The golden and crimson hues of the sunrise spread across the sky in every direction, welcoming a brand new day with its beauty. As the natural spectacle ensued, the parking lot of the rest stop remained completely idle. Nothing dared to make a sound and disturb the location's current tranquility, with the exception of the birds twittering back and forth in a nearby tree, welcoming the day with their morning song.

The spot wasn't as big compared to some others they had seen in the past, such as the one they had passed yesterday with the fancy travel plaza, but it made for a nice spot for those that were traveling to rest before getting back on the road.

The building behind them was a basic construction, which had a map to let folks that had never been to the area what was nearby, and also had some vending machines for those needing to grab a quick bite. To the left of that building, several wooden picnic tables and a small playground sat on top of green and freshly-trimmed grass.

Judy watched as full daylight made its serene arrival once again. There was something about watching the sunrise that she always enjoyed, starting back when she was pretty young. She made sure to wake up a little bit earlier just so she could see it before they continued on with the trip to their destination.

The gray doe, bundled up in a warm winter coat, smiled as she waited for Nick to come back. He had went back to check what the map had said, as well as get them something from the vending machine to start their day with. Not even a minute later, the fox returned and joined her at her side as he looked out at the sunrise.

"Here you are," he said to her as he handed her the bottle of water that she had requested.

"Thanks," she simply replied as she took the bottle from Nick.

"I know we normally start the day with a cup of joe, but it doesn't look like there's a Snarlbuck's nearby according to the map," Nick said informatively.

"There might be a Dinoco station somewhere closer," Judy responded. "We can fill up the gas tank and get some coffee there if we see one."

Nick nodded his head before yawning. "Well, our destination can't be too much further." Looking over at his bunny, he asked, "Gettin' excited, Carrots?"

Judy laughed under her breath. "Can hardly wait to get there," she responded. "Can't believe we're actually heading to see those mountains. I'm sure they look so much prettier in the flesh than they do in the pictures."

"Can't wait to get there either," the tod beside her said in agreement. "Don't forget about our little stop on the way, too."

"Yes, I didn't forget," Judy replied. How could she possibly fail to remember it when her fox had mentioned a numerous amount of times? "You haven't stopped talking about it since we hit the road."

The vulpine shrugged his shoulders. "Hey, it's not every day that you get a chance to stop and see the Country's Largest Blueberry. I'm sure as heck not gonna let that opportunity slip away."

"You know it's just a giant sculpture in the shape of a blueberry, Slick," the lagomorph responded.

With a nod of his head, Nick said, "I know that. It'll be cool, though, to see how tall it is in the flesh. Would sure be crazy if it was a real blueberry that was that gigantic, wouldn't it, Carrots?"

At the mental image of an edible blueberry that was as enormous as the sculpture they were going to go see soon, she started to giggle. "I can only imagine. Don't think we'd ever need to buy them for quite awhile if you were able to get one that was that size in real life."

"Darn right," the fox replied. "And just think how many blueberry-flavored popsicles you'd make outta that."

"Just remind me when we're there to visit the gift shop before we go," Judy said. "Gotta grab another magnet to remember it."

Nick made a mental note to remind her about that later. With every trip that they made together, she always looked to see if there was a magnet or something small that she could keep to remember the location she went to.

"Ready to hit the road again?" he asked after a long pause between the two.

The rabbit shook her head. "Not yet," she replied. "Let's just stand here a little bit longer, enjoy that pretty sunrise for just a few more minutes."

"Good idea," Nick agreed with a smile, taking in the pleasantly-colored sky with his bunny by his side.
