"Time to eat!" Nick said excitedly, clapping his paws together as he sat down.

Stretching across him on the table was a Thanksgiving feast that dreams were made of. Every dish he could think of in a holiday meal and more laid out in front of him. The main course sat in the middle of the table like a centerpiece, along with several large platters of roasted vegetables, trays full of green beans and homemade stuffing, a humongous bowl of mashed potatoes, and a cheese and cracker tray. But what caught his eye the most hadn't even been placed here as much food that was already in front of him, if they were to put it there now, there wouldn't have been any room for their plates or silverware.

In the corner of his eye, he saw the pie and dessert bread that had been prepared the night before, sitting at room temperature in the kitchen. As much as he wanted to dig into them now before enjoying the rest of the feast, he knew he was just going to have to wait on that.

From the other side of the room emerged Judy, who took her seat not too far away from his. Running towards them energetically was a seven-year-old fox kit, who slowed down when he reached the table and took his seat.

"Wow, Mom," the kit said with glee. "There's a lot of food here!" Prior to being adopted by Nick and Judy, he had never seen a dinner quite this big in his life. This would probably go down as the best meal he ever had!

Judy laughed from where she sat, looking back at him with a smile. "There sure is, Noah," she replied. "I just tried my best to make this a nice Thanksgiving."

"Are you kidding?" the seven-year-old fox said. "This is amazing!"

"I second that, Fluff," Nick chimed in. "We're definitely gonna have a lot of leftovers from all of this. I'm not even sure what I should put on my plate first."

"Well, we can't serve anything yet until we say grace," Judy informed. Looking over at her fox, she asked, "Nick, will you say a little prayer?"

"I don't really know what to say, though," the vulpine said with a shrug of his shoulders. "Not the best when it comes to dinner prayers."

The fox kit raised sitting on the other side of the table raised his paw. "I'll do it, Mommy!" he said to Judy.

The doe smiled back and replied, "In that case, the honor is all yours, Noah."

Noah bowed his head and put his paws together, and Nick and Judy did the same. The kit began, "Thank you for giving me such a wonderful family."

"Awww," Judy said under her breath, holding a paw to her heart.

Noah continued, "Thank you for all of this great food... and our silverware... and our house... and my cool new room with my toys... And, uh... Just thank you for everything. Let's all have a happy Thanksgiving. Amen."

"Amen," Judy said shortly afterwards.

"That was an interesting prayer," Nick complimented. "Never thought of including thanks for the silverware before."

Judy looked at the tod and answered, "That serves as a reminder to us all, though. Sometimes we take for granted things that what we got and forget to give thanks for them, even the silverware."

"That is true, Carrots," the vulpine replied.

"Alright," Judy said. "Let the Thanksgiving feast begin!"

"Yay!" proclaimed Noah with joy, handing his plate to the bunny, who gave him a serving of what he asked for.

After looking towards the kitchen once again, Nick's mind went back to those delicious-looking desserts that were still sitting there, calling him by name. "Say, Fluff," he said to the doe seated beside him, "there isn't a chance we could have that dessert back there, is there?"

His inquiry was met with the shaking of the lagomorph's head. "Not yet, Nick," she said. "We'll just have to wait until after supper."

"Yeah, Dad," Noah added. "Those sweets will spoil your appetite."

Nick smiled at the fox kit's wise remark before helping himself to some of the cranberry sauce sitting next to him.

Once the three had what they wanted on their plates, they all sat in silence and dug into their delectable meal.

Author's Note: Hey there, everyone! I'm back. :)

Wanted to write something short for Thanksgiving. I know celebrating the holiday is going to be a bit different this year, but let us all remember to be thankful for those in our lives and the blessings that we have.

I know this was a pretty short story this time around, but I hope it was a nice little read. Been working on some stories that were a bit longer than this one recently. A couple of them that I've written are centered around Jack and Skye, and I'll be sharing them real soon. :)

As always, your thoughts on this, good and bad, are always appreciated.

'Til next time, everybody! :)
