"Pardonnez-moi madame." The man taps Jenna on the shoulder. "Vous avez un message."
"Merci." She gets up to check her message. She smiled.
She used a payphone to call Dean. Unfortunately there was no answer. Dean told her what was going on, him and Sam, they were "normal." Whatever that meant. She seen the YouShare rising page. Piper and Prue were fighting in the ring. The views were over half a million. Hope they liked fame, they were number two for the last three days. Number one was the Presidential Elections this upcoming winter. Some ex government official was rumoured to be the next President of The United States. Jenna didn't care, all she cared about was her next case. She was just waiting for her friend.
She was supposed to be in Lawrence, but that letter that arrived at her parents, Jenna couldn't help but be excited. She was nominated for best new actress for her role in her short stint in Nouveau Départ. But that isn't the reason she came to France. She could have accepted the award from home. Her friends, Amélie and Corbin wrote to her, telling her about pets going missing. But that didn't concern anyone, except for pet owners. Not until children started disappearing. Thankfully they were all found, however they all said they heard a flute. They asked if she talked to hunter Robert Singer.
Jenna knew very little about Bobby. She met him a few times, he seemed nice. She knew he was the one who helped raise Sam and Dean as his own, always being there whenever they needed him. He was a well respected hunter, his name was known throughout hunter circles around the world, including France. Bobby was fluent in many languages, including Japanese and French. She knew she broke her promise to Dean to stay away from hunting, however, that email she got from Amélie, she booked her ticket and flew to Paris.
She met her friends, Amélie and Corbin at the airport and they stayed at Jenna's old apartment in Paris. Jenna only stayed there for a few days, only to pick up her award for her work. As exciting as she was finally respected as a actress, in Europe no less, she didn't care. She had a new life now.
That is how she ended up in the tiny town of Périgueux.
"You dragged me all the way from America for a haunted house? Really? You guys are hunters." Jenna was exasperated.
"Qui. But that isn't the only reason. Enfants, children are disappearing." Amélie tells her.
"We been trying to get a hold of Bobby Singer. He has experience hunting this Trickster." Corbin adds.
"And you brought me here because..." Jenna began.
"We don't know how to contact Bobby. Or his hunter friends. Since you are married to Dean, we were hoping you can tell Dean to tell Bobby we need help. We been bringing the children home, but we cannot do this forever."
"Like I said over the email, Bobby isn't available. He is training new hunters. Same with Rufus. Sam and Dean are on a active case, and the Charmed Sisters are away." Jenna hoped Phoebe and Paige were alright. Prue and Piper were safe at least. They kicked ass. As for Sam and Dean, they were on their way to Alaska to find out how to get their mojo back.
"That is why we sent for you. You are married to Dean. You must have some knowledge." Corbin was looking with Jenna with hope. Jenna shook her head.
"I never hunted a Trickster before. I have experience with ghosts, sort of. (Thinking of that time in Hollywood when she and Dean first met, and when she got possessed.) But why ask me? You two are way more experienced then I am."
"Pardonne-moi. Consider this your official initiation. My friend, will you help us. There is no one else." Amélie begged. She and Corbin met Jenna in Los Angeles years ago, when they were visiting the city.
It was after Jenna and Dean got engaged, she was at LAX to catch her flight to Paris. She was standing in line at the terminal, when she heard a woman speaking in rapid French to the befuddled ticket agent. Jenna felt sorry for both, she could tell the agent was new, and was overwhelmed with the French tourists who were asking questions about their flight. When the agent shook her head, the young woman teared up. Jenna, who spoke French, walked up to the young tourist and asked what's wrong.
"Non English. Speak very little English." The woman says in broken English.
In French, Jenna started speaking.
"Is anything wrong?"
The woman looked relieved.
"You are American?" Jenna nods. "Your French is good." Jenna smiles.
"Merci. I been studying it for years. Why is everyone standing around?"
The woman started shaking her head.
"We are here for school. Some of us anyways. My boyfriend, he translates for us, he was supposed to be here, but he didn't show up yet. We won't leave without him, and are trying to get a later flight."
"What's his name?"
"Corbin."
"Okay. Call him."
"He is not answering. I called many times."
"Try again."
The woman tears up.
"No answer."
"Hmm. Where were you staying?"
Jenna was confused when the woman looks around. She mumbled something under her breath.
"What? I didn't hear you."
"It is nothing. I won't leave without Corbin."
Jenna asked for his number. The phone rang a few times, finally a guy answered.
"Bonjour."
"Hi? Is this Corbin?" Jenna asked in English.
"Qui. How many I help you?"
"Your friends are waiting at the airport."
"Oh shit! I forgot! Did the plane leave?'
"No." The woman grabs the phone from Jenna and starts arguing with the other end. Jenna usually wouldn't eavesdrop, but what she said made Jenna look up.
"The hunt is done! We eliminated the ghost. Bobby Singer confirmed it. Come here now! The plane will be leaving in half an hour!" She angrily hung up.
"Excuse me, pardonne-moi. I couldn't help but overhear. I heard something about hunting."
The woman shook her head.
"We were talking about hunting animals." She said in a nervous tone.
Jenna took out her phone and showed her a picture of herself in a bathing suit. Jenna never uploaded anything with herself showing too much skin, but hearing the name Bobby Singer made her pause. She just hoped she thought showing herself to a total stranger would make her open up. The girl looked confused, but when she noticed a tattoo on Jenna's back, she looked at Jenna with a unreadable expression.
"I hunt too. But I only got possessed once. However, I helped salt and burn with some new friends." Jenna then showed her a picture of Dean, Sam and Bobby at the Singer AutoYard. "This is my boyfriend Dean, and his brother Sam, and their adoptive father Bobby Singer, he is well known in his circles for saying the word idjit." The girl smiles.
"You are a hunter, yes? Student of Bobby's?"
"I never had a chance to work with Bobby, however, my boyfriend Dean is teaching me everything he knows. I also am friends with the Halliwell Sisters."
The girl lights up.
"Amélie."
"Jenna." They were interrupted by the overhead speaker telling everyone that the flight to Paris was boarding. "Is your friend coming?"
"He better."
That was the day their friendship started. Amelie's friend Corbin managed to make it onboard before they were about to close the plane doors. Once Amélie introduced Corbin, they started talking to each other since all three were seated together. They were careful not to talk about their recent hunts, but they did talk about how they came to France to meet up with Bobby.
"How do you and Bobby know each other?" Jenna asked. Paris was a long trip.
"He saved our lives once when we were children."
Périgueux, France Years Ago
"I hate the French! So rude and ignorant! Just because I burped in public, a woman swore at me, then I get pick pocketed!" Rufus complained. .
Bobby rolled his eyes.
"You did nothing but complain ever since we got off the plane. The woman told you off because you burped directly on her shirt. As for the pickpockets, you insisted on stopping to take a picture of the Eiffel Tower during the busy tourist season. I told you we are on a case."
"Yeah. Yeah. Why are we in France again?"
"John took the boys away. I don't have anything to do, and I got a letter from an old friend. He said his house is haunted by a vengeful spirit."
"Is that right. And here I thought you were were here to see Marguerite." Rufus says in a sarcastic teasing voice. Bobby's face went pink.
"That was a long time ago." It was before Bobby was sent home from the Vietnam War. He was recovering from a small bullet wound when he met a nurse. Usually English speaking health care workers would be assigned to care for the American soldiers, however most were busy to take care of a last minute emergency. Many injured soldiers came in claiming they were attacked by monsters. Bobby, who was recovering in the hospital, assumed they were talking about the enemy. The nurse who was caring for Bobby looked up and gestured to another nurse who just walked in. Bobby wasn't a hunter yet, but he overheard the French nurse talking to her coworker.
"André. Those soldiers, what did they say?" Bobby told no one that he spoke and understood many languages including French. He didn't want to ease drop, but he was bored stiff.
"Their injuries are serious. I thought it was a vampire, but there was no puncture marks. It's nothing like I ever seen."
"Will they survive?"
"I don't know." André sighs. "Here I thought I wouldn't hunt."
Both must have noticed Bobby listening, they left the room. Vampires? At the time Bobby thought they were talking about a group of bored teenagers. But. Injured soldiers who were attacked and nearly killed? As curious as Bobby was, he stayed out of it. Unfortunately, what ever came for the American soldiers came to Bobby's medical tent that night.
Bobby was sleeping when he felt danger. Growing up with a abusive father and a rough life growing up, he trained himself to awaken when he felt like something was off. Usually Bobby slept with a gun under his pillow, but all of his weapons were taken away by the medical staff that found him in that field. Bobby was alone, since this tent was was far from the main "hospital," the medical team sent him here to recover before he was sent home to the United States.
Bobby was awake in a instant. He may be recovering, but he knew he wasn't alone.
"Who's there?" He calls out. Bobby strained his ears and eyes for any movement or noise. Other than the outside noises, the tent was quiet. Bobby cursed himself for not having a gun, he was prepared to shoot. He took the only weapon he had, a metal bedpan. He dumped out the contents, not caring about the mess. He held it close to his chest and tried not to breathe hard. Sure enough he saw a movement. Bobby wasn't usually afraid, but he knew a monster when he saw it.
Before Bobby could react, the French nurse who was treating him earlier shot at the shadow. A inhuman screech came from the corner and something ripped open the tent and ran away. Bobby's heart was beating fast. He was surrounded by enemies a few days ago. But none of them scared him like tonight. He looked at the nurse who ran to the hole where that thing ran out.
"Okay. I may be injured, but not stupid. What the hell was that?!" Bobby asked in French. The room was dark, but Bobby could almost see her shock that Bobby spoke French.
"You will never believe me." The nurse answers back.
"Try me."
The nurse sighs.
"It is called Tianchi. It attacks victims, especially men when they are alone."
"Tianchi? That thing is far from its native home." Bobby studied in China one year on a school trip once.
"Yes, but it travels on occasion. It usually goes after young men in Asia but it came here to take advantage of the War. It isn't just American soldiers being attacked. It went after the enemy as well."
Bobby was fascinated. The boys and John think it was Rufus that thought him about the supernatural, but it was this incident that sparked Bobby's interest. The nurse, who introduced herself as Marguerite asked Bobby if he could keep a secret. Bobby agreed, he remarked no one would believe him anyways.
"Is that why you are here, instead of your home country?" Bobby asked.
"Non. I needed experience. Plus I wanted to improve my English. I applied for work experience, so they sent me here. My cousin André, he is the hunter. He came here with me to keep an eye on things. Thank goodness." Marguerite says with a relieved sigh. "I hunt, but not full time."
"Excuse me, hunt?"
"Hunting monsters. My family been hunting since the French Revolution. Sounds crazy, but someone has to do it. Even me." Marguerite tells a fascinated Bobby. Just then André came in.
"The monster was just spotted. It is trapped." André then notices Bobby. Marguerite speaks up.
"It's okay, he knows."
"Fine." André didn't care. "It cannot move with being spotted. Another hunter is coming with me to hunt it. An American named Rufus."
Rufus? Bobby met him once. He and Bobby met while they worked at the mess hall as cooks. The army rotated the soldiers for different jobs everyday. They didn't get along, Bobby thought Rufus was lazy for always using his Jewish background to get out of hard work, like using the Sabbath to get out of work, especially cleaning. After the soldiers were done eating, Rufus told Bobby he was too uptight and bossy, and Bobby firing back Rufus was lazy and was constantly kept reminding to get back to work.
"Is he a good hunter?" Marguerite asked.
"That is what I'm going to find out. Can you stay and keep an eye on things?"
"Qui. Be careful."
"Merci." Once André left, Marguerite told Bobby she needed to get back to her duties and for him to go back to sleep.
"What if that thing comes back?" Bobby was afraid for the first time in years. The only other time he was truly afraid was when his father came home drunk and beat Bobby's mom on a regular basis, then when he was done, he beat Bobby as well.
"It won't strike twice. Not when it is surrounded."
"Will bullets work?"
"Unfortunately no. It is a water monster, it can only die if it is electrocuted. However, bullets can slow it down. Here." She hands Bobby a gun. "I doubt it will come back, but here is a gun to keep you safe. Get some sleep."
Bobby was too afraid to to back to sleep. The story she told sounded unbelievable, but Bobby saw things that gave him an open mind. He laid down to relax. He was about to doze off when he felt a presence. He immediately sat up and pointed a gun directly in another soldier's face.
"Watch were you pointing that thing!" A rude, but familiar voice whispered loudly.
"Rufus? What are you doing here?" He still held up his gun. He knew little about the Tianchi, but local legends say it can mimic humans before it fed.
"I'm not that thing, if you are asking. Besides, that gun won't kill it."
"I thought you are with André?"
Rufus blew a raspberry.
"He couldn't hunt if his life depended on it. His cousin, on the other hand, she is a natural. I ditched him in the woods. Don't worry he is fine. He is with a team of soldiers. The Tianchi won't attack with a large group of people, especially with guns."
They were interrupted by sounds outside. Rufus held a finger over his mouth. Bobby noticed he was carrying jumper cables.
"I'm going to lure it outside. Once it gets close, I'm going to get it to the generator outside and once it's close, I will fry that bastard."
"You need help?"
A few moments later, both men were outside waiting for the creature.
Bobby was exhausted. They been sitting outside waiting for over two hours.
"How long do we have to wait?" Bobby's bed was hard as a rock, but now it could be as luxurious as the Queen's bed.
"The hell should I know? This thing isn't exactly predictable." Rufus already had his cables hooked up, he already tested it. "Just shut up and wait."
Bobby was about to say something sarcastic, but a noise made both men shut up. They were in a jungle, however whatever was in those trees could be anything. Rufus got ready.
Bobby had his gun held up, he wasn't sure what was in that forest. But when he saw Marguerite, he relaxed. He lowered his gun.
"Marguerite. What are you doing out here?" The medical tents were far from here. Rufus held up his cables.
"That's not Marguerite. Stay back Bobby."
"What are you two doing out here? It's late. Especially you Robert. Get back to bed. Now."
Bobby wanted nothing more, but he realized something. "Marguerite" spoke perfect English. The real Marguerite said she came here to perfect her English, since French was her first language, he immediately backs away. The monster smirks.
"Darn. I was so close. I should have studied French instead of Russian." It smiled at Rufus. "I disabled the power, so those wires are worthless. I'm gonna eat good tonight." The Tianchi shows its true form. Before Rufus and Bobby could do anything, Marguerite shot the thing in the leg.
Rufus immediately runs to his backup, a car battery. Before the monster could run, Bobby grabbed the creature and waited for Rufus to make his move. A few minutes later, the fried dead body was smoking. All three were breathing hard. Now that the adrenaline was down, Bobby started asking questions.
"What the hell?!"
"Welcome to the weird." Bobby and Rufus became life long friends after that. It was also the night Marguerite and Bobby had a short but passionate affair spanning many years till they met their significant others and broke it off. It was after Karen, Bobby's wife was killed by accident when she was possessed by a demon, and Marguerite's husband died that Marguerite wrote to Bobby and Rufus about her haunted house.
"That was years ago. It's over now."
"Bull. Both of yous are single now. Since she practically begged you to come, she knows about your day job.'' Rufus tells a blushing Bobby.
"This isn't Grand Rapids. (Thinking of those soul eaters that Rufus and Bobby hunted in Tennessee and Michigan. Rufus hated losing, especially since it cost him his favourite liquor, Johnny Blue). Besides, we owe her."
"Well, since things are quiet for the moment, after this we take a vacation. I hate France, however I do want to check out The Louvre. There are many rare works I want to check out." Rufus already had his camera ready. "Let's rent a car and head south."
Present Day
"So what happened back then?" Jenna was filled with curiosity.
"My brother and I were just children when the haunting started. But that wasn't the only issue. A man was seen playing a flute at night. Many children left their beds in the middle of the night entranced by the flute's music."
"Like that fable." Thinking about the Pied Piper.
"Qui. But that wasn't a fable, it was real. The stories say the town hired the Piper to get rid of rodents, however, it was a angel that sent the rodents to punish the town for blasphemy. The Piper was a Trickster who took advantage of the crisis in that town to kidnap the town's children." Amélie tells Jenna.
"So what does it have to do with the haunted house?"
"This Trickster isn't working alone. It works side by side with the spirit inside." Corbin says in a dark voice.
"Why?"
"I don't know. If you are familiar with history, children disappeared around Europe even before the Plague. No one cared, that was the norm back then. Then it stopped."
Past Events
"So this isn't just a spirit, there is also a Trickster involved." Bobby was afraid for Marguerite, both her daughter and son were in comas, including her son's best friend who slept over.
"We know how to stop a soul eater, but a Trickster, easily done." Rufus already had his stake. "One dead Trickster coming right up."
"I don't know Rufus. Hunters hunted this Trickster before, it always gave them the slip. The question is why that Trickster is working with the soul eater."
"Who gives a damn. Lets go inside."
Jenna and her two friends walk in. The house was abandoned, it had graffiti and holes everywhere. Both Amelié and Corbin look around in disappointment.
"My maman will be so heartbroken. She was forced to run when the soul eater was trapped." Amelié says in a wistful tone.
"The vandalism is old. See the dust and cobwebs? Even squatters didn't want to stay." Corbin looks around. "Zut."
"What is it?" Jenna heard Corbin swearing from the other room. Both her and Amelié came to the living room.
"The sigil Bobby and Rufus made. It is gone."
Past Events
"My daughter, Amelié heard footsteps. But I dismissed it. My son, he and my nephew both liked to play pranks on Amelié. So I dismissed it." Marguerite tells both in French. She looks down at her tea cup. "Then all three told me about a flute."
"A flute? Here?" Rufus says in English. Bobby gave him a dirty look.
"You are far from the main roads. There is nothing around for miles. Why a flute?" Bobby knew Trickers habits, they loved punishing the high and mighty, especially those who were conceited and tormented others for their own benefit.
"There is legends in Europe about a flute player. You may have heard of him."
"The Pied Piper. He was real?" Rufus said in disbelief.
"Qui. Le joueur de flûte de Hamelin. However, he didn't work to eliminate rats. He kidnapped small children. My family has been hunting him for years. Same with many hunters including the Grimm brothers. He is slippery though. The children were all found, however they all were in comas when they were found. But that isn't the only issue. They were all found in caves, houses and tunnels. Every location heavy with evil." Marguerite shakes her head and tears up. "My children and Corbin won't wake up. I am a hunter, but am a mother first. I can't do this alone."
Present Day
Jenna was using a EMF reader Dean gave her. She just hoped Dean didn't mind her hunting, she was getting better though. Just a few days ago her and her two friends eliminated a nest of Lamias. It was a close call, good thing Corbin's ex roommate was Greek and told him how to kill one. She heard Amelié's shouts.
"I found something! Se presser! Hurry!" Both Corbin and Jenna ran in to a small room.
She was staring at graffiti.
"What are we looking at?" Corbin asks. Jenna was asking the same thing. Amelié was pointing to a red symbol underneath the graffiti.
"I seen that before. My papa, rest his soul showed me when I was a young girl. He said a man named Walter Winchester was the one that found out how to kill one. However, he never shared it. It was another hunter that found out how to trap one." She opened up her phone. The symbol was identical to the one on the wall.
"Winchester? He must have been a Men of Letters member." Dean never mentioned it, however in that universe she went to, that world's Sam and Dean paternal side were members of that organization.
"Did Dean ever show you how to kill it permanently?" Amelié asked. She still had nightmares about that place she went to. Her brother and Corbin woke up screaming for months. They said it wasn't alone, it was working for another being. The people on that plane, they were dying. The adults were the first to go, the soul eater wanted them, but the children. The soul eater avoided them. Why Amelié didn't know. She hoped Bobby Singer or Dean Winchester could come, but hopefully his wife could help them.
"He never did. But." She pulls out her phone to make a call. "...Can you send me a pic? Thanks Piper." A few minutes later hangs up and shows them a near identical sigil. "The Halliwell's mother Patty hunted one when she was younger along with a few witches in the San Francisco area in the late 60s. It needs more than one hunter to kill it. Meaning two people have to stay behind. One to keep an eye on the Trickster, another to paint this sigil with fresh human blood straight from the hand, and the third person to go in a deep sleep by the soul eater."
"Why?" Amelié asked.
"So the person inside can paint inside. Clever. So who stays behind and who goes in?"
"You two know the area better than me. I never hunted a Trickster before." Jenna sighs. She wished Dean was here.
Past Events
"Okay you go in and trap this thing. I'll stay out here." Rufus had his jar full of blood.
"Why so I have to go inside?" Bobby was incredulous.
"I speak French better than you. Besides, you are better with kids than I am." Other than his daughter, Rufus hated kids.
"And the Trickster?"
"I will be hunting it. It's part of my family's legacy." Bobby wanted to argue, but knew how stubborn Marguerite was. But he couldn't blame her.
"Fine." Then he remembered the case his boys were on. He told them to stay away, but he knew those two. Especially John. "Balls. Marguerite can I make a call? It's long distance, but I have a long distance card."
Present Day
"If the sigil is here, why were you swearing in another room?" Amelié asks her boyfriend.
"That sigil was to keep the Trickster away. Damn! We have to keep extra vigilant. You bring salt?"
"Of course."
"Oui."
"Good. Jenna, you will be vulnerable when you are inside, however, when you are dreaming, don't be fooled by the illusions inside. Especially the music. Don't pay any attention to it. The Trickster will try anything to stop you. Ready?"
"No." Shit. This will be tricky. She remembered Dean's words, that the Trickster can be stopped by a stake. They can read minds, so whatever Jenna sees will try to fool her. But can she kill a Trickster in a dream?
Past Events
Rufus starts painting the sigil for the soul eater. As for the Trickster, Marguerite was holding a wooden stake. Bobby was holding a shotgun full of rock salt, even though he doubted it could hurt it. All three stopped what they were doing when they heard heavy footsteps. The soul eater was here. No flute music was heard, but all three remained vigilant. Bobby nodded to the two hunters. He left the room.
Present Day
All three heard the heavy footsteps. But they also heard music. It was faint, but it was coming closer. Jenna had her weapons ready, she just hoped it was enough. Especially in a dream. All three left the room just as the other two split up to paint their sigils. One to kill the soul eater, the other to keep the Trickster away.
Both Timelines
Bobby was holding his gun as he went to the basement/Jenna opens the door and goes downstairs. Both were terrified, especially when the lights went out. Jenna felt cold air, Bobby heard heavy footsteps. But he heard music. Once they get downstairs, both looked around in apprehension. Jenna was terrified. This was her first full solo hunt, even with her two friends in the house, she would be alone. They both stop in their tracks and were immediately thrown on their stomachs. Neither had time to scream, both were dragged away by an unknown force.
Jenna woke up in a dark room. Ughhh. Where was she? When she got up she looked around. It was the basement, however it was clean. The basement in the real world was heavily trashed and vandalized. Great.
Bobby knew he was dreaming. Especially seeing his surrogate sons dead on the floor, both killed by one another. He closed his eyes. Both boys were gone.
"Time to hunt a ghost."
Jenna teared up seeing her two friends dead in the living room. Corbin and Amelié were laying there, their blood pooling between them.
"Just a dream." She opened her eyes after a long blink. Both were gone. She went to the small room first. The Trickster will be distracted by two hunters, but the soul eater will want Jenna.
Bobby was talking to a little girl.
"Are you trapped too?" Eight year old Amelié asked. "Can you save my brother and Corbin? They play tricks, but my mom would want them awake."
Jenna heard music. Immediately she starts humming a song Dean likes. She screamed when a hand grabbed her.
"No, I am here to save you. My name is Bobby Singer. I'm a friend of your mom's." He kneeled down to Amelié's height.
Amelié nods. She points behind her. There was a couple standing behind Bobby, along with countless children dressed from different timelines.
"These two" she points at a empty space "They are the only adults left. They will disappear first. Soon you will too."
"I don't see anyone." Bobby looked around. The husks of the children were hallow and sickly looking. The adults were transparent.
"You stay here long enough you will."
Jenna couldn't believe her eyes.
"Dean?" Dean was pointing a shotgun at Jenna's face.
"I know you are the Trickster. Kidnapping small kids for what. A collection? Prepare to die."
Jenna immediately grabs the gun away from Dean. Dean looked startled.
"How did you do that?"
"I learned from the best." She knew this gun won't work, but she had her stake hidden in her jacket.
Corbin finished his sigil first. The music immediately stops. Thank goodness, it was right outside the house. He went to check out Jenna who was unconscious laying in the basement. He carries her upstairs.
"How's the peinture de sang doing." Gesturing to her blood paint to the sigil. He puts Jenna on the floor. She was out cold.
"Almost done."
Jenna didn't trust anything, not even 'Dean'. She never stopped humming. She was halfway done her sigil.
"Why are you humming?" Dean was really confused. That was his favourite Boston song.
"None of your business." No way was Jenna trusting this thing. It can read minds. Dean looked pissed.
"Bitch."
Immediately Jenna says "jerk" back. Both looked at each other. They were interrupted by a boy.
"What are you doing?" He asked pointing to Jenna's paint.
"Helping everyone who is trapped." She ignored 'Dean' who was glaring at her. "What's your name?"
"Mom told me not to talk to strangers."
"Okay. I'm Jenna."
"And I'm Dean."
"Your mom gave solid advice. But we're not strangers anymore."
The boy smiled. .
"Harvey." He looked sad. "Are you trapped too?"
There was countless children around, many who looked empty. Like they ran out of tears. Neither 'Dean' or Jenna saw anything.
"I don't see anyone." 'Dean' reassures the boy. "I'm here to help."
"Bullshit. Kid, don't listen to him. He is a bad guy. Come with me instead." Jenna and 'Dean' glare at one another. The music came on. Jenna immediately starts singing.
''Why are you singing?" 'Dean' demanded.
Harvey looks around.
"That is how the music got us. It will get to you too."
Bobby follows Amelié to the empty rooms. She sees two children.
"Corbin! Antoine!" She runs to another room. Bobby runs after her.
"Kid! Stay close to me!" Before he could follow her, he was surrounded by children. He looked frightened, especially when the music started playing. A ghastly figure grabs Bobby's chest.
Past Events
Bobby was trembling on the floor, he woke up with grayish white eyes.
Rufus was finishing up the sigil when he saw Margarite walk in.
"I finished my side."
"Good. I just need to finish my side." Both stopped when they heard the music. Shit. "I thought you were done!"
"I am!" Margarite looked around.
"Where's Bobby?"
Both looked up seeing Bobby. His fingernails were bleeding.
"I can't let you finish that painting. My master, he demanded more souls."
The Nest
Jenna saw the children, they looked so defeated. She saw 'Dean', he was entranced by the music. Jenna knew he wasn't real, so she slapped him hard across the face. 'Dean' looked surprised.
"Wake up! That is the Trickster playing his flute! Ignore it! Sing Zeppelin, Sesame Street, anything!" Before 'Dean' could react, the soul eater grabbed Jenna.
Rufus was pointing the gun at Bobby. Marguerite was holding on to the stake. The music stopped, but they knew the Trickster was nearby. 'Bobby' was smirking at the two hunters.
"Shoot me, you'll kill your friend. My master, he is far, far from here." It says looking at Marguerite. Rufus cocked his gun. "Come. Join me. You'll be safe in the nest. You can see your children again. You, you will be safe, forever."
"So we can rot out here? No thanks. I kill nightmares, not live them." Rufus points his gun.
Corbin and Amelié were fighting 'Jenna' who was attacking them. Her eyes were white.
"Jenna wake up! Se réveiller! Fight the ghost!" Amelié begs. 'Jenna' just smiles after knocking out Corbin.
"I can keep you both safe from Armageddon. Just come with me. Not even God can reach that place."
The Nest
'Dean' saw the children. He forced himself to not listen to the flute. He knew it wasn't a Trickster doing this. Whatever this creature was, it created these "soul eaters." It couldn't be around all the time, so it created these "things" to get its victims. He looked at "Harvey."
"Harvey is dead. He died in 1979. Bobby couldn't save him in time. What are you." The creature smiled.
Rufus managed to knock out 'Bobby.' The soul eater was blasted out with the rock salt. He finishes the sigil.
Bobby woke up in the nest. Immediately the nest started shaking.
Jenna was lying unconscious on the floor. Amelié knew a few tricks, she learned from Bobby in California. She hands Jenna an angel blade.
"Kill the angel."
"You will be a part of me forever. Not even my Father can destroy this place. Come." Before 'Dean" could say anything, he was blinded by a flash of light. 'Harvey's' grace was snuffed out, his angelic wings burnt on the floor. Jenna was holding on to an angel blade.
"There goes the final Grigori. Phoebe couldn't kill him in time, but now it cannot kill anymore children." She heard Amelié's voice. The Nest existed outside of space and time. The Grigori that was in LA with Phoebe was the one that wanted children. It disguised itself as a Trickster to kidnap children all through the centuries, a storage where he hid and whenever it hunted. Once she saw the sigil glow, she knew she'll be waking up soon. She smiles at 'Dean.'
"You a hunter? You were amazing." 'Dean' was looking at her with admiration. To his surprise Jenna kisses him on the lips. They kissed with a intensity 'Dean' never felt before. He was seeing stars."Time to wake up my sleeping prince. The soul eater will wither and die right away. I'll see you later assbutt." Jenna fades away.
"Assbutt?" Before Dean could think, he saw the various souls disappearing. He and Bobby were staring at each other with shock. Bobby disappeared, so did Dean a second later.
Past Events
Bobby and Rufus were smiling at Marguerite who was hugging her kids. Little Corbin was hugging his parents.
"I cannot believe I have to buy you another Johnny Blue!" Rufus was shaking his head, "Knowing you, you still have the bottle from before!"
"What can I say, I owe my boys a drink."
Present Day
"Will you two be alright?" All three were watching the demolition of the house. Good thing Amelié's brother owned a farm close by. He was happily tearing down that house with his tractor.
"Oui. I mean yes. You stopped a great evil. Corbin and I can handle the Trickster. Without the angel, he is no longer protected. Besides, without magic, he cannot play his flute."
"That's good. I have to go home, I'm sure Dean misses me. I want to talk to him about something." Seeing those children, maybe Dean and her could start a family someday.
A Handful of Years Ago
"I'm telling you Sammy. She was real." Dean still felt that kiss.
"Oh really?" Sam teases. "What about my laptop?"
"You two idjits still arguing? There is a Trickster out there." All three had a hunt before this case, there was a soul eater in a Los Angeles home. All three hunted it, it wasn't like any soul eater Bobby ever saw. That is why he asked Sam and Dean for their help. That place was the biggest nest they ever saw, it was a global case.
Dean knew he had a Trickster to hunt. That janitor was a dead man at that college. But that lady hunter. Dean hoped to meet her someday.
The Hard World
The doctors could only shake their heads. She should be dead. There was very little brain activity. The police finishes their investigation. They thank the security and walk out of the hospital.
There were countless flowers everywhere, Jared, Jensen, Alex, Misha, Eric, Ty, and many others sent the women their get well wishes. Thankfully, they all pooled their money together to pay for their hospital costs, even the CW put up a GoFundMe for their aftercare, including their apartment they gifted to the two women. Holly, Shannon, Rose, Alyssa, Brian, and many others were sending them prayers on their social medias.
