"The animal mating rituals, it varies from species to species. But what they always have in common is making sure they impress the object of their desire."
Billie was taking notes, but kept sneaking glances at the cute guy a few seats away. Subconsciously she brushes back her hair, showing off her bare shoulder giving him a sly glance. The guy gave her the same glance back and then shyly looks back down writing notes in his notebook.
Billie was trying to pay attention, but she was getting bored. It was almost Valentine's Day, and she didn't have a date. Hearing giggles behind her, she looks back.
"What am I missing?" She whispered to her friends. She was careful not to speak loud, their professor was still talking.
"Nothing." The redhead giggles.
"Okay, that's it, see you next week." The professor tells everyone. Once class ended, Billie asked what they were whispering about.
"Love spells? You believe in that?" Billie knew about those, they rarely worked, love was too complicated to be used for witchcraft.
"Not really. But when I saw this book, I couldn't resist. Besides, it was on sale." Andrea shows Billie the book. She felt silly buying it, the store clerk gave her a knowing look.
"It's really stupid." Tessa scoffs. She was lonely herself, she was a senior in college, and was still a virgin to her embarrassment.
"It is not." Brooke argued back. She was determined to forget about her ex-boyfriend, who cheated on her with her sorority sister.
"Besides, I bought this for laughs. Our last Valentine's in college before grad, and we're still single. What to hang out and watch violent slasher movies tonight?" Andrea asked Billie.
"I love to, but I have work." She wasn't happy to work tonight, but she had nothing better to do. Besides, she needed the money. She was moving out of the Manor after grad. She looked at the book. "May I?" When her friend handed her the book, she smiled. "This is so bad."
"What do you mean?" Brooke asked.
"The author had the right idea, but it is backwards. Like this." Billie cleared her throat.
"From Strike of Twelve
Count Twenty Four,
That's How Long the Spell is For,
If to Abate My Lonely Heart
Enchant These Gifts
I Thee Impart."
She flushed when the trio stare at her with surprise.
"Um, I'm doing a paper on witchcraft." She gets up in embarrassment. "Here, there's a party at the new nightclub that just opened." She hands them a flyer. "It's perfect for singles, really hot men and women show up just to dance."
"Cool." Hot singles? They were so there. Andrea was already picking out her outfit.
"I'll see you later!" Billie packs up her bag and walks away, but before she can leave the room, she gets stopped by that cute guy.
"Hey."
"Hey." Billie brushes back her hair. "What's up?"
"We been in this class since the semester started, and I don't even know your name."
"It's Billie. Yours?"
"Ethan."
"Look at Billie." Tessa says enviously. "I been in his class last year, and he's never looked in my direction once." It was so unfair. Her strict Asian parents were strict with her growing up, she wasn't allowed to date, not even in high school.
"Take it from me, you aren't missing out." Her ex, Brooke never forgot her broken heart. Zach wasn't sorry at all, he just told her he didn't want to be tied down.
"Well, all I know is by tomorrow, I'll have a new boyfriend." Andrea looks at the flyer. "Want to go shopping?"
"I can't." I have my chem homework." Tessa was headed to grad school next year, she was studying be a surgeon.
"I love to, but I have to work tonight." Brooke was studying to be a vet, she worked at the local vet clinic as a receptionist part time.
"Okay." Andrea was disappointed. She had no homework, and didn't have a part time job like Brooke. She looked at her book. "Hey, do you think you can spare an hour?"
Later that night, the three women were staring at floor in disbelief.
"This is so illegal!" A rabbit, snake and pig were sitting in boxes on a pentagram. "We'll get caught!"
"Lighten up! They'll be back tomorrow." Andrea tells a nervous Tessa.
"Okay, but first thing tomorrow, or I'll lose my job as well getting kicked out." Brooke didn't want to get in trouble, she borrowed the three animals from the animal clinic.
"Can you at least turn the lights on?''
"Quit complaining! Here." Andrea thrusts a candle in Tessa's hand. "Just light this candle, it's tradition."
"If you say so." Brooke was skeptical.
"Okay. Now that our candles are lit, hold hands and repeat after me."
Tessa tried not to roll her eyes, but she figured to humor her friend. Andrea reads out loud the words on the poster she wrote earlier.
"From Strike of Twelve
Count Twenty Four,
That's How Long The Spell Is For,
Turn Those Gifts Into a Mate,
And Then My Lonely Heart Abate."
They close their eyes.
Nothing happens.
"This is so stupid. Can I go now?" Tessa was getting bored.
"Wait! Maybe we said it wrong." They chant again.
"This was pointless." Brooke walks up her animals and puts the snake and rabbit back in their cages. "I really have to return these. Help me."
"Fine." Andrea felt embarrassed. What was she expecting to happen? She takes the pig's leash. "Wait!"
"What?" Brooke was about to walk out the door with the snake.
"Remember what Billie said, that the words were wrong?" Andrea was holding the rabbit.
"So?" Tessa was holding on to Ben, she saw his name on the pig's collar.
"Let's try this again." She and everyone else puts the animals back in their former positions. " She then takes something out of her drawer. "This should work." She puts on a necklace.
"What is that?" The necklace had a weird crystal on it. It was dark, but that wasn't what made Tessa and Brooke nervous, it was the power radiating off it.
"Found it in a occult shop." Andrea didn't just hit the college bookstore. "What? It was cool. Okay. Remember what Billie said, that these things are usually written backwards? What if we just rearrange the words?"
"Fine. But if this doesn't work, I'm going back to my room."
"It'll work." God Tessa was such a priss. Andrea swore to get her drunk and take her to a frat party to loosen up. "Repeat after me."
"From Strike of Twelve
Count Twenty Four
That's How Long the Spell Is For
If to Abade My Lonely Heart
Enchant These Gifts
I Thee Impart."
They got nervous when they felt a cold breeze, when they heard thunder in the distance, they got really scared. When the room filled with bright light, all three were shocked when they saw three nude men standing where the animals were.
"Why hello there." Andrea couldn't believe that worked. She thanked her old friend Gary for selling her that necklace.
The Next Day
"So how's little Laura? Awww. Really?" Billie starts laughing. "Can't blame them. I'm sure Dean and Jenna want to be alone with their daughter." Ever since Jenna and her baby were released from the hospital, they didn't have time to relax and bond with their baby. Their families never left their side for the first few days. Especially Phoebe who insisted on staying to 'help' after everyone left. The Winchester couple finally told her she needed to leave, she was driving them crazy. "At least she's away in Chicago, her taking those classes will keep her busy." Phoebe was excited to get in those specialized classes, UChicago was very hard to get into, only a small number of transfer students were allowed to take those classes. "Yeah, hard to believe she is going to be a doctor." Billie was excited for her, but wondered how she could do it, balancing her Charmed duties as well as med school. Hearing the doorbell ringing she said her goodbyes to Paige. She goes and answers the door. "Hi!"
"Hey Billie." Her fellow classmate Nora was holding a book bag. "I'm here for study night." She looks inside. "Where's your friends?"
"Piper is in Lawrence, she is enjoying her domestic life, Phoebe is attending college in Chicago, and Paige is vacationing with Richard in Los Angeles." She opens the door.
"So we have the house to ourselves?"
"Yep."
"Cool. So, is it okay to throw a party?"
Billie was hesitant, as much as she wanted to relax, she was scared to get in trouble. Then she realized the sisters were away. Two were across the country, and Paige was all the way in LA. Thinking of Ethan, this may be the last time she'll be here. "We can hit the dollar store for deco."
"Or we can use magic." Nora was a practicing witch.
"Wouldn't that count as personal gain?" Billie was hesitant about using her magic for selfish reasons. The sisters ingrained the truth about the consequences.
"And you call yourself a witch." Nora uses her magic to conjure up a pizza. "I been using magic since high school. So far I hadn't got a single wart." She picks up a slice. "Lighten up! End of the world is coming! Might as well party."
"I guess so." She knew her friend had those same nightmares, but chose to ignore them. Thinking of Ethan, she wondered if he and her can get to know each other better. "So Valentine's Day party?"
"Why not. We're single, we're hot, why not enjoy the college life. Might as well have a last hurrah before we graduate." Grad was in May, Nora was moving to Louisiana afterwards, saying she wanted to study with the witches that lived there.
"Sure! What harm can one party do." Billie liked Ethan, but there was other guys out there as well. "Okay, but I need a good cleaning spell. I don't want to get in trouble with the owners."
In a college campus across town, Andrea was breathing hard as her "date" rolled off her.
"That..that...was amazing." Holy crap, can he get going. "You really are the Energizer Bunny." They weren't kidding about rabbits.
"It's my job to procreate and multiply." Human women weren't much different then rabbits, his breed was just as needy. "Another satisfied customer."
Brooke stared shyly at The Snake. He was hesitant about having sex, he never mated before. But he tried his best, although how he did it was weird. He kept sticking out his tongue to 'sniff' his mate. Fed up, Brooke had to give him a crash course. He was a okay lover, but was very clumsy at it. He had no idea what he was doing. Poor Brooke was on her belly the entire time with her arms and legs pressed against her body. But in the end, Snake and Brooke were glad it was over.
Tessa watches in disgust at The Pig. He kept eating out of the garbage. Unlike the other two, he had no interest in anything physical. Claiming to be hungry, he ate everything out of the dorm fridge and cupboards. The garbage was his next snack, he kept snorting to Tessa's disgust as ate old orange peels.
"The food will be here soon! Stop that!" Tessa regretted choosing The Pig as her date. So much for Pigs being intelligent. She should have chosen a Golden Retriever. At least they were loyal and polite.
"I'm just hungry." He looks at Snake. "What?"
"You're acting like an animal." He looked at Pig with disgust. He had dried food all over his chest.
"Because you are." Tessa tells him. She was starting to regret this.
"Not anymore thanks to you." He still was in awe of his new limbs. The endless possibilities of being human. He looked at Rabbit who was sweating after he got out of the bedroom. "You still have your animalistic instincts? Think harder!" He should have ate Rabbit when he had a chance. Rabbit winked at Brooke when she walked out of her bedroom she shared with Tessa. The urge to procreate was strong. Brooke blushed, she heard Rabbit and Andrea all night. "We got to take our new bodies for a test drive."
"Wait!" Tessa tells them as she blocked the door. "You can't leave this room!" She grunts as Snake pushes her away.
"We spent our whole lives in cages, not anymore."
The students in the hallway stopped dead in their tracks as the nude men walk down the hallway. A female student grins as she looks down.
"Ooh."
Ethan was rounding a corner carrying a basket of clean clothes when he ran straight into the three former animals.
"Really guys?" His frat days were long over. "You're a little late for hazing. Try again in September."
Noticing themselves naked, they look around. Everyone was gawking at them. Snake nods to Rabbit.
"Hey!" Ethan shouts as Rabbit shoves him hard on the floor stealing his basket. Feeling blood, he touches his head.
"Thanks." They dress in the hallway and walk away, stealing some men's shoes they find in the lost and found.
Billie was spitting up tape as she puts up a heart.
"I don't see why you are doing this. There is a easier way."
"I know, I just want to do things right." Billie was extremely tempted, but knowing the Halliwells could pop in at anytime, made her change her mind. "There!" The first floor was nicely decorated, only took her and Nora a few hours. "Very romantic."
"I suppose." It was cheesy, but very nicely decorated. "I'll take care of the food, I get a huge discount from my job." The party was tomorrow, but they wanted to head to the new club to meet men. "You're off tonight right?"
"And this weekend!" Billie was surprised to get Valentine's off. The college coffee shop usually was busy on Valentine's. "Its the Boss' Twentieth." Billie didn't care about her strict boss, he was very unpleasant and rude. "He's taking his wife to New York for the weekend."
"How romantic." Nora didn't care. "Hmm. Billie?"
"Yeah?" She was checking her socials, Piper and Sam wished everyone a Happy Valentine's Day. They looked so happy together, Piper was gazing into Sam's eyes in their picture. Same with Paige and Richard. Phoebe was currently single, but she posted herself at a party, she was wearing red. Clearly she was having a good time. As for her brother in law, Dean Winchester and his wife were smiling as they were holding on to their daughter who was wearing a adorable red dress with a matching headband.
"That Book, is it still there?" Nora heard of It, but no one outside the Warren Line ever saw it, except for close friends.
"Not anymore. It got moved." Billie quit that job last year, it was too much work for her. The coffee shop paid crap, but the hours were more flexible. "It's upstairs." There! She was happy that her streamers stayed up. Hopefully their party was a hit.
"Is there anyway, we can see it?" Nora asked shyly.
"What?" Nora's face was pink. "I don't know, the attic is locked up." She knew where it was, but Paige had the key. "Why?"
"You know I hadn't dated anyone since Gary and I broke up." Nora and Gary moved to San Francisco to get away from their past in Massachusetts, they were still haunted by the events they experienced over there. They did still practice witchcraft, although not with that dark book they had. Gary was more of a salesman for rare and occult items, he had a knack of selling. As for Nora, she didn't quit witchcraft like she promised those hunters. She instead studied alternative magic, she found out she had a great aunt that used to be a witch. "Is there anyway a love spell exists in that book?" Her face was pink when she asked.
"A love spell? You serious?" Billie never heard of it.
"Why not? There's magic for everything. Why not love? At least just for one night."
"I don't know." Billie was a adult, but she was still intimidated of the sisters. They were her mentors and landlords. "Love is complicated." She read the Book, magic was stronger over certain days, Halloween was one of them. But Valentine's Day? God knows how strong magic would be.
"What harm can one spell do? Besides, it's Valentines."
Billie thought about it.
"Why not? I have nothing better to do." She thought about Ethan. But what if there was others out there. "I know where Paige keeps her key." Paige, before she left warned Billie that the Book was for emergency use only. Valentine's Day was coming up, and she had no date. "So how do we conjure our perfect man?"
Pig was walking around campus, he was curious about the world. He knew Snake and Rabbit were around, they themselves wanted to explore the outside world. Seeing a student eating a bag of chips, he was tempted to steal it. But knowing he had to fit in, held back. He smiled back at a human female checking him out. He saw himself in a mirror, he was pleasant looking. Not as much as his fellow "brothers," but still a decent looking human.
Sniff. Sniff. The heck? It smelled like home. When he looked over, he saw a grill of hotdogs getting cooked.
"You monster!" He grabs the food vendor. "Why?" He screamed. He saw the picture of a pig. He throws him down and grabs the wieners that were cooking on a grill. "Run my brothers!" He throws them up in the air. He then takes off running when he saw everyone laughing at him.
"Vegans. They get more crazier every year." A guy watching with disgust watches as the guy takes off. "You okay man?" He helps up the vendor.
"I don't know." Georgina was currently getting hit on by a cute guy. He basically walked up to her and asked her if she wanted to breed and multiply. "I'm not very religious, I left the Church years ago." She was a transfer student from Utah.
"Why not? You are strong and healthy. Our children will be too." Rabbit liked mating with human females. They did things his breed never did. "I'm healthy and strong, and eat vegetables." He tried meat, and was immediately turned off.
"You're a vegan? Me too." Georgina looked at the cute guy. "Okay. I'll go out with you. Where are you taking me?"
"No where." Snake grabs Rabbit by the neck. "He has a prior commitment." Snake didn't care about any of the humans. They were dirty and selfish. "Brother, we have somewhere to be."
Georgina backs away in nervousness. The guy who grabbed, what's his name? He looked scary. Reminded her of a snake.
"I see you're busy. Um, here's my number. Call me." She hands Rabbit her phone number. "I'm on the Christian Social Group, we meet up every Wednesday in Room 69 in the Bancroft Building. Guess I'll see you around campus." She nods at Snake. "It's good to meet you. God bless."
Snake waited till the human walked away. He then drags Rabbit down a private area.
"The hell are you doing?" Snake demanded.
"I'm a Rabbit, just doing what I do best." He saw lots of fertile females walking around. "Just doing my part." When he got punched in the stomach, he doubled over in pain.
"You do realize what's happening." Snake pulls him up. "Look." He peeled off some skin from his hand. "We're turning back. I suggest we go back and see those humans that turned us."
Rabbit looked at his hands, his human hands had claws.
"How long do we have?" No way was he turning back to a bunny, he saw the science campus. He heard the screams of his fellow rabbits coming from one of the buildings.
"I don't know. But we have to hurry." He uses his snake tongue to sniff the air. "There! Let's get out of sight." He thought he saw Rabbit's teeth starting to change.
Back at the Manor, both Billie and Nora were giggling over their lists.
"I feel silly." Billie was having fun, but she was wondering if she was doing the right thing. "What did you write?" They were currently writing down lists of their dream men. Both were in the attic taking notes from the Book of Shadows.
"I wrote that I want a man that is smart, very intelligent, handsome, kind, a great dancer, and drives a Harley."
"Nice. I didn't think you liked motorcycles." Billie had her own list, she wrote that she wanted a man that was sweet, poetic, good looking, kept himself in shape, and was a witch. She figured it was easier than hiding who she was. "So which spell are we using?" There were a few love spells, all said they had a maximum of twenty four hours before they got reversed.
"Well there is two. One to attract a mate. Doesn't sound too hard, all we have to do is get some ingredients and put it in a bag and chant."
Billie looked at over.
"Doesn't look too complicated." She saw the spell for a love potion. "Let's not use that spell, too much magic is dangerous. Especially during Valentines. Heaven's Cupids are super busy this week. February is their busiest month."
"Can't believe Cupids are real. They sent me Gary, but he and I obviously didn't work out." Nora liked Gary, but when he found out she had pure witch's blood in her veins, he got incredibly jealous and dumped her. Making a excuse she needed to be with her own kind. "There! Finished. Hopefully I meet Mr Right tonight, at least for a day." She closed the Book. "So, let's go shopping, we need new outfits for the club tonight." Nora wasn't planning to get drunk, she wanted to be stone cold sober when she meets her dream man.
"Sounds good to me." Billie wasn't planning on going shopping, she needed to save her money. But she needed to get out of the house. "So you wanna hit the mall?"
Back at the college dorms, the three students who changed the animals into humans were arguing about what they should do next.
"We screwed up. The hell did we just do?" Tessa was pacing around in nervousness. "What we did, what if anyone finds out?"
"Chill! No one will believe those guys anyways!" Andrea was looking out the window.
"We messed up with things we don't understand. This was supposed to be a joke." It was awesome at first, but after awhile it got scary. Brooke was hoping time went quickly, she never wanted to see those 'guys' ever again.
"You worry too much! At midnight, those guys say adios. We already scratched our itch, once they're gone, we can hit the clubs and meet some real men." Andrea liked Rabbit, he was a good lover. But she wanted a real human boyfriend. They jumped when their dorm room opened.
"You." Snake slithers in, even as a human, he moved like a snake. "How did you change us?"
"Um. A spell?" Brooke says in a quiet voice. She never realized how scary snakes can be. Snake was glaring at them.
"How." Rabbit stomps over to Andrea. "How did you do it?" He holds up his hands, which had fur and long nails now. His nose was twitching, his transformation was starting.
"He asked you a question." Snake's tongue was slithering out. He too felt his skin changing. He didn't like it. No way was he going back to crawling on his belly again, he hated feeling lower than other creatures.
Pig didn't say a word, he didn't change yet, but he felt his shoes getting bigger. His feet will be hooves soon.
"Magic?" Brooke never believed in that crap. "The spell said we can have love for twenty four hours." She looked at the clock. "Well twelve now."
"What does that mean?" Pig asked. He walked around campus, other than that murderer, humans were fascinating creatures. He liked the people he talked to, they saw what he did to that vendor and invited him to their animal rights meeting. They were going to protest at a farm.
"It means you will turn back to animals." Tessa tells them. She couldn't wait.
"We rather not." Snakes were deaf, but this spell made him hear and speak. "We want to stay."
"Yeah, we are having fun. This freedom, we like it." Rabbit saw many things, things he never experienced saw before. Like language. "How is it that we can understand humans." Rabbits had their own universal language, but instead of speech, they use scent and body movements to communicate.
"I don't know. This was the first time we did this. Besides, aren't you supposed to be mine?" She smelled women's perfume on him.
"Fix it." Snake demanded.
"Yeah." Pig felt his stomach growling. "When do we eat?" He was starving.
"I don't know how. Wait. Billie. She's the one that told us about witchcraft. Maybe she can help." Brooke tells them.
"I don't know where she lives, but I do know she'll be at the club tonight." Andrea gets up from her window seat. She looks at the three former animals. "Huh. You're back to normal." The 'men' they looked human again.
The three animal men look at each other. They were fully human again.
"How long will this last?" Tessa couldn't believe this. What kind of dark forces did they summon?
"We have to find this Billie human. We don't know how long before we change back." Rabbit was pleased, he had lots of plans. Like freeing his brethren from that building. Maybe change them as well.
"Wait!" Tessa calls out before her friends left. "Shouldn't we talk about this?"
"Go, find that human." Snake orders. "We can watch this one for awhile." The three animals surround a frightened Tessa.
"How's this?"
"It's okay, but that colour clashes with your hair." Billie was bored, usually she liked shopping, but she felt too antsy. She felt weird, like she was being watched.
"It's Valentine's, figures my red hair would clash." Nora reluctantly puts back the dress. "How about this one?" She holds up a silver dress.
"Nice, but a bit informal for Valentine's. Green is a classic colour."
"I have a few green dresses, but I want to look romantic." Spying a gold jumpsuit, she holds it up. She smiled when Billie gave her a thumbs up. "I have a red purse that won't clash with my hair." She looks at the price. "And it's on sale! Want to go to Lotus for lunch?" She and Billie adored Asian food.
"Nah. Come over at eight. We can call our dates there." Billie needed to head over to the local supermarket, that spell they needed required a few herbs they didn't have. She was looking forward to meeting her dream man, she wanted what her friends had. After saying goodbye to Nora, she left the mall.
The figure watches as Billie drove away. He was holding a Valentine's Day card.
"Where are we going?" Brooke was exhausted. "We been walking for hours."
"Yeah, and we need to get ready for tonight." She was looking to going out to that new club, but maybe tonight she and her roommates can stay in and watch romance movies instead.
"We're looking for that human." Snake was kicking himself for losing his tongue. Unlike dogs, snakes were more keen to scent.
"But I don't know where to look. She could be anywhere." Brooke was exhausted. She missed her ex. He was a jerk, but he wasn't as demanding as these three. They were so whiny. Especially The Pig. He kept complaining he was hungry. "Where's Tessa anyways? She has a car."
"Like I told you, she's sick." These humans, they were annoying. "How long do we have?"
"I don't know. Four hours? Or more?" Andrea looked at Snake. "None of us know about magic, no one does."
"But you performed the spell." Snake looks around, trying to see any human with yellow hair. There was lots, but none that fit the description Andrea described. "She comes here, like you do."
"Well she is a student." Good thing their own classes were canceled. "She'll be around, she's probably on her way here."
"Or at the club tonight." Brooke stops in front of a poster. "She did say she wanted to find love. You three, you can find her there. Club opens at ten."
Snake looks at the poster.
"I can't read this." They can talk, but reading and writing were foreign to them.
"Tell us, then teach us how to read." Rabbit demanded.
"Club Trinity. There! Happy!" Andrea was sick of the three hybrids, no wonder she never stuck to one guy for long. Maybe she should forget her plans for Valentine's. Men were annoying, animals no different.
"Thanks." Snake grabs Andrea and chokes her till she went unconscious. "Thought she never shut up."
"Don't touch me." When Rabbit grabs Brooke. She didn't have time to scream before she went unconscious as well.
"Why did you do that for?" Pig was staring at the two unconscious women. Unlike the other two, he was the one that spent the most time with humans.
"Hmm." Spying a rock around Andrea's neck, he immediately feels a power after he rips it off her neck. "This. I recognize it." Snake's vision, he saw a Garden. His ancestor, The Snake was tempting a human woman. "This rock, it has magic." Snake didn't know what it meant, but he knew he'll be human for awhile.
"Let me see." Rabbit takes it out of his hand. "This magic. I know it." He didn't see anything, but he recognized the power. "This was from The Garden." All animals remembered the Garden. Their ancestors, they all lived there.
Pig cautiously touches it. Immediately, he is taken back to The Beginning.
"I saw it." He couldn't say anything else. "How did the humans get their hands on this?"
"Who cares." Snake puts it around his neck.
"Why do you get to wear it?" Rabbit demanded.
Snake didn't answer him. Instead he takes the women and move them in the bushes.
"Will they be okay?" Pig, he liked the pretty blonde. She was always so kind to the animals at the animal healing place.
"They'll be fine. But for you..." Snake and Rabbit walk menacingly towards him
"Guys? Come on. Maybe we should..." He didn't have time to scream before they both killed him by squeezing his neck.
"So unclean." This rock, it's power was faint. Time drained it. He had plans to kill Rabbit as well, but for now, he needed him. "Help me hide the body."
"And the women?" Rabbit needed to steal the rock, he didn't trust Snake at all. His kind was enemies with snakes.
"We need them." Snake knew this magic was temporary, to become fully human, he needed that witch. He just hoped The First didn't find him first.
Billie and Nora were giggling at their lists.
"You added more? I thought you were done?" Billie herself rewrote her list, she had a idea what her true love was really like.
"I did. But all I added was one more thing." When she handed it to Billie, she blushed when Billie laughed.
"Kinky!" Billie handed it back to Nora. "That is important." She looked at her own list, and added rich. Thinking of her own financial struggles. She 'borrowed' one of Phoebe's dresses, hopefully she didn't mind, it was a Chanel red original. She already put down a deposit for the drycleaning. "So what do we do first."
"Just throw the ingredients in this pot as well as our lists. Then we chant."
"Let's just hope nothing bad happens." Billie hoped not, she needed a break from her life. The Sisters got it, she needed one as well.
"At least we're not men. To attract women, they have to put honey cake in their sweaty armpits for the day." Nora smirked when she looked at the Book. A Warren Ancestor must have been persuaded by a gentleman caller back in the day.
"What if they're gay?"
"They use strawberry cake instead." Nora puts everything in the smoking cauldron. "Ready?" They start chanting.
"I Conjure Thee,
I Conjure Thee,
I Am The Bee,
As I Desire
So Shall I Be."
Smoke and thunder sounded just as they were surrounded by smoke and wind. After a few seconds, the room was back to normal.
Billie cautiously opened her eyes.
"Did it work? Usually this Book is used by the Sisters. The Power of Three is usually needed." Hopefully nothing bad happened.
"Guess we'll find out." Hearing a doorbell ringing, both ran downstairs.
"Wait!"
"What?" Nora's hand was on the doorknob.
"What if the spell worked too well." Billie was incredibly nervous.
"Relax! Neither one of us lives here, probably just a coincidence." She opens the door.
"Delivery for a Paige Matthews." A tired looking delivery person was holding a huge bouquet of red roses. He hated Valentine's, but not as much as Mother's Day. He always worked overtime.
"I'll take those. Thanks." Billie tipped him, although she was saving her money.
"Thanks. Happy Valentine's Day." The delivery man thanks her after tipping his hat at her.
"Those are gorgeous." Nora was jealous. Her ex never gave her roses, instead he gave her old vintage toys or comic books as presents.
"Yeah, Richard went all out this year." Lucky Paige. Richard was exactly the kind of man she wanted. Rich, good looking, and a witch.
"Where are you going? The club doesn't open till ten." It was still early.
"Finding a date. I'm taking this for a test drive." Nora waves a finger at her body.
"Have fun!" Billie still had to do her makeup. She goes upstairs to do her makeup and hair.
Rabbit and Snake walk around San Francisco's downtown. Plus after beating a man to a bloody pulp for no reason, playing chicken with a car, and robbing a old woman for her groceries, they were sitting on a bench eating the groceries they stole.
"Any ideas?" Rabbit was munching on celery, he detested carrots, his former owner always gave him carrots as a snack.
"We wait." Snake already polished off the dozen eggs, he swallowed them whole. At the moment was drinking the goat milk that was sitting in the bag. He was watching the humans, most were either walking with one another holding hands, or was staring sadly at the couples walking by.
Rabbit didn't say another word, he too was watching. All day he overheard the word, love. Love? What was that? He watched as a couple kissed in front of a water fountain. Both men looked so happy.
"Guess they don't care about multiplying." Rabbit knew a few animals that preferred someone of the same gender. Unlike humans, animals didn't care. "They must be affected by this Valentine's Day spell."
Snake just watches them with a cold expression.
"What are you doing?" Snake was walking towards them.
Rabbit watched blankly as Snake strangled one of the men to death. His partner tried to help, but Snake calmly punched him in the throat cartilage, killing him instantly. He then takes their wallets.
"We need this money to live." Snake saw humans using paper and plastic to pay for things. He then strips them to their underwear, taking their clothes. "We have to look the part." They were wearing fancy looking clothes, way different than the casual clothes they were wearing.
"Then how do we find this Club Trinity? We can't read."
"I took this." He took out a flyer from his jeans he threw on a ground. "We'll just look for something that looks like this."
A triquetra was on the flyer, it was the symbol of the club.
"Let's have dates we said, this won't hurt anyone we said."
''They let us go. Quit complaining!" Andrea was getting annoyed. "I bet Tessa is stewing at home, she was looking forward to Valentine's Day."
Luckily they were close to their dorm, after those guys forced them to circle around town, and all over campus looking for Billie, they found themselves waking up in some bushes. As for those guys, they were long gone.
"Tess? We're back!" Andrea was looking forward to having a long, hot bubble bath. Good thing she had her parent's credit card. The Four Seasons had a luxury suite compete with room service.
"Tess? Where is she?" Brooke knew Tessa's routine. She usually studied whenever she was alone. Especially now, she was heading to med school this fall.
Hearing a knock, they turn around. Since Brooke was the closest to the door, she opened it. There was two cops standing on the other side.
"Detective Mitchell. This is my partner, Detective Ballard." Henry Mitchell and Diana Ballard were holding up their badges.
"Can we help you?" Brooke was incredibly nervous. Cops always made her uneasy.
"We have questions about your roommate, Tessa Li."
"What about Tessa." Oh god.
"She was found in the communal showers, she was found beaten and unconscious." Henry tells Brooke.
"Is she okay?" Andrea walked over where Brooke was.
"I'm afraid not. She's at San Francisco memorial fighting for her life." Diana tells her. "She was poisoned."
Brooke started crying.
"This is all our fault." The snake. It was poisonous.
"Excuse me?" Henry's eyebrows were raised.
"We saw a loose snake earlier. Must have escaped. Excuse me. I have to call my dad." She shut the door on the cops' faces.
"The hell? We just looked guilty!" Brooke's life was ruined.
"My dad's the best lawyer in California. Relax! We'll fix this!"
Henry and Diana were still standing in front of the closed door. They heard the girls arguing on the other side.
"A loose snake?" Diana was curious.
"Three animals went missing last night. A pig, a rabbit and a snake. The vet clinic called us, saying their animals were missing." Henry and Diana didn't handle run of the cases like this, but Tessa Li was poisoned by snake venom. "Brooke Jonson was the last employee that closed up." A coincidence?
"But that isn't the only thing. A hotdog vendor made a complaint to campus security. Said a frat guy stole some hotdogs and assaulted him."
"That doesn't make any sense. What does that have to do with Tessa?" Henry was wondering about that.
"He was seen walking around with Andrea and Brooke around campus. Along with two other men."
"They were probably their dates. It is almost Valentine's." Henry saw the security footage. All five were walking around campus.
"Maybe." Diana was wondering about that. Seeing a male student with a bandage on his head, she walks over to him. "SFPD. Detective Ballard, I have some questions."
"Is it about my head? About time. Bastards stole my clothes." Ethan was a poor student, those clothes were his only wardrobe.
"Can you explain what happened?" Henry took out his notepad.
"I saw three naked men walking around."
"Naked?" This was new.
"Yeah. I assume they were drunk, the frats around here are party central. One of them stole my clothes." Ethan was still annoyed about that. "If you can find the name of that guy, I want to file a complaint. Plus sue him for stealing my clothes."
"Can you describe them?" Diana was writing things as well, she and Henry often exchanged notes.
"The guy who hit me and stole my clothes was tall, about maybe five feet eleven to six feet tall. White, short dirty blonde hair, maybe around twenty."
"And the other two?"
"One was chubby. Maybe a inch taller than his friends. Had a hairy body, short red hair, and had bad breath. He smelled like garbage."
"Okay. What else." Diana was still writing.
"The leader. He was standing on the right." Henry noticed how uncomfortable he looked. "He was the best looking. Look, I'm not gay, but he was the most fit." Ethan saw what his body looked like. "He had very short dark hair, with blue eyes." Both noticed how Ethan was trembling. "I don't like to judge, but he was creepy." Whoever he was, he made Ethan nervous. "He gave orders to his friends, both listened without arguing."
"Do you know their names?" Both cops were taking notes.
"No ma'am." Ethan wanted nothing more than to go back to his room. He was looking forward to hitting the club to see that hot blonde he met earlier, but he couldn't afford to go out. "I have to go, I have to call home. I need money to buy clothes."
"Thanks for your time." Henry closes his book just as both their phones rings. "Mitchell. When?" He saw his partner on her own cell. "Two murders? We're on our way."
"We may have another case." Diana got a description from the officer she was talking to. "A man was found dead in some bushes on campus. Description matches the guy who assaulted that vendor."
"Looks like we have a Bloody Valentine." Henry seen that movie when he was young.
"So much for my plans." Diana had a date, she met him on a dating app. "Guess I have to cancel." She sighed. She was looking forward to putting her murderous ex behind her.
"Sorry about that." Henry liked Diana, she was like a older sister. "Maybe St Patrick's will be better."
Billie was standing in the kitchen touching up her lipgloss when Nora came in. (Billie loaned her the spare house key since Nora told Billie she wanted to spend the night away from her roommate and her boyfriend).
"Just in time. I already called RideShare." Naming a popular taxi-like service. "Good thing I booked, every driver is busy this weekend." She looked at Nora's flushed face. "You're still coming right?"
"I'll try. Um, Billie is it okay that I use one of the spare beds?" Seeing a hot looking guy walking in the kitchen, Billie nodded her head in understanding.
"Use Piper's old bedroom, it's the first door to your left by the stairs. The bathroom has supplies. Play safe!" She heard a car honking. "Gotta go! Pleased to meet you." Wow. Looks like the spell worked. She heard Nora's hunky date and Nora taking their clothes off. Guess Nora was serious about that last minute addition she added. Billie hops in the car. "2346 Haight Street." Naming the address of that new nightclub. 'This night is going to be special.' She thought.
Wow. Club Trinity was hot tonight. Good thing Billie went early, lines were starting to stretch down the block. She waited over an hour in red strappy heels before she got in the club. This place was amazing! It only opened for a few days and Billie was already having a good time. Especially when she went to the bar to order a drink.
"I'll have a club soda, with a cherry twist." She detested club soda, but drank it to avoid the extra calories and caffeine. "Thanks." She was about to pay, when the bartender waved her off.
"It's on the house!"
"Thanks!" Billie tried to tip him, when he stopped her.
"Give me your number instead. And you can have all the drinks you want."
Billie giggled. He was cute, but he was most likely hitting on every girl he saw.
"Maybe another time." She put two dollars in his tip jar.
"Name's Davis!"
"Billie!" She walked away before he can hit on her some more.
She barely went a few steps before she was stopped.
"Did it hurt?" A cute guy was standing in front of her.
"Excuse me?"
"It must have hurt when you fell from Heaven." The cute guy says with a sly smile.
Billie waved him close.
"That line is older than you." The spell, it was working. She noticed a few guys checking her out. She walks away. The night was just beginning.
Rabbit and Snake were walking around the club. It was easy, they came here earlier and killed one of the working security guards. Rabbit then stole his uniform. He was getting smarter, he was observing what humans were doing.
Snake looks around in disgust. It was loud and crowded. Snakes in nature were solitary creatures, he in human form was no different.
"So where is this 'Billie' creature." He was looking around, he got in thanks to Rabbit.
"Those three humans that turned us said she'll be here." Rabbit felt jumpy, he saw the women checking him out, the urge to mate was strong. "We have to hurry." Being human was more difficult then he thought. He saw a young woman standing alone, he realized it was the same woman he was talking to earlier. "Go find that human. Excuse me." He walks towards her.
Snake turns around. Rabbit was acting on his animalistic instincts, typical. Even as a human, he refused to change. Snake would have rolled his eyes if he could. Pushing away dancing patrons, he decided to use his own instincts to sense anything unusual.
Billie was exhausted. So many men. She didn't expect that. She had her pick of men, but there was one guy that intrigued her.
"So you are a student?" He was handsome, but so were the other guys in the club.
"An English Major. I'm a published author." The guy who introduced himself as Thomas was talking to Billie. "Ever read my work? Been on the best seller list for ten weeks."
"Ten weeks? Very impressive." She read poetry, but never heard of him. He mostly wrote about war and death. She preferred more upbeat poetry.
"It is, but even with my success, it gets lonely. When I saw you, it was like the Universe was in alignment. You Billie are like a angel. A true angel."
"I wouldn't say that." She heard of angels, according to Piper, most were dicks.
"Yeah. You're right. More like a goddess. Can I tell you something?" He whispers in her ear. "I'm a witch."
Okayyyy. This was getting too weird, even for her.
"Have dinner with me tomorrow."
"I love too, but I'm throwing a party tomorrow night."
"I'll be there!" He smiled charmingly at Billie, making her blush.
She hoped she was doing the right thing, she was nervous. She was about to say something back when something caught her eye.
A couple was arguing. When she saw the guy grabbing the girl out a side door, she excused herself to see what was going on.
"Will you excuse me?" She was about to follow them, when she got stopped by a guy wearing a Rolex.
"Don't go out with him."
"Why?" He was handsome as well, and incredibly good looking. Billie would have been happy to give him her number, but was distracted at the moment. That girl, she was struggling.
"Fly to Paris with me instead."
Billie just smiled. She walked away, not noticing the men looking at her with lovesick expressions. She headed to the back where the couple went.
"Get away from me!" Billie saw one of the security guys pinning a woman against a wall. Her skirt was ridden up, Billie took no time running over to him.
"Get away from her!" Good thing she took self defense, the creep tried punching her. When she ducked, the guy pushed the girl away and took off down the alley. "You okay?"
"I'm fine." She was shaken. God if that girl showed up a few minutes later. She shivered.
"Call 911." Billie went after the guy. She wasn't worried about being alone, she knew self defense. Plus was a powerful witch.
The guy ran fast. Billie was so glad she kept herself in good shape. Dammit! Her shoe. Paige was going to kill her. She follows the guy to a dead end after ripping off her heels.
Rabbit had to run, he had to get away from the human chasing him. Seeing a tall ledge, he uses the back of his legs to take a tall leap.
Billie was in disbelief looking up. How did he get up there? They stare at each other for a few seconds before he took off behind a building.
An hour later, both Henry and Diana were talking to a shaken Georgina at the police station.
"He seemed so nice." She sniffled. "We met earlier, he asked me out."
"Did he seem off in some way when you met?" Diana hated rapists. Especially date rapists.
"No, he said he just moved here." She was drinking a coffee Henry was nice enough to give her.
"Did he say anything unusual?" Henry was speaking in a gentle way, poor girl was traumatized.
Georgina sniffed.
"When we met, he said he us wanted to breed and multiply. I used to belong to a church, to me that was normal growing up. Get married, have lots of kids." She was trembling. "He must have been brainwashed. Lots of my former church members are married to guys like that. That's why I left the church." Her mom was beaten and abused by her dad, he forced her to do things she didn't want to. "I moved here to start over. I still believe in God, but not the way I grew up. That's why I joined the Christian Social Group on campus. They teach love and acceptance."
"We need a description, mind telling me what he looked like?" Diana was writing down something, when Henry saw his boss waving him over.
"Excuse me." He hated cases like this, murders and robberies were earlier to handle. "What is it?" When Ian handed him a folder Henry sighed. "Another murder? What does this have to do with me?" There was a guy with his neck with large bruises on his neck.
"We think there is a serial killer on the loose." That made Henry look up. "But that's not all." He handed Henry another folder. If hearing about the serial killer didn't get Henry's attention, Ian's next news did. "Took DNA samples. Guess what. The murders had snake and rabbit DNA on them. Tessa Li, same thing. Except she had pig DNA on her as well. Same with John Doe." Henry was reading the coroner's report. He was claiming that the dead guy on campus was a pig. Wrote that he was just worn out from working so hard. Said he was resubmitting his report.
Henry stared at the folder in disbelief.
"Looks like we have to interview those girls again." His case just got weirder. He waited till Diana released the victim she was interviewing. "Got some news."
"Me too. That guy that attacked her, fits the description of one of those college frat guys seen with those women at the college." Her eyes widened when Henry showed her the folders the Chief of Police gave him. "Hoped they provide us with IDs." One of those girls was now a suspect.
Billie was exhausted. She didn't go back to the club, she was too tired to enjoy her night and returned home. She was making coffee the next day when Nora's date came strolling in with nothing but a towel on.
"Morning!" He goes to the fridge and takes out a carton of milk, drinking it straight out of the carton.
"Hiiiii?" Took her a minute to recognize him. "Who are you?" When Nora came strolling in wearing nothing but a oversized T-shirt, Billie's memory came back.
"Babe, found your shirt!" She blushed when she saw Billie. "I'll wash it, but not till your clothes are washed and dried."
"Um, I'll be upstairs. Let you say goodnight." Billie had a lot to tell Nora.
"Phoebe is going to kill me." If breaking Paige's Manolo's was bad enough, Phoebe's designer dress had a huge rip on it. She must have ripped it after she tripped. Billie was going to be in debt for years for this. "Guess this what they meant by consequences." That dress cost her at least one year's tuition. At least she can replace Paige's shoes. Hopefully, that design was still available. She was calculating how to pay for Paige's shoes when Nora came strolling in.
"You wouldn't believe the night I had." Nora was glowing.
"Tell me." Billie needed a distraction. She wanted to take her minds off things. Like how to replace Phoebe's dress. Plus forget what she saw in that alley. Hopefully that girl was okay.
"That spell? Worked. James is coming to the party tonight."
"Tonight? Oh I can't. I'm not up to it." Billie was too emotionally drained.
"But we planned it! C'mon! Why? What's wrong?" Nora was dying to tell about her night. How much fun she had. Phew. James worn her out, they used every condom in that box in the bathroom. Plus his Harley. Even with a helmet, she felt the wind blowing through her hair.
"Weird night." All Billie wanted to do was relax and veg out in front of the television watching random crap.
"That bad? Sorry to hear that. But this is your house, plus we spent a few hours decorating it." Nora was staring at her with sympathy. "Maybe your Mr Right is coming tonight. Mine is. At least for the next few hours." The love spell was only temporary. Nora hoped that James was The One. She really liked him. The spell did say it can attract true love. "Besides I already prepaid for the food. The delivery guys are coming at three." The party was at five, Nora and Billie had to prepare the platters and set up tables and drinks. Plus pick out music.
"Why not?" Billie was a dead woman anyways, Paige's shoes were a limited edition. She already spent a small fortune for the replacements on Ebuy. Hopefully they were legit. If not, Billie was putting a hex on the seller. She paid extra for express delivery. They'll be here on Monday. As for Phoebe, she called Castiel to see if she can pick up extra shifts. Cas said he can't make any promises, he had all the staff he needed. But he did say she was first for anyone who called in sick. Hopefully her Mr Rich came to the party, that way she can ask for a loan. "How was your night?" She was too tired to think.
"This is all your fault!" Brooke was in the SFPD interrogation room along with Andrea. Both were taken in for questioning.
"Will you shut up! My dad will be here soon!" Andrea was nervous as heck, but she wasn't worried. She and Tessa were innocent. As for Brooke, she was suspended from her job at the clinic. The animal's owners were pissed that their pets were missing. "We had nothing to do with Tessa." Thank god Tessa was okay, the snake bite wasn't fatal. She was still in the hospital, but was out of intensive care. "She's fine, that snake bite wasn't enough to get her too sick."
"I hate snakes." Brooke wanted to be a vet, but after what happened yesterday, she was thinking of changing careers. She had enough credits, maybe she could be a pharmacist instead. Her face was blank when she saw the two cops walking in.
"Morning." Diana was holding a thick folder. Henry said nothing, but he was holding to a clipboard with a brown envelope on it.
"Hi." Brooke was so screwed. Her parents were gonna kill her.
"Good morning to you too!" Andrea chirped. She was going to put up a brave front, her mom was a actress on a popular sitcom. She always said to fake it till you make it, as for her dad, he said to never show fear. "How can I help you Officer?" Detective Mitchell was cute. Might as play the flirt card, her older sister got out of trouble many times by flirting.
"This isn't a social visit." Diana wasn't fooled, she's been around the block. She put down her folder and opened it. "Your friend, she is making a full recovery."
"That's great!" Brooke was relieved. She stayed up all night worried about Tessa.
"Thank god. Did she say who attacked her?" Andrea was worried about her roommate, and good friend. Tessa didn't deserve to get attacked, she was the one that was the most outspoken against that spell.
"She says she doesn't remember. However, she was poisoned by snake venom." Detective Ballard looked at Brooke. "Three animals went missing, including a coral snake." The cop looked directly in Brooke's eyes. "You're a smart girl. As a future vet, why is that snake missing?"
Brooke swallowed. Before she can answer, they were interrupted by a knock. A stern looking man walked in with a suitcase, followed by a middle aged couple.
"That's enough."
"Daddy!" Andrea was so relieved. She squeezed Brooke's hand. 'I told you.' She saw Brooke's relieved expression.
"These are my clients. Andrea, go to the car." Mr. Mochel ordered.
"Yes Daddy."
"Unless my clients are being charged, you have no basis to keep them here."
"Brooke, we're taking you back to our hotel."
"Yes ma'am." Her dad was stern, but her mom was downright scary. She gets up.
"I believe we're done here." Mr Mochel hands them a card. "Anything with my clients, call me first. Or take it with the DA."
"Now what?" Henry was stuck. No way can he reach either girls, he knew Andrea's father had very powerful connections.
"We still have one more." Tessa was awake. They both knew all three were probably innocent, but they needed info. "Let's see Tessa. Hopefully she can give us names."
Billie was incredibly nervous. She and Nora just finished setting up the plates and drinks when the doorbell rang.
"Put the stereo on!" Billie ordered. She goes to answer it. "Hi! Come in!" It was that cute guy from her class. "Have a drink, or take a plate." Nora was generous, she ordered a TON of food. Hopefully it would be enough.
Two hours later, the party was bumping. Billie and Nora were having the time of their lives, at least Nora anyways. She was surrounded by men. So was Billie, but, she couldn't help but feel like a fraud. She usually didn't have any trouble getting dates, but none were this perfect. Like Thomas. He was funny, and sweet, and to Billie's surprise, was a actual witch. Although not what she expected.
"My family is really misunderstood. I grew up wiccan. You know, Earth Mother, crystals, the whole shebang. My mom, she is the ultimate hippie. Lives totally in nature."
"My friend is too, although she practices witchcraft." Phoebe was the one that actually practiced the faith. She knew her brother in law did as well, he was good friend with that Rowena woman. She saw his eyebrows raise. "Is that so wrong?"
"No! No. I mean that's great! But most wiccans don't believe in magic. It's all fake. If real magic exists, then why hadn't we seen it?"
"Uhhh." When someone tapped her on the shoulder, she turned around. It was Brooke. "Will you excuse me?"
"Sure." Billie then noticed other men peeking glances. Okay, this was too much. "Hey Brooke! Where is Tessa and Andrea?"
"Not here. Can we talk? Alone?"
"Sure." She waved to Nora who was flirting with the DJ. Nora nodded, she was co-hosting the party.
Once they were alone, Billie asked what's up.
"Having fun?" She was, but something felt off. Like she was getting watched, but not by her admirers.
"I need to tell you something."
Both Henry and Diana were in Tessa's hospital room. Thankfully Tessa agreed to answer their questions, her own parents weren't here yet.
"You'll never believe me. It's too crazy."
"Try us." Diana had her share of weird cases.
Tessa sighed.
"We cast a spell."
"A spell." Henry was skeptical. "What does this have to do with your attacker?"
Tessa looked down in shame.
"I was attacked by three animals. Well, humans."
"EXCUSE ME?" Henry stopped writing in his notebook.
"SHH!" Diana had to hear this.
"It was a book Andrea bought. She said it would get us dates. So Brooke borrowed three animals from the vet clinic. We drew a symbol on the floor, you know like the Devil Star?"
The cops nodded. They were very intrigued by the story.
"Well it worked. The Pig, The Snake, and The Rabbit. They turned human." She sniffled. "It sounds crazy. Even for me. They turned bad. The spell was only supposed to last twenty four hours, but they stuck around." She saw the news on her cell. The Rabbit and Snake were wanted for murder. "They were turning back to animals. But they liked being human too much. My roommates, they left, but I wasn't allowed to leave. They said I would ruin everything, only because I wanted to reverse everything. The Snake, he bit me." She tilted her head. There was two bite marks on her neck. "I don't remember what happened after that. I woke up here."
Both Diana and Henry look at each other. The hell?
"This isn't your fault." Billie was comforting a scared Brooke. "I have friends. They'll protect you. Where's Andrea." Tessa was at the hospital, Brooke said was there was two cops on their way. They'll keep her safe.
"She's with her parents. My mom, she doesn't know I snuck out."
Billie nodded. Brooke was a adult, but was very under her mom's thumb.
"Stay up here. Lock the door. I have a friend that can help."
"Okay." Brooke knew she would most likely be pulled out of school, but she didn't care. "Be careful. Those guys are dangerous. Especially The Snake."
Billie nodded, she didn't trust rabbits for the same reason.
Nora was getting a headache from her date's jealousy. He was complaining Nora was cheating on him.
"Why are you talking to those guys? Aren't I enough?" He and her were arguing in the kitchen.
"We went on one date. I like you, but we're not married!"
"That's NOT the point!" He slammed his fist on the counter, making Nora jump. The party guests that were in the kitchen nervously leave the room. "I can't eat! I can't think! All I think about is you!"
Nora chanted a mild spell, causing him to be quiet.
"Shhh. Just relax. Everything's okay. Just sit down and look at the pretty colours." She gave him an illusion to look at. "See? Isn't those gorgeous?"
James nodded.
"He really likes the new green he bought." Nora tells the next partiers that walked in the kitchen. When Billie came rushing in, she told James to stay put.
"Nora, we have a problem."
"I say so." Nora looked at the clock. The spell still had two more hours.
"What are we supposed to say? Our murder suspects are former animals?" Henry was dumbfounded on what he heard.
"The world is a lot weirder than you think." Diana already left Sam a message. He didn't answer back yet, hopefully him and his brother came. If not, his wife. "If they stay human, we have a excuse to keep them locked up." Witnesses came forward. A old lady, and a guy made complaints to the police station that two men beaten or robbed them.
"Guess that's why dangerous animals are locked up in zoos." He never believed rabbits were so violent. "What do we call them?"
"Two psychos." Diana's phone went off. Sam wrote back that he already contacted a hunter. He said Piper couldn't come, her pregnancy was making her sick. But her sisters were on their way. "Tessa says they are on their way to a party. Sent out a APB."
"Good." Henry's nightmares, he wondered why he kept seeing monsters.
They were on their way to the Halliwell Manor, hopefully they weren't too late.
"Sure this will work?" Nora was reading the spell Billie wrote.
"I'm working under pressure!" She saw two men glaring at her. Those must be the Snake and Rabbit.
"Hurry!" Nora saw them coming closer.
"Something Wicked in Our Midst
In Human Form These Spirits Dwell
Maketh These Animals Experience The Spell.''
"Um. Billie? Your spell worked. A little too well."
"Oh no." Whoops. Everyone was an animal. Even poor James who animal form was staring at the wall.
Ten minutes later, both had the Rabbit and Snake in crates. They were both outside in the yard, they had to corral the guests/animals inside. Luckily, they were all too happy with Billie throwing a steak in the house and happily chased after it.
"Okay. Now what. If you chant the spell, then they become human. Permanently."
"I know some hunters. They are monsters." Billie heard breaking news on the radio that interrupted the music. Two men were wanted for murder, robbery, kidnapping, and attempted sexual assault. No wonder female rabbits ran away from male rabbits. Poor things. "Paige called, she and Phoebe are on their way." Since today was Valentine's, neither could use their magic to warp here. Billie and Nora realized the risk they were taking using magic. "Once they turn, get ready to fight." Billie cleared her throat.
"Undo the Magic
Acted Here
Reverse the Spell
So Help Us.''
"That last part didn't rhyme." Nora scolded.
"I'm not Phoebe." Once the animals plus everyone turned back to normal, Billie and Nora stare up at the now human men.
"Thanks." Rabbit was about to hit Billie, till Billie kicked him hard in the balls.
"No means no Thumper!" Hopefully she kicked him hard enough so he'll be out of commission forever.
The snake was about to bite Nora till he realized he could no longer do what he used to do.
"Welcome to mankind." She punches him out.
Both women watch as the two former animals are placed in handcuffs. Their party was broken up, once the police came, most of the guests took off.
"Hope they enjoyed their taste of freedom." These guys were never getting out.
Rabbit was about to be placed in the squad car when he walked by Snake.
"At least we're human now."
"Shut up."
Billie and Nora were telling a exasperated Phoebe and Paige about their adventures when they came home the next day.
"People died!" Paige was furious.
"Hey, for once I am innocent! I had nothing to do with that spell!"
"She's right." Phoebe was shaking her head. "But you broke our trust."
"I know." Billie felt ashamed. "I already paid with the consequences." She and Nora told them about that love spell they casted, plus their party. "I'll pay for your dress. Just give me some time. Paige, I already paid for your replacements."
"Thanks. But those shoes were replicas." She saw Billie's eyes go wide.
"I paid double for what they're worth! Ohhh." Her poor bank account.
"I think she learned her lesson."
"I agree. Although, my dress was real. I was planning on wearing that for Homecoming next year." It took Phoebe three years to save. "If you are looking for a job, the Bay Mirror is hiring. It'll pay more than that coffee shop, plus the hours are flexible." Phoebe already called her ex, he agreed to look at Billie's resume.
"I already paid for the cleaners they'll be here soon." Nora apologized for the party, she said it was her idea. "Don't be too hard on Billie, she saved a girl's life." She told them about that girl in the alley.
"Well, at least you're okay." Paige was still angry, Billie broke the rules. But she did learn her lesson. "Your friends. How?" Even with the words chanted right, no mortal can perform magic that powerful.
"I don't know. Nora and I are still figuring things out."
Snake was sitting silently in his cell. Locked up again. Being human sucked. He was only three. He was considered middle aged for a former snake. Humans lived for decades. He realized he'll never get out. Bored, he stared at the wall.
The Hunter walked to the cell where Rabbit was. Ten minutes later was standing in front of Snake's cell.
Snake's eyes widened when he saw who it was.
"Master!" He goes on his knees. Every animal knew who it was. The First Hunter was also the First Keeper. "Forgive me." Snake knew he was dead.
Henry and Diana were watching as the body bags were taken away.
"Two suicides." He was looking forward to watching their defense. Their court ordered defense attorneys was calling for them to be locked up in psychiatric care. Even the DA was agreeing, she called them insane. "Did your friend do this?" Diana told him about hunters and monsters.
"I don't know." They watched the security footage. There was no one there, at least where the camera was aiming. Both 'Snake' and 'Rabbit' were talking to no one. But they both looked terrified. "Guess their boss wanted no loose ends." Whatever they were seeing, both were passive when they were looking up.
The Hunter stares at the rock. He felt the familiar feeling of home. He never been to The Garden, but lived close to it. He needed to return this to the rightful owner. Adam would be happy to get this back. It was the last present Lilith gave him before their wedding.
Eve screams as she was placed on the altar.
"You betrayed me! You betrayed our Master!" The Alphas were standing in a circle wearing dark cloaks. "I gave birth to you!" Out of all the Eves in every universe, this Eve was the first. God just placed her in this universe and replicated the others. She stared hatefully at the demon. "You think you'll be spared? Even when you die, you wish you stayed dead." Her Master was insane. God, His Sister, She met them Both. Heard the stories. How Dangerous Their 'Sibling' Was. She was only a newborn, but remembered what It looked like. "When I came back, I'll make sure you all suffer slowly. For eternity."
A old hunter watches as the demon stabbed the Mother in the heart. As predicted, the Alphas dropped dead.
Samuel Campbell looked away. He hated monsters, but who he aligned with, he had no choice. He saw the future, he had to do what he could to protect his great granddaughter, and future great grandchild. He didn't care about Sam or Dean, but he did care about Laura. He saw her picture on the "Intranet," she was a exact double of Mary as a baby. He wondered if Sam's baby would look like Daniel if it was a boy. He looked up when the demon came close.
"You know what to do."
Samuel nodded. He takes the sword and walks out. He knew where a doorway was, good thing he still had Jebediah's old clothes.
Billie was reading the card. When she saw the flowers, she expected it to be from Ethan, the guy she had a connection with. But the writing. She seen it before.
For You
It was a simple message, a red heart on white paper. But what was written inside. Billie was tearing up.
Always
'Billie, your true love is out there, waiting. Soulmates, they aren't only lovers. Your other half, you won't be alone ever again.'
"Christy." Billie hugged the card. She must have asked an angel to send her a message. Telling her she was okay. "Thank you."
Apocalypse World
Christy was rereading the card. It was the exact card Billie was reading. Except it was blank. Billie was going to give it to her crush, then the world ended. Billie died protecting her charge, a little girl from monsters. Angels. Christy scoffed. She debated on writing in it, but didn't. She didn't want to defile Billie's memory. When she heard the bunker door opening, she immediately runs to the door, holding her gun.
"Leo! The hell were you!" She was alone, Mrs Butters and Leo's adopted daughter were out foraging for supplies. Mrs Butters magic was weak, and neither Leo and Christy wanted to wear her out. Angels were completely gone, Leo said they were no longer in Heaven.
"Doing something important." Leo did his job. It was important he deliver a message. "Here." He hands Christy a Valentine's Day heart shaped box.
"Where did you get this?" Opening the box, she hungrily eats the chocolate.
"Found it while doing my errands. Leo had two more boxes to give. "Found us dinner!" He holds up a few rabbits. "We're having a great Valentines supper. Tonight, we eat like kings!"
Leo was smiling at Christy's expression. That smile, he hadn't seen it for years. That message he sent, she needed to know everything was going to be okay.
"Told you the Good Lord provides. He never abandons His children. Come help me clean. Mrs Butters can make mitts out of the fur."
"Sure Leo." Christy hated skinning animals, but she had to work to eat. "Leo?"
"Yes?"
"Can you tell me the story of Adam and Lilith?" It was the first tragic love story to ever be written. Their love was ripped apart by an jealous angel.
"Of course." Leo loved it more than Romeo and Juliet. Unlike the play's characters, Lilith and Adam never saw each other again. Their only child, a son was born the day they were supposed to get married. Shame that Lilith never had a chance to hold him when he was born nine months later, Lucifer corrupted her before she can love her son. "In the beginning, there was a man. Seeing he was alone, he asked for a mate. So God put him in a deep sleep and took out his rib. Then He made the first woman, a woman he named Lilith."
Christy smiles as she cleans the rabbits. Leo was a great storyteller.
Leo remembered reading the Bible. Not the ones that were mass produced on Earth, but the real Bible. The first printed editions, written in papyrus paper made out of the First Tree. The stories in there were lost over the years, the true story about Lilith was in it. Her story taken out by the first priests. Good thing the Earliest Whitelighters hid the Bible away in the Whitelighter Temple, after what happened in Babylon, everyone disagreed with one another. The original texts were burned and desstroyed, including the original stories.
"Then came Eve, Adam's second wife. They loved each other, but not to the extent of Adam's first marriage."
"What happened to the baby?"
"No one knows. The Bible never mentioned it. Adam assumed he died in childbirth. Remember, Adam was the first man, but others came after him. Like Eve, but not the monster, but the human Eve. (Christy heard how the Mother shared the same name. However, the human Eve was the mother of Man). But like I said, modern bibles never mention them."
It was a sad story. Everyone feared Lilith, she was the First Demon. But who was she before she was corrupted? Hearing the door opening, she heard Leo greeting the wood nymph and his daughter.
"Happy Valentine's Day Billie."
Wherever she was, Christy hoped she was happy.
