Edinburgh, Scotland

The Breaker, but known as a hunter in Scotland, runs after her prey. She had to eradicate the monsters before they destroyed the town again. Taking out her shotgun, she chases the creature.

"Time to die." She calmly shoots the creature, but not before knocking out its partner that tried attacking her from behind. She quickly hides the bodies. She didn't want anyone, especially hunters coming around. This was her hunting grounds.

"Sam."

She looked up in the night sky. She wondered where Sam was at, it's been years.

FLASHBACK

Sam was hunting hellhounds, or should he say, running from hellhounds.

"Run Sam!"

"I'm going as fast as I can!" Sam had no choice, their target was getting away. "Who is this guy?"

"Don't know, but he's been causing trouble since the sixties. We can't lose him!" They had to end this tonight.

Sam hunted since he was a child, but he never faced a hellhound before, never mind dozens.

"Argghh!" He grunted when he felt the teeth on his jacket, luckily his partner shot the bastard away.

"We kill its master, then we blow them back to Hell."

"Sounds good to me." Sam wished he could see where those things were, he wondered how she could see them.

"This way!" More hellhounds were coming. Once she helped Sam up, they run to the roof. "I see 'em." Whatever he was, his reign of terror was over. "Goodbye." She hoped her silver bullets were enough.

She and Sam watched as the building goes sky high.

"The dogs?" Sam was breathing hard. He got bit by another one, luckily it didn't penetrate skin.

"Blown straight back Doon." She says with her thick accent. She kisses Sam. "You Winchesters, do all Americans hunt in your schools?"

"Only as a exchange student." Sam teases back. He grabs her and kisses her passionately.

"Not here. We can get a room." She walks Sam back to her scooter and drives away.

"Sam." Hellhounds she could take. But in this latest case, she needed her old hunting partner back.

Stanford Stadium

The Stanford graduates were dressed in their grad regalia, they were getting ready to walk across the stadium.

"I can't believe she did it." Piper was incredibly proud of her sister. "She finally made it." Once Phoebe gets her diploma, she was a full-fledged psychiatrist.

"Not to mention engaged to be married." Paige requested a shift change, no way was she missing her sister walking across the stage. She hated night shifts, but she needed to be there for her sister.

"When's the wedding?" Jenna was there as well, she was holding her daughter who was wearing a small Stanford shirt.

"Phoebe didn't say. We're still in the planning stages." Coop wanted to be here for his fiancee. "But once we decide you're all invited."

"We'll be there." Dean wasn't a wedding fan, except his own, he hoped he wasn't asked to be a groomsman. He smiled at Mel who was sleeping in her dad's arms. Nina, Laura's nanny came to town with them to help them with Mel, but both Dean and Jenna gave her the afternoon off. However, she was babysitting both kids at the party.

"Me too." Sam was happy for Phoebe, but he couldn't help but be jealous he wasn't up there. Feeling hands, he smiled at his wife. "I know." Sam went to a state school to get his degree in teaching, but he attended Stanford first.

"We'll make sure Mel is up there." Piper felt Sam's envy. "Things happen for a reason."

"Yeah." He clapped when the Dean went up on stage to give his speech to introduce the graduates.

"Parents, friends, students, graduates. We are here to celebrate the graduating class..."

Sam tuned him out. He was here for his sister-in-law, she was getting her degree in medicine. He didn't stand up when the graduates walked across the field or clap, he didn't want to wake up his daughter who was sleeping. But he silently celebrated with everyone else when they spotted Phoebe wearing her sash and gown.

"That's my baby sister." Piper was crying.

"Thought I was." Paige teased. She knew her sisters loved her, but she didn't blame Piper for crying. She had tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Go Phoebe!" Jenna didn't yell, she saw Mel sleeping. But she saw Laura clapping along with everyone else.

Dean didn't yell, but he was clapping hard.

"That's my girl!" Coop whoops at his future wife. He ignored his ring that was glowing, it was affecting what was inside Coop's heart.

Sam wondered if Prue and Cole were in the crowd somewhere. Both were important to her. Phoebe rarely mentioned Cole anymore, but said she was willing to let go of the past. As for Prue, her sisters were hoping she'll show up soon. When Mel started crying, Sam offered to take her outside to calm down.

"You sure?" Piper didn't want to leave, but Mel was crying and didn't want to disturb the ceremony.

"I'll be back before her speech." Phoebe was the graduating speaker. He carried Mel outside, but not before grabbing her baby bag. "You wet? Hungry?" He carries her out of the stadium.

"Is she your baby?" An old lady was cooing at Mel.

"Yep. She's here to see her aunt graduating."

"Congrats." She wanted to pinch Mel's cheeks but saw the baby falling back asleep. "There's a changing table in the family bathroom."

"Thanks." Sam wasn't sure if Mel needed a diaper change, but he decided to change her anyways.

He was just finishing changing her when he felt his phone vibrating. Thinking it was his wife, he was startled to hear a familiar voice from the past.

"Hello?" He was putting back Mel's dress when he heard a thick Scottish accent.

"Hallo Sam? I need help." It couldn't be.

"Emma." Instantly Sam was nineteen again. "What's wrong." He didn't care that she knew his phone number, other than Jess, Emma was someone Sam truly cared about in his youth.

"People are getting washed up on shores, foond dead."

"Are there any hunters you can call?" As much as Sam cared about his old fling, he had responsibilities now. He picked up Mel and handed her a chew toy.

"Can't chance put anyone nae danger." Emma was one of those hunters that refused to consider herself a hunter. Calling herself a 'breaker,' she often preferred to hunt solo only accepting help under extreme circumstances. If she was calling Sam after so many years, she must be desperate.

"I can give you a protection spell." He had to get back soon.

"Eh? Yer a witch or somethin'?" Emma sounded surprised.

"You could say that." As much as Sam cared about her, she was in the past.

"Good for you. I always knew you were teagsail." She teased. Sam could almost hear her smile. "Forget about it. I'll figure it out. Take care Winchester." She hung up before Sam could say a word.

Sam stared at his phone for a few seconds. When Mel started fussing is when he realized how long he was gone. On cue, the door started knocking.

"Sammy! You in there?"

"I'll be right there!" Piper must've asked Dean to check on them. He packs up Mel's diaper bag and walks out.

Sam was trying to pay attention to the ceremony, but he was too distracted by his memories.

Freshman Year, Stanford University

"Happy birthday to me." Sam hated birthdays. Other than Dean sending Sam a typical birthday message, no one celebrated Sam's birthday. He sighed and closed his textbook. He needed a drink. Several in fact. Grabbing his jacket, he walks out to the nearest bar, he needed a drink.

Sam was on his fifth beer, but he wasn't drunk. He was playing a game of pool, he needed to clear his head.

"Your turn."

Sam flawlessly hit the ball with no issue. Hearing the guy swearing, Sam's face was blank as he collected his winnings.

"Anyone else?" Sam called out.

Sam wasn't happy or sad. Instead, he was staring out the window. The dorms were closing for the summer next month, and he was trying to figure out what to do. Definitely not with his father, John made it clear he wasn't welcome back, and Dean, well... Sam shook his head. He'll figure it out. He always did.

A few weeks later Sam finishes moving the final boxes. It wasn't the best job, working overnight at a storage warehouse, but the pay was decent for what it was.

"Jones! Once you're finished moving that pallet, go on your lunch!''

"Sure thing Jackson!" Sam used an alias for this job, not that he had anything to hide, he didn't want Dean tracking him down. Once Sam was finished with the jack, he put it away and went for his lunch.

Sam was eating his sandwich outside when he heard a noise coming from behind him.

"Hello?" Instantly he put down his sandwich and took out his knife. He was outside, he didn't care for his smoking coworkers who usually lit up in the break room. He sat still for a full minute, straining his ears for anything unusual.

Slip, crunch, slip.

Sam instantly went on alert. He calmly pretended to pour a drink from his thermos, he had to pretend he didn't hear anything. He just hoped whatever was behind him liked coffee.

'One, two.' Sam counted. Was it a mugger? Or something else. He was retired from The Life, but it didn't mean he didn't lose his instincts. Once he heard the noise right behind him, he threw the coffee behind him and started fighting.

Scuffle, smash, snap!

"You're dead." Sam wasn't sure if his attacker was human, or a monster, but no way was he putting his coworkers in danger. He fought for a few minutes till he recognized a familiar cologne.

"Dean?" Dean was underneath him, grinning away.

"Isn't the point of lunch is eating lunch?" He threw Sam off him. "Thanks for the coffee." Dean was soaked.

"The hell are you doing here? I thought you were in Montana." They didn't talk much but sent messages to one another just in case one of them needed help.

"Dad and I cleaned out that nest. He took off to Minnesota for a job, and I decided to come here."

"And he couldn't say hi?" Sam and John didn't get along, but he was hurt that John couldn't bother to visit.

"He would but..."

"Save it. I heard every excuse." For all Sam knew, John was either hunting or on a drunken binge somewhere. He sat down to finish his lunch when he saw Dean eating it. "Seriously?"

"I'm a growing boy." Dean grinned back with Sam's sandwich. He burped. "Next time, more mustard."

"How did you find me." Sam was far from Stanford. He figured Los Angeles was big enough to hide.

"Wasn't easy." They were in Sam's small apartment, Sam couldn't afford anything better. "But I remembered. You always used the most generic names to shake us off. Robert Jones."

"Whatever Dean." God, he was worse than John. "Seriously. Why are you here."

Dean sighed.

"No reason."

"Bull." New York, John made it clear he never wanted to see Sam again. "What is it this time? Shifters, vampires?"

"No it's you." Dean was looking at Sam.

"Me?"

"Yeah." After what happened in New York, Dean was worried sick about Sam. "I wanted to make sure you're okay."

"I'm fine." Sam didn't know what happened, John and Dean refused to say. When Sam asked, all Dean said he passed out when a demon attacked him from behind. That was the night Sam left for California for good. "As you can see, I'm perfectly okay." Sam was finished his freshman year and was working for a living. "I don't need a sitter."

"Okay. Okay." Dean didn't want to push Sam away. "Mind if I stay for a few days? I'm exhausted."

"Sure." Truthfully Sam missed his brother. "There's clean towels in the bathroom, and you can sleep on the floor." Sam didn't have much furniture, he used his pullout couch as a bed.

"Thanks Sammy." Dean wanted nothing more than to sleep, but he needed a hot shower.

Sam watched with amusement as Dean was watching the stripper from the stage. Since Sam was underage, he used his fake ID to get in.

"She's way out of your league." Sam was sitting next to Dean but wasn't watching the show. Instead, he was watching a guy across the bar. Something about him was off, and he and Dean followed him to this strip club. Naturally, Dean was ogling every hot girl in the club.

"Uh-huh." Dean slipped the stripper a dollar. "Is he still here?" He was undercover and had to act the part. He gave the redhead a wink.

"Yep." Sam pretended to watch the next stripper that walked onto the stage, he saw the guy leaving the club with a woman. "Dean. He's on the move."

"I see him." Dean didn't take his eyes off the stripper. "Meet me outside in five."

Sam left first, he had to get ready. Hopefully, the guy was alone, it made their jobs easier.

"Someone help!"

Sam took off running towards the screams.

The woman was fighting off the guy, he was trying to infect her with his claw.

"Get away from her!" Sam was careful not to touch its claw, its blood was highly contagious. He grabbed the guy's leather jacket. "Run!" He ordered the girl.

"Sammy!"

"Over here!" Sam kicked the guy away. "Watch his hands!"

"I see it." Dean wasn't sure what they were hunting, but he had his machete ready.

Slice! Both watch as the monster's head rolls off its body.

"Been a while since we hunted this thing." Dean kicks the chimera's head away. "Was she infected?" Dean hated to kill innocent people, but once a person was infected, there was no cure. Chimera's blood worked insanely fast.

"I didn't see any blood or scratches." Sam and Dean had the unfortunate part of cleaning this mess. "Mind helping me move the body?"

Once they returned to Sam's apartment, Sam took a long hot shower.

"You did leave me hot water did you." Dean needed a shower as well, plus new clothes.

While Dean was showering, Sam turned on the television. Nothing but reruns, which wasn't surprising, Sam only had three channels. Bored, he was about to switch the TV off when a commercial for a travel agency came on.

"Have you ever wondered what life is like away from the plastic world of today? Nothing but stainless steel and endless highways. What was life like back then?" The commercial showed an old castle and a historic pub. "Scotland, we'd love to see you."

Sam shuts off the television.

"Sam you have beers right?" Dean walked in wearing nothing but a towel.

With Dean around, the apartment felt smaller and smaller every day.

"Dean, there's a such thing as work." It's been three weeks and Sam was ready to wring his brother's neck. "Maybe it's time you got your own place." Sam spent his entire life with Dean. If it wasn't for Flagstaff, Sam wouldn't have known what freedom was like.

"Why? You know I don't like the city." Dean was eating Sam's dinner from the night before. "Can't you buy a microwave at least?" Dean hated cold leftovers.

Sam felt his eye twitching. That was his lunch for tonight.

"The warehouse is hiring. Maybe you can work for a few weeks before you hit the road again."

"I'll think about it." Dean threw Sam's plate in the sink. "Gotta go. Have a date."

Sam gave Dean an obscene gesture. He got up to wash the dishes when that same commercial came on.

"The city of Edinburgh is filled with wonder and history. The nature beautiful and unchanged, the people warm and friendly. Scotland." When a Celtic song played, Sam watched the commercial.

Dean saw Sam's note.

'Dean. The rent is paid for till the end of August. If you want to take over the lease, the landlord is willing to transfer the contract. I'll be fine. Just taking a vacation for a few weeks. Good luck job hunting. Sam.'

Somewhere Over The Atlantic Ocean

"Coffee? Soda?"

"No thank you." Sam tells the attendant. "But I'll like an extra pillow." Sam wondered if Dean would be pissed that Sam took off again. It was inevitable, Sam would have left anyways sooner or later. He wasn't worried about Dean following him, he hated flying. Sam looked out the window, nothing but clouds and the Atlantic Ocean. He thanked the attendant for bringing a pillow, London was a long way off. He leaned his head down to try to get a few hours of sleep.

Edinburgh, Scotland

An exhausted Sam threw down his duffle. There were direct flights to Scotland, but Sam didn't have enough cash to buy a ticket. Instead, he landed in London, England, and bought a train ticket to bring him all the way here. The inn was cheap at least. Plus it helped that Sam negotiated with the owners to stay for a few weeks in exchange for work. He texted Dean to let him know he arrived safely.

'Fine.'

Whoops. Guess Dean was pissed Sam took off again. Eh, Dean could stand to act like an adult at least. Sam went to take a shower, he had an early shift tomorrow.

A few days later Sam was checking out the local university library. As much as liked Stanford, he wondered if he should spread his wings and try something new. Maybe apply as an internship student for one semester. He was looking over some books when he saw a beautiful woman sitting on the floor reading a book.

'Wow.' Sam never really believed in love at first sight, Dean fell for almost every girl he met, but this girl. She was truly breathtaking.

She had dark raven tresses, tied in a messy ponytail, but it was what she was reading that caught Sam's attention.

"The Gallgaels: North Sea Antiquity and Myth Circa 785 AD? Pretty obscure." Sam said out loud. He didn't flinch when she took off her headphones.

"You need this book? I'm almost done lad." Scotland was English-speaking, but the local dialect was foreign to Sam. "Just need a few more minutes."

"I can wait." Sam was usually shy around girls, but something about her intrigued Sam. "I'm Sam."

"Emma." They shake hands. "American?"

"You can tell huh." Emma was even more beautiful up close. Sam was so glad Dean was across the world.

"If you were Canadian or British, you'll be too diùideachd to say hello."

"Diushed?" Sam blushed when she laughed.

"Diùideachd. Shy." Her Scottish accent was strong. "Are you an exchange student?"

"Considering it." Already he was planning on asking for a recommendation. "Yourself?"

"It would be my first year." She smiled charmingly at Sam. "Would you like a drink? There's a pub around the corner."

It was summer, but the pub was full of customers, the rain outside was relentless.

"No way." Sam couldn't believe it.

"It's my birth name I'm afraid." Emma was always embarrassed about her name.

"Emma of the Isles." Scotland was truly another world. "Are you a Gaelic Princess or something?"

"Can't be any better. Sam Winchester." She sips her beer. "Is your life like a John Wayne movie?"

"What do you mean?" Sam was drinking the local drink. He and Emma were talking at a local pub, getting to know one another.

"Things that go bump of the night, shadows that are more than just shadows, monsters hiding under your bed." She polishes off her beer. "It takes one to know one. Besides, I saw your gun." She opened her jacket, a small pistol was inside.

"How long were you in the Life?" Sam was disappointed. He left the United States for a reason.

"Since my father was killed." She gestured for another beer. "Yourself?"

"All my life." Sam declined another beer. "Is it just as bad here?"

"You could say that."

"Sam! Sam!" Piper was shaking him.

"What?" He was so busy daydreaming, he didn't see Phoebe walking up to the podium.

"Pay attention!" Piper hissed.

"Sorry." He pushed the thought of Emma out of his mind. Forcing himself to pay attention to the rest of the ceremony, he picked up his phone to record Phoebe's speech.

"It's been a long hard road to get here, countless days, and nights, but when we walk out those doors, we will wish life was as simple again." Phoebe took a deep breath. "Our time here, it goes by so quickly." She looks at her paper. "When did it all begin? Was it the moment we opened our eyes and took our first breath? Or was it when we had our serendipity moment that changed our lives?" She smiled at the audience. "I won't lie to you, life is never going to be the same again. The sleepless nights, the frustration, we will miss them."

Sam knew why Phoebe was talking gloom and doom, he saw The End himself. He, Dean, Piper, Paige, and Jenna exchanged glances.

"But the end doesn't mean it's all over. Far from it." She took another deep breath. "I don't know the exact moment things will change, but be prepared for the unexpected. Things will never be the same." She smiled at the confused faces. "Remember our youth? How we were young and carefree? Then as we got older, we were forced to make sacrifices to do our chores and homework on a daily basis. Then as adults, we were forced to make our own decisions. It was like we were thrust into Purgatory." The stadium was silent as Phoebe spoke. "We all heard of the myth, that it's everyone for themselves. But if you think about it, why? Why doesn't everyone help one another? Why do we let the homeless go hungry? Why do we elect the official that voted to cut the school's lunch program, or choose to ignore the climate crisis?"

"Where's she going with this?" Jenna whispered.

"Shh." Coop wanted to hear every word.

"Anyways, sorry for rambling; plus being Miss Gloom and Doom. This is a happy occasion, one that we'll remember for the rest of our lives. What if I told you, our forever happiness is on the way? Better than the tastiest ice cream, more enjoyable than getting our dream job, or dare I say, playing with the cutest puppies." She smiled hard. "Let us leave here, not just to celebrate, but to plant seeds for our children, so they could be here, planting more seeds so no person is left behind. Let's be the class that takes the first step toward our Paradise. Congratulations to the class of..."

Sam applauded with everyone else. That speech wasn't her best speech, but he understood why she said what she said.

"Woo!" Dean was applauding hard.

Jenna was holding Laura who was applauding with everyone else. Piper was clapping hard, same with Paige. Mel was sleeping, the applause didn't wake her.

"That's my girl!" Coop was incredibly proud.

"My baby girl, your mother, I'm sure Patty and Penny are watching from somewhere." Victor managed to arrive late, he was stuck at work for an important project and his boss wouldn't let him off early. Daryl couldn't come, but he congratulated Phoebe with a huge bouquet of flowers but promised to be there for her wedding. Cole, Sam wasn't sure if he'll be welcome, he was Phoebe's ex-husband after all. As for Prue, he could see how disappointed Piper was that she wasn't there.

"Let's see Phoebe, then go to the Manor for the party." Piper would have catered it, but between Mel and Phoebe, her hands were full. Plus she was still sore from the wedding Phoebe and her catered weeks ago. Sam wasn't there, but they were forced to fight demons during the wedding.

Once they saw Phoebe, everyone takes turns hugging her.

"My sister, the doctor." Piper was so proud of her. "How do you feel?" She spent a small fortune on her party, not counting her future wedding.

"Overwhelmed." Like Piper, she was disappointed Prue didn't come but was glad almost everyone showed up. "I made it."

"No thanks to Lucifer." Paige joked. She watched that show with Phoebe. "You did it."

Phoebe laughed when Victor lifted her.

"My little girl, I'm so proud of you." He tried not to grimace when his back popped.

"Take it easy Dad." Victor was getting older and was thinking of retiring.

"Just arthritis, I'm fine." Victor held his back when he put his daughter down. "Oof."

"You need help Victor?" Paige knew how to heal, she used her magic to heal his pain. She was careful not to let anyone see her.

"Thanks." Victor's back pain was gone. "I don't need it, personal gain and everything." He still remembered the lessons they had to follow.

"You're family." Paige liked Victor, he was always there for his daughters. Unlike Samuel who couldn't bother showing up at her own graduation. "Besides, it's an important occasion."

Dean hugged his sister-in-law, as well as his wife.

"I think Laura wants to congratulate you too." Jenna laughed. Laura was holding up her arms.

"My niece! So glad you could come!" Phoebe takes her into her arms.

"Auntie!" Laura was talking more these days. "You finis?" Her long hair was styled, but nothing too overwhelming, she didn't like her hair being fussed.

"Yep." She held Laura who was holding her neck. "When do you go to school?"

"When the leaves change colour." Her parents already enrolled her in nursery school, they wanted her to have an early start before kindergarten. Jenna was proud of Phoebe, she hoped she was asked to be a bridesmaid.

"That's all she ever talks about." Dean hated leaving her in the hands of strangers, but she was growing up.

"She already picked out her backpack." Jenna bought her a sparkly purple one. "She is looking forward to meeting new friends."

Mel was still asleep, Sam and Piper were currently discussing where she would go next year. Sam wanted her to attend Magic School to be with her peers, while Piper wanted her to have a normal life as possible and attend a normal school like everyone else.

"I'm marrying a doctor, what does make me?" Coop joked. He watched a lot of soap operas. "Mr Halliwell? Dr Halliwell's spouse?" He wanted to kiss her, but not in front of everyone.

"We'll figure it out." Phoebe smiled when Laura tried on her cap. "It's getting hot in my gown. "Let me say goodbye to my friends, and head back to the Manor."

The music was pumping in the Manor later that night, Phoebe was celebrating with everyone else.

"Guess this party was too loud for Victor." Dean was holding a beer. Both Mel and Laura were with Nina, but she was dropping off both kids at Victor's afterwards. All three were currently upstairs.

"Dad says he's ready to retire, he's already finding a place to live somewhere in the tropics." Piper was holding a beer as well. "About time, he needs a break." She always worried about her dad, Victor worked too hard.

Sam was watching Paige flirting with her boyfriend, she and Mason were dancing to the music. She obviously wasn't on shift tonight, she must've traded with another cop.

Phoebe was getting congratulated by her friends, everyone was asking where her new clinic would be. Coop was holding her hand, he didn't want to leave her side.

Jenna was currently filming the party, she was currently livestreaming to her fans, she said she wanted to show how well the party was going. Once she was done, she put away her phone and asked Sam if he was having a good time.

"Why so serious? Mingle! Dance with your wife!" She says playfully. She takes Dean's hand and drags him to the dance floor. Sam couldn't help but laugh at his clumsy footsteps, Dean had a bit too much to drink.

"Like I care." Dean was slightly embarrassed, but he danced anyways.

Sam was about to ask Piper to dance, but when someone spilled beer on him, he excused himself.

"I'll be back." He was getting a headache from the noise.

"Okay." She saw Sam getting jostled by the party guest. "Upstairs bathroom is free." They renovated the Manor by adding a second washroom on the ground floor for guests. She kisses Sam. "Give Mel a kiss for me."

Twenty minutes later Sam was in the attic looking through the Book of Shadows. He needed to be alone with his thoughts, he wondered why he was thinking about Emma so much. The last time they talked was years ago.

'Breakers. Similar to Hunters, are hunters that live in the Scotland Region. The breakers there aren't any different than regular hunters, they just prefer to be called a different name. Different countries have their own titles, Japan's are known as Hanta, Brazil's Caçador, and so on. All hunters work in secret, they must keep the supernatural under wraps.'

Witches weren't any different, good witches fought evil as well. Most only work with another, but will team up with hunters on occasion. The Charmed Ones were one group of witches, Sam always admired how powerful they got when their magic was combined.

Sam sighed and closed the Book. He wasn't looking for anything specific, he just needed to distract himself from his memories. Beer wasn't cutting it, and neither was partying with his family and friends downstairs. He hoped Piper wasn't too mad he wasn't at the party, he needed to be alone.

He sat down by the window to look outside, seeing a motorcycle driving by outside, he remembered riding Emma's motorcycle down the alleys of Edinburgh.

"Ye afraid Winchester?" Emma teased. They waited till the rain ended to go back outside. She declined to share a cab with Sam, instead, she gestured for him to follow her to her bike.

"I'm not afraid. Just, um, we had a few beers." Sam usually was a light drinker, but Emma kept buying him drinks, teasing Sam to live a little.

"It's perfectly safe." Emma insisted. She put on her helmet. "Here." She handed Sam his, she always had two helmets whenever she rode, never knew who she'll meet on the road. "I spent my whole life here, and know every street. A few beers are nothing to me, I have a high tolerance to alcohol. Besides, as a hunter, I'm sure you had a few beers driving yourself." She gets on the bike.

Sam was willing to get into a cab or walk back to his hotel. But riding a motorcycle? He nervously looked at Emma's bike.

"I'm not sure I can fit." Sam had really long legs.

"You'll be fine. Besides it's almost time." She gets on. "Come on. I promise you, you won't forget this."

Sam forced himself to swallow his fear. He hunted since he was a small child, and managed to survive nights when he and Dean were forced to take care of a drunken John. He puts on the helmet and sits behind Emma. He was so glad Dean wasn't here, he most likely tease Sam for sitting in the ''bitch's seat.''

"Hang on!"

They sped off.

Sam was terrified as she sped through the roads, Emma was driving like a maniac.

"What did you say?!" Emma yelled. She just managed to miss a passing truck.

"Can you slow down!" Sam's throat was sore from screaming. Especially when she barely clipped that truck. Sam felt the bumper on his leg.

"Can't! I'm running late as it is!" Emma sped faster. "Shut your eyes if you want!"

Sam nodded and tried to keep his nausea down. He forced himself to think about Dean. How jealous Dean would be that Sam made a friend with a hot chick. As they sped through the streets, Sam wondered where they were going.

Ten minutes later, Sam was leaning on a wall, embarrassed that the beers he had earlier were puked on the ground.

"You finished being sick?" Emma handed him a tissue. "C'mon. We walk the rest of the way."

"Just give me a minute." Sam coughed. Whatever Emma was going to show him, he just hoped it was worth it.

"Maybe next time don't drink too much."

"You had more beers than me." Once the dizziness passed, Sam wiped his mouth with the tissue Emma gave him. "Where are we?" The section of town looked way older than the rest of Edinburgh. It was foggier here than the rest of town.

"You'll see soon enough." Emma said mysteriously. She takes Sam's hand. "Back in the old days, cars didn't exist. This neighbourhood here, was considered the heart of Edinburgh. Blacksmiths, tailors, laborers, tanners, you get the picture." She holds Sam's hand, leading him deeper in the neighbourhood. "A rich man came by here, he was the leader in this town, making his fortune from the men and women who worked for him." She leads him to the middle of the street. "While his carriage was driving by, he accidentally hit a boy, a son of one of the tanners."

While she talked, Sam blinked when he saw figures appearing through the fog.

"Is that a, funeral?" He saw ghostly figures carrying a small coffin.

"Hmm mmm. Back then you didn't get in trouble for an accident." They watch as mourners through the fog, many humming an ancient hymn. All were dressed in black, many dressed up in old-fashioned clothes.

Sam was fascinated. He wondered how long ago this was. Emma must have read his mind, she told him.

"About four hundred years, give or take." They watch as the mourners get closer.

"Shouldn't we get out of the way?" They were only a few feet from them.

"Relax. They can't see us. Besides, you'll miss the best part." She lets go of Sam's hand and holds him close, staring into his eyes. Neither minded when the ghosts passed through them.

"What is." Sam asked thickly. God did Emma look good.

"You'll see." Emma pulls Sam's head down and kisses him.

Sam smiled at the memory. He kissed girls before, but Emma was something else. It was only a brief fling, but that summer Sam never forgot. He went back downstairs, he was sure he heard Piper calling his name.

Sam overheard Dean bragging about the time he killed his first werewolf.

"You should have seen how scared Sammy was. He was just a baby, but Dad was so proud. He gave me my first beer when I was twelve."

"First beer?" Sam smirked. "I remember differently. He caught you taking a sip and forced you to down it. You puked hard afterwards." He saw how Dean turned bright red when everyone started laughing. "As for that werewolf, it was dying. He begged you to give him a mercy kill, and handed you his gun." Sam was surprised to know that werewolves got sick like humans did. It was rare but wasn't uncommon.

"Anyways. I could handle my alcohol now." Dean was on his eighth beer. "Babe? Mind if you make me a scotch neat?" He downed his beer.

Sam left the room with everyone else when Dean and Jenna started arguing.

"Just how drunk is he?" Piper saw Dean drink, but not to this excess.

"I'll take care of this." Wouldn't be the first time Dean was wasted. He holds Dean's shoulder. "Dean, it's getting late." Most of the party guests already left, it was close to midnight.

"I'm fine." Dean slurred. He shook his head. "Phew." Sam managed to catch Dean before he fell.

"Remember you promised to take Laura and Mel to the park tomorrow?"

"Oh yeah." Dean burped to Sam's amusement. "My kid and niece."

"Let's get you upstairs, and drink strong coffee tomorrow."

Later that night, once everyone was dead asleep from the party, Sam was lying in bed, thinking of where to take Mel tomorrow. He put his arm around his wife and falls asleep.

"Who was that guy?" Sam and Emma were walking back to her motorcycle, she was giving Sam a ride back to his room.

"I dunno." Emma shrugged. "All I know is he was more than some drug pusher. Bloody dolton that one." Either he made a Deal, or he dabbled in some dark things he shouldn't have. "He's gone, whatever empire he was running, it's over." Once Emma and Sam put away their guns, they drive away in Emma's cycle. "You thinking about stayin'?" Sam's application was approved to study overseas, Emma helped him with his applications. As a resident of Scotland, she offered to be his landlord while Sam was in the country.

"Maybe!" Sam was starting to get used to riding on a bike, he didn't even mind being the passenger. Plus it helped that he held tight to Emma's waist. "But do we have to have to work the entire time I'm here?!" Emma was driving normally to Sam's relief, but he hated yelling to talk to his new girlfriend.

"We won't always hunt! I'm not the only breaker in the country! I'm a student too! Believe me, we'll be doing more studying than hunting!"

Once they pull up to the residence halls, Emma and Sam hold hands walking back towards the dorms.

"You sure?" Sam was holding Emma in his arms, they were saying goodbye, the semester was over and he was flying back to the United States. "It's easy to forge documents." Sam wanted Emma to fly back with him.

"If I could I would." Emma was tempted, but she couldn't. She had too many responsibilities here. "I will miss you Winchester." She and Sam kiss deeply before he went through the gates. "I did promise you we won't hunt every day." Sam was surprised there was a secret organization that hunted monsters, when he asked Emma, all she said the school here was better than the one in England. "When you become a hot shot lawyer, come back and see me."

"Last call to New York!" The loudspeaker announces. Sam stared deeply into her eyes. For the first time in his life, he realized he was in love. "I will miss you."

"Me too." She tried and failed to cry. "Have a safe flight." The last few months were magical. She hated this.

"Goodbye Emma." Sam gave her one last kiss before he sprinted towards the gates.

"Yay!" Sam clapped as Mel proudly played with her new toy. "Say hi to the camera!" Mel was playing with a toy drum set.

Sam pushed the memories of Emma out of his head. He was very happy with his life, Piper and Mel was exactly what he needed.

"Please tell me you're not bringing that home?" Dean was on the other side of the park, he was nursing a hangover. Jenna and Laura were playing nearby, their nanny was close by keeping an eye on the kids.

"You wanted her in nursery school instead of Magic School, and they are very choosy with their applicants." Sam wasn't a fan of the drumset, but when Dean brought her that toy, he didn't want to break her heart. "Maybe we'll get lucky and she will lose interest."

"Let's hope." Piper takes some more pictures. "Kyra wrote me an email, she said Mel's application was approved." She and Sam were sitting on a park bench eating lunch, Mel was nearby sitting on a blanket.

"You don't want Mel in Magic School, but you are okay with her at Knox?" Sam was surprised. "Scotland is far." Knox was different from Magic School, they didn't turn away mortals. "You didn't tell me you applied there."

Piper shrugged.

"It's a fail-safe." She wasn't sure why she called Kyra, but she was thinking about Mel's future. "I want nothing more than to give her a normal life, but I don't need Phoebe's visions to see the future." She sighed. "I just want her safe." She sniffed when Sam hugged her.

"We will. I swear." Sam and Dean did not want Mel and Laura to have the lives they had, they hated the idea of them growing up on the road. However, they weren't naive. They knew they needed to be careful. "Whatever you want, I'll support you and Mel."

They were interrupted by Jenna who was waving over.

"We still have time, let's see what's so interesting."

"Sam."

"Emma?" Sam couldn't see through the red fog. "Where are you?"

"Hurry Sam." Emma whispered. When she turned around, her face was nothing but death.

"Sam! Sam!" Piper was shaking him awake. They were in the air, they were flying to Heathrow Airport in London, England.

"Wha?" That was a dream?

"It's a little early for jet lag." Piper says. They were sitting together, little Mel sandwiched between them. They were on the way to Scotland to see Kyra about Mel's possible schooling. They were flying, and neither wanted to use magic to alert their enemies. "You alright?" Sam was twitching in his sleep.

"I'm fine." Sam didn't want to mention Emma. They were flying to London to pick up a package first before taking a train to Scotland. "How long before we land?"

A few days later Sam was looking at the box. It was held all this time for Sam, Emma must have spent a fortune on storage fees. He didn't know why he hid this from his wife, he promised he would never keep any secrets.

Piper wasn't here, she was at Knox with Mel and Kyra. Sam declined to come, he said he wasn't feeling well. Piper was disappointed but understood. Sam didn't look so well. They were staying in one of the dorms, Kyra said it was empty during the summer months.

"Well, it's now or never." Sam and Emma made a pact years ago. If one of them was in trouble, the other would seek each other out. Guess it was Emma that needed him. Sam opened the box.

A gun? A map of Europe with the coastlines lined in red, an old flip phone with a UK charger, books about fairy tales and tables, and a plane ticket? Sam looked at the date.

It was dated two days from now. The ticket was bought three years ago.

"Emma. What are you trying to tell me?"

"A rental locker? What for?" Sam couldn't figure Emma out. She spent a small fortune for a locker for one box.

"Think of it as insurance. If anything goes wrong, this box has everything you need." Emma shuts the gate, but not before using various spells to lock it before putting the padlock on. "It's for you."

"What about if I was in trouble?" Sam was disappointed Emma didn't share what was in that box.

"Then I'll find you. Just write." Emma wraps her arms around Sam. "Then I'll know you are a true breaker."

Sam didn't know what to do. If Emma went out of his way to buy a ticket for Sam, why hide it? Plus his wife. Piper would kill him for keeping secrets. He picked up Emma's picture. She was older, but still so beautiful. Sam squashed the tickle in his heart seeing her face.

"Sam?" Sam jumped hearing Piper's voice. He quickly puts Emma's picture back in one of the books.

"How was the tour?" He pushed the memories of Emma down.

He forced himself to listen to Piper's voice, she was telling him how impressed she was with Knox's Nursery Program.

"It's so normal. Unlike Magic School, she doesn't expect any students to perform magic at such a young age. Other than a few kids, most sat around listening to fairy tales and painting."

"Really. Sounds like it would be perfect for Mel. Except." Sam lifts Mel out of her stroller. "I don't think I would be able to let her go. Not till she's thirty at least." He tickles her making her laugh.

"You too?" Piper was relieved. "I know this place is the best place for her, she gets the best of two worlds. But; I can't. Our daughter needs her family."

"Yea." Sam looks lovingly at his wife. "Want to get lunch? I'm starving." He was glad the gun and maps were still in the box. He especially didn't want her to see his ticket.

The town was beautiful, Montgomery Knox sure picked a good place to build his school back in the day. Sam watched as the groundskeepers cleaned the graffiti off the buildings. Not many students were around, with the exception of summer classes. He breathed the Scottish air, unlike San Francisco, this place was fresh and clean. He wondered where Piper was, they were eating lunch when Headmistress Kyra fetched Piper, claiming she needed her for an emergency. Mel stayed with Sam who was watching the summer students performing magic.

"When you get older, you can do that too." Sam hoped that she didn't start her magic too early. He looked at his watch. "How long does a emergency take? Hope she's okay." When he saw Piper walking out of the building, he waves her over. "Is everything alright?" He hoped it wasn't demons.

"Oh, everything's fine. The Head Cook's wife went into early labor, and the junior cooks didn't know what to do. Good thing I'm a chef." Kyra asked Piper to stay for a few days, teaching the cooks American-Styled foods. The students were getting tired of European cooking every day. "She's offering me good pay."

"How long?" They paid for their flights, but their stay was free thanks to Kyra.

"A few days, maybe a week? Guess I won't see you for awhile." Cooking wasn't Piper's only problem.

"What do you mean?" Sam saw a maintenance worker walking by. A vampire? Sam shrugged. Kyra didn't discriminate against anyone.

"You didn't hear?" Piper was disappointed that this wasn't an ordinary trip. Figures her job was never done.

"What." Sam hoped it wasn't what he thought it was.

"There's been demonic attacks around the coast of Europe."

"Really." Emma must have known. "How long?"

"Three months." Piper sighed. "Kyra, she didn't ask me just to cook. She wants me and my sisters to hunt demons."

"What about Mel?" Sam didn't want her hurt. "I can't watch her if I'm expecting to hunt." No way was he doing that. He heard stories that a four year old Dean was forced to babysit him as a baby.

"Dad's flying in with Phoebe. They'll be here tonight."

"You need me to call Dean?" Sam wasn't sure Dean would want to come, he hated leaving his family behind. "Wouldn't the Men of Letters be better suited for this?" Sam knew that they took care of things in Europe. "And what about Paige?"

"Paige is a whitelighter, she can be here in a second."

"Right." She was still a rookie cop, unlike Phoebe, she still had a job.

"Plus something else." Piper sighed. "The London Chapter. They're dead." What Kyra told her, that things were starting to go bad.

"When." Sam hated those bastards. They kidnapped Dean and Paige.

"This morning. Kendricks is gone too. The London Chapter House exploded, there were no survivors." Piper read the news online. Reports said there was a gas explosion. But she knew better. Whoever took them down, hunters must have done the same things Sam and everyone else did years ago.

"And the students?" Sam wasn't sure what went on there, but he heard stories that in order to graduate, it was required that each student hunt each other, with less than a dozen graduating in the end.

"Kyra's looking into it. But she believes the school was empty. England usually doesn't start its holidays till late July, but the early summer got too hot for the school to run, so they sent every student home for the summer." Piper picks up Mel. "But she wants us to make sure."

"So what do you need me to do."

"Every witch and hunter are on high alert. Mel will be staying here with Dad, while we hunt demons. It's getting really bad. We need to cut the number of monsters down."

"Dammit." Sam didn't want this. "So we'll be here for awhile."

"Yep. Phoebe and Paige already took care of the Manor, Cole will be watching over it."

"Cole?" They must be desperate. "Why us?" Sam knew why. The Charmed Ones were the strongest witches in the world. Plus he and Dean were legends in the hunting community.

"Guess she needed the best. I already called Jenna, she promised to keep an eye on things back home. She and Laura are heading to Boston with Dean. Dean says he will come if needed."

"Looks like you already thought it through. Do you want me to check with the hunters in England?" Sam saw a young woman watching them. When she noticed Sam looking at her, she looked away.

"Well, since my sister will be here, Kyra wants someone to check out what happened in London. I already called the airline, apparently, someone made the arrangements." Piper looked at Sam with suspicion.

Sam swallowed. Before he could say a word they were interrupted by the same young woman who was watching them earlier.

"Mrs Winchester?" The blonde woman looked embarrassed interrupting their private conversation. "Kyra, she says she needs to see you again."

"I'll be right there." Piper picks up Mel. "Sam. You better pack light. Your plane leaves in a few hours."

"What about Mel?" No way was he putting her in danger. Mel needed him.

"I can watch her Mr Winchester."

"You remember Ann?" Piper was surprised to see her, she remembered her as Chris' lost friend. "She's a experienced hunter, as well as Kyra's vice principal."

"Ann. Ann." Sam was trying to rack his brains. "Right." Sam remembered she was Jenna's biggest fan. "No offense, but I don't remember you."

"That's good, I'm glad you don't trust me. But Kyra and everyone here can vouch for me. I promise you, your family will be well protected here, this place is secure against evil."

"Well..." Sam wasn't sure.

"Look, I want peace just as you do. If I could I'll be hunting too. But I need to be here just in case those students come here."

Sam knew next to nothing about that academy, but according to what he heard from Arthur Ketch, the students were trained assassins. Even so, they were just kids.

"Be careful." Sam will kill anyone that hurts his family, hopefully, he didn't have to deal with getting his hands dirty.

"I can easily freeze. Besides Magic School can take a few students." Kyra already called the Principal who agreed to send summer school students to help with the attacks. She takes Mel out of Sam's arms. "Better get going."

"I will." Sam kisses his wife and daughter. "Call me the moment anything goes wrong."

"Why are you interested in old folk tales?" Sam and Emma just finished slaughtering a nest of shifters. Luckily there weren't very many. "Fairy Tales are fictional anyways." Sam spent his whole life in the supernatural, but he never once saw a happily ever after.

"Didn't your pa ever tell ya that all fairy tales come from a source? The difference from fact and fiction, is the true tales are full of blood and death." She agreed to get a car after Sam's protests about her driving. She followed Sam to the car and sat in the passenger seat.

"Trust me. Bobby read those to us growing up." A young Sam was disillusioned about the stories, he often wished Bobby stuck to the kid-friendly editions. "I never heard of a selkie." They spent the last few weeks hunting along the shores hunting a certain sea creature only known as a 'selkie.'

"You could have used the internet." Emma suggested. She checks her gun to see if she had any silver bullets left. "Let's just say if you're not around these parts, you most likely never experience one in your life." She and Sam were dating these last few months, it was nice to be in an honest relationship. "These things, they are often mistaken for a mermaid or a siren. They prefer water, but can easily live on land. They can appear as a beautiful woman and seduce men with harmonious voices."

"What's the difference? Are they killers?" Sam had no idea if mermaids existed, as for sirens, Bobby warned not to encounter one alone.

"Not always. Legends say the selkie comes to the shores to mate. Always appearing as a beautiful woman, they seduce human men to get pregnant. Once they mate, they stay on land to raise their children as humans."

"Is that a bad thing?" Sam remembered his childhood friend Amy, she wasn't exactly human, but had a good heart.

Emma shrugged.

"They're not human Sam." She clocks her gun. "There were a few dead bodies found these last few months. Police say all were accidental since all were found with water in their lungs, however, every guy was found dug up with tracks from the sea."

"Good enough for me." Sam squeezes her hand. "So how do we find this thing."

Sam was exhausted. He was grateful that he rode a plane instead of a train, but once he got to a hotel, he didn't have time to relax for a few hours. Instead, he threw down his duffle and immediately left the hotel to meet with Emma.

"Emma?" He wondered why she sent him all the way here, a run-down trailer in the middle of nowhere. Hearing a noise behind him, he immediately uses his taser on the intruder.

"Hissssss." An ugly grey-looking creature was baring its teeth at Sam.

"Die ugly." Sam grabs his knife and stabs the creature in the head killing it instantly. After making sure the creature was truly dead, Sam cuts off its head and throws it out of the trailer. "Emma?" He steps over the dead creature to look around for Emma's whereabouts. "What is this?" The tiny trailer had newspaper clippings dating over twenty years ago.

'David McCloud, age 45 found dead. Wife and two kids missing.'

'Vincent Walsh, age 30 dies by suicide.'

'Niall Smith, age 24 missing.'

Plus so many others. Sam looked at every name, every one was from Scotland.

"Why did you send me all the way here?" Every news article was Scottish. Sam dug around the trailer looking for clues. He knew Emma wouldn't have sent him here without a good reason. He looked closely at every article, there had to be a pattern. Aha! There it was. Sam ripped the paper off the wall, but not before using his lighter to set this place ablaze. He wasn't worried about Emma being angry her trailer was being destroyed, it didn't seem like anyone ever lived here, except for that monster. He quickly leaves, he only had a short amount of time to catch up to Emma.

"Arghhh!" Sam kicked the vampire away, but not before chanting a spell. Ever since the MoL was destroyed, monsters were coming in full force to hunt humans. Too bad none were expected to run into witches. "Creaturae tenebrarum die."

The vampires screamed as their heads exploded like melons. Sam helped up the cowering girl.

"You okay?" The redhead was trembling.

"Yes. Thank you." She saw the heads explode. "How?"

"Better not to know." Sam nodded at the fellow witch who ran into Sam. "Take her to Magic School." Sam wasn't sure if she was a witch, but even if she wasn't, the school had amnesia spells. Once they left, Sam looked around the vampire hideout for another one of Emma's clues. "Seriously?" Sam looked carefully at anything unusual, other than a few electronics, nothing stood out. Knowing time was running out, Sam cast a spell. When he saw a spot on a vampire's body glowing, Sam immediately checks it out. It was a tattoo of a thistle flower. "You sent me here for that?" Sam took a picture. When Sam's phone started ringing, he quickly answers it. "Hello?"

"Sam?" He recognized the voice, unfortunately, it wasn't Emma.

"Hi honey. Is everything alright?" Sam cast a spell to get rid of the bodies.

"So far. Phoebe and I are helping, but even if Paige orbs in, Knox is holding their own. Kyra's fairie teacher is a tough bastard. He must have beaten to death ten feral wolves with his bare hands." Sam and Piper watched a sparing match with him once, that giant orge never stood a chance against him.

"And Mel?" Sam hoped she was okay.

"She's fine. The nursery is tougher than Fort Knox. A shifter tried sneaking in disguised as a teacher, she was immediately roasted the moment she touched the doorknob."

Both Sam and Piper laugh.

"Good." Sam filled Piper in, omitting the parts about Emma.

"I never would've thought I'll miss the Men of Letters." They did a great job protecting England and the surrounding countries even though they were considered enemies. "But Kyra is ready to take over, and no student will be forced to kill one another to graduate." They chatted for a few minutes before they hung up.

"I'll be back as soon as I can." Once Sam and Piper say goodbye, Sam looked closely at the tattoo. 'That's the national flower of Scotland.' If she was in Scotland this whole time, why send him all over the place? Sam cleaned up the area by using another spell, and before he left he left a clue for her. 'If you ever need me, you'll know.'

"Ye sure Winchester?" Sam was telling her about his application for permanent residence. They were laying in bed relaxing after a long night of work.

"It's cheaper to live here, plus I like the lifestyle." They were cuddling in bed. "I could actually concentrate on school instead of hunting twenty-four-seven." Although he and John barely talked those days, he and Dean expected Sam to drop everything if they needed him. ''Plus I have something to look forward to."

Emma kisses him back. She felt the same way.

"I love you too." Sam pulls her closer. "Round two?" He pushed the thought of Dean away. He and John didn't need him anymore.

It took Sam a while to find Emma, she didn't come home last night.

"There you are!" Sam knew she hunted nights, but wished she'll call. "Next time take me with you." He hated her hunting alone. "Em?" She was dead quiet. She was sitting on a beach watching the waves.

Emma sighed.

"Is everything alright?" Sam sat down beside her. "Brr. It's chilly." Christmas was on the way, and Sam was looking forward to spending a real Christmas with his girlfriend. He already bought her a present. "Emma? What's wrong?" He saw her crying.

Emma quickly wipes away her tears. She didn't want Sam to see her as weak.

"I have something to tell you." Emma hated this. "I been called for a job."

"No problem. I'll keep an eye on things then." Hunting was easy, Sam was surprised to hear there was a secret organization that took care of things. When he asked Emma who they were, she said she didn't know. "Unless you want me to come along." Sam was getting bored.

Emma shook her head. This was the hardest decision she ever had to do.

"I can't." She shook her head.

"Can't what." He touches her cheek. "You're so cold!" He takes off his scarf and wraps it around her neck.

Emma sighed.

"It's more than another job. I...have to leave. For good."

"Move? Then I'll come with." He can take a gap year.

Emma shook her head.

"It's more than that. Sam. I can't see you anymore." She starts crying.

Sam was in disbelief.

"You're dumping me?" They just spent the entire week together decorating their small flat. "Why?"

Emma sniffed.

"I don't want you putting your life on hold because of me." She looked out of the sea, the waves crashing on the shores. "And I can't put mine to the side either."

Sam didn't say a word. They had a whirlwind relationship, but they were the happiest they had ever been.

"I already called the airline, there's seats left. You can see your family for Christmas."

"Spending another holiday with a bucket of extra crispy with a drunk old man? No thanks." He figured Dean would rather spend his holiday getting laid. "I'll study instead." He looked at Emma's face. "How long were you out here?" She was shivering.

"All night." Emma looked at Sam. "I'm sorry. But it's over." She got up and handed Sam back his scarf. "It has been a great ride."

"Yes it has." Sam's heart was hollow. "So what now?"

"Clean out the flat. Can't travel with furniture on a job."

"Yeah." Sam sighed. "I'll miss you."

"Me too." Emma stands up and wipes the sand off her butt. "Remember our promise about finding each other if the other needed them?" It was their insurance, if one was lost while hunting, the other will seek the other.

"Yeah." Sam already rented his locker. Didn't have much, just a few weapons and journals Sam kept with clues only Emma knew. "What about them."

"If one of us is in trouble, the other will seek them. If I need you. I'll find a way to contact you. And you can do the same thing."

"And if both are in trouble?" Sam knew deep down that their relationship had an expiration date, he didn't think it would be this soon.

"Let's hope that doesn't happen. Sam." She takes his head in her hands and gives him a goodbye kiss. "Till we meet again."

"Ditto." They kiss long and deep. "Take care, Emma of the Isles."

A beach. This was the last place he and Emma ever saw one another. Kinda poetic in a way, that she sent him here. Sam was back in Scotland, he took a train instead of a plane this time around. He already called Piper who said things on her end was doing OK, she and Kyra managed to get things under control, thanks to Magic School who agreed to help. She told Sam once things were back to normal she wanted to go home.

But until Sam finds Emma, he couldn't go back. Not yet.

"Emma!" He called out. She wasn't seen, but Sam knew she was here. "Em! It's me! Sam Winchester!" Nothing but the sounds of the crashing waves. It was dark, but Sam wasn't afraid. Carrying his taser, he walks down the beach, hoping for answers.

Sam tensed hearing a noise. Before he could take out his taser to attack, he found himself getting dragged into the cold ocean.

Stanford University, Freshman Year

Sam was studying his law book, his first exam was coming up in a few days. As usual, the campus was empty during finals, except for the few that were studying outside.

"Hey!" Sam glared at the thief. "Give that back!"

Dean laughs. Holding the book away from Sam.

"Really? You're such a geek!" He holds the book further away from Sam's hands.

"Seriously Dean. Unlike you, I care about my future." He was so glad he had long arms and grabs the book out of Dean's hands. "What are you doing here?" His old apartment, he was surprised John was living in it as well.

"I was going to ask you for a beer to clear your mind, but I have a better idea."

"Can't it wait?" Sam knew the material, but he hated to be disturbed.

"Three dead fishermen were found dead. Dusted into bone powder by the docks."

"So tell Dad. You two had weirder cases." Sam and John were slowly building up their relationship after New York, but they still had a long way to go.

"Can't. He's in Colorado hunting a wendigo. You're my last option."

"Very funny. I assume San Francisco?" Palo Alto was in the county, Sam lived alone in a dorm.

"Yeah. But that isn't the weird part. A mermaid was seen swimming in the area." That made Sam look up. "A mermaid." Instantly he remembered Emma's book. "I thought those were legends." Sam never believed in them, according to every hunter he met, mermaids were fairy tales. But according to Emma, sea creatures existed.

Dean shrugged.

"That's not the only thing. Witnesses say a weird-looking man was seen in the area. He was shooting lightning bolts out of his hands."

"I need a break anyways." He wondered if Emma knew about these things. "So FBI?"

"The medical examiner concluded three men were dusted into thin air? Without no witnesses or security tapes." Three piles of dust would have been easy to miss, San Francisco's Ports weren't exactly clean. "It hasn't even been three days." Three men were missing, last time they were seen was in the docks collecting their catch. "Witch?" Sam heard rumors that there were witches living in the city, good witches, but when he asked John, all he said the hunting community was more diverse than Sam knew.

"Maybe." They just finished talking to the medical examiner. "He was baffled till Scotland Yard called. Said there was a serial killer that killed his victims by grounding their bones into dust." Dean was stumped himself. "The bone fragments matched the missing fisherman."

"And the mermaid?" Sam rolled his eyes at Dean's expression.

"Bet she's hot." Dean had a huge crush on Ariel as a little boy, he often paused the scene where Ariel had human legs for the first time, hoping he saw something bare. "Mmm."

"Hope you don't mind a large fin then." They walk back to the Impala. Sam wondered if Emma called from Scotland, letting Sam know she was okay.

Sam sputtered waking up on a beach. Feeling the sunshine on his face, he wondered how long he slept.

'Feel like I slept on rocks.' Sam's body was killing him. Where was he? He gets up and stretches. It was dark when he came here last night, but he was sure this wasn't the same stretch of beach. He looked around, hoping he wasn't lost. "Where am I?" He went to grab his phone then realizes he didn't have it on him. "Great." Either he was robbed, or he lost it in the ocean. Good thing he was a witch.

"Reperio perditus factus est anima mea."

A light appeared in front of Sam, creating a path. If Emma was lost, Sam would find her in no time. He was determined to figure this mystery out once and for all.

It took him an hour to reach his destination. On top of a hill was a rundown car with a tiny trailer attached. When he saw a familiar face sitting on top of a hill, he slowly approached her.

"That's far enough Winchester." Emma was holding a sniper, she was looking over the cliff.

"Emma." All these years, and she still took his breath away. Sam immediately squelched those thoughts, he wasn't nineteen anymore. "Why send me all over the place?" His younger self spent months trying to get over her. It wasn't until Jessica that he felt ready to move on.

Emma turned around, she was older, but still very beautiful to Sam's discomfort.

"I had to make sure it was really you. Sam. I need help."

Sam instantly got angry.

"I spent a long time getting over you, and you have the nerve to..." He shut up when Emma put her finger on his lips.

"Hate me after. The attacks, they are the last thing we have to worry about."

Sam's anger turned into confusion.

"What are you talking about?" Piper, Kyra, the Charmed Ones, plus countless others were all fighting out there.

Emma sighed.

"I've been hunting. Even after you left, because that's all I've ever known. I wanted to write to you several times, but since you told me about your childhood, I didn't want you to live like that as a adult." Emma touched Sam's face. "I'm sorry."

"We'll talk about this later. The attacks. What is going on? And why are you carrying a gun?" He's been around guns his whole life, that gun was recently fired.

"Inside." Emma leads Sam to her trailer.

"Em-"

"Shh." Emma closes her curtains and turns on her stereo, Wagner's Lohengrin Prelude Act III starts blasting. "Can't risk anyone listening."

Sam knew Emma well, she rarely got scared. Those packs of Hellhounds? Just another job. But the way she was trembling, she was clearly nervous. He took a quick glance at the floor, there were empty bottles of scotch everywhere.

"Emma. What's going on?" When she started pacing back and forth, Sam wondered what she was thinking about.

"I been hunting. Selkies. I'm sure you read about those."

"Those seal-like creatures? Yeah." The tales weren't as well known as other fairy tales, but short version, a selkie was captured by a fisherman, and when the seal-like skin fell off, it transformed into a beautiful woman. The fisherman was so enamored, he immediately took the creature home and made her his wife. Even after they had children many years later, the selkie always looked at the sea, homesick. Her children, knowing how heartbroken their mother was being locked up by their father, found her skin and returned her to the sea, the selkie forever grateful to be back home. But when Sam did his research, he found out it was the females who voluntarily moved to land. Many living their remaining years as human women. "I thought they were harmless."

"Kinda. But if you keep one against their will, good luck." Emma sat down and poured a scotch. "It's the males that are hurting people. Unlike females, male selkies are feral and unpredictable. Plus they can't transform. I been hunting the mingers since." Emma read about those drownings and figured they were killing the female selkies' mates. Like female selkies, they hum a haunting tune to lure their victims to them. "But that's not why I sent you away." She poured another glass for Sam. "I had to make sure it was really you." Emma downed her drink.

"Emma. What's really going on?" Her expression, Sam couldn't tell what she was thinking about.

"I wanted to make sure you were safe. I know you are a witch, I been keeping tabs. But even your wife can never know what I'm going to tell you." Emma looked scared. "I found something. A key."

"A key."

Emma shook her head.

"It isn't a typical key. I never seen anything like it. Sam." She takes his hand. "Don't let anyone get their hands on it. Not even your brother, your wife. No one."

"Emma. What are you talking about?" When Emma stood up and clocked her gun, Sam immediately follows suit and holds up his gun as well.

"Go. I can handle things here. Sam." She kisses him on the cheek. "Good luck." Only when Sam heard noises outside he saw Emma open a window and start shooting. "There are still attacks, and not just from selkies."

"I'll call my brother." Sam kicked the door open on the seal-like creature's face and shot it dead. "Dean's looking forward to a good fight."

Sam never saw so many creatures. Even with Emma shooting, Sam knew she couldn't take them all.

"Cape istas creaturas malas ab oculis meis."

The selkies howled as they disintegrated.

"Ye zany bastart!" Emma was impressed. "You're better than John Wayne!"

Sam waves goodbye.

"We'll meet up again in a few days!" Sam hoped Jenna didn't mind him taking Dean away again.

Two days later, Sam greets Dean in his room.

"Wouldn't Kyra's be better?" Dean didn't mind going to Scotland, he always liked the food. "Where's Sis? Mel?"

"With family." Sam already filled Piper in, telling her about meeting with a local hunter. "I need your help, we're getting overwhelmed."

"Say no more. Jen wasn't happy I was leaving again, especially when she told me she was pregnant." He saw Sam's face change from worried to happy.

"I'm going to be an uncle again?" Sam hugs his brother. "When?"

"A few weeks. But she wants to keep it a secret."

"There's a pub downstairs. Let's celebrate."

Sam didn't know why he spilled his guts about Emma, but after the fourth drink, he needed to get his secret off his chest.

"She must've been some chick. Does Sis know?" Dean had no idea there was someone before Jess, Sam's former college girlfriend.

"Not yet. But Dean. If you ever saw her, you'll understand." Sam knew Dean wouldn't judge.

"She's pretty. I get it."

"Very funny." Sam gestures for the check. "Whatever Emma and I had, it's over. Piper is the one." Sam will always have Emma in his heart, but only as a memory. "You read the articles I sent you?" Sam emailed Dean about the going ons in England and Scotland.

"You mean those dicks going down?" Dean winks at a pretty wench who blushes. He always dreamed about the Men of Letters going out of business. Once they pay the bill, they walk out.

"Already called Piper, she believes they were assassinated. Kyra thinks they found out something, and their killers wanted to shut them up."

"Couldn't be easy. The Men of Letters are very well trained." Dean still had PTSD from being locked up. "Must be an inside hit." Demons, angels, monsters, none could step inside the main bases.

"Maybe." Were they all killed because of this 'key?' Sam wondered.

"I never been to this part of the country. Crowley, Rowena. Wonder if they lived around here?" Dean picked up a stone and absently throws it.

"Maybe." Sam looked around in thought.

"What's going on Sam?" Dean knew Sam's expression all too well.

"The entire time we were drinking, you see any customers come in?"

"Come to think about it, no." Dean noticed how quiet the town was. "Are small towns usually this empty?" Where are the cars? The people?

"I never seen a seagull. Not once." Sam strained his ears. Not even wind. "Emma, she hunts, and I don't think she ever took a break since we met."

"Never heard of a Breaker, but Bobby always said every country has their own dialect. Is it a good thing or bad thing that there are hunters all over the world." No wonder Kyra's school existed. The founder must have wanted new hunters to be well-trained instead of being thrown randomly into the Life. "These selkies. They're like mermaids?" Dean was disappointed. "How do we find them?"

"It's a big ocean out there." These towns are all remote. The female selkies must have taken over and their male counterparts must have murdered their human mates out of jealousy or survival. "Their children, they must be purebloods." Sam was kicking himself for not asking about the selkie/human hybrids. "I been doing my research and don't know much about them, lore is very small. But I did read old history records dating back to the seventeen hundreds. This town used to be huge. It was a very busy port. Same with several others along the coast."

"I assume things changed." Dean followed Sam to a old car and gets in.

"Yea. The female selkies must have moved to town. The legend of the fisherman says he took one as a wife, and had kids. The tale ends with the selkie returning to the ocean when her kids returned her 'skin' and the story ends there."

"What happened to the kids? They were half human." Dean was wondering the same thing.

"I'm going to ask Emma about that." They drive away to Emma's location.

"You sure she is here?" Dean was looking in the old trailer. "It looks abandoned."

"I hope she is okay." Sam saw the empty bottles. His eyes go to the two glasses. Hearing scratches outside, both take out their guns. "On three, one, two." Sam throws the door open and starts shooting. "Dean!"

"Sammy get down!" Dean shoots an ugly-looking grey creature in the head. "Bullets work." Seeing that one creature scouting means there must be many more. Sure enough, dozens came out of the shadows. "Stay close." The creatures were doing a pincer attack.

BANG! BANG!

The sounds of gunshots echo in the night. Sam and Dean take turns shooting, one keeping an eye on the other if someone needed to reload.

"Just how many are they?" Dean always carried extra bullets, but with every monster they took down, two more came. "Can't you use your magic?" He shot at one that came too close.

"Magic isn't like using a gun. It's a lot of mental concentration." Sam shot another in the face. "It's a huge ocean." They were getting overrun.

"Heads up!" Emma blasts a selkie in the chest.

"About time!" Dean was getting tired. He was about to take out his knife for hand-to-hand combat.

While she and Dean shoot, Sam closed his eyes and concentrated on a spell. Sure enough, the selkies retreat.

"Phew." Emma puts down her shotgun. "Dean I assume?" They shake hands. "You Americans and your names."

"I would say the same about yours." Dean smirked at Crowley's former name, he was from Scotland too. "Are you a princess?"

"Sam told ya? You try living with it." She sat down on the trailer's steps.

"Is that all of them?" Sam felt so sorry for her. Emma looked so exhausted.

"For now." Emma closed her eyes. "I could really use a drink." She thanked Dean when he handed her a flask.

"I had to buy it from the airport, but it's a taste of home." Dean took a sip as well.

"No thanks." Sam declined a drink. "Have you been here this whole time?"

Emma nodded.

"You seen my gun." Her sniper rifle was inside. "It's usually not this bad, I watch this cliff for stragglers sometimes." She looks into Sam's eyes. "Remember what I told you earlier?"

"Yea." This so-called 'key.' Sam was careful not to say anything in front of Dean. He saw Dean's eyebrow raise. "How many usually come out of the ocean?"

"Not that many at once. Usually, it's only a few a year. Most prefer to stay in the ocean."

"But." Sam saw Dean looking back and forth.

"They are drawn to something. Or someone." She looks deeply in Sam's eyes. "I hadn't been entirely honest with you." She sighed. "I been here, waiting for my mum."

"Dean!" Dean was holding up his gun.

"She isn't human Sam!" He holds a gun to her head. "How long have you been hunting for my brother, huh? Hey!" Sam holds Dean's gun.

"Didn't Knox teach you anything? Witches used to be hunted. Hunting isn't black and white. Besides. The sun is up." Sure enough, sunshine was peeking out.

"I don't blame you for not trusting me." She stands up. "I'll make coffee for you both." She goes in the trailer.

Once all three were sitting down with hot cups, Emma tells her story.

"You read the legends right? It's the same with mermaids. We come here to be you. Being human, that's what we desire."

"Mermaids." Dean heard of them, he heard rumors there was one living somewhere in San Francisco. "So your kind is cousins in a way."

"Yea. Like mermaids, we can live our entire lives on the shores. We don't hurt people, not usually. Only when we're threatened."

"What changed?" Sam wasn't sure what to think.

"It was when someone found out about us. The males, they only come to shore at night to feed. Usually small birds and fish. They envy the females, they cannot transform to blend in and are forced to stay in the water. They usually don't kill anyone, unlike most monsters, they like to stay hidden."

"But something happened." Dean wondered what else was out there.

"Honestly? I don't know. Those drownings? They were descendants of the original hybrids. The selkies we just fought. They were just following orders."

"From your mother."

Emma nodded.

"Like mermaids, we have a very long life span. Sam, I'm older than you, way older."

"Okay." She was the same person; either way, Sam still cared about her.

"If you're wondering, I made sure I took every precaution." She saw Sam's worried face.

"Good. I hate to hunt my nieces or nephews." Dean teased.

Sam smiled.

"You're still a good person. Em. About your mom."

"Birth mother." Emma corrected. "I was raised by Breakers since they found me crying on the beach. They could have killed me, but they didn't. They gave me that name." Emma was always so embarrassed about it, but over time learned to embrace it. "I been hunting since."

"Why would your mother kill her own kind? Or any humans?" Sam was fascinated by her story.

"Like humans, we have our extremists. Mother, she hated the fact we were leaving our ancestral home behind. She wanted us to go back to the old ways, being at war with all species, humans included. I killed her last night." Emma says grimly.

"So that means..." Sam wondered if Emma would be forced to fight.

"I'm the new Mother." Emma asked for Dean's flask. "Thanks." Once she took a sip. "I been hunting down all the extremists. But it's a long road. Mother, she's been around. Thankfully the attacks are only in these areas, but it won't be long before it spreads."

"The New Mother." Dean was confused. "Does that mean that you..."

"It's not like royalty. You don't become a leader based on inheritance. It's more like military ranks. Since I'm the strongest and oldest on land, I'm the chosen one. Before you ask, I don't have to give birth to be the Mother. I just have to lead." Emma was getting a headache.

"Since you're the leader, can't you command them to stop?" Dean asked.

"If it was that easy, would I be doing this? My brothers and sisters, they didn't deserve to die." Emma's voice cracked.

"So our meeting." Sam didn't know what to think.

"Purely coincidental. I was doing research, then you walked into my life." She smiled at Sam. "Those three months, those were the happiest I've ever been." She remembered meeting the tall American. "Your wife. She's a lucky woman."

"So that's why we broke up." Emma must have wanted to protect him. No wonder she sent him back on that plane.

"Yep. The other selkies, they wanted to breed with you, since they saw you and I together."

Sam couldn't keep a straight face. Once Emma saw him chuckling, Dean followed suit. Soon enough all three were laughing hard.

"Those wouldn't be selkies, those would be moose's!" Dean laughed. "Imagine that!"

Emma giggled at the image.

"At least I'll know what not to hit!" Selkies were of average height. A tall selkie would have immediately been under her protection.

"Kyra would have taken them in." Sam chuckled. "No wonder you insisted on precautions." Even if something went sideways, Sam would have stepped up, monster or not. They sat together not saying anything else about it.

Once the coffee was done, Sam stands up.

"Nightfall won't be for a few hours. We have time to kill." Emma had an arsenal of weapons, but having a witch around would make things easier.

"I have to call my wife. Dean, can I borrow your phone?" Piper must be worried sick. "Thanks." He went outside for privacy.

While Sam was talking, Dean asked about the other attacks.

"For a long time, monsters weren't that bad around here. The humans did a good job keeping things under control. But maybe too good. Mother, I think she witnessed one killing my father. Who was human." She closed her eyes. "I think it broke her. Once I was born, she left me to die, skin attached and everything. I was lucky I was found by my adoptive family." Emma remembered how distrustful they were, she was young but still looked like a selkie. Luckily her skin shedded once she hit puberty, and they started training her to be a breaker. "I been hunting since." Her skin, Emma always suppressed it.

"I'm sorry." Dean hunted his whole life. Like Emma, John was too busy with work. He tried not to judge her, but the hunting instinct was deeply ingrained. It took him years not to hate witches.

"It's okay if you don't trust me. I'm a stranger to you. But Sam, I always cared about him."

"I know." Dean saw how Sam looked at her. He was sure Piper would accept her as a friend.

"He's happy isn't he?" Emma always regretted letting him go, but it was for the best. She looked out the window and saw him smiling. Once Sam hung up, she and Dean looked up.

"Piper and Kyra are getting things under control. Not all the Men of Letters were killed, some were on the field when their headquarters blew up. They agreed to work as free agents." Sam didn't trust them, but they needed all help they can get.

"And the kids?" She heard about a school academy that burnt down in England.

"The school was closed because of the weather. Officials think it was accidental. Every student is counted for." Sam hoped they returned to a normal life, most were orphaned kids.

"That's good." She felt the warm sunshine. "I'm getting some sleep. There's a small village close by here, and before you ask, it's full of normal people." There was one breaker that lived in town, he kept an eye on things. "It will be busy tonight, I suggest you rest."

On cue, Dean yawned.

"I had a long flight. Plus I'm starving." Dean's stomach growled.

"Same here." Sam needed sleep.

"It ends tonight." Emma swore. "Sam. Take care. You too Squirrel."

Sam smirked at Dean's face.

"Tch. Come on Bullwinkle." He and Sam drive away.

Sam and Emma were watching an old cartoon of Rocky and Bullwinkle.

"I always liked that moose. Reminds me of someone I know." Emma snuggled closer in Sam's arms.

"Me too. But Rocky is a good sidekick." He holds his girlfriend closer.

"How was your exam?" Finals were over, she and Sam were exhausted.

"I'm pretty sure I passed." This was their final night together, Sam was going back to the States tomorrow. "You?"

"Same." They tried to pretend it wasn't over, but they both knew it was. "Sam?"

"Mmm?" Sam always loved her dark hair, although she admitted she dyed it.

"When you get back, are you going to stay in school?" She knew Sam wanted a normal life.

"Of course. I can't hunt forever." Sam knew John was pissed Sam chose to go to school instead of hunting, but he wondered if he was secretly happy Sam was living as a normal man.

"Graduate, get married, have a career, pop out some kids." She laughed at his expression. Sam's face was pink. "I'm sure you'll make some girl happy."

"Maybe." He looks into her eyes. "Promise me, you'll get out." Emma deserved to be happy too.

"I'll try." She and Sam start kissing. "I love you Sam."

"I love you too. My Emma of the Isles."

Later that night, all three were armed and ready. Sam had his spell ready, but only as a last resort. He was scared to hurt Emma.

"Okay. You too will stay hidden. Shoot any that gets too close. I'll be at my position, taking shots." Her mother's colony was almost dead. This would be the final wave of attacks. "Don't come out till I tell you to." Emma had her guns ready. "Ready. Here they come." Even in the dark water, she saw movement. "Stay safe."

BAM!

"Here we go Sammy. Tomorrow all three of us can go to Kyra's. I'm sure she'll hire Emma." Dean liked her, she reminded him of Sam.

The fight was long and hard. Even with Emma shooting, Dean and Sam kept reloading.

"Glad she gave us this arsenal." Emma gave them a lot of weapons and bullets.

"Yea." Sam hoped she was okay. He shot at a monster that came too close. Hearing an explosion, they jump. "Emma." Sam immediately jumps out of his hiding place. "EMMA!" Her small trailer was in flames. "Dean! Let go!" He saw the C4 earlier but hoped she was okay.

"She's fine. Look." Dean saw Emma peeking out from a side of a cliff.

"Thank god." Once Sam doubled check everything was okay, he ran to Emma and hugged her tight.

"I'm fine." She rigged her trailer days ago but armed it after Sam and Dean left. She hugged Sam back. "It's okay Sam. It's almost over."

Sam must have read her mind, Emma was smiling sadly at him.

"There's one left. It's the only way."

Dean didn't say a word. He knew what Emma was going to do.

"No. No no no. I have friends. We can protect you." The romantic feelings were no longer there, but Sam still cared deeply about her.

"The link needs to be severed. I'm the last one." Emma was determined not to cry. "I'm sorry." She had her gun ready with a silver bullet. "I have my materials ready to go, make sure the flames go sky high." She lived in the ocean and land, she was curious about space. "Spread my ashes into the sea. Goodbye, Sam."

Sam squeezes her goodbye.

"I love you Emma." His younger self could finally let go.

"I called. You saved me." She looks up. "You know I'm a natural redhead? You can cross that off your list." She touches his face, memorizing his every feature. "I always loved you. Your family. Go to them."

The sun was peeking out of the clouds when Sam was standing by the cliff holding on to Emma's ashes. Dean was giving him privacy, they already cleaned up after Emma's funeral.

"I will never forget you. My Emma of the Isles." Sam opened up her urn, her ashes flying down to the sea. "Thank you. You saved me too." Sam was suffering from depression, and Emma gave him the strength to move on. "Goodbye." Sam pictured her the day they met, her raven locks tied in a ponytail.

"Sam! Sis just called! Our flights are tonight! Not tomorrow! We got to head to Edinburgh!" It was a long drive to get there, they needed to leave right away.

"I'll be right there!" He closes his eyes in prayer. "I'll go on, make sure all creatures have a chance to live peacefully." He runs to the car and drives away with Dean.

Sam wondered, that key Emma mentioned. Was Emma the target, or did she kill herself to keep the key hidden from the other selkies? Sam looked at her urn, it was full of unusual patterns.

"I don't believe this."

"What is it Sammy?" Dean was driving, he knew Sam couldn't concentrate.

"Nothing." The legend of the fisherman was etched on the urn. When Sam looked closer, he saw a clue.

"I'm staying. Take Piper and Mel home, I'll be on the next available flight."

"Okay. It's your funeral." Whatever Emma left him, it was Sam's secret. The urn was full of drawings.

Piper was understandably upset. She insisted on staying in Scotland to see what was so important that Sam had to stay. Mel was with her aunts and grandfather, Paige, Phoebe, and Victor were watching over her in San Francisco.

"Where are we?" They were in an old castle.

"I have no idea." Sam was holding her hand. He already told her about Emma, how she saved Sam's life. Piper tried not to be jealous, but she understood how Sam felt to lose his first love. "Her will, it led me here." He already melted down her urn, he couldn't chance anyone finding it.

"Hopefully there's no traps inside." Piper made sure to freeze the area, just in case.

They walk to the basement, where they found a hidden wall.

"Stay back." Piper used astral projection to open the lever. Sure enough, a bunch of traps came flying out of their sleeves.

"We're not safe yet." Her astral projection was okay, but when he saw two large men coming out from the floor, he knew they had to fight. Great. You speak ancient Canaanite?" Sam knew their magic would be useless.

"No. But I seen this episode. Take their blades!"

A few minutes later, both were breathing hard. It was a rough fight, both would have been crushed to death by a mere hit.

"Glad I was bored." Piper was exhausted.

"Thank you Supernatural." Sam saw that episode, it was funny seeing Dean's counterpart laughing at their loincloths. He opened their chests, expecting sand. But when blood came out, both he and Piper were surprised.

"A heart?" She quickly opens up Magog. "These men. They must have been the true guardians." Their counterparts must have been a deterrent. "Am I supposed to see this?" She didn't like Sam keeping secrets, but she had to look at the bigger picture.

"Give me a few minutes." Sam wondered if Emma left these traps to keep her secret safe. She must've left all these traps a long time ago. Gog and Magog, this castle was probably built to keep them sealed away. Once he was alone, he searched for the next lever. "Aha." He hoped this wasn't a trap. Once a small trap door opened, a small box fell out. "No way." Once Sam opened it. It was a map. 'This must have come from the Thule.'

The Thule, their leger must have coordinates inside. But none could get inside this place thanks to the guardians. When Sam looked at it, he realized it was a map of a different world. Different key points were written inside for locations all over the world.

"Honey? Let's get outta here." Emma's key wasn't a physical key, but a map. She sent Sam all over the place to see if he could handle travelling and fighting. Those places, they must be well guarded as well.

The assassin looks at the rotting corpses of Gog and Magog.

"Dammit." For once he were stumped. It took him a while to figure out how to translate the Thule's clues, they must've had the same problem. "Plan B then." He had some unlimited angel grace, Raphael's power wasn't as good as his brothers, but his feathers were fantastic for the Spell of Gathering. He leaves the area, but not before blowing this place to kingdom come.
