For days Bella stared outside the window, almost every night hopefully Edward will return. No Phone call or a message forward to her. It seems that Edward indeed right, he has sworn to never return. Tears fell down her face and knows that curling into a ball will not solve anything, she will have to stay busy and focus on what will help her in the future.
A door has slammed in her face, Edward left so abruptly, It still gives her nightmares but her career, her friends are doors that will never close shut.
she will need to talk about her heartbreak, get people involved, speak to a psychiatrist, find a new hobby and keep every day occupied with something to do.
A man can change his mind within a day, If a part of him still wanted her he would have been back maybe the same day, Or he wants to come but is afraid that she'll send him away.
Bella sighed if only she knew what to do, maybe she should try and reach out to him.
Charlie came and crashed on the couch, he seems to be too tired to go up stairs, Bella placed a blanket over him and went outside, the rumbling sound of her engine didn't wake Charlie, he must be exhausted.
She then walked through the same forest they went to go hiking, She doesn't know where the Meadows is but she could still remember some areas.
" Edward?" Bella called out. " If you are here.. I'm not angry"
Bella was hoping that he's watching over her from a far, that he does love her, but is afraid to come home to her.
" Please come back" Bella said but only her Echoe is heard.
" Edward, I need you, this pain is so horrible,"
"Did you really walk away from something so wonderful between us?" Bella said.
Bella felt this horrible gnawing feeling that if a man loves you he will not walk away from something that's not her fault.
But she desperately tried to fight against it, to stay positive just a bit longer, maybe he'll come back.
Her empty wounded heart feels nothing, not even a tiny tug that she just need to have faith in his return.
"Bella" a voice called out to her.
Bella gasped excited she turned around to see who it was, she took some steps back despite being in awe with his beauty.
" I did not expect you here" Laurent said.
" Oh well.. I live here" Bella said stuttering.
" Why are you here?" Bella said feeling nervous, If only she didn't go into the woods alone.
"Just looking around" Laurent said his eyes were red, he has fed on humans and it made Bella feel very small.
knowing that Laurent didn't come for a mere chat.
He heard her heartbeat rise and smiled a little amused, " Don't worry It won't hurt"
" I'm doing you a favor" Laurent said.
" A favor,? " Bella squeaked.
" A much worse fate awaits you If I keep you alive" Laurent said. " You won't feel a thing"
" No, No wait! you helped us" Bella said. " Please you don't want Edward to come after you"
" I don't think he will," Laurent said shaking his head slightly,
" Afterall how much could you possibly mean to him, If he left you unprotected" Laurent said.
Bella gasped slightly, her gut feeling that he no longer loves her, Laurent rubbing it in made her feel worse, like her heart was burned to a crisp.
If Edward did care about her at least he would have gotten rid of Laurent or any vampire who sees her as a tasty beverage.
" Besides the rainwater will wash away my scent, many hikers disappeared without a trail" Laurent said not worrying about any consequences.
" Please help me," Bella shivered.
" Nothing personal Bella, I can't help myself you are just mouthwatering" Laurent said coming closer inhaling her scent.
" If you knew what will happen to you, you would thank me for such a painless death" Laurent said.
Bella swallowed and closed her eyes wishing her parents and all her friends goodbye. fantasizing she's home in her comfy room.
Bella's eyes shut open when a growl was heard, Laurent ceased his attack and his eyes darted towards the bushes,
A large irate Wolf in the size of a grizzly bear appeared from it, sharp teeth baring with loathe and more of them appeared.
Bella stood stiff as a board, wondering if these creatures want a piece of her too, She shivered when Laurent ran past her and the large wolves were on his trail.
Bella looked around when the wolves ran towards the forest, but one stayed,
Bella looked in awe, it was the large Wolf who saved her, he eyed her gently almost human. He then snarled and rant after his pack.
He saved her again, this time she could take a better look at the Wolf, the fur was brownish red, but those eyes.
Why did it look so familiar?
Bella snapped out of it and ran back, the vehicle came in sight and her hands trembled, she collected herself, started the engine and drove away.
She will not go to any forest again; this near-death experience shows that there is no point in trying to find a man who doesn't wish to be found.
It's over, Bella felt tears running down, but there is no need for further proof that Edward never meant for them to be together.
He was reluctant in changing her, not because of her soul but because he has no desire in being stuck with her for eternality.
The conversation with Laurent was everything she needed to know, he knows the Cullens much longer than she does, hopefully he found a way to control his thirst and that the wolves have scared him away, maybe he'll think the wolves are her guardians and she'll be safe from now.
When Bella arrived home Charlie was still asleep, she locked everything around the house. and went to her room to close the window shut, it won't keep the Vampires away
but at least there will be no sneak attack.
Bella went under the covers, she thought about the Wolves, they were inches away from her but didn't attack.
Hopefully they'll keep whatever threat Laurent was talking about at bay.

On the next day Bella got the presents out of her closet and left them in their old shed, she couldn't stand having anything in her room the Cullens gave her.
Every memory felt like betrayal. She just wants to forget and let go.
She used to take dance classes when she was little and played an instrument when she still had the motivation. She doesn't expect to become good in Ballet but It's a good stress relief, She looked at her books, she has so many assignments left and needs to hurry if she wants enough credit to graduate. After that she could ask her friends to which College they'll go to and she's sign up for that too, even If there are no classes that catches her interest, she just needs to have her friends back in her life.
If they'll have her back, Billy and Jacob have been very kind and she's welcome to join them at the large fire pit in La Push. She has no desire to be around anyone.
She rather crawl back in bed and cry, binge eating and just isolate herself but a responsible part of her can't let it go that far, Depression is a deadly disease if nothing is done about it, She knows she can't beat the depression alone. Despite being furious with Edward, she did make him a promise, to take care of herself.
Edward might not be depressed without her, he probably found a new Vampire mate, if he has forgotten her then she must at least pretend that she can forget him
and just pick up her life again, 2 weeks of misery and crying has been long enough. Bella wiped her face and forced her body to move to the bathroom,
After showering she looked herself in the mirror her face was wet from the water her eyes were reddish from crying and pressed her lips together in a tight line.
She will ring up the dance studio first and then go to La push, Jake will be happy to have her join.
When she came in the kitchen she gathered the courage to call her friends, she left a voicemail explaining her side of the story and if they were willing to accept her back and whether Edward returns she will never forsake any friendship again.
Bella then spoke to Billy mentioning that she would like to visit very soon.
Pain in her gut formed when she wanted to give it closure one last time, Incase Alice decides to look for her future she'll see this message coming though.
She wrote a letter on a small piece of paper imprinting the final goodbye message in her mind.
Edward.. I think I can let you go now.
I wished you loved me, as much as I love you, I wished I was needed like the moon needs the Ocean,
I would give up everything I own to follow you anywhere on Earth,
Humanity is so underwhelming when you are here, I would become a vampire for you..
if it made you stay, But you won't.
But I'll be fine, don't feel sorry after all I'm glad that time heals all wounds for my kind,
It's for the best.
Bella then put the letter away and made her way to La Push.
