Freedom! Finally!

"Thanks for freeing me." He was there for eons. He rather be in Hell then be in that Place. The woman didn't say a word. "Whatever your Master wants, I'll gladly obey." Eternal sleep his ass. He listened at the story. "Anything." He can continue his work before The End. But not before killing anything unnatural.

'Please. Help. Vanquish me.' Jesse Turner begged. The Call, he couldn't turn it off. He had to die, otherwise he'll go insane. 'Winchesters. Kill me.' Jesse knew a cure, but he refused to kill any innocents. Unlike Kevin Casey, he won't kill anyone. He refused to take that position in Hell. 'Sam, tell your wife to protect him.' Tyler was his boyfriend, he knew he was in danger. 'Please.' He covered his head with a pillow. The middle of nowhere was the only way to hide from Hell, but The Call won't be silenced.

'Tyler. Be careful.' Jesse, he wanted to say goodbye to Tyler, tell him he loved him. He prayed hard for help.

Dean watched helplessly as Sam talked to his wife. Sam, her sisters, her father, they all tried to wake Piper up. Lily, she used her power to keep Piper from moving on. She warned everyone it was like putting a band-aid over a huge gash, but she said it will keep her from dying. Phoebe was sitting by the bed when she gasped.

"Phoebe?" Paige saw Phoebe kneel over. "Phoebe?" She was moaning loudly.

"What? What is she seeing. Is it Piper?" Sam was kneeling next to her. When she floated up, Dean got worried.

"Phoebe! What's wrong?" Her expression. She was in pain.

"Noooooooo." She moaned. Her visions.

Everyone. Everyone the sisters saved, they were going to die. They were screaming for help. When she collapsed on the ground, Sam lifted her up.

"Phoebe? What's wrong?"

Phoebe, she felt their pain. That boy they saved from Rick, Brent, Rick's twelve year old son, from when Phoebe was a teenager, (when her and her two friends who helped Rick escape from prison), he was dead. He died from massive hemorrhaging. Brittany Reynolds, the innocent they saved, she died from old age. And that was only the beginning.

"Pheebs?" Paige saw her face. "Did you see Piper?" She was still in a deep coma.

''No. Worse." She couldn't worry about Piper right now, she was strong. "Our innocents. Everyone we ever saved. They are in danger."

"Which ones?" Dean and his brother saved countless people over the years.

"All of them." Their pain. She heard a cry for help. "Dean, Sam. Your friend, he is in danger."

"I'm not leaving my wife." Sam refused. He didn't care.

"I'll go." Dean didn't want to leave Sam, but he had his duty.

"I'm going with you."

"The hell you will." No way was Jenna coming.

"I may be pregnant, but I'm not helpless."

"NO."

"Fine." Jenna pouts. She saw Phoebe writing down names. "What are you doing?"

"Writing down names of everyone I saw." There was six names."I'm going to the Observatory. Paige, call Billie, send her east to protect Daryl and everyone there." A hunter can help out Billie.

"Can I come?" Jenna saw Dean's sigh of relief.

"Sure honey." Sacred Meadows was the ultimate safe-house, no evil can enter. "Jenna hold on." They warp away.

Jenna watched as Phoebe scryed with her crystal. Every location in the country the crystal landed on, Phoebe wrote down initials.

"I have a few names. I'm gonna take some calls." She left the room.

Jenna walked over to the list. There was initials she recognized, most she didn't. When she saw a location, she quickly rips out the page, being careful to rewrite everything as close as possible to Phoebe's handwriting. She hoped Phoebe didn't have a premonition. Seeing a box with the Charmed One's name, she carefully opens it.

"What's this?" There was a letter along with four bottles.

'To the Charmed Ones' It had the Knox School Crest on the top. 'These potions are for you, it's an empath/psychic blocking potion. It will prevent anyone from reading your mind or tracking you down magically. There are a few here, each for one of you. Kyra'

A magical blocking potion? She looked out the door, that mirror that served as a doorway showed Phoebe talking on a cell.

"Phew. Sorry about that." Jenna was reading the Book of Shadows. "Find anything?"

"Nope. Too bad I can't use this. But I read Daniel's, John's and Sam's journal. They have the same kind of notes in them." Sam used his tablet, he said a notebook was too old-fashioned.

"Yeah, hunters, witches, we work together." She said absently. She was texting furiously on her phone.

"Uh huh. Um, Phoebe? Where is the bathroom?" She was squirming. "The baby wants to pee." Jenna used the bathroom way more often since she got pregnant.

"Oh, the main building is the closest."

"Thanks. Tell Dean I'm staying at the hotel, I need a nap." Dean and Jenna needed their privacy, hunters were staying at the Manor, and Sacred Meadows was full of patients, Paige and a few of the management gave up their beds to accommodate the extra staff needed. Paige and Phoebe were roommates at the moment at Phoebe's condo.

"Okay. I'll let Dean know." She was calling Paige to see how Piper was doing.

Instead of heading to the washrooms, Jenna instead hides around the building. She had to wait till Phoebe left. Once she heard silence, she quickly drinks the potion. One bottle missing would be suspicious, good thing she found another one lying around. She then filled her bottle with the three she saw in that box. A little bit missing from each vial, she hoped no one noticed.

"Sorry baby." She hoped it was safe, but it was addressed to the Halliwell's so it had to be. Kyra was their friend. "Hope you don't mind." She pats her flat belly, already she noticed it was getting swollen. She and Dean were excited. She then checks out the ledger, she came here a few times to visit, and to see what her counterpart was doing. She couldn't help but be envious that her ex proposed to that other Jenna, but she didn't tell Dean that, she knew how jealous he was of her ex. She stood around for a few minutes. "Phew." No side effects, but even if there was, she already had morning sickness. Nothing like Piper's flu, but still bad. She then sneaks around, hoping Phoebe was gone. "Thank god." She must be with her sisters. She prayed for Piper, she was her best friend. They often visited each other, and went out often whenever their husbands were out. She rationalized that Piper was okay, with everyone around, Jenna was confident she'll get out of her coma. But since Phoebe had that vision those innocents, Jenna needed to help. She knew Dean won't let her help, he was very worried about her, especially since Piper got sick. But she was getting restless. "Ah hah!" That's what she was looking for.

"Yeah, I'm heading home. Doctor's orders." She lied. She told Dean she was getting stressed out and went to a women's clinic. "Yeah, she told me I needed to take it easy. I'm flying home, first class. Yeah, be careful honey." She smiled sadly when he told her Sam was extremely depressed. He and Victor were taking turns watching her, Sam refused to leave her side, except to eat or to use the bathroom. The sisters had a job, and Dean had no choice but to take these cases by himself. As for Prue, both sisters were trying to track her down. "Tell 'Sis' I love her." She wipes away her tears. Damn hormones. "Be careful Winchester." She laughs sadly. "That's a first." Dean said he loved her. "Take care. Love you too. Bye." He didn't exactly say I love you, but his undertone said it all when he said to have a safe flight. Phew.

She had to be smart, she knew Dean will double check everything. She took a cab to the airport and bought a ticket, but instead of boarding the plane home, she gave her first class ticket to a single woman, claiming her ex bought her ticket. Then changed his mind and took off to Bermuda with another woman. The woman thanked Jenna, she had a economy seat in a middle row flight. Luckily she had hair similar to Jenna's. She then left the airport and jumped in a cab to a bus station.

"One ticket to Nebraska."

She watched the highway, it was almost hypnotic. It was a long drive, Jenna was bored stiff. She didn't have her phone or anything electronic, she didn't want anyone tracking her down, especially the sisters. Hopefully the potion worked. Getting sleepy, she falls asleep.

"Mom!" Jenna smiles at the voice. The little girl was running to her best friend's arms. Her own child wasn't here, every child, not including this one, was at Knox. She was dead tired from her mission, she was sent to get seeds to grow vegetables. A simple life, but Jenna loved it.

"Jenna! Mind helping me with the baby?"

"Sure Eileen." She signed back. Every citizen was forced to learn sign language, it was a universal language. Demons knew it, but no hunter cared. They weren't the enemy. Eileen cooed at her son, he wasn't deaf, but Eileen knew when he needed her. Eileen and Jenna joked that all mothers knew what their babies wanted. "Want me to heat the bottle?"

She watched as Eileen sang softly to her son. She had no clue who the father was, Eileen never said who. She had an idea who, but she didn't share her thoughts. He was adorable though, he was an easy quiet baby. She sighed.

"Babe?" She felt arms.

"Hey baby." She kisses her husband. "How was the reconnaissance." Dean was sent to spy, their friend Benny was with him.

"We are marching tomorrow. Crowley, Meg, and a few angels will be joining us."

"How many?" The enemy was ruthless, they didn't care who's who. Leviathans, they were friends with no one, not even their own.

"Thirty. Lets hope that Bastard is there." The Leader, everyone feared Him. He killed even the strongest with ease. Stronger than anyone, God Himself was in hiding. "If this fails, go to Kyra's. Don't stay here." Knox was the last strong foothold, everyone was protecting it.

"Be careful." Ever since Sam's death, Dean was mostly fighting. He was never home, he and his family rarely saw him. "You aren't the only one you have to worry about." Their kid always asked why dad was never home.

"I will." Dean rarely bathed anymore, but Jenna didn't mind, water had to be rationed and conserved. They did use basic hygiene, by using sponges and washing their hands. Medicine was scarce. He had this disheveled, but sexy look, men and women lusted over him. "Cas will be here, anything you need, call him."

"Just as long as he doesn't keep asking us to join him for a threesome. I love Cas, but you're mine." Castiel loved his 'parties.'

Dean chuckled.

"Imagine the fangirls and their ships." He laughed at their obsession with 'Destiel.'

"It was my birthday!" That was a memorable night. "Those fangirls would have killed me."

"Well Cas keeps asking for a sequel. I told him I'm a happily married man." He knew what Phoebe did at that universe. "Cas' counterpart, he had that crazy party at Jared's."

"She sure loves telling that story." Every time Phoebe got drunk, she tells stories about her drunken sexapades. Her and those actors with Misha's wife, Jenna never seen or heard anything that graphic. Even Dean was impressed, his honeymoon at Nevada wasn't that crazy. "I miss her."

"Me too." Phoebe died last year, she died saving a bunch of children.

"She and Piper can take of each other now."

"Yeah." Dean teared up. "Sam and her are now reunited." No one knew what really went on on the otherside, if there was a otherside, magic, Heaven and Hell no longer existed. The souls of both disappeared, only a few demons and ghosts existed. Once he packed his bag, he hugs his wife.

Jenna squeezed him back. Everyday was a gamble, no one can predict anything. Even staying in a shelter was no guarantee that anyone was safe.

"I love you."

Dean kisses her head. He never said it, he claimed he said it to Sam, and Sam died immediately after.

"Take care." He waves to Eileen who waved back.

"Come back to me Dean." Jenna knew that was the last time she ever see him. She's been fighting long enough to see death.

It took Jenna two days to get here, according to Phoebe's scrying, this was the location of the innocent. Jenna realized she had no idea how to find him, or her. Why she choose Nebraska, she didn't know. There was several names in Kansas and California. She just hoped she didn't run into their friend Jo and her husband. It was a small town, hopefully she found what she was looking for. But she did steal a rock. According to that girl Billie, it granted temporary magic. Kinda.

According to her notes, all it said it can grant a small wish, nothing extravagant, it wasn't that powerful. But a simple wish from the heart, it can give that person what they want, within reason.

"Here we go." Jenna bought some ingredients from the grocery store. Cayenne pepper, mint leaves, a pinch of saffron. It was all organic, Jenna paid with cash, she took out a loan with fake ids. She swore to pay back that loan, she was honest. Plus she didn't want Dean tracking her down, the sisters knew magic. She wore a disguise and avoided using her cards. It would be too easy to find her. It wasn't a complicated spell, all she needed to do was obtain some rare ingredients. "A six leaf clover? Okay. Hmm. Dust from a horn of a black unicorn, and...dammit." An archangel feather. "Great. Just great." The archangels were dead. Michael was NOT an option. "Now what?" Plan B?

She looked online on social media. Hopefully, this "JT" was still around.

Two hours of failed leads, she finally gets a hit.

"Yeah, it was a few years ago. The Turners. Sweet couple. Couldn't have kids. Since they were older, adoption agencies wouldn't consider them. Then a miracle happened. A baby was found, and they got a son." The woman says over the phone. Jenna was using a payphone, she didn't want to get tracked down from her motel room, luckily this bar was a truck stop. "They were all happy, till the tragedy."

"What tragedy?" The woman sighs.

"This town had some weird events. Kids were hospitalized, men were losing teeth, a teenager scratched herself to death." Jenna grimaced. "Weird things kept happening. The Turners, they kept getting harassed."

"Like what?"

"Nothing typical like death threats or robberies. Whoever was stalking them, they were sick. Eviscerated animals, fires, late night screaming. It was after Jesse disappeared."

"Jesse?"

"Jesse Turner. He was such a sweet boy. He disappeared. Or ran. The police couldn't figure it out. He was just a small child. The Turners, they were devastated. But the harassment didn't stop there. When they saw the remains of aborted fetuses, they packed what they could and left that day."

Jesse Turner. Where did she heard that name before?

"Did they have a relative named Cole?" Cole was Phoebe's ex-husband. He was a cambion, a half-human, half-demon.

"Cole? I don't think so." A coincidence maybe.

"Did they ever track down Jesse?"

"Jesse was only a child. He was featured in many posters across the countries. Milk cartons, missing posters, TV spots. There was sightings, but he was declared legally dead a few years ago. Whoever was behind everything, they most likely kidnapped and killed Jesse. Poor child." She sniffled.

"I'm sorry."

"No, I'm glad someone is reopening this case. Jesse's parents need closure."

"Ma'am, due to the sensitive matter, I would suggest that you never talked to anyone or say anything about talking to me. My article, I don't want anyone publishing it before me."

"Of course. Thank you Miss..."

"Tina."

"Tina, good luck. It's nice that someone still uses a phone. Kids these days, texting emails, it's so cold."

"Yeah." When Jenna thought about it, it was. No wonder her parents talked about the good old days. Even Dean said life was easier back then. He grew up in the 80s and 90s. "Thanks for your time."

After she hung up, she heads to the town library.

Wow, there was a lot of blogs about this town, even ghost hunters had theories about it. Helen, the woman she was talking to, she said things went weird when Jesse was adopted. A fat fairie that took all of a man's teeth? Ew. There was the babysitter. She scratched her nails to her brains. Then a guy was electrocuted to death by a toy buzzer. A child cambion. She read Dean's notes, he didn't write often, but this case was so weird he kept notes.

Jesse, nice kid, but damn! He better stay in hiding, he's just a kid. If he keeps his nose clean when he grows up, but if not, Sam and I have to find a way to destroy a half demon kid. Not looking forward to it, he's Hell's greatest weapon.

"He's just a kid Dean." She muttered. Cole was destroyed by the Power of Three. A weapon existed to destroy demons, but one with a soul. She wasn't sure if it was possible. Jesse was college aged now. Last she heard he was living in Australia with his boyfriend. His boyfriend came here for help and wasn't seen since. She knew Piper's hunter friends were looking for him, but the trial went cold and they simply gave up. She won't give up on Jesse. After she gets up, she walks out.

She wondered if Dean figured it out. Probably not, he would be distracted by Sam and Piper. But she knew it wouldn't last long. Especially since she was pregnant. She wasn't worried about Dean yelling, he was scared of stressing her out. But she swore to make it up.

"Lets see." Anything weird she was checking out. Nothing unusual except a contest for the smallest heifer. She awwwed at the winner. That dairy cow was the size of a large dog. "I want her." She was too cute. She was tempted to buy her, but she knew Dean would be pissed.

It was late at night when she found out her answer.

The next day Jenna was out pretending to be a reporter for a independent blog. The small town was desperate for tourists and most citizens eagerly answered questions.

"So anything unusual?" Jenna was writing things down.

"Not really, it's a small town, but always lovely." The old lady tells her. "Shame, back when I was your age this town was bustling like a small city. Now, it's dying." Dora shook her head. "Except a decade ago." She was mystified at all those articles a few years ago. Then that child disappearing. "You are not going to write about those are you? There is already rumors about this town."

"I promise. I just want to solve this mystery. Bring Jesse's parents the closure they deserve."

"Those poor parents. They wanted nothing more than to be parents. When Jesse came to their lives, they were overjoyed. For eleven years they were happy. Then those events." She shuddered. "But it was the Turners that suffered the most. When Jesse disappeared, they spent months looking for him. But when the harassment started, especially those remains, they left everything and disappeared that very day." She wiped her eyes. "It all went downhill from then on. You see, when they left, the harassment continued. The town's citizens, no one was spared. Now who you see, we are all that's left." When Jenna got dropped off by the bus, she saw many boarded up buildings.

"I'm sorry."

"We may be a farming community, but we do have lovely fields, plus this town is the gateway to other communities. It is a popular stop for truckers, I suggest you hit Sarah's Diner, they have the best bacon cheeseburgers."

"Thanks." Hearing her stomach growling, she heads to the restaurant.

That was delicious. Jenna burped. Whoops.

"Good one." Oh shit.

"Devon? The hell are you doing here?" Her brother was smirking at her. She just realized he saw what she ate.

"Enjoyed that bacon?" So much for her vegetarian diet.

"The baby was craving it." She polishes off her fries. Yum. No wonder Dean ate so much.

"So how's the case." Devon gestured for a cup of coffee.

"It's for my blog." She lied.

"Bullshit. I know about your second job. I can call Dean, he's been calling and asking why you never answer your phone."

"This is a small town, the hell are you doing here?" She refused to answer his question.

"Been catching a ride." He waves at a trucker. "He's cool, I didn't have to pay with my services." He knew about the truckers lifestyle.

''Ewww." She lost her appetite. She heard Devon's chuckle.

"Tell me what's up, and I'll tell Dean nothing." She saw Jenna seething.

"Fine. Not here." She paid for the check. "Get the bacon cheeseburger to go."

"Ok what's up. You on a case?" He and their parents knew about her and Dean's lifestyle as hunters.

"You first. This town is the middle of nowhere. Spill."

"First call Dean, and I'll tell you everything."

Jenna borrowed Devon's phone and told Dean she accidentally forgot her cell at the Observatory. She didn't tell Dean she was on case, she was with her brother on his business trip. She just hoped he didn't see her location.

"Well? How's Dean?"

"Fine." Dean didn't yell, but his tone was cool. He was suspicious on her activities, he knew she took off to hunt occasionally. But hearing she was with Devon, he relaxed a bit. "He's with Cas, they are trying to solve those cases. Bobby, Rufus and many other hunters are on it. Same with Claire and Jack."

"How's Piper." Jenna filled him in.

"Still the same." She teared up. Even without the hormones, hearing about her made her sad. "Sam won't leave her side. Phoebe and Paige are on on track for their innocents. Why her? She's a good woman." She sat down on her bed and cried. "Thanks." When Devon handed her a box of tissues. "I feel so helpless." No one knew what was wrong with Piper. Sam was making some calls, he was trying to track down Rowena and Krissy. "Dean and I are hunters, but this isn't sometimes we can hunt and kill."

"Sorry." He met Piper a few times, when he and Billie were watching a movie, Piper came over to drop off some supplies. She was nice, her, Billie and Devon talked about magic and hunting. Piper found out about Devon's new job, but promised not to tell his sister. Guess now the cat's out of the bag. "How about witchcraft?"

"They have a specialist." Jenna blew her nose. "She's good, but she isn't enough." She turns her head. "Devon? WHY are you here? I know when you are hiding something from me." She stopped crying, but was staring at him with suspicion.

"I'm on assignment." When Murphy called, Devon immediately went on the road.

"What assignment?"

"A case."

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME!"

"Keep it down!" The motel was small.

"You're a hunter? Why didn't you tell me? How long?" She demanded in a quieter voice.

"After you got married." He says in a tiny voice. He flinched as Jenna hit him with a pillow.

"You bastard." She threw the pillow away and hit him with her fists. Devon was flinching, good thing he worked out everyday.

"Calm down!" Her hits were strong, but she was holding back. "I'll tell you everything!"

It was after the wedding. Devon waved goodbye as Jenna and Dean drove off on their honeymoon. Where they were going, he had no idea. Since he was in Vegas, he went to play in the casinos.

"No more bets!" Devon was shaking. He was down to his last hundred bucks, he lost most of it at craps. He wasn't looking forward to asking his parents for money, he was ashamed to say he lost everything, including his car he sold to gamble. When his chips got taken away, Devon wanted to cry. He was so screwed.

"Want a drink? You can use one." A voice says next to him. Devon was ashamed to feel tears. His parents were gonna kill him.

"Sure." Drinks were free, he was gonna to drink himself stupid. He didn't have any money for a cab. He was gonna to ask his new relatives for some cash. Sam was nice, Devon liked him more than Dean. "Thanks." The whiskey was strong, Devon liked it.

"Name's Murphy."

"Devon." He looked over at the guy. "Just to let you know, I don't swing that way. I'm really flattered though."

"I wasn't asking you out. Here's my number." He hands Devon his card. "You need work? I can pay you."

Money? Devon reads the card.

"MH INC? Kinda business is that?" MH? Money handler? "Better be legal."

"Call anytime. I'll be in town for a one more day."

Devon was nursing a hangover when the phone rang.

"Hello?" His mouth was dry like cotton.

"Mr M! I have a job if you're interested!"

"The hell is this?" Devon got up to have some water from the sink. He saw a mini bar, but wasn't stupid enough to open it. The Mirage was expensive.

"We met last night. I have a job offer. Meet me at the restaurant downstairs, I'll buy you lunch. I'll be there in an hour."

Devon just looked at his phone. Free lunch? He went to have a shower.

Devon was looking at the menu when he saw that Murphy guy walking in. Seeing Devon, he comes over.

"Afternoon! Decided what to get?"

Once they ordered, Devon couldn't believe what he was offering him.

"You a hunter? Aren't you worried about getting caught?" This Murphy didn't look like a hunter. He seemed too clean and professional looking. Sam and Dean were hunters, but looked like models. He saw men and women checking them out. But they did had this rough exterior about them. Murphy seemed too slick to be one.

"It's Vegas. No one is surprised by anything." He drinks his water. "Can't be drunk on the job."

"Who are you. No bullshit." Devon demanded.

"Here. But don't say anything." He hands Devon his work ID.

A Government Agent? Crap. He knew hunters used fake IDs, but this was the real thing.

"What do you want with me?" He watched the shows on YouShare, how the government had a specialized network for secret cases. It was the real life version of the 'X-Files.'

"Your new brother in law. He's a hunter. Same with his brother as well as your sister. Your friends, they are witches."

"My sister is a influencer." Devon says coldly. "Dean, Sam, they are just guys. As for Jenna's friends, they are nice girls." He waved to the waitress to cancel his order.

"Wait! Sit down. I been working with the Halliwell sisters! I have proof!" Once Devon saw the pictures, and used VidChat to confirm the sisters knew Murphy, he listened to his offer. "So, wait. You pay me. I won't be in any lists?''

"Promise." Murphy wanted out, he was tired of being a yes man. Plus he knew some of the higher ups worked with demons. "I will be paying out of pocket, I have money saved up." Devon was glad he said that, he didn't want to be tracked down with a government paycheck.

"So what do you want me to do?"

It was a few days later when he found himself at Magic School.

"Where am I?" He saw a woman using magic, she was putting away books with a wave of her hand. When he saw a real life gnome, he stepped back when he snorted at Devon.

"Humans. Why Michael allows mortals to visit is beyond me." He shoved Murphy out of the way.

Murphy smiled at Devon's expression.

"I told you I have a affiliation with the Halliwell Women, plus a former agent is now, I mean was a whitelighter, plus they think I'm a hunter." He whispered. He waves to the librarian. "Miss Donovan! You look more lovely everyday I see you."

Devon rolls her eyes at their flirting. It was all an act, Murphy was a actor after all.

"Are we still with the last names? Call me Amanda." She giggled. She looks at Devon. "Hello. Are you a hunter?"

"A green one. I'm his student."

"You seem familiar." She squinted her eyes, then her face brightened. "Oh! Are you Jenna M, I mean Winchester, she is newly married after all. I am a fan of hers. Her brother?'' When Devon nodded in reluctance, she squealed. "I knew I recognized you. A hunter! Good for you. Benito here, he is a very intelligent man. We been interviewing hunters for our new positions. Knox, they train hunters, why we never did, I don't know."

"Cause Gideon thought they are apes! No argument there!" The gnome shouted.

"Shush!"

"Benito?" He saw Murphy's pink face.

"It's Murphy."

Devon smirked.

"Sorry about that. We have a few candidates. The new classes is starting next year, already we have a long waiting list from potential students. We have two hunters that we're trying to get, a Mr. Turner and Mr. Singer to be our new professors. Too bad the Campbells are dead, we would love to have Samuel and Deanna as teachers." Clearly she didn't know about Samuel being brought back to life; or how he was a murderer. "Anyways, are you two interested? I know your friend is green, but he would be perfect for the elementary class."

"No thanks." Devon had no interest with children, being a teacher would be his biggest nightmare. He had no idea why they were teaching young kids, Jenna told him at Knox they didn't start offering it till junior high. Their most popular teacher was a fairie.

"Well if you change your mind, send your resume to Jophiel. He is in charge of hiring. Anyways, what brings you here?''

"Well as a hunter, I would love to check out your school. I been to Sacred Meadows, my predecessor Kyle Brody was aligned with the Halliwells before his tragic death."

"Kyle Brody." The librarian closed her eyes. "It was a shame. He did so much good for a mortal. But he went to a higher power. But with you here we can discuss what hunters do. Devon."

"Uh, yes?"

"Since you know Dean Winchester, I would love to know the basics about hunting."

Devon didn't know much about hunting, his roommate was one, but he didn't like talking about it. Luckily they were interrupted.

"Amanda!"

"Paige! Good to see you. Your two friends are here for a tour."

Paige looked surprised to see the two men, but when she saw Murphy, her eyes narrowed. Luckily she didn't say a word.

"Agent. Devon, you want to be a hunter?" Paige only met Devon at Dean's wedding once.

"He and Dean want her out of the life, so I'm training to be one. Murphy here, he's showing me the basics." Devon lied. He saw Paige's expression, she looked deep in thought.

"Really. That's good I guess. But hunting is extremely dangerous."

"That's why we want to train the students early. Students at Knox rarely get any fatalities, and we are nothing like Kendriks. Many hunters want to make sure their children are safe. Anyways, you two, ready for the tour? Since the school is empty, it's a perfect time."

"I need to see Nurse Jones." Annie, Jody's adopted daughter quit her job at Sioux Falls and applied here, Magic School needed a school nurse. Annie was the first mortal hire, as a hunter, and a mom, Magic School offered her good money. Her daughter, as well as her husband was here. Little Micaela was still a baby, but Kevin said this school had a nursery. It was perfect for Alex, she could work and spend time with her family. As for Kevin, he was teaching magic, since he was a witch/former Elder. "I want to ask Alex if she has any nurses or health care aides that are familiar with the life."

"Usually the staff is off, but since she is a new hire, she is stocking up on magical supplies. Not all our students are human, human medicine won't work on them. That's why she's taking part time classes as a potion maker. Her husband Kevin is teaching her the basics."

Professor Monkeyshines scoffs as they walk away. He and a few others argued blue in the face about letting humans in, but was quickly overruled.

"Hunters." He liked things the way they are, things were better when Gideon was running things. But he had to admit, Michael was a great leader. Spying a book on the floor, he opens it up to see why the students love reading this crap.

'Cross/Double Cross by the Mullen Brothers'. Already he hated it, students should be studying, not reading fluff.

He only read the first page when he found himself being sucked inside.

Ms Donovan came back because she forgot her briefcase, she wanted to submit her resume for any future positions. She had a full teaching degree, as well as a doctorate, but was a measly librarian. Gideon, the old headmaster, he never considered her for any teaching positions, claiming being a librarian was important. Seeing her briefcase, she was about to get up when she saw a book on the floor.

"Damn gnome." She muttered. He worked hard to ban books he considered 'fluff,' even nursery books were too violent for him. Like Henny Penny. Well, that was true, the three heroes were eaten alive. Based on a true story, the three heroines were devoured by a monster. Miss Donovan wondered what the lesson was, but when she thought about it, don't be a idiot. Mr Monkeyshines said it dealt with death. Guess it was better than Sleeping Beauty and the Little Mermaid. She shuddered at those stories, both endings were really dark. Disney just cleaned it up. When she saw legs, she cautiously walked towards them. "Mitch?" Seeing the professor lying dead on the floor, she gasped.

Paige was talking to Alex when she heard screams.

Devon was sickened by the sight. He knew about the supernatural, but seeing a dead body? Especially one riddled with bullets.

"Who would do this?!" The librarian was crying. Since it was the weekend, the school was empty. Alex, Miss Donovan, Devon and Murphy were staring at the dead body.

"Did he have any enemies?" Paige asked.

"To be honest, he was NOT a popular teacher. Most of the staff and students hated him, myself included. He was a very unpleasant man." The librarian sniffled using a tissue to wipe her eyes.

"This is Magic School, no evil can get in." Paige and the school has the same powerful wardings.

"Based on the wounds, this was no accident."

"You think?" Devon's first day, and already was dealing with crap. He looked at Murphy putting on gloves. "What are you doing?"

"This is a active crime scene. Miss Donovan, Paige, you two. None of you leave." Alex was in disbelief.

"I wasn't here, I was in my office. Besides, I have my daughter waiting for me at home." Magic School had doorways in certain places, where Alex lived, Kevin showed her where it was.

"Sorry, but until I figure out who killed this man, this is a investigation." He took out his phone and started taking pictures. "I need to see everyone's hands."

"Why? None of us are murderers.''

"Then you wouldn't mind." He then uses tissue on everyone's hands. "If there's gun residue, then we know who the killer is."

"And yourself?" Paige still didn't trust him.

"I was in the next room with Devon. Besides, my gloves would show residue."

After Murphy cleared everyone and himself, he gave permission for everyone to go home.

"Since when are you are in charge. You don't work here."

"None of you have police training. I do. Miss, I mean Amanda. Is there any way other humans can get in?" Miss Donovan shook her head.

"Not without strict permission. All mortals have to have a pass." Alex and Murphy had magical tattoos on their bodies, although Murphy's was a special tattoo which had a time limit. It was invisible to most people, except for fellow students and employees. Devon had a temporary one.

"Okay. I need to seal this room, once I'm done, you can call the proper authorities."

"We don't have anything like that!" Paige exclaimed. "As far as I know, no one died in Magic School!"

"That's not true. Almost thirty years ago, we had something nearly identical."

"Why hadn't I heard of it?"

"It was very hush hush." Miss Donovan told Paige. "Gideon didn't want to scare the students."

"Um, sorry to interrupt, but I need to get home. Kevin has to go to work soon." Kevin promised their neighbour to help out at his store for the evening since the neigbour had to see his sick mom at the rest home. Time moved differently at the school, especially since they were in the west coast. Alex lived halfway across the country.

"Oh, you can go. I can't leave anyways, I have to catalog the library today."

"Yeah, and I have a ton of resumes to look at. I need more medical staff. So far the only candidate I have is a sprite."

"A sprite? You mean to tell me fairies are real? Does that mean leprechauns exist too?" Devon couldn't believe it. Knowing monsters, angels and God are real. "Are they evil?"

"Mischievous yes, but not evil. Well, most of them anyways." Paige heard of that Wayne guy from Sam. Dean refused to talk about it. "I'll be at work, if you need anything Amanda is here. See ya." Paige orbs away.

Once she left, Devon looked at Murphy.

"Now what?"

"Well, this isn't what I had in mind. All I wanted was to show you another side most humans never see." He looks at the dead gnome. "My dad used to be a cop. A detective."

"Let me guess, you followed his footsteps." Devon said sarcastically.

"Not exactly. I wanted to know more about the world. I did go to police academy, but I didn't apply to any police department after I graduated. Instead I joined the Air Force. Then after that, I was assigned to my present job."

"The Secret Service?"

"Something like that. To be honest, I want a way out. I'm sick of keeping secrets and working for someone that will happily kill you for screwing up." He kneels down to check out the body. "Hmm. He wasn't murdered here."

"How do you know that?"

"There's no blood splatters. No bullet holes anywhere here, but this place is magical, for all we know this place erased everything." He was looking around the room. "He was moved."

"How can you tell?"

"We would heard the gun shots. I been here a few times, the halls echo." Putting in on new gloves, he picks up a book that was lying next to the gnome. "The Mullen Brothers." He absently flips through the book. "Weird. It's not finished. The streets went quiet after Shorty died. Too quiet."

"Ah, maybe you should close the book." Devon saw white smoke coming out of it.

Before Murphy could say anything, both got sucked inside the book.

Devon and Murphy were staring at each other with disbelief. The streets were driven by old fashioned cars, people were dressed like the old movies Devon's grandparents used to watch. But what wasn't the weird part. Everything was in black and white. Including themselves.

"Is this part of my training? Kinda weird. But I'll take it." Devon was looking around.

"This isn't what I had in mind." What he learned at the academy and at work, he never heard of anyone getting sucked in a book. "Watch out!" He grabbed Devon just as a car drove by, nearly hitting Devon. "Devon, what did Dean tell you anything about hunting anyways?" Once they were on a sidewalk.

Before Devon could answer, two guys wearing suits and hats walk up to them.

"Well well well. Look what we have here." Both turned around at the voices. "Looks like a couple o' newcomers." Two men were standing behind them with a third man standing a few feet away.

"You gotta be kidding me." Murphy said in disbelief.

"Pals of Shorty?" Man on the left asked.

"The gnome?" Devon blurted out loud. "Hey!" When Murphy punched him on the shoulder.

"Shush! So what?" When the men pulled out Tommy guns, both of their eyes went big.

"Looking for the Falcon? Sorry, it belongs to Johnny. Shorty acted like he didn't know nothin', now he's dead." The guy on the right says. "I promise to make it quick."

Murphy pulls out his gun and fires at the two men, the third man was gone. Devon's feet was frozen to the sidewalk, he couldn't believe what he was seeing. When the two men dived out of the way, Murphy pulls Devon away.

''We have to move it! Run!" He ordered. Devon and Murphy ran just as bullets went flying by their heads.

Turning a corner, the screens fades to black with a iris shot in the middle of the screen like the old film noir movies that was popular in the 1930's.

"This is some training." Devon was impressed. "Did they teach you this back at the Secret Service?" Both were changing their clothes, their modern clothes stood out too much. Good thing the shop they broke in was closed. "Jenna and Dean didn't tell me it would be this cool. I thought we'll be hunting monsters, not be in a story." Not bad. Devon was admiring himself. "Sam Spade, Private Eye." As he puts on his hat. "We can do anything we want, none of this is real." Murphy told him about his theory.

"Those bullets were real, don't be dumb." Murphy was kicking himself for being so stupid. "We have to be smart about this." He too was dressed similarly to Devon, except he had a gun holster underneath his jacket with his gun inside. "You ever used a gun?"

"Not since my thirteenth birthday. My uncle took me to a gun range. Do I need one?"

"Eventually. But not just guns, you need the basics. Silver blades, a large knife to cut off heads, holy water, salt, I'll teach you what I know." Murphy was only a beginner, he was training with a seasoned hunter in the service.

"Cool." Devon walked out. "Looking good man. Feel like I'm looking at Bogart." He loved those old movies, his grandma was obsessed with the classics.

"Thanks." Murphy was flattered. He didn't watch television much, he was always a workaholic. Hearing sirens, he hurriedly puts on his coat and hat. "Back window." He wasn't sure if those cops were after them, but he wasn't taking any chances.

They managed to escape just as the two men that shot at them earlier broke in.

"Check the alley, round back. Make sure to pinch 'em, they must be after the Falcon." The leader of the two men ordered.

"Got it Boss."

He looked around. A classic break and enter, clearly they were hoping to blend in and hide. When his partner came back, he said the alley was empty.

"Think they're after the Falcon?"

"Isn't everybody?" He takes out a cigarette. "Gotta get to the Falcon before they do." He lights up the smoke. "Lets move it."

Meanwhile...

Miss Donovan was trying to explain what happened to the two men.

"I don't know. They were doing their investigation, and I went to get a cup of coffee. I was only gone a minute."

"They couldn't have gone that far." Paige only came back because she forgot her cell. Phoebe came along to keep her company, since Piper and Sam were at the Manor enjoying their lives as newlyweds, since they were married before Dean and Jenna. Piper wanted to stay in town for a few more days to spend some time with her sisters before she moved across the country. She already checked the doors and exits, most were locked, with the exceptions of the washrooms. New staff and students needed a special pass to attend Magic School, their IDs embedded on their skin. Because students attended from all around the world, plus nearby dimensions, such as Avalon, every exit lead to a different location even ones entered a few minutes before. Because of this, every new staff and student needed an escort before they got their permanent IDs, to make sure they didn't accidentally walk out to China or the Arctic for example. Guests like Murphy and Devon, they had to have temporary guest passes which were strictly limited and monitored. Graduates were allowed back with special permission from the headmaster.

Phoebe grimaced at the dead gnome. Paige told her about Murphy's investigation, how he trying to figure out how a harmless gnome was shot in bright daylight without anyone knowing.

"Just how?" Phoebe was looking at his body, his lifeless eyes staring forever at the ceiling. Seeing a book laying on the floor, she absentmindedly picked it up when she got a premonition. She saw Murphy and Devon getting sucked in the book in white smoke.

"What. What did you see?" After Phoebe opened her closed eyes.

"They're still here." She looks down at the book's cover. "Talk about wanting to be on the best seller list."

"Huh?"

"They're inside this book." She felt the life inside.

"Not again." Miss Donovan says out loud. Seeing the sisters look up, she sighed. "It was back in the sixties. I wasn't here, but Gideon was. Life back then was chaotic, even for magical beings."

"I remember." Paige was back in the sixties by accident after putting on Grandma Penny's Go Go boots. She met Leo back then who was very flirty with Paige to her disgust. (He and Piper were dating at the time). Other than the hippy clothes and radical sit ins, she was fascinated on how American life was back then. People were protesting everything, even random things with guitars and sit-ins. Nothing like today, with arrests and lootings. After she got back, (plus teasing 'SunGod', Leo's nickname back then), she went and did her research on how life was back then. Most of the protests were about the Vietnam War, students staged walkouts all across the country. "Was it bad here too?"

"See for yourself." She waved her hand to a yearbook and floated it towards her. She then handed it to Paige.

"Is that mom?" Forgetting the book, she and Paige were watching the moving pictures. Patty Halliwell had super long straight hair and was holding a sign that said, 'End The WaR!'

"Never mind that, look at my dad!" Phoebe was laughing. Victor had shoulder length brown hair and was wearing a hippie outfit. Since the yearbooks were magical, the pictures were moving gifs. "I didn't know he was allowed in here."

"He wasn't. That sign your mom was holding, the students were protesting the strict rules about not letting mortals in."

"Mom did that?" She remembered taking her ex, her late boyfriend Kyle Brody here a few years ago. "Why didn't she say anything Pheebs?"

"Don't look at me. Grams said nothing either. Amanda, how long did this protest go on?"

"Till the early seventies. Gideon fought against it for years, till the headmistress at Knox convinced him to relax the rules. Magic School was really strict back then, nothing like Knox which is more lenient."

"Not to mention way more expensive to attend." Phoebe couldn't believe what one year of tuition was. But Knox had things Magic School never had, like training hunters and summoning angels. It was also way harder to get in, only a small amount of applicants were accepted. Plus they offered something Magic School didn't have, like letting in mortals and warlocks as students.

"Headmistress Ann. She was a good woman. Gideon, he had nothing but the deepest respect for her. All the Elders did." She closed her eyes. "May she rest in peace." She placed a hand over her heart. "Paige?"

"Mm?" She was looking at the sit-ins at the park in downtown San Francisco.

"Your biological father was a teacher there." Paige sharply looks up.

"Really?"

Remembering the book, Phoebe interrupted the two women.

"Sorry Paige. We have some innocents to save."

''Oh right.'' She reluctantly closed the yearbook. "Amanda, you were going to tell us something about that book?"

"Yes. Like I was saying, the students were starting to lose focus. So the previous librarian suggested a experimental idea. Putting students in the story."

"You mean putting students inside a book? That sounds dangerous." She read the book about history. So much violence, never minding the dark history of the past. The witch burnings alone. Phoebe forced herself to not think about her own execution in that alternative timeline.

"It wasn't supposed to be. Students found history and reading boring. When we started this program, we were shocked on how successful it became. Students, even former graduates wanted to read the books. We were thrilled. Grades were sky high, our History and English teachers were pleased with their students tests and essays. Heck even the teachers were reading." She bent her fingers.

"That sounds fun." Paige wasn't a fan of books back then. Even now, she preferred television and the Internet.

"It was. The school even offered a writing program. The waiting list was miles long as soon as it was announced. You see, students can create their own worlds with a touch of a typewriter."

"Imagine the fanfiction." Paige was jealous. She loved fanfiction as a teen. The fanfics of Buffy and the vampire novels of Anne Rice. "I can write my take on anything, and live through it!" She was fantasizing on her story. 'Lestat, why live in eternal despair, when instead we could have our own country.' She sighed. Already was planning on writing her own fic.

"I can imagine the stories they wrote." Phoebe dreamed about meeting Mr Right and living happily ever after. She was already imagining Billy (her dream man from her favorite movie) and her running away together.

"It was strictly monitored. Anyways, in 1984 it came to erupt end."

"The Mullen Brothers." Phoebe looked at the book. "What happened?"

"It was the end of the year. For the final project that counted for half their grade, the students were required to write a novel. They can either pair up or write solo. Unlike reading, the teacher that was responsible for grading went in the book to see how imaginative the students were. A entire world wasn't enough, it had to be more. Character development, plot devices, how the story was going, and how it ends. Murder mysteries were very popular. A lot of students loved killing themselves off, and having their characters solve the mystery. Then Dan Mullen was found dead in the library riddled with bullets." Miss Donovan was looking sadly at the book Phoebe was holding. "The boys were working in the library together, they were really behind on their project due to their slacking off to play videogames for most of the semester. It was late at night, the library was open late to students, most went home or went to their dorms before it got really dark. No one ever died. Not until that night. It was Gideon that found Dan's dead body. He was murdered. Of course he knew it wasn't demons, evil cannot enter these halls. At the time, he didn't know what was going on."

"What about his brother?" Phoebe and Paige were listening in rapt attention. This was fascinating.

"I was just getting to that." Remember this happened before my time. When Gideon found Dan, he was puzzled on what happened. He knew he was on thin ice with the Elders, they didn't approve of the changes Gideon was making. They always looked down at Knox's curriculum over the years and wanted Gideon to go back to the old ways. Anyways, Gideon knew that he was screwed that a student died on his watch, in his school. Since there was no way that law enforcement can investigate the murder, he and the few facility did their own investigation. After they were done, and after they took Dan's body away, they concluded it was his younger brother Eddie that did it."

"What? How?" Paige couldn't believe it.

"Sounds pretty sloppy to me." Phoebe never liked Gideon or the Elders. "Is there any way that the book murdered Dan?"

"No. No student had that power. Magic School has this safety policy in place, all our equipment here had safety locks and seals on it. After Dan died, the program shut down. Eddie Mullen, he was the prime suspect in his murder, he was the last person seen with Dan. According to a janitor that was working late that night, he heard them arguing the night before. He said Dan told Eddie to stop, and excuse my language, being a pussy. Eddie told him to go fuck himself, and stormed off. Then Dan was found dead an hour later."

"Did anyone hear or see the gunshots?" Phoebe asked. Miss Donovan shook her head.

"No, times back then were different. No students were checked for weapons. Even now there's no point. Magic, it can just as deadly." Paige heard of those gifted kids, some had powers that can stop a person's heart for example. Sadly, those kids never had a chance. They would have been admitted either at Knox or Magic School when they were young. According to Sam and Dean, those adult kids were either murdered, committed suicide, or killed in Azazel's Demon Camps. "Eddie, he had the power to recall past events, even if he never witnessed it. Too bad he was so shy, he could have been a great tutor."

"Could he create reality?" Paige, if Eddie was still alive, she would suggest he check in as a patient. Plus to keep him away from Azazel.

"I don't know. Gideon never mentioned it. They shut the program down, and disabled the magic. Students went back to the old ways. Shame, it benefited a lust for learning and creativity. If only we had proper way to investigate things like this. Plus prevent tragedies from happening like the event in 1984 again. Anyways, I better get back to work, I need to finish my cataloging. The new classes are starting next year, I need to get the monster encyclopedia ready for the Hunting classes." Just as she was about to leave, Phoebe stopped her. "Before you go, can you hand us the Mullen files?"

"Sure. It take me awhile, that is another task we are behind in. We have to start using computers, paper files take so much room. Heck, we have files dating way back during the Hellenic Period. Our most famous student, Julius Caesar has the fattest folder."

"Did she say Julius Caesar?" Phoebe was in awe. "I thought he wasn't a witch."

"Forget about him, we have our innocents to save." Paige hoped they were okay.

Inside the Book...

Devon and Murphy were standing outside a detective agency. The door had lettering that said "Mullen Bros. Detective Agency."

"Dicks. What's so funny?" When Murphy chuckled.

"You are really a fan aren't you." So far Devon talked about his theories about what everyone around them was whispering about. How every gang in the city was after this 'Falcon.' He admitted he was a huge fan of Sherlock Holmes, Sam Spade and Philip Marlowe. When Murphy asked why he didn't join the police academy, Devon said cops were limited on what they can do. Being a hunter, he could help people, but he was reluctant to be one. It was basically the same thing. Kill the evil, then go home and go on about your day. Devon said he wanted to do more, solve how these things started and to solve them. "You'll be a great hunter." He never met someone that was so passionate about doing good.

"I guess. Guess we can start here." He remembered the name of the authors. Opening the door he apologized for interrupting the two men that was arguing. "Oh! Our apologies. We'll come back."

"Look who it is, it's the newcomers!" The guy sitting on the chair says as he stares at them with coolness. "You know them Eddie?"

When Eddie turned around, both Devon and Murphy were startled to see a kid.

"You're Eddie?" Devon couldn't believe it.

"What's it to you?" He tried to sound brave, but both could hear the fear in his voice. "Never saw you before in my life."

"You a hunter?" Just how many people is Murphy recruiting?

"A hunter? Kid, the only thing worth hunting around here is pigeons and rats." He gets up and lights up a smoke. When Devon and Murphy saw his face, they recognized him as the guy standing behind those two goons that shot at them earlier. "Name's Johnny. Johnny the Gent. You made a acquaintance with two of my boys earlier. I would have introduced myself, but I had a business meeting to head to."

"Like shooting us?" Murphy snapped.

"Simple misunderstanding. Everyone's on edge about the Falcon."

"Falcon? Like the Maltese?" Devon couldn't believe it. He must have watched that movie dozens of times.

"Maltese was a fake. It was proven. The Burmese one on the other hand. It's real. Everyone's been after it for years." Eddie was smirking, but both Devon and Murphy could see it was all an act. Eddie was terrified.

"The Burmese? Kid, you been fooled. There's no such thing." Devon liked this story, he wondered how it'll end.

"Until we know its existence, I'll be around." Johnny puts out his smoke. "You two aren't hiding something. Or lying. I hate liars."

"We have business to discuss with Eddie here." Murphy gave Eddie a look.

"Come back tomorrow. I'll have my secretary pencil in a appointment." Eddie bluffed.

"I'm leaving anyways." Johnny takes out a cigar from his coat. "You take care kid. Nice meeting you two. Again, my apologies about the misunderstanding earlier." He puts on his hat and walks out.

Once he left, Eddie rolls his eyes.

"Did Dan send you here? I told him, I don't want to go home. I hate school. Everyone expects too much from me." He gestures for everyone to follow him to his office that was marked 'Private.' He takes off his hat and throws it perfectly on a coat rack across the room without looking. He goes to his desk and picks up a pack of smokes. "What? You want one?" He saw the two men staring.

"No thanks. Kid, how long have you been in here?" Devon was looking around. Very nice, the details alone. The stale smoke, the dirty windows, even had a touch of depression. But then again it could be Eddie who looked so beaten and tired.

"Since yesterday. My brother and I had a fight. Hadn't seen him since he left, claimed he had to add some details." Forgetting the smokes, he sits down on his desk. "The book was almost finished. The thing is we couldn't decide on an ending." He opens a drawer and takes out a liquor glass decanter. Seeing their expressions, he chuckled. "Relax, it's just cola. Want some?"

After they finish their drinks, Eddie tells his story.

"My brother and I are witches. But you two know that. Magic School rarely lets in mortals." He sighs. "Being a witch isn't as cracked out to be. Sometimes I wish I was normal, do something other than be a spell castor." He sighs. "My brother, he was the brains behind this book, I was just along for the ride. Wish he'll come back, I have writer's block." He pours another drink. "What powers do you have? Mine's lame, I can only recall events. Gave me good grades, but my brother, he can create reality out of nothing. Like the last story he wrote. We were superheros that saved the world. The Mullen Brothers. We even showed mom our costumes."

"Um, we're not really witches. Not at all." Devon admits. He saw Eddie's face.

"What? Then what are you?"

"Name's Murphy. United States Secret Agent." He shows Eddie his Government ID.

"Devon. Hunter apprentice. I would show an ID, but I'm not sure hunters carry one." Eddie's eyes went wide.

"A secret agent? A hunter? Cool! No! Don't have to explain. I know about hunters. My cousin is one! I wanted to hunt, instead they sent me here instead. A secret agent? Like James Bond? Or like The Man From U.N.C.L.E? Awesome! Man. I only stay here because it's exciting." Devon smiled at his enthusiasm. He was what? Fifteen? He remembered how incredibly jealous about his sister's fame when she was younger, then her new 'career' a few years later. He kept asking questions till Devon cut him off.

"This story. Eddie, how did you make it come to life?"

"My brother did. It's part of our project. We write something, make it into a book, and live the story. It's a novel, but It ends quickly for the person reading it."

"Like bullets."

"Bullets?" He looked at Devon. "It's fiction. The heroes never die. Just the characters that are written die. Real people are perfectly safe. My last story, I was eaten by dragons. My brother killed it and saved the princess. We got a A."

"Then explain the gnome." Murphy was getting tired of this.

"What gnome?" Eddie looked confused. "Not to be a sizist, but only people are written in this story."

"A teacher was found shot to death beside your book." Eddie's eyes went huge.

"NO! NO WAY! It's a story. People who experience it are not hurt. EVER. Gideon made sure of it. My characters if they shoot they always miss. That way you can continue reading it."

"Wow." Phoebe was fascinated on what was written. Eddie was horrified about finding out the truth. When he found out how much time passed he was in disbelief. Especially when they showed him their cell phones. At the moment Eddie was asking how they worked, and where he can get one.

"Look, I have a friend. Paige Matthews. She runs a rehab place. Don't know how it works exactly, but since you been here for three decades, you need to start getting used to the future. Bogart tells Eddie." Phoebe was reading the book out loud. None of them were worried about getting sucked in, Sam used his magic to protect them. Said Rowena showed him a few tricks.

"Aww. Thanks Murphy." No one liked the guy, but he was right. Eddie needed to be introduced slowly to today's time. "What's happening next?" Paige was on the end of her seat. Piper and Sam were intrigued. Prue wasn't there, she was on a photoshoot in Hollywood.

"Eddie is talking about this 'Falcon.' He said everyone is excited to get their hands on it, and most would do anything to get their hands on it. Um, he doesn't want to leave, he says his brother is still out there." Phoebe teared up. "He doesn't know." Poor Dan. He was only seventeen.

"Neither does Murphy or Devon. Hand me that book." Once Phoebe hands her the book, Paige was writing down something. "What are you doing?"

"Telling Eddie the news."

They were interrupted by Eddie's phone. Eddie was asking questions about what the Internet is.

"Excuse me. Whatcha got Debbie? What! No. No way." He teared up. "You sure? Yeah. I'll be right there." He hangs up. He was embarrassed to lose his cool in front of the two men.

"Eddie?" Eddie was crying. He tried to control himself, but couldn't. After a minute, he forced himself to calm down. "That was my secretary. Dan was killed last night. Shot to death. Cops already IDed him." He took out his handkerchief and blew his nose. "Does that mean our story is coming to life?" When they nodded their heads, Eddie put his head down on his desk. "This was supposed to be fun. A game. We did this dozens of times. We always came back safe and sound."

"Then how do we end it?" Devon thought about his parents, his sister. How they'll feel finding Devon's body riddled with bullets.

"I can't. I don't know how." He looked ashamed. "I'm sorry about involving you two, plus that teacher getting killed." He wipes his tears. "Look. I need to be alone. Can you give me a minute?"

"What. Sure." Once the two men were gone, Eddie makes a call.

"Don't worry, they don't know nothin'. C'mon Johnny, when did I ever betray you. They don't know 'bout the Falcon's whereabouts."

Out in the hallway, both men were talking in whispers.

"He's hiding something. Those tears, they looked real, but Eddie knows more than he's saying." Murphy been trained to spot body language. Plus he wasn't a very good actor.

"Take it easy on the kid. He just lost his brother." Thinking of Jenna, he knew he couldn't walk away now. Seeing Eddie's shadow, they straightened their suits.

"Sorry about that. Anyways, I just got a lead on the Falcon."

''Really. We didn't hear the phone ringing."

Eddie puts on his hat, his jacket slung on the crook of his arm. Ignoring Murphy he puts on his coat.

"Will this help us get outta here?" Devon wondered how much time passed.

"You really want to leave huh? Don't blame you. Look, the story writes itself. Find the Falcon, we go home. A perfect ending. Lets go."

Devon was about to follow Eddie and Murphy when he stopped dead in his tracks.

"What is it?" Murphy turns around.

"Weird. I feel like I'm getting watched."

"This is a book, maybe someone's reading it?" Murphy didn't sense anything.

"Just hope they don't get stuck here."

"And Sam Spade follows the two men, hoping to find the Falcon. Once they go outside, they pile in Eddie's car. How can you afford this? Bogart asked. He didn't make enough as a Buzzer, he ate cheap foods to pay the bills. San Francisco was expensive. Gotta look the part. Can't be a good gumshoe without a car. Eddie tells them. At fifteen he knew no one will give him a license, but here, no one cares about that. They then drive away."

"Phew they're alive." Piper was getting worried.

"I seen my share of weird cases, but this has to be the strangest." Sam couldn't help but be intrigued. "Can you imagine an author writing about us?"

Phoebe felt a cold chill. She shuddered. As a psychic, she felt a premonition.

"Phoebe?"

"It's nothing. Look! The words are writing themselves!" On the opposite page of the picture of the drawn men, words were being written across the page. Whole sentences and paragraphs were being written. Phoebe reads out loud what was now on the previous blank page. "Spade and the Buzzer had no idea they were walking straight into a trap. Oh oh."

"They're getting betrayed?"

"Sam, this book literary says, Cross, Double-Cross." She picks up a pen. "I can't let anything happen to them." She writes down a sentence.

"A flat tire? Nice." Paige wondered why Phoebe spelled tire, tyre.

Murphy and Devon jumped hearing a POP!

"The hell was that?!" Murphy almost took out his gun, thought they were getting shot at again.

"The tire is flat. That's impossible." The brand name 'Tyre' was flattened when the tire went flat.

"Why?" Devon was squished in the middle, the back doors wouldn't open for some reason and was forced to ride in front, sandwiched between the two men.

"Too cliche. The book is not supposed to have tropes like this." Eddie starts to get out of his car.

"Whoa. Where are you going?" Murphy asks.

"We can walk. It's not that far." Before Eddie could get out, Murphy angrily stops him.

"Cut the crap! Eddie, tell us the truth!"

"It was then the police pulls up. Both men realize they were tricked by Eddie."

"Sorry. This story is never going to end." Eddie apologized. He nodded to the man that walked out of the police car.

"Good job kid." Johnny tells him. Eddie shrugged to the two men, his eyes sorrowful.

"Oh no." Paige couldn't believe the plot twist.

"The two men realized they were Crossed/Doubled-Crossed."

Murphy couldn't draw out his gun, not with the cops pointing their guns at him and Devon.

End of Act 3. Another Iris shot ends the chapter.

"Dammit! This won't work either!" Phoebe was furiously trying to rewrite the book. The book refused to let anyone change what was already written.

"Let me try." Paige threw down her pen. "Argh! Piper, hand me a pencil." When the lead broke, Paige swore. "Why doesn't this work!" They were in the attic at the Manor, trying to save Murphy and Devon. The Book of Shadows was open, but it didn't help much.

"The book writes itself right? It won't let you change the plot." Sam tells them. "The story won't work with sudden changes. A good book has character development." Piper looks up with a smirk.

"Dean was right. You are a nerd. But my nerd." Piper kisses her husband with her sisters gagging in a playful way.

"Ewwww. Save that for your honeymoon." Phoebe teased.

"Charles and I wait till we're alone."

"Yeah right. I recall you two making out after Sam's and Piper's wedding." Phoebe says remembering that day.

"Plus hooking up at Dean's and Jenna's reception." Paige chimes in.

"That was you!" Piper tells her. Her and Sam waited till they were back in their hotel room.

"Oh yeah." She and Sam were about to make out till Phoebe clears her throat.

"Do that later! Sam. Any ideas?"

"Well, a good story follows a good plot." Sam picks up the book and skims the last chapter that was written. "Hmm. In the last chapter, the book mentions a lead on the Falcon."

"They find the Falcon, the story ends. Thanks Sam." Phoebe picks up a pen.

"Okay. While you are keeping an eye, Sam and I are gonna interview the parents." Piper called her friend at the police station as well as Daryl in New York. Luckily the Mullens still lived in San Francisco. Both gave her their contact information.

"Just keep them alive. I don't want two dead bodies. Jenna would kill us."

"No pressure. Eh sis?" Phoebe and Paige were trying to figure out how to get them out of danger.

The book tells the reader what was happening at the moment. The picture showed Murphy on his knees with Johnny the Gent standing menacingly behind him.

"Agh!" Murphy groaned in pain. He was well trained in resist torture technique, every recruit in the Air Force had to do certain training, but that baton hurt.

"Tell me what you know about the Falcon." Johnny demanded. He hits Murphy again.

"Like I told you, I don't know! Agh!"

Devon jumped at the noise. What was going on back there? He got up, before he was pushed back down by force.

"Take a seat. Unless you want to end like your friend." Devon grimaced at the noise. Murphy was strong, but he knew he was about to break. "You have a choice. Tell us where the Falcon is, and you can walk out of here with your knees untouched." The crooked cop was cracking his knuckles.

Phoebe was shaken when she read the book.

"They're not gonna last any longer. Paige, any ideas?"

Paige was deep in thought.

"Write down, the cop changes his mind about hurting Devon, instead he mocks him about hunting." Hopefully Devon got the message.

Devon watches as the cop looks down at Devon after he stretches.

"Listen kid. Why are you working with that Buzzer? You should be living your life, training to be a hunter."

"What did you say?" Devon was looking up. The crooked cop was looking at him with disgust.

"A hunter. You know. Saving people, hunting things. The Family Business." Devon blinked. That was Dean's favorite line. Jenna said Dean bragged about the family business. Someone must be writing the story.

"Yeah. So what? My sister married a hunter. So did my sister in law. It's a family tradition. As for the Falcon, maybe I am hunting for it."

Murphy groaned. He was about to pass out. When Johnny pulled out his gun, Murphy's eyes went big.

"I'll give you one more shot. Tell me where the Falcon is, and I'll make it quick. Whatever your answer is, I'm leaving with it tonight."

Before he can beat Murphy again, Devon charges in with a gun.

"Murphy!" That distraction is all Murphy needed. He uses his legs to sweep Johnny's legs from under him. Once he was knocked out, Murphy takes his gun.

"You alright?" He was pointing his gun at Johnny who was out cold.

"Yeah." Devon was holding the gun he stole from the crooked cop.

"How did you escape?" Once he felt like the cop was passed out, he tucks the gun back in his pants. Wasn't safe, guns belonged in a holster. But since this was fiction, he knew he won't get hurt.

"Got some tips from my new sisters." Jenna did good, Dean had some amazing friends. "You were right about Eddie."

"No, you were. Eddie needs to be saved. I'll explain on the way." They run out.

Back in the real world, Piper and Sam were talking to Mrs Mullen about her two sons. She was now in her mid sixties, after almost thirty years, she was hoping for closure about Eddie.

"So you are telling me, there was another shooting?" She was trembling.

"Mrs Mullen if this is too much..." Piper hated to put her on the spot.

"No. I'm fine. If only their father was still around." Mr Mullen, he passed away last year without any closure. "Eddie, I don't care what everyone says, he is innocent. My son, his older brother, he and Eddie were close. Eddie loved his brother." She sighed. "You have children?"

"Not yet." Sam smiled at Piper's expression. He squeezed her hand. Piper smiled back.

"Kids. Hardest job on Earth, but well worth it." She paused to take a breath. "I never left the city. I stayed behind in my home even after my husband passed away. I never stopped hoping Eddie would come home." She teared up. "After the funeral, I started my own investigation. Everyone at Magic School blamed Eddie. Especially Gideon." She crumpled up her tissue in anger. "Eddie didn't do it. There was no evidence he did. You know what Gideon said after I confronted him with my evidence? He banished me from the school!" Her face was red with anger. "Mortal cops may not be perfect, but at least they do their job. Not sweep everything under the rug. Whoever is running the school now, I hope they do a better job protecting their students then the Elders." She blew her nose.

Piper was very uncomfortable asking this next question, but she had to know.

"Mrs Mullen."

"Call be Belinda."

"Belinda. Do you know anything about that book your sons were co-writing together?"

"What does that have to do with anything? Why you have a lead on Eddie? Because when I tried to get that book, Gideon said it was lost. That Eddie took off with it. I was always skeptical. That book was always at Magic School. I'm sure you heard about that creative writing course?" When the couple nodded, Mrs Mullen continued. "It was Dan's idea. He was always the creative one. Eddie, he had a talent for recreating events. You know like showing off a documentary. With both teaming up, they were hoping to get the grades and the recommendation from Dan's teacher to get in Knox University. Plus to give Eddie the confidence he needed to be a hero in their story." That caught their attention.

"What did you say?" Piper asked.

"That Eddie needed to be hero."

"I know how to help them out." She tells Sam. Looking at a confused Mrs Mullen, she smiles. "If we find out anything about Eddie, you'll be the first to know." She and Sam quickly go back to the Manor to tell Phoebe and Paige what they know.

Back in the book, Devon and Murphy were arguing.

"Now you're defending that kid? He almost had us killed!" They were walking in a alley somewhere. Devon was furious at how close they were in danger. Murphy was shaking his head.

"I been in the service for years. Then my stupid government job. Even after all that, I almost forgot what it was like to be an innocent kid." Eddie's eyes. Murphy was staring at a mirror. "All my life I had a path. Do this, do that, work hard, blah, blah, blah. I never lived once."

"Okayyyyy." Where was he going with this? Devin wondered.

"Eddie, he's here because he doesn't want to leave. He, like me is following a path. He is afraid, like I was, am."

"Then why did he try to kill us?"

"That was an accident. Remember his brother?"

"Dan? Yeah. Wait, did Eddie..."

"No. I think he was set up. This school, it was supposed to protect innocents. As far as I knew no one died. The characters in this book are playing their roles. Johnny the Gent, the crooked cops. Dan, he knew something."

"A crooked employee?"

"Let's get that stupid Falcon. Then we can solve the real mystery after we get out of here."

Back in the Manor, everyone was in shock.

"Dan was murdered. Not by the book, but by something else." Piper couldn't believe it. "Gideon was in charge of that investigation."

"Lots of good that is. The Elders and whitelighters are gone." Gideon was dead.

"Then who was behind it?" Paige was looking at both Phoebe and Paige.

"First, lets see how this story concludes." Phoebe started reading again.

Johnny was staring at the Falcon Eddie took out of the safe.

"You had it this whole time?!"

Devon expected a jewel or something. Not a stuffed bird.

"The Falcon. Kid. Hand it over." Johnny demanded.

"Not until you tell me something. Who killed my brother?" When Johnny shot Murphy, he jumped.

"Murphy!" Oh god. Devon couldn't believe it. "I thought this was a story!" He was looking at Eddie with horror.

"It is." He looked at Johnny. "Who are you?" The real Johnny was a fictional character. When his eyes turned dark, Eddie stepped back. "Demon."

"Dammit! Phoebe!" Paige was terrified.

"Ah. There is only one way to end this story and to trap the demon. Eddie had to tap into his heart and become the hero he was always meant to be." She wrote.

Devon was holding on to Murphy's wound.

''Stay with me buddy. I gotcha." Being a hunter, it was harder than it looked. He was making sure Murphy didn't bleed out. He was watching Eddie staring at the demon.

"Who are you."

"Kid, you have a gift. You see, we been searching for you for years. You and your brother. My master, he is looking for soldiers for his army. I don't know why he spared your mom, I would have gladly burned her on the ceiling, but Azazel didn't want to draw too much attention. Especially with a hunter married to a witch." He was smirking at a stunned Eddie. "Dan, he said no, even with me promising him a leadership position in Hell's armies. So I killed him. Aww. Don't look so sad. He's at the Penthouse upstairs, he's most likely creating a perfect Heaven to live out his fantasies. But you, you are a better candidate. What do you say. Like you have a choice. The Buzzer here, he only has minutes left. You want his murder to be in your hands?"

Eddie was standing with that Falcon pondering his words. Devon was begging him to not listen, that demons can't be trusted. He squeezed Murphy's hand. Thankfully Murphy squeezed it back. Eddie was about to hand over that Falcon, till he stepped back.

"My brother was my best friend. I miss him. I will always miss him. I will never forgive you for taking him away. But too much blood has already spilled." He looked at Devon. "I know the ending now." He looked at Johnny. "Here."

"Kid, what are you doing?" Murphy asked in a weak voice. The Falcon was never supposed to end up in the villain's hands. Devon was also confused.

"A hero always puts others first." When he took out a gun and places it under his chin, Devon and Murphy scream at him to stop. Devon anyways. Murphy could only whisper.

"Kid, what are you doing? If you die, your friends will be trapped here forever!"

"They won't. In the index I remember Dan writing something. I don't know what you have on Gideon, but you won't hurt anyone again. Goodbye."

"Eddie puts the gun under his chin, and slowly squeezes the trigger. But not before the Hunter and Buzzer fade away in a white light."

THE END

The screen fades to black.

COMMERCIAL BREAK

Jenna shook her head.

"The hell was that?! That can't be the ending! What about Eddie? The demon?" Devon and Murphy were fine, obviously.

"I was just getting to that. I woke up at Magic School. The Halliwells, they figured we'll be safe there. Murphy, he was in bad shape."

"Paige!"

She and Phoebe figured to take the book to Magic School. They just hoped it wasn't too late. Paige left for a few minutes to find a cure to fix Murphy, luckily they knew where a cure was. Just in time, both Murphy and Devon popped out of the book just as Sam and Piper ran in. Since Sam was closer, Paige throws the bag at Sam.

"Sam!" Paige comes running in with a small bag. "Hurry!" She tosses it to Sam.

Sam quickly dusts the Unicorn dust over Murphy's wound. The wound slowly heals itself.

"How's Devon?" Piper was checking up on him.

"He's fine. Just sleeping." She was glad. Jenna would have killed her if he died. "What about Eddie?"

"Still inside. We need to get him out of there." The book ended in a cliffhanger.

"My god." Jenna was in awe. "So you became a hunter based on that?"

Two hours passed since Devon told the truth. Jenna rarely interrupted him, her brother was a great story teller.

"What happened to Eddie?"

"I was getting to that."

"Seriously?" That potion didn't work either. "That was the strongest one!" Piper was getting frustrated, she's been working on freeing Eddie for a few hours now. None had no idea how time worked in that book, they were worried Eddie already shot himself.

"Can you get a premonition?"

"You think I didn't already tried that?" Phoebe felt terrible. "I been looking in the Book, I even called Prue."

"What did she say?"

"Look in the Book."

Paige was glad Murphy was okay, he was just dazed. They told him to go to the hospital, but Murphy refused. He said he didn't want his bosses finding out. But he did agree to get checked out by Annie. As for Devon, he was fine. He didn't get shot. But he stubbornly kept reading the book, saying he wanted to trade places.

"I don't care what my sister says. He's just a kid!" He kept reading the last page. "How can this book end. What a shitty ending." No way was he leaving Eddie behind.

"There has to be another way." Sam was helping, although he didn't know what time do. "Any ideas?" He jumped when Paige yelled.

"That's it!"

"What?" Piper just ran out of African Dream Root. She was hoping to use that as a back door. "What are you doing?" Paige was writing on a page of paper.

"Get Miss Donovan in here. Meanwhile, I'm going write my fanfiction."

"I don't know. It was shut down for a reason." She was intrigued, she was hoping to revive that program, she had so many ideas, no one read anymore. "I have to find Gideon's file, figure out what secret that demon had on him." Once everyone filled her in.

It was hours till they had everything they needed. Piper managed to find the ingredients needed for her potion, Phoebe and Sam worked together to create the magic needed to go inside Paige's story, and both Murphy and Devon agreed to go back in.

"I can go." Paige was curious to see what her story was about. Her story was short, and after reading it out loud, everyone agreed it was the best way to save Eddie and to vanquish that demon. They were going to leave the decision to Eddie, if he wanted to destroy the book or not.

"Eddie won't know who you are. Plus the story won't work with a new character randomly thrown in at the last minute." Sam explained. He blushed at Piper's knowing look. "You ready?"

"Yep." This was Devon's chance. To prove what it takes to be a hunter. He looked at Murphy who was thankfully alright. "Let's do this!"

"The heroes refused to leave their new friend behind. They knew their story wasn't finished, but had no idea how to return to the scene of the crime. Luckily, with help from their new friends, both Spade and Bogart found themselves back in Mullen's office."

"What the hell? Just how?" Johnny the Gent was staring at the two men with disbelief. "You were dead." He looks at Murphy who was holding a gun. Devon was holding a potion. "Did Gideon put you up to this?"

"A good author never leaves their story unfinished." Devon smiles at a astonished Eddie. "You're a talented author. Your brother may have laid the groundwork, but it's up to you to finish the true ending."

Eddie smiles huge. Now he understood what Dan meant about having confidence. This was just a story, his biography was waiting to be written. Luckily he put down his gun, it was empty anyways.

"Keep the Falcon. It's just an object. My true treasures, they are here." He smiles huge at the two men tapping his own heart. "I don't know what you have on Gideon, but frankly, I don't give a damn."

"Oh brother. Ow!" Murphy glared at Devon who punched his shoulder.

Once Devon tossed the potion to Eddie, Eddie chanted his spell he and his brother wrote as a private joke.

"If You Managed to Read This Book

You Are Good Folk

But If There is Someone Here Who Does Damage

Then He Gets Vanished.

"NOOO!" The demon screams as he blows up.

"Can you believe this?" Eddie couldn't believe it. "I just vanquished my first demon. Now Dan could rest." He looked up. "I did it bro. Now I can do anything." He smiles as his new friends. "Let's go home."

The story ends with Eddie looking up. His new friends were already gone, Eddie wanted to say goodbye.

"Dan, we did it. We finished our book. What? Our grade? I can ask a teacher." He laughed. "Yeah, I guess. But he's a little too young for me." He nodded. "I'll see you again. No, there is no goodbye. Lets just say see you later." He tipped his hat. Before he walked out of his fake office, he took a last look around. "Its time to return to the real world." He turned off his lights and walked out, his silhouette fading away from the frosted glass door. The screen fades to black just as the book ends with fancy jazz music and fancy lettering.

THE END

At Magic School the book, 'Crossed/Double Crossed' had new authors.

By the Mullen Brothers, Devon M, B. Murphy with The Halliwell Sisters

"So what did Paige name her story?" Jenna was in awe. "I thought demons couldn't get into Magic School? Plus what happened to Eddie?" Devon, he admitted what he really did, being in law enforcement for the supernatural. He hunted, but only occasionally. Instead he and Murphy, his boss/friend solved crimes so hunters and witches didn't have to get hurt or jump into situations that drew attention. Their actions caught the attention of some higher ups who were interested on what they were doing. Now there was talks of putting a judicial system in place, so no innocents would be caught in any crossfires of the supernatural. No more carelessness, murder or exposure. Nothing like the Cleaners who erased everything, but something better.

"She just named her story, Cross/Double Cross 2. It was short. All she wrote that Eddie needed to find his true confidence in himself. Eddie went home, and he was reunited with his mom. Last I heard they moved to Scotland. I looked him up, he is getting his education degree, he wants to teach at Magic School after he graduates. As for the demon, he hitched a ride with Dan. Magic was resetted that time, and it possessed him without anyone knowing, not even Dan."

"My big brother, a hunter. Just a question. How do you make a living? You were always straitlaced, you feel guilty downloading a movie."

"I get paid. What?"

"Huh?"

"It was Murphy's idea. He sends me a case, and he pays for my expenses. Nothing extravagant, we work with a strict budget. It's safer than stolen credit cards, we hate stealing. He has a trust fund, plus as a former agent, he has insider secrets at the stock market."

Jenna wondered if it was like HunterCorp. Devon shook his head.

"We only work with a small team. Bigger corporations draw attention. Anyways, this Jesse. You can't work this case alone, let me help. My last case is done, we had to hunt a Stikini."

"What's a Stikini?"

"Witch gone bad. It's a cousin to the banshee. Kills children instead of the heartbroken. Don't ask me about the origins, ask your sister in law."

"Just one more question. What was Gideon's secret?"

"There was no secret. That demon was bluffing. Whatever Gideon's secret was, it was probably something embarrassing. He's gone anyways, the whitelighters are no more. What time is it?"

"After four."

"Then we'll take my car. I won't tell Dean, just promise me you won't hunt alone anymore. Especially with my niece or nephew in there. I'll be off the clock, I won't get paid for this."

Jesse was begging for the voices to end. He had to end it.

"Tyler."

He was holding a angel blade. Hopefully this ended everything.
