Swinging her way across the expanse on the vine she held tightly onto, the sweet air encompassing her, she never felt so free in her entire life. None of the gray doe's previously expeditions with the crew she had worked with for so long could compare to this. Where she now found herself in—where a series of events she became a part of unexpectedly occurred—it seemed like the unnecessary worries that typical day-to-day life brought upon were nowhere to be found. No need for any kind of trepidation whatsoever, because everything surrounding her was one hundred percent serene.

Well, I wouldn't exactly say one hundred percent serene, a portion of her brain begged to differ. Keeping in mind that you just ended up fighting off some unsavory mammals that tried to take over.

The virescent hues belonging to the jungle scenery breezed by as she continued to swing on the vine. The bunny let out an enthusiastic whoop. From several feet behind she heard a ululating call, coming from the figure that was swinging on another dangling vine alongside her.

A tree, its height almost equivocal to that of a cathedral she had ventured to once, was steadily approaching. It got closer within her vision, and the gray-furred lagomorph came swiftly to a stop on the tree's gigantic branch before proceeding once again.

As she started to get closer to the floor of the jungle, and released her grip from the vine and jumped back onto the ground. Gleaming with excitement, she looked back up to the one that had been swinging on the vine behind her. The one, more specifically, that she had fallen in love with.

She watched as the russet-furred figure approached the tree she had stopped at a moment earlier, noticing that he was about to run directly into it.

"Nick! Watch out!"

The fox that she tried to warn ended up doing what she thought was going to happen: Accidentally whacking directly into the branch.

She watched as the vulpine collected his senses, got onto the branch, and swing his way over to where she now was before jumping down to the ground.

"You okay, Nick?" the bunny asked out of concern. This hadn't been the first time this very thing had occurred. "You're gonna end up knocking yourself silly."

The fox shook his head. "No," he answered. "Nick fine. Nick run into tree many times."

"So I've seen," the leporine replied. "Now, which way are we supposed to go to get to this special place you wanted to take me to?"

The vulpine that she knew as Nick observed his surroundings before pointing northward. "This way," he said. "Nick think Judy will love special place." He turned around and looked at the gray rabbit, outstretching his paw. "Nick will guide."

Judy held onto the paw of the fox as he lead her through the path of dense overgrowth, wondering where exactly he was taking her to. Even though she was told that the location was a surprise, she just really wanted to know. However, after a good amount of trekking through the terrain, she ended up seeing for herself where the tod had brought her to. As soon as she saw the spot for herself, her mouth hung wide open in awe and her eyes were aglow.

Her ears were greeted with the roaring sound of the cascading waterfall that she and Nick stood in front of. The aroma of all of the native flowers, splashes of color across the expanse, encompassed her, sweet but not cloying.

Judy took a seat upon the jungle floor, watching as Nick walked over to where some of the blossoms were and plucked a purplish one from where it had been growing.

The fox came over to where Judy was and sat down as well, handing the blossom he had picked to her. "For Judy," he said.

The bunny smiled as she looked at the flower she held delicately in her paw. "It's beautiful," she said to Nick. "Thank you."

"Nick thought flower matched Judy's eyes," the vulpine replied.

Judy couldn't help but laugh softly at his remark. "How romantic," she said.

"So what does Judy think of special place?" Nick asked.

She gazed around at all of the scenery before looking back at him. "This is amazing! I've always seen pictures of waterfalls like this, but they never looked as beautiful as this."

Nick smiled as he nodded his head. "Waterfall Nick's favorite spot in whole jungle," he replied. "Nick find it calming."

"You aren't wrong," Judy answered. "It is really calm to look out at all this. After stopping those bad mammals from bulldozing the place and nearly meeting our doom on those rapids, I'd say that now's the time for something calming."

The tod chuckled at the rabbit's words. "Judy right." He got up from where he was sitting and started to look around. "Oh, Nick almost forgot he had something for Judy."

Nick ran over to where several big rocks could be seen, starting to pick each of them up as he searched for what he was looking for. Once he had pushed the only rock he hadn't checked away, he found what he needed to and quickly ran back to Judy with it clutched tightly in his paw.

"Found it," he said as he watched his breath and sat back down. He placed what was in his grasp in the rabbit's small gray paw.

Judy looked away from the fox and down what he handed to her, placing a paw over mouth in shock upon seeing what it was. It looked like a bracelet that had been out of a thin piece of a native trailing plant, with several fragments of equally green leaves adorning it.

"Did…" Judy said. "Did you make this, Nick?"

Nick nodded. "Nick knew how much Judy loved other bracelet, so Nick made new one."

The bracelet Judy used to have on her wrist—a rose gold one with gemstone accents—ended up getting lost in the rapids during the fight against the unwelcome mammals. But the one she had just received from the fox would more than enough make up for the loss of the other one. The old one might have been sparkly to the eyes of others that might have seen it on her, but this one was much more precious than glimmering article of jewelry.

"Does bracelet fit Judy?" Nick inquired.

Judy slipped the handmade bracelet over her paw and onto her wrist. "It fits perfectly," she replied. "Like a glove."

The vulpine smiled with delight. "Nick glad to hear that." Remembering what else he wished to say, he added, "And now that Judy here, jungle feel lot less lonely."

"And they lived happily ever after. The end." His tale officially reaching its conclusion, he asked, "So, son, what did you think of that story?"

"I love it!" proclaimed his son with enthusiasm.

With a smile, the fox responded, "I might not be as good of a storyteller as your mother, but I'm glad you enjoyed it, buddy." Nick took a few steps forward, heading over to the lamp by the kit's bedside and shutting it off.

"What kind of story are ya gonna tell tomorrow, Dad?"

Over the last few days, Nick and Judy had been telling their own stories to their kit when bedtime arose. The picture books that were on the nearby shelf had been read many, many times, so they thought it would be a nice change to tell them their own tales.

One night, a story about two explorers discovering a pirate's buried treasure. Then Nick told the tale about two knights protecting a town against an evil witch. When Judy's turn came again, she spun a tale about a rabbit superhero and her cape-wearing fox sidekick. ("Come on, Carrots," Nick had said regarding that story. "Why do I gotta be the sidekick?"

Their son listened attentively to every story they told, and loved it when they would do the individual voices for each of the mammals in them. And when the words "The end" were said, he always asked with excitement what the next story was going to be about.

"Can't tell you tonight; it's a surprise. If I told you now, it'd spoil it for you. I will tell you, though, that it has robots in it. That sounds pretty cool, don't it?"

"Cool," was the answer he had received. The young kit had really been into robots and the like most recently, so the story sounded perfect to him.

The fox kissed his son goodnight before walking back over towards the doorway. "Sleep tight."

The kit waved back to his father. "Goodnight, Dad."

Author's Note: Came up with this little idea and thought it would be a cute one to write about. I originally was just going to have it just be Nick and Judy in the different setting, but soon after writing it down came up with the idea of it just being a story that Nick was telling. Hope that it was an enjoyable read. Been getting back in the writing mood, and have been working on some more stories like these that I hope to share on here real soon.

As always, let me know what your thoughts were on this. Your thoughts, good and bad, are always gladly appreciated.

'Til next time, everybody! :)
