Piper woke up when Sam's phone rang. The manor was quiet, her sisters must be out. Looking at the nightstand, the clock says they both slept for over five hours.
"Hey." Sam kisses his girlfriend. "Had a good sleep?"
"The best." She got up and stretched. Leaving Sam to have his phone conversation, she goes downstairs to get a drink of water, and to see if anyone left any messages.
'No messages. Okay.' That was weird. Usually Prue, Phoebe and Paige would leave a message but there was none. Picking up her phone from the counter, she checks her messages.
There was one message, it was a voicemail from her father Victor.
"You have one, new, message." The phone drones. BEEP!
"Piper, I'm at the hospital. Your sisters were supposed to sign Phoebe out but they didn't show up. Can you call me back?"
Piper calls her father frantic.
"Dad? Is everything okay?" God she hoped the demons didn't come back.
"Fine, honey."
"Thank goodness." She had to tell Victor what happened, he won't be happy.
"Phoebe is getting transferred soon. I'm here signing some papers. I will be driving behind the van to make sure Phoebe is safe. Would you like a ride?"
"Yes, but Prue and Paige are not home yet. What do you mean they hadn't showed up?"
"They called me earlier. They were on the road with their friend. Prue was telling me Phoebe is supposed to be transferred today to a place called Sacred Meadows. According to Prue it is a secret place for witches and such to get better. I'm here signing some papers, I have to provide insurance for Phoebe. But your sisters never showed up. Do you know why?"
Piper had no choice but to tell her dad about what happened last night.
"WHAT! Why didn't you call?" Victor sounded furious. "A demon was after my daughter, and no one bothered to call?" Victor was breathing hard. "This is why I didn't want you to be witches."
"Dad." Piper knew her father hated worrying about them.
"Sorry. She is my baby girl. As you two also."
Piper smiled. Despite Victor's flaws, he loved them all unconditionally.
"Phoebe's fine. We managed to get rid of the demon." No sense telling him she wasn't there. She told him a brief summary about what transpired there, leaving the part about Dean and Anna.
"So the magic here can harm witches. Hmm. That is probably why neither showed up. But why did Prue tell me they were meeting her here? Glad that the hospital called me. Phoebe is being let out soon. I'll text you when I am at the manor. I will see you soon. Bye honey."
"Bye Dad, see you soon."
Piper clicks the off button. That was strange. She would have been happy to sign the papers, but that spell is still active. Dean had warned them that they would be harmed if they went close to the magic. Piper after hanging up, spies a note on a end table.
Piper, Sam. Paige, Dean, and I are checking out that hospital. We want to make sure Phoebe will be safe there. Be back soon. Prue. P.S. We don't want to wake you, we'll see you soon.
Piper appreciated her sleep, but they should have woke her up. She would have insisted on a quick Starbucks run. She went to go upstairs to freshen up when she heard Sam's voice.
"Dean! DEAN!" Sam comes running downstairs.
"Sam, Dean isn't here. No one is. My dad is coming to pick me up soon. Phoebe is being transported."
"Dammit." Sam calls Dean cell. No answer. It went straight to voicemail. He texted Dean to call him back, ASAP.
"Sam, Prue left me a note. They said Dean took my sisters to see a place called Sacred Meadows. They went to check that place out."
"Are they back?"
"Not yet."
"Ugh. I just got a call from Gabriel. Remember that doorway Paige found?"
"What about it."
It's a door to another world. According to Gabriel, archangel grace can be used to open the door."
"What do you mean?"
"Someone came through. It was a visitor. He claims he is a prophet from another world; and that he was sent by an archangel."
"Did he say who?"
"No. But he did give us his name. His name is Tony Alvarez."
"I have no idea who he is. What's a prophet?"
"According to Gabriel, a prophet is someone that can speak the Word of God. A conduit of sorts."
"Hmmm. Does it have to do anything with the Tablets?"
"Could be. But, how does it know that? And who sent him. According to Gabriel he refuses to talk to anyone without the Tablets. He mentioned he seen the Angel Tablet in his world."
"Does he have it on him?"
"No. We have to assume it was taken away before he crossed over."
"Hmmm. What does Gabriel say. Is this Tony with him?"
"No. He freaked when he saw Gabriel. Called him Loki."
"Loki. Wasn't he the guy Gabriel was impersonating?"
"Yes. But Gabriel says Loki is still in hiding."
"Maybe in his world Loki is not."
"Anyway, Tony is in custody by the angels. The angels insist that prophets need to be protected."
"But the Tablets are still missing. What good is a prophet without Tablets."
"I don't know. Other than Gabriel, none of the Archangels want anything to do with him. They are afraid he will freak out. Gabriel is going to pretend to be a Trickster for the time being."
"Smart. But why did Tony crossover? Plus which Archangel sent him? Plus that spell."
"I wish I knew. Maybe his world is in danger. Whoever sent him needs our assistance."
"We'll worry about that later. My dad is coming to pick me up. Phoebe is getting transferred today. Can you come with me?"
"I was going to wait for Dean, but hopefully we run into him at that place Phoebe is getting transferred. Maybe they decided to stay behind."
At that moment they heard a car honk.
"My dad's here. Let's go."
An hour later all three were at Sacred Meadows. Victor felt like he was going to have a heart attack on how much this place cost.
"Per week?" Victor couldn't believe it.
"We're specialized for a reason." Natalie explained.
"My rent in Manhattan wasn't this much." Victor was shaking his head.
"I'm sure Prue will help, and so will I." Quake paid enough, hopefully it would cover it. As for Paige, she'll talk to her. "Our mortgage isn't this much." Piper was looking at per cost. "Why is it so expensive?"
"We want our clients comfortable. Plus we have to privatize ourselves."
Witches, private security, spells. Piper knew how first hand how rare things can be.
"Our taxes alone. California isn't cheap." Natalie explained.
"No it isn't." Piper agreed.
"I can help." Sam offered. He hated to see Piper so stressed.
"Don't worry about it. We dealt with worse." She patted Sam's shoulder. "Save your money for your jobs." She knew Sam and Dean travelled on a strict budget when hunting.
"I have some stocks and bonds." Victor offered.
"I can pick up extra shifts." Piper was a sous chef that worked evenings, but can pick up some day shifts as a hostess. "I can get a second mortgage from the bank or even a loan."
After wondering about a minute, Piper wondered where her siblings were.
"I'm calling Prue. I know Paige can get flaky at times, she always forgets to charge her phone, but Prue always carries a second phone for work."
"This is Dean's, other, other, phone. You know what to do."
BEEP
"Dean, why aren't you answering. Please call me back. It's Sam."
"Prue? I left a message at your work, if you went there, call me."
After an hour, both were wondering what was going on.
"I called Prue, Paige, and several of their friends. There's no answer." She expected Paige to be flaky, but Prue was the responsible one. "Prue's assistant said she never showed up for work, taking a personal day."
"Same with Dean." Sam was getting worried. "Dean takes awhile to get back to me, but if he's on a case, he always lets me or Bobby know what's going on." It was a system most hunters used. If a hunt goes wrong, another hunter had to make sure the job was done. "I already called Bobby, plus some of our contacts, all said they heard nothing from Dean."
Both Sam and Piper were wondering where their siblings were. The receptionist had told them they left a few hours ago. Piper was going to ask Sam to call Dean again, when Phoebe came in. Piper jumped up and hugged her, glad to see she was alright.
Phoebe brightened when she saw Piper and Victor.
"Daddy! Piper! You came to see me! Sam!"
She runs up to all three and gives them a huge hug. Piper was happy and relieved to see she had no injuries. Jo and Dean had told them Alistair was a sick bastard.
"Pheebs. Are you okay?"
"Yea. Jaime, Dean and Anna saved me. Plus Alfie. Is he in Heaven now?
"Yes. His friend Castiel took him home. He said Alfie is in a clinic in Heaven."
"Good. I am glad. That mean doctor and nurses are gone, aren't they."
"Yes. Jade told me she sent them away."
"I know. She told me. She said Dr Meanie is gone too."
"Phoebe, honey. You sure you are alright?" Victor had to ask. He heard the horrible story from Piper and Sam on the drive here.
"Yes Daddy. My friends protected me. On the drive here, I seen horses. Can I go riding?"
"In a minute. Sam, can you take Phoebe for a coffee?"
"Sure. Come on, Phoebe. I'll buy you a pie."
"Yum! Can I have ice cream with it?"
"Yep. You can have TWO."
"Yay! Thanks Sam."
Sam kisses Piper, only a quick peck. Knowing Piper's dad was watching. They go to the cafeteria.
Victor sighs. He was glad Phoebe was safe, but he wondered if she had to be committed for life. He wished that didn't let Penny bully him back then. His daughters wouldn't be witches anymore, but they would have normal lives. Plus their friends, the Winchesters. Ever since Piper had introduced Sam to him, he was secretly glad that Sam was human and not a Whitelighter. But he was dismayed to know he was a wanted criminal plus a hunter.
Flashback
"Sam, take a deep breath." Piper hoped their meeting went better than Leo's. Poor Leo was getting grilled hard by Victor, especially since Piper kept Leo's true identity a secret. "Dad is a really nice guy."
"If he was angry at Leo for being a whitelighter, how would he react to me being a hunter? You did tell him, didn't you?" When Piper looked away, Sam was incredulous. "Seriously?"
"I kept trying to mention it, but it was never the right time." Piper hated to disappoint her dad again. He grudgingly accepted Leo being a whitelighter, but a hunter? She was afraid to disappoint her dad again.
"Does he know hunters exist?"
"I don't know." Piper said honestly. "Mom and Grams never mentioned them, so maybe this is a good time for schooling." Piper hoped their meeting went better. "Don't be nervous honey. Dad will love you."
Sam was incredibly nervous during the dinner. Victor seemed to like Sam the moment they met, especially after he asked Sam about healing.
"Healing? I can make do with a first aid kit and thread." That was a few minutes after Victor rang the doorbell.
"Daddy!" Piper hugs her dad. Usually, she called him Dad, but she needed to soften him first. She smiled at Sam whose legs were twitching in the living room.
"Piper, god I missed you." Victor was always away at work, his job sent him everywhere across the country. "You grown!" He teased.
"Dad that joke gets old every year." Piper opens the door to let him in.
"Not in height, but who you are." He lets Piper go, but takes a good look at her. "I swear you get stronger every time I see you." He looks around. "Where's your sisters?"
"Prue is away in New York, her work always keeps her busy, and Phoebe is on a date, finding her Mr Right."
"That's good." Seeing long legs, he asked Piper in a low tone if that was her new man. "Is that your new friend?'' Victor already didn't trust him, it was bad enough Leo broke his daughter's heart.
"His name is Sam. And before you ask, he's human."
"So was Leo, plus Penny's whitelighter was named Sam." Victor didn't trust Sam already. "Bit of a coincidence, don't you think?"
"Just come inside." Piper knew she should have said something. Oh well, she might as well get over this. "I'm making dinner, it's nothing special." She walks Victor to the living room. When Sam stood up, she had to stifle a giggle seeing Victor's expression.
"You are taller than I expected." Sam was a giant. He shook Sam's hand. "Victor Bennett."
"Sam Winchester." Sam wished he wiped his hand first, he was embarrassed when he saw Victor wiping his hand off on his clothes.
"Winchester. Winchester. Why does that name sound so familiar?"
"Um, I'm gonna check on the roast, you guys talk." Piper rushed out.
Sam cleared his throat.
"I offered my help, but she pretty much banned me from the kitchen." After Sam accidentally dropped Piper's peeled potatoes, Piper pretty much threw him out of the kitchen.
"I know my daughter. She's a perfectionist, especially when it comes to cooking." Victor sits down and gestures Sam to join him. "So Sam, what's your go to for healing?"
Sam was taken aback.
"A doctor. Or a first aid kit."
"What if the injury was more serious, like a fireball." Piper told Victor Sam knew her background her being a witch. "The cut's deep, and its too far to a hospital. How do you treat it."
"Uh, I always keep a first aid kit nearby, I'm very skilled with a needle and thread." Sam wondered where Victor was going with this.
Victor looked pleased with Sam's answer, but he had some more questions.
"What about travelling. You have to be somewhere immediately. Lets say you were fighting a demon, and you heard a call from Piper. What would you do next."
Sam swallowed.
"I would take care of the demon first. I always ignore my phone whenever I hear it. When fighting evil, you have to be on your guard. When I know I'm safe, I check who called."
"A cell huh? Lets cut down to the chase. Are you a whitelighter, or a human."
"A hunter." Poor Sam was sweating more now.
"A hunter huh. Is that another name for a whitelighter?" Before Sam could answer, Piper announced dinner is ready.
"Come and get it!"
Once they sat down, Victor was asking how they met.
"We were just standing around, then Sam came and knocked on my door." Piper remembered seeing Sam for the first time, it was love at first sight. "He was on a case."
"A case huh." Victor stabs another piece off the roast, making Sam and Piper jump. "Is that what you do, hunt witches?"
"Dad!" Piper sounded so embarrassed.
Sam didn't know what to say. He and Dean did hunt witches, but didn't encounter them often.
"Asking questions is part of the job. Piper, mind explaining it better?" Sam saw Victor staring distrustingly at him.
Piper took a long sip of water.
Gulp, gulp.
"Ahem." She wished her sisters were here, Prue knew exactly what to say, and Phoebe was always Victor's little girl. "You ever heard of hunters?"
"Hunters?" Victor looked confused. "Sam mentioned he was one. So do I, but I prefer fishing."
"Not hunters in general. But another kind of kind of hunter. Sam, maybe you should explain."
It was bad enough meeting Jessica's parents, they knew nothing about Sam's true background. But Victor was different. He knew about the supernatural.
"Uh, I assume she told you I fight demons?" Victor asked him about demons earlier.
"Yes, I know. You a witch?"
"I'm psychic." Sam saw Victor relax a bit.
"A psychic huh. My youngest is one. What does that have to with hunting?"
This wasn't going to be easy.
"Sam fights evil." Piper blurts out.
"Fights evil? You're not a whitelighter, I could already tell. You mention using a needle and thread to treat wounds. Were you in the army?" Victor was in Vietnam when he was younger, and was honourably discharged after his service was done. He met his ex-wife Patty before his term ended. He had to learn first aid while out there.
"My dad was a Marine. He taught me everything I know." John Winchester was strict with his boys growing up. Sam had to learn to make do to treat wounds. He forced himself to stop crying after John snapped at him to stop being a baby. Sam was only six. "I'm very precise with my treatments, I rarely get infections."
Victor nodded.
"So you're not a whitelighter, but know about fighting demons. But you are also not a witch. Sam, be honest with me. Why are with my daughter?"
"DAD!" Poor Sam was red.
"Can't blame me for being a overprotective father."
Piper wanted to kick herself. Meeting Leo was bad enough. She had to save Sam. Especially when there wasn't a magical emergency around to clear Sam's name.
Sam's phone rang, interrupting their dinner.
"Will you excuse me?" Sam knew it was rude, but he needed air. Once Sam left, Piper and Victor had a mild argument.
"Dad, was that really necessary?" Sam was rough around the edges, but was very polite.
"You may be a witch, but you can't blame me for worrying." He had to know. "What does Sam do exactly? Does he work?"
"He has a career." Piper said vaguely. She didn't know much about hunting, Sam didn't elaborate much. It was fair, he didn't know much about her witchcraft background. "He gets by." Although she worried about his checkered background with the law. That was another conversation she wasn't looking forward to.
"A career huh. You mentioned he was attending Stanford. Why didn't he finish? He should have graduated by now." Piper mentioned he was attended law school.
"Family emergency." She didn't want to elaborate on Jessica's death, that wasn't her place. "He didn't have much of a choice." When Sam came back, Piper's face fell when Sam announced he had to leave.
"I'm really sorry, I have a case. Another time?" He wanted to kiss Piper, but didn't want to be rude in front of Victor.
"Need some help?" Usually they stuck to their own cases, both didn't want to expose each other to the other side.
"I'll be okay. If I need Dean, he's only a few hours away." LA was far, but they hunted further apart. "I'll make it up, leave me the dishes."
Once Sam left, Piper asked Victor if he wanted dessert.
"I made apple pie. Fresh organic apples. Want a slice?"
Sam was hunting alone when he encountered a ghost.
"Dammit!" He just used up his last rock shell. He had a iron rod, but needed to vanquish this ghost. He already took care of the demon, but this ghost came out of nowhere. "I can't leave her behind." This poor girl was being held hostage by the demon, with his vessel dead, the girl needed medical attention. But then a random ghost showed up, locking up every exit. "I'm gonna need help." Normally, he'll call Dean, but he was too far. And Sam didn't know any hunter in San Francisco. Once he put himself and the girl in a salt circle, he called Piper. Hoped the ghost didn't interrupt cell service.
Piper and her dad were doing dishes, Piper tried telling Victor, it wasn't necessary, he was her guest. Victor shook his head, insisting he help, when the phone rang.
"I'll get that!" Piper was drying. "Hello?"
Victor wasn't paying any attention, but when he heard "demon," and "ghost," he couldn't help but listen.
"The demon got expelled? That's great! And now there's a vengeful spirit? Okay. I'll be there. I know a ghost vanquishing potion. I won't be long. Love you too. Bye." Piper hangs up the phone. "Supernatural emergency. Be right back." She rushes out of the kitchen.
At first Victor didn't think much of it, his daughters fought evil all the time. But when he saw Piper walking back in with the Book of Shadows, he asked if she needed help.
"Making a potion?'' While he was married to his ex-wife Patty, he occasionally helped out. Usually buying rare ingredients whenever he was out on his business trips.
"Do we have any pomegranate seeds?" Piper asks absently. She was making a ghost vanquishing potion. "Don't have its remains, but hopefully this works." She takes out a rare herb and throws it in her pot.
"Do you need help?" Victor never got tired of seeing magic. Although he hated the idea of knowing evil was out there, magic fascinated him.
"I'll be okay." She throws her ingredients in a boiling pot of water.
POOF!
"Done!" After she waited till the water cooled down, she takes out a small bottle and uses a baster to put her potion inside. "Thanks for the help." Just when she was about to leave, Victor asked if she wanted a ride.
"I can drive you."
"That'll be great." She just remembered Sam borrowed her car keys, and her sisters weren't home.
Once they got there, she told Victor she'll be back.
"You sure you don't need me?" He wondered why Sam couldn't vanquish a ghost alone, both Penny and Patricia had no problems doing it. He knew whitelighters weren't in immediate danger.
"Just wait till I get back." She kisses her dad on the cheek.
Victor waited a few minutes, he knew how strong Piper was.
Twenty minutes later, he started getting worried. He called Piper's phone.
NO SIGNAL
"Dammit." He called his daughters. Prue said she was stuck, but she can call Leo. Phoebe never answered.
After another ten minutes passed, he gets out of the car.
He walks inside the old manor, hoping his daughter and boyfriend were okay. When he saw a small bottle on the ground, he started getting worried.
"Piper? Sam?" He called out. As he feared, he didn't hear anything. Dammit. He should have known. Luckily he knew a few tricks thanks to Patty. After returning back to his car, he was carrying a tire iron when he got back in. He'll find his daughter and keep her safe.
"How did this ghost jump me?!" Piper felt foolish. She had her freezing power, but the ghost was completely immune. He managed to possess her and lock her inside a room with Sam and a girl.
"Vengeful spirits are strong. But I never heard of one that was immune to a witch's powers."
"Unless the ghost was a good witch in its past life, or a very powerful ghost." Piper was afraid of this. "Whoever that demon was probably wanted its powers." She was inside the salt circle, although she didn't understand why it didn't try killing her instead. "Is she okay?" The young teenager was unconscious in Sam's arms.
"So far." Sam was watching over her. "She seems fine, but I don't understand why that ghost isn't doing anything." It didn't seem to be evil.
"Unless there is another ghost." Crap. "Dad is out there." She was about to get out of the circle, till Sam grabs her.
"Don't."
"Why not? I know him, ever since he got back, dad is trying to make up for lost time. He'll come looking for me."
"Then he could call your sisters. Or your whitelighter."
"Prue is in New York, Phoebe is on a date, and I know she won't turn on her cell, and Paige, well, she doesn't trust us fully yet." Her half sister was still figuring things out. "As for Leo, he is insanely busy these days. He didn't even send a new whitelighter to us yet." She listened hard. "You know what this is?" That phone call, Sam didn't elaborate what it was about, maybe because Victor was there.
"Dean called me, said Bobby got a call from a old contact of his. Said a witch was murdered by a demon when she wouldn't help him. But when I got here, that wasn't the case." Sam told her that there was actually two witches. Siblings. "One was a borrower witch that got her magic from a Demon Deal, and another was a natural born witch."
"Great. And the girl?"
"She's his great granddaughter."
"Does she have any magical blood?" Sometimes magic skipped a generation. When Sam shook his head, Piper sighed.
"So what does this ghost want with her?" No demon will deal with a ghost.
"To swap. She takes the body, the demon takes the girl's soul."
"Thank god you were here. And the second ghost?"
"I think he's helping us. But." Sam was looking around. "He's using most of his power keeping us inside, but he's getting weak. His sister, her anger and jealousy is making her strong. He can't hold out much longer." Sam thought about it, he did his research. "Only a powerful spell can vanquish her, or burn her bones."
"And my sisters aren't around." Damn. "Where are her bones located?"
"Their parents had them cremated."
"Seriously?"
"Yep." Ghosts who stuck around were very rare when their remains were destroyed. "Her emotions kept her around. Plus technically she could still exist if blood stuck around."
"And her brother?"
"I thought about it and came with a theory. He stuck around to try to save his sister from her emotions."
"But that didn't work."
"She was too far gone. But the love for his family kept his around, he was worried that his sister would seek revenge."
"The only way to kill her is to get rid of the subject of her obsession." No way was she doing it. Not again. She won't have a second suicide.
"And I won't murder a innocent." The girl, the ghost. Sam won't lose both. "There is another way. But she needs to wake up."
"How will that work?"
Victor was holding on tightly to his tire iron. He already slapped the ghost away, she tried possessing him. But he knew it was temporary. She find a way to kill him.
"Piper? Sam?" No answer. What was that? He saw a faint outline of a ghost wearing old fashioned clothes waving at him. "I'll take anything." Maybe it was a trap, maybe it wasn't. Victor follows the ghost.
"What was that?" Sam looks up. He had his tire iron, Piper had her magic.
"Sam? Piper?"
"Dad?"
"Piper?"
"Dad! We're in here!"
"Give me a minute!" Just before Victor could open the door, he got attacked. "Ahhhh!"
"Dad? DAD!" She heard his screams. Before she could run out, Sam grabs her. "Let me go!"
"That could be a trap."
"I don't care!" She lost her father twice, she won't lose him a third time. She uses her power to blow the door open.
Victor stood on the other side, black ooze coming out of his eyes.
"You kill me, you'll kill your father." The ghost was holding the potion. Then to Piper's dismay, smashes it under Victor's foot. "Your powers won't work on me." She/Victor look ahead. "And neither will yours." She stared hatefully ahead.
Another ghost materialized. He was staring at her with sadness.
"Even as a mute, you still try hard to convince me to be good." She in Victor's body was staring hatefully at the male ghost. "Mom, Dad. They both loved you more. All because you were a boy. What about me? I was here first. I wasn't a witch, but I worked hard. I worked on the family farm, even when I was sick. I never complained, even if I never got a thank you." The ooze in Victor's eyes started flowing, like a river of tears. "Then you were born. The son they always wanted. Even when you never spoke, they loved you anyways. When you started displaying your powers, Mother and Father never sent you away, instead they hid you." Her 'tears' turned into ice. "Now after all this time, I waited. You will pay for everything you ever did."
Sam and Piper had to cover their ears. Victor's voice, wasn't Victor.
"Hummm. Where. Where am I?" The girl was waking up.
"No don't. Please go back to sleep." Piper begged. What happened next, neither could believe it.
The girl was staring back and forth between the two ghosts.
"Not again." She was shaking her head. "Mom said your feud ended the day you both died. You died trying to outdo one another." She points at Victor. "You always hated your brother. Simply because your parents were assholes." She looked at the ghost. "You died trying to save her soul." She shook her head. "Move on. Save yourselves. That demon, who fed your sister's pain is gone. She looked at Victor. "Cleanse your anger. Let it all go." She looked back at her great grandfather. "Let her rest. She is tired, like you are."
Both ghosts looked at one another.
When a bright light appeared, they heard a thump.
"Dad!" Piper rushes over to her father. "Dad?"
"Mmm? Where. Where am I?"
After Victor woke up, they explained what happened.
After Victor walked in, he was startled to see a ghost. At first, he was going to use a tire iron to disperse it, then he saw the second ghost take on the form of his ex wife. Next thing he knew, he woke up on the floor with both Piper and her boyfriend staring worriedly at him.
"So I got possessed to settle a score?" Both ghosts couldn't possess Sam or Piper. Sam was a hunter, and knew how to defeat a ghost, and Piper was a witch who knew how to keep herself from getting possessed. However, both were in danger thanks to a vengeful spirit. The male ghost stuck around to keep his sister from hurting innocents, and the female ghost stuck around, her anger keeping herself from moving on, possessing anyone to seek revenge on her brother. When Victor walked in, she took over his body to find his descendant to fulfill her revenge.
"You were the neutral option. She knew either of us will protect the other, both knew how to expel ghosts." Sam tells a silent Victor.
"He locked us away to protect his descendant. He knew Sam and I would protect her. He tried to protect you, but knew he was getting weak. When she possessed you, all she wanted was to die. She believed that by killing the girl, she could move on. Luckily the girl was prepared. She came here to end the feud once and for all." The girl was outside having a smoke, she was overwhelmed by the events. "Dad, how do you feel?" Poor Victor looked dazed.
"Sam, what are you?" He wasn't a whitelighter, Victor could see that.
"He's a hunter." Piper holds his hand.
"I fight evil."
"Okay." Victor was tired. First a whitelighter, than a hunter. Whatever that was. "Let's go home, I need a drink."
Eventually, they explained what a hunter really was. How there was thousands, possibly millions of men and women who do what Sam does. As for Sam's checkered past, Victor didn't say anything. He knew Penny had run ins with the law herself when she was younger.
"So witches aren't the only ones to fight evil?" Victor couldn't believe it. "Why isn't the government in on this?" He found out many hunters communicated with one another, even worldwide.
"Same way witches have to keep secret. The public must be kept safe." Strangely enough, Evil agreed with Good to keep things under wraps.
"I understand. I think." Victor was too old to think about it. "Promise me to keep my daughters safe." Victor wasn't happy to hear witches were hunted as well.
"I swear."
Him and his brother fought monsters. Even Satan. Victor wondered if he was jinxed. Plus when Prue had told them God was their enemy, Victor wished he had a boring life, not knowing anything. He needed a stronger drink, preferably a stiff one.
"Dad, how are we going to pay for this?"
"I don't know. It was hard to pay back at the hospital, but there is no way I can cover this place. Even with you three helping."
"I know dad. But Phoebe needs to get better. Maybe I should pray to Michael or Raphael."
"Are they Whitelighters?"
"Archangels."
"Of course they are." Victor really needed that drink now.
At that moment the owner of the place, Natalie came towards them.
"Mr. Bennett, Miss Halliwell, come with me."
A few minutes later both Victor and Piper were pleased to find out that Phoebe's stay was 100% covered. Victor was relieved, but as much as Piper was happy, she wondered who paid for it. She asked Natalie, but Natalie said that was confidential. But reassured them that she was confident Phoebe won't stay long. She assured them that Phoebe was talking more and more and is sure she will be out before Christmas. Piper and Victor squeezed each other hands. The were smiling at each other till Natalie's phone rang. She told them she needed privacy but told them to see Phoebe before they went home.
Sam was in the cafeteria trying to get a hold of Dean but again, there was no answer. He tried calling Prue and Paige, but no luck. Neither one was answering. There was just answering machines in all three. Sam was going to call Castiel, before Piper and Victor came in. Sam stood up. Phoebe finished her dessert and told Sam she wanted to take a nap.
Piper nods at Sam. After talking to Phoebe, both Victor and Piper hugged her goodbye. Victor told both of them he was taking a scenic route home. Driving home Victor and Piper was in a good mood discussing how Phoebe's treatment was being covered and how they cannot wait to celebrate the holidays, till Sam saw a familiar sight. Baby. It was hidden, but Sam seen its familiar trunk.
"Stop the car!"
"Huh?" Victor asked.
"Stop the car! Just stop!"
Victor stopped. Sam and Piper got out. Sam goes to the bushes to see the car, praying Dean was not inside, dead. He moves the branches. Empty. No one was inside the front or the backseat. What was going on? The keys were in the ignition. Dean would NEVER leave Baby by itself. He loved the car as much as Sam. While Sam moved all the bushes out of the way, Piper saw pieces of plastic. Her heart filling with dread, she looked around the area. There was remnants of smartphones. She recognized the covers. These were her sister's phones. Smashed. There was also a third phone. When she asked Sam what model Dean was carrying, Piper and Sam realized Dean was gone, along with Paige and Prue.
