dead body. He sat there for a very long time, talking to Sam like nothing was wrong.

Flashback

"NOOOO!" Dean runs as fast as he can.

Jake runs off after he stabs Sam, Bobby giving chase.

Sam tries to call out Dean's name, but the blood was flooding his throat. Right before Sam falls, Dean grabs him.

"No. No. No. Easy there little brother." Dean babbled. Please god. Sam's eyes were starting to get unfocused, he was trying to look at him. "Hey Sammy. It's not even that bad." There was so much blood, Dean saw it on his hand after touching Sam's back. "Look at me, it's not even that bad. Okay. Sam!" Sam was starting to lose consciousness. "We'll patch you up, you'll be as good as new..." Dean knew. But he refused to see it. "Sammy. Sammy?" Please no. "SAM!"

"SAAMMM!"

Dean's eyes were blank watching the fire. He never answered any of Bobby's questions, he just needed to be alone.

"You sure you don't need a ride?" There's no way Dean could drive, not in this state.

"I'll be fine Bobby." They just finished burying Sam's ashes. It was a place Sam always said he wanted to be, always sleeping underneath a empty field, looking up forever at the stars. Dean opens the trunk and takes out a gun. "We have to keep those Gates from opening up." Dean was going to make sure Jake suffers, slowly and painfully.

Dean cried hard later that week, he went to Sam's gravesite to say goodbye.

"Hey Sammy." Dean was holding a paper bag. "Thought you like to share a beer. I bought two. Your favorite kind." Dean opens his car door and turns on his stereo. CCR's 'Have You Ever Seen The Rain' started playing. "No offense, but I won't play your girlie music." Dean opens his beer. "It's so beautiful out here." Dean was watching the sunset. "Just to let you know, we took care of Jake. Bastard was killed by a demon. I almost shook its hand." Dean chuckled. "I'm not a killer, I know you would hate me for seeking revenge. Karma did her job." Dean took another sip. "Wherever you are Sammy, I'll find a way. Until then." Dean takes out the second beer and puts in on the ground. "You'll be thirsty when you get up."

Dean gets up to take one last look at the sun setting. Once it was down, Dean gets into his car.

"I'm taking a drive. Don't you dare try to follow me. Instead, we'll meet somewhere else." Dean turns on his engine and drives away.

"Imagine my shock when I saw you, you're lucky I almost killed you. I thought you were a shapeshifter." Dean and Sam got into a scuffle in Bobby's living room. Once Sam proved he was the real deal, he and Dean held each other for a long time, neither wanting to let go.

"I didn't make a Deal, I didn't do anything."

"Except freeing Lucifer." Dean couldn't believe Sam would be so stupid. "Do you remember anything about that night?"

"Before I died and went to Hell, the last thing I saw was you. The thing with Jake, I'm afraid it's all a blank."

"Trust me, you don't want to know." Dean had nightmares for months.

"The next thing I knew, I was kneeling at Lucifer's feet." Sam shuddered. "Don't ever wonder about it. No horror could describe what I saw." Sam wished he could forget that.

"And he let you out, just like that."

"It was a few weeks up here. Down there, it was months." Sam didn't want to remember that time.

"You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to."

"I do want to talk about it. I need to get it out of me." Sam sighed. "The things in Hell, what I seen, even demons were begging for mercy. Lucifer, he took me to his chambers. He..." Sam swallowed. "He offered me a Deal. His freedom, he just wanted me to do one thing." Sam teared up. "She was just a kid. Probably in college. She didn't do anything wrong." Sam had to suppress his sob. "She was naked on the Rack."

"Sam. That's okay.'' Dean was holding his shoulder.

"Just one cut. That's all he said. One. Her eyes. They were pleading with me, not to do what he wanted me to do." Sam kneeled over to curb his nausea. "It wasn't a knife he handed me." Sam started crying.

Dean wanted to throw up.

"That wasn't you." Dean wanted to kill Lucifer. As for Michael, Dean would demand answers. He waited till Sam calmed down.

Sam forced himself to breathe normally.

"I woke up in a empty field. It was Ruby that found me."

"Dammit Sammy. Why hide this from me. I saw you die. I burned your body. I wasn't sure how you came back, I didn't care. I was just happy you came back." Dean didn't want to think about Sam's heavy price. "We'll fix everything. You, me, everyone."

"I know." Sam needed a stiff drink. "Do you think they carry alcohol in the house? I didn't check."

"Maybe we should stock up. End of the world. Yellow Eyes stupid game won't compete what's on its way."

"The best and the brightest." Sam finished. The emotional moment was gone. Both were in business mode again.

"Who knows. Who cares? We can stop Him. No matter what happens, we have a future. We can go on, no matter what. Besides, you owe me."

"For what?!"

"Having that skank Ruby in Baby. Ugh. You are cleaning it."

Sam starts laughing. "Whatever Dean." They go back inside.
