Note: As this is my first story for both Bob's Burgers and Code Lyoko, I apologize if I get certain things wrong. While I have seen every episode of Bob, I didn't have the opportunity to rewatch Lyoko from start to finish. However, I feel confident, knowing that I have the chance to tear through the story. After all, who doesn't want to see the Lyoko Warriors again? And before you ask, no, this isn't set after Code Lyoko Evolution (or even the novel series, as you can tell).
Now that I've said that, it's time for chapter two.
Chapter 2: Tutors from Out of Town
As morning rolled around on Ocean Avenue, the preteen woke up. The nightmare he had was still ringing in his head. Despite his attempts to ignore it, it wouldn't go away. He wanted to tell his family about it, but didn't know how they would react. While the child could tell what his mother's reaction would be, he felt that his father would give him all sorts of different advice. His siblings would make comments about it, particularly his younger sister. The boy's older sister wasn't particularly good at giving advice, but she had her moments.
Getting up from bed, the boy went over to his dresser, intent on finding some clothes he could wear for the day. He pulled out a yellow t-shirt, blue shorts, and socks. Putting them on, the preteen got dressed, intent on joining his family for breakfast. Before he did that, he went to the bathroom, needing to relieve himself and brush his teeth. While he was in the bathroom, he made a few funny faces at the mirror. He even did so using his toothbrush, pretending that he was a walrus with only one tusk.
"Gene, are you coming?" A voice called out.
"In a minute!" He responded.
Upon finishing what he needed to do in the bathroom, Gene left. Walking to the kitchen/dining room, he saw his family sitting around the table, eating breakfast. The first person he saw was his father, Bob: a mustachioed man wearing a white t-shirt and gray pants. Next up was Linda: Bob's wife and the mother of the Belcher children who wore red glasses, a red-orange long-sleeved shirt and blue pants. Sitting in-between them was Louise: the youngest Belcher child who always wore a pink hat with bunny ears, aside from her green dress and hair ties that bound her hair in two pigtails. Lastly, there was Tina: the eldest Belcher sibling who wore a pair of black glasses, a blue shirt, and a denim skirt.
"Good morning, everybody." Gene greeted.
"Morning, honey!" Linda spoke.
"So, how did you sleep, Gene?" Louise asked.
"I slept well, dear sister." Gene said. "Mother, you're looking well this morning."
The Belchers didn't buy it. From what they could tell, Gene had a nightmare the night before. Both Bob and Linda overheard him tossing and turning in his bed, trying to fall asleep again. The two even heard their son jolt awake, as the nightmare ended abruptly. Whenever Gene would have a nightmare like that, it meant that he would act strange the next day. Occasionally, he would just shake off a nightmare, but it depended on what it was like. Based on how the preteen was acting, the dream was still on his mind.
"Gene, did you have a nightmare?" Bob asked.
"Yeah," Gene said, "but I'm sure that it's nothing. I mean, everyone has a nightmare every once in a while!"
"What happened in your nightmare?" Tina asked.
"And what caused you to jump out of your skin?" Louise asked.
"I don't know how to explain it, but I dreamed that a monster came out of the computer lab at school." Gene said. "The computers were making weird noises, so I went to see what was wrong. That was when it came out of the room and charged at me!"
Tina and Louise looked at each other for a moment, then back at Gene. What he had just described to the family was oddly familiar. It was something that the two sisters had witnessed before, but on separate occasions. In Tina's case, she found herself walking down the street, only for a strange fog to come out of the sewers and chase her. As for Louise, she was in Wonder Wharf when several people she knew from school surrounded her. Each of them grimaced, having an odd symbol in their eyes, which replaced their pupils. They ran after the nine-year-old when she tried to escape, intent on killing her.
Much like Gene, Tina and Louise had experienced nightmares of their own. Once their brother shared his, they felt tempted to tell him about the ones they had. In fact, Tina was about to share hers. Before that could happen, Linda spoke to Gene.
"Oh, honey, I'm sorry you had that nightmare!" Linda said. "Maybe we could talk about it when you get home from school. How's that sound?"
"Thanks, mom." Gene said.
"Speaking of school, we should probably get going!" Louise said.
"Yeah, we don't want to be late!" Tina stated.
Upon finishing their breakfast, Tina, Gene, and Louise went to get their shoes on. After that, the siblings gathered their school supplies and walked out the door. As they walked away from their home/restaurant, they could hear their mother calling to them.
"Have a good day at school, my babies!" Linda said.
Nodding in response, the Belcher children signaled that they heard her words. They then walked to Wagstaff, making sure that they made it in time. However, the three (particularly Louise) wanted to be somewhere else instead of school. To them, it would just be another day of classes, interacting with teachers and classmates, eating lunch, recess, and homework. Little did the three siblings know, that day would be a different one. In fact, things would be different for not only them, but also those in attendance at Wagstaff, let alone the town.
Meanwhile at Kadic Academy, a teenager was in his dorm, looking at the message he had received at midnight. An hour earlier, he had notified his friends about the message, telling them to come as quickly as they could. If the sender of the strange email was the same being that they had fought before, then the world as they knew it was in immediate danger. The teen had hoped that the multi-agent program he used would end the threat once and for all, and it did. However, that didn't explain why he had received that email. Something was wrong, and the boy would have to find out why.
A knock came on the door, causing the teen to turn around.
"Come in!" He said.
The doorknob turned, allowing it to open. After that, the door was pushed inward, allowing whoever was behind it to enter the room. The person in-question was a teen girl who looked around the age of the boy. She had pink hair, which made it look like she had died it. Her choice of clothing was a dark purple dress that came to her knees, light pink quarter-length leggings, and boots. The girl looked tired, looking like she had not gotten a wink of sleep for quite some time.
"Jeremy!" She cried.
"You're here early, Aelita." Jeremy, the boy, said.
Aelita walked up to Jeremy, deciding to take a look at the message on his computer. She let out a gasp, her eyes widening in shock. It made her want to cry, knowing that the program Jeremy had installed failed to end the nightmare that had been plaguing them and their friends for years. Worse, her father gave his life to help them, only for his sacrifice to backfire. Seeing the girl's turmoil, Jeremy put a reassuring hand on her shoulder. He felt sad himself, but he knew that he couldn't feel like that when a threat was on the horizon.
"I knew that X.A.N.A's death was too good to be true." Aelita somberly said.
"I'm sorry, Aelita," Jeremy said, "I just thought that the program would be enough to stop him for good."
"I was hoping that this email was a dream, but it's real." She said. "Looks like my father sacrificed himself for nothing after all."
"Don't worry," he said, "if we're able to go to Lyoko again, you'll be able to get some revenge on X.A.N.A! Trust me, I'll find a way for you to delete him for good this time!"
"I don't think that revenge will bring my father back, Jeremy." The pink-haired teen said.
"At least we'll be able to fight X.A.N.A again." The blonde-haired teen said, trying to lift his friend's spirit.
All of a sudden, two other teens stepped into the room. The first of the two teens was a girl of Japanese descent with black hair, while the other one was a boy with blonde hair that had a purple blotch in it. The girl was wearing a dark graphite blouse, dark pants, and black boots. As for the boy, he was wearing a light purple hoodie over a purple long sleeve shirt, periwinkle jeans, and red shoes. Both of them had serious expressions, intent on discussing the message with Jeremy and Aelita. As soon as they stepped in, the girl closed the door.
"Odd, Yumi, just the two I wanted to see!" Jeremy spoke.
"Is the message still up, Jeremy?" Yumi, the girl, asked.
Stepping aside, Jeremy allowed his friends to read the email he had gotten. Odd could not help but gasp, knowing that it was sent by X.A.N.A, who the group had thought was gone for good. Yumi's reaction was the same, but she seemed more frustrated. After all the hell that they had went through, the group had been unable to defeat their most dangerous enemy. They thought that they would be able to have normal lives after such an uphill battle to free Lyoko from the monster that plagued it, but that clearly wasn't the case. Nothing was ever that simple with X.A.N.A.
"Great," Yumi said in annoyance, "even after that program was launched, X.A.N.A was able to come back and haunt us!"
"Looks like we'll have to start going to Lyoko again." Odd said.
"I don't think going to Lyoko will be enough for us to fight X.A.N.A now." Jeremy said. "For all we know, he could be contacting us from a different source."
"But from where?" Aelita asked.
"That's what I'd like to know, because this is the last thing I expected to see!" Odd stated.
"What thing?" A voice came into the room.
Turning away from Jeremy's computer screen, Aelita, Yumi, and Odd saw a dark-haired teenage boy standing right outside the door. He was wearing a black t-shirt with a red logo on it, navy blue jeans, a brown leather jacket, and brown boots. Yumi was surprised to see him, having expected someone else to show up. Odd and Aelita didn't mind his presence, but they were a bit cautious around him. He wasn't an enemy of the group, but they were worried about bringing up X.A.N.A's unexpected return to him. After all, he was under the malicious AI's control for quite some time.
"What's going on, guys?" He asked. "Why are you all in Jeremy's room?"
"William," Jeremy spoke, "just who I wanted to see!"
As he walked into the room, William smiled at Yumi. However, she was still surprised to see him. Considering the rocky history he had with the group, the young woman was hoping that he wouldn't get involved with Lyoko. The last time he went there, he wound up becoming possessed by X.A.N.A and being turned into a powerful enemy. It had taken them months to get William back, and, as far as they were concerned, he wouldn't have had to be involved with them again. While he was still part of the group, they didn't speak to him a whole lot after turning off the supercomputer.
Upon seeing the email X.A.N.A had sent Jeremy, William was shocked. That shock quickly turned into a desire for vengeance. After everything that had happened, the young man thought that he would be free of X.A.N.A and the strange happenings on Lyoko once the group turned off the supercomputer. Now that he knew that the evil AI was back, he was eager to pay him back for possessing him and using him to attack the group. While he didn't know a whole lot of what happened during his possession, the group filled him in on what happened after they defeated X.A.N.A and shut down the supercomputer. William believed that he didn't thank them enough for freeing him, so he hoped that being given another opportunity to fight X.A.N.A would be enough.
"I'm glad that you showed me this, Jeremy, because I'm ready to kick X.A.N.A's butt!" William said, cracking his knuckles.
"Might want to be more careful this time." Jeremy warned. "If the first mission back to Lyoko goes like your first mission, then we'll have to fight a X.A.N.A-possessed you again!"
"Which makes me wonder," Yumi spoke, "why did you come here, William?"
"Jeremy messaged me through his text messages." William said.
"Well, if you're here, then where's Ulrich?" The young woman asked.
Once Yumi had asked that, Jeremy couldn't help but look around. It wasn't like Ulrich to be the last one to show up in the group. Even when he had something important to do, he was always there for them, apart from an occasion where he was kicked out of the group. The teen had used a Return to the Past in order to help Yumi's family and have them stay near Kadic Academy, ignoring the fact that X.A.N.A's powers increased every time a trip back in time was triggered. Of course, Ulrich was accepted back in the group after he admitted what he did was wrong. From there, he had never done anything like that again.
Moving past that, the group was about to go out and look for Ulrich. Considering how X.A.N.A was back, they feared that he had gotten a hold of the teen. If that happened, then they would either have to fight a possessed Ulrich, or head to Lyoko and have Aelita deactivate a Tower in order to free him. Before they could step outside, William spoke up.
"Speaking of Ulrich," he said, "I saw someone in the hallway wearing his clothes. I don't know if it was him or not, but he had red blotches on his skin."
"Red blotches?" Odd asked.
"Oh my, X.A.N.A could be the cause of that!" Aelita cried.
"Hold on," Jeremy said, "I'm sure that there's a logical reason behind it."
"Yeah, how about too much time in the sun?" A familiar voice asked.
Hearing the voice, the group saw someone standing in the doorway. This person was wearing a dark green shirt, army jacket, blue-gray jeans, and brown shoes. He had brown, scruffy hair, looking like he seldom brushed it. Like William said, the teen had red blotches on certain areas of his skin. However, they didn't look like they were part of a rash. Rather, the blotches looked like they would clear up in no time.
"Ulrich?" Yumi asked.
"What?" Ulrich spoke. "Did you guys forget that I was coming here, too?"
"What the hell happened to you?!" Odd asked, shocked by what he was seeing.
"To make a long story short, I tried to get a tan, but I was out in the sun for too long." The teen said.
"Didn't you try to use a tanning bed?" William asked.
"Give me a break, paying to use one of those isn't cheap." He said. "Either way, my parents weren't happy to see me when I got back from the beach."
"I hope those burns clear up in time for the next mission, because X.A.N.A's back for revenge!" Jeremy spoke.
"You're lucky that the scanners won't be disrupted by sunburns," Aelita said, "because you would be unable to go to Lyoko if they were."
"Whatever." Ulrich said. "Let me see that message, Einstein."
Jeremy stepped aside, allowing Ulrich to read the email that X.A.N.A had sent. After reading it, the teen felt ready to fight the malignant AI again. However, before taking his eyes off the screen, he noticed a series of numbers below the message. The numbers were arranged in a certain pattern, as if they were part of some code. In addition to that, the numbers were followed by a degree sign and a letter.
"Jeremy, did you notice the numbers below X.A.N.A's message?" Ulrich asked.
"Numbers?" Jeremy spoke, looking at the screen. "They aren't just numbers, they're map coordinates."
"Coordinates?" Odd asked. "For where?"
"Hold on, let me see." The spectacled blonde said.
Highlighting the coordinates with his mouse, Jeremy then hit the copy option on his keyboard. After that, the teen went to a map website, inputting the coordinates on the search engine. The map then went to a town in the United States, searching for which state it belonged to. When it got done searching, the map zoomed into the northeastern states. Upon zooming in, Jeremy was able to see that the coordinates were from New Jersey. The town they were tied to was Seymour's Bay, somewhere that was rarely spoken about by tourists.
"Looks like the message came from Jersey." Jeremy said.
"New Jersey?" Odd asked. "X.A.N.A's messaging us from New Jersey?"
"I don't think that he's there on vacation." Ulrich snarked.
"Oh my, there goes turning the supercomputer back on!" Aelita said.
"And I was ready to fight again!" William said.
"Jeremy, we have to do something!" Yumi said. "If X.A.N.A's in New Jersey, then we need to find a way to get there!"
"Unless we can, then we can't do anything." Jeremy said.
"Besides, it's not like we're going to get a free trip there." Ulrich stated.
"What are you all doing in Belpois' room?" A voice asked.
Turning around, the group saw a brunette standing in the doorway. The girl was none other than Elizabeth "Sissi" Delmas. She happened to be the daughter of the principal, meaning that she was closer to him than anyone else, including the staff. However, the teen had also become friends with the group, Ulrich having invited her after X.A.N.A was thought to have been destroyed. Dressed in a pink shirt, jeans, and red shoes, Sissi was unashamed in her clothing choices. However, she could be modest when the situation called for it.
"We were just catching up on what we did during the summer." Odd lied.
"Really?" Sissi asked.
"Really." Jeremy said. "After all, it's not a bad idea to speak to your friends after some time apart."
"You guys and your friendship." The brunette said. "Anyway, my dad wants to speak with you, he says it's important!"
Looking at each other for a moment, the Lyoko Warriors were surprised to hear that. It was only the beginning of the new semester, and they were being called down to Mr. Delmas' office? Given how Sissi mentioned that it was important, no one hesitated to head down to see the principal. Whatever he wanted to talk about, they had a feeling that it was something big. If something involved everyone in the group, including Aelita, then there was something huge waiting for them. No matter the reason, they knew that it was important enough to involve all of them.
At Wagstaff, Tina, Gene, and Louise were speaking with Mr. Phillip Frond. The red-haired guidance counselor had called them into his office, claiming that he had important matters to discuss with them. While the three were glad to be out of class for a moment, they had a bad feeling about being called into Mr. Frond's office. Every time that happened, it was usually because he was going to give them detention or discuss their occasionally disruptive behavior. However, the Belcher children also knew that he was rather hypocritical, not exactly making himself out to be a saint. Despite that, the counselor clearly had important matters that he needed them for.
"Okay," Mr. Frond spoke, "Belcher children, now that you're here, we can talk about what I called you in here for."
"Is it because we have detention?" Tina asked.
"Well, only Louise, but that's not the reason I called you in here for." The redhead said.
"Then why did you call us in?" Louise asked.
"Principal Spoors called me and said that a new program had opened up during the summer." The guidance counselor said. "I wasn't sure of how every student would react to it, so I called the three of you in so that I could see what you would think."
"What's the program about, anyway?" Gene asked.
"Tutors from another school." He said.
"Tutors?" Tina, Louise and Gene asked.
"Tutors?" The Lyoko Warriors asked.
Inside of Mr. Delmas' office, the Lyoko Warriors sat around his desk. Sissi was standing to the side, watching the meeting unfold. Ulrich, Aelita, and Yumi were parked in front of the desk, looking the principal right in the eyes. Odd and William sat to the right, getting a glimpse of what was on Mr. Delmas' computer, though they chose not to pay attention to it. As for Jeremy, he was on the left side of the desk, his eyes focused on his friends and the principal. The group sat still, waiting for Mr. Delmas to speak.
"It would appear so." Mr. Delmas said. "All of you have been signed up for a tutoring program. For this program, you will head to another school and teach a certain subject to the students who attend classes there."
"Sir, there has to be a mistake." Jeremy said. "We've never even heard of this program before."
"No mistake, Belpois." The principal said. "I don't suppose that you wouldn't be going to this school if you didn't know what you would be teaching, or where the school is at, right?"
"Of course we want to know what we're teaching." Odd spoke.
"Knowing where the school we're tutoring at is would help, too." Ulrich said.
"The school you'll be tutoring at is Wagstaff middle school in Seymour's Bay, New Jersey." Mr. Delmas said.
"New Jersey?" Sissi spoke. "Isn't that place full of jerks, some of whom having played for the New Jersey Devils back in the 70s?"
"Dear, I'm sure that there are plenty of nice people in Seymour's Bay." The principal said. "Who knows? You might even make a friend there."
"I hope so." The teen said.
"Now," he said, "as for the classes you'll be teaching in, they are as follows: Belpois, you'll be tutoring a computer class. Ishiyama, you'll be tutoring for biology. Stones, you'll be a music tutor. Stern, you'll be assisting the gym teacher at Wagstaff, tutoring martial arts as well. Dunbar, you'll be tutoring a health class."
"Health class?" William spoke. "Gee, that's going to be hard."
"At least Aelita and Jeremy got the better ones." Odd stated.
"Which reminds me," Mr. Delmas looked at the blonde, "Della Robbia, you'll be a tutor for the kids who are in detention."
"A detention tutor?" He asked. "What would I do?"
"You'll find out when you get there." The principal said.
"Wait," Sissi spoke, "Dad, am I a tutor, too?"
"Indeed you are, my dear." He said. "The class you'll be tutoring in is English."
"English?" The teenager said. "Is it too late to switch classes with someone?"
"I'm afraid so. Now, all of you, go get ready for the trip that awaits you."
Walking out of Mr. Delmas' office, the Lyoko Warriors and Sissi went to their rooms, deciding to get packed up. Once they were done, the teenagers were taken to a plane. As they climbed into it, Jeremy and Ulrich agreed to sit in the back, so that their fear of heights wouldn't be triggered by looking out the windows. Ulrich hoped that it would keep his vertigo under control as well, as it would start whenever he was high enough from the ground. Aside from that, the Lyoko Warriors waited for when the plane would land in New Jersey, as that was where X.A.N.A was messaging them from. Sissi, on the other hand, was not pleased with the fact that she was a tutor, as she never wanted to be a teacher after she graduated.
The next day, the students at Wagstaff were gathered in the auditorium, awaiting for whatever Mr. Frond was going to talk about. Usually, an assembly or a stage show was held in the room, but there were also moments where the students were called in for a fundraiser. Whatever was going to happen, everyone was just waiting for it to be over, so that they could continue on with their day. Louise in particular hoped that the assembly didn't take too long, as she wanted to come up with an idea for a personal project. Gene was indifferent, but he was somewhat curious about when the tutors were going to arrive. Tina was quiet, but she was excited, given how the tutors could've arrived at any moment. She hoped that they were all pretty boys with muscular butts.
From within the audience, the Belcher children could hear several of their classmates discussing the assembly, pondering on what it could be about.
"So, what do you guys think this assembly is for?" Regular-Sized Rudy asked, being seated behind Louise.
"Maybe it's for a fundraiser." Jimmy Junior suggested, sitting beside Tina.
"Or maybe an athlete is coming to encourage us to follow our dreams." Zeke said, sitting behind Tina and next to Gene.
"If it's a fundraiser, I hope the prize is a trip to Italy!" Tammy said, sitting in front of Tina.
"That would be, like, exciting or whatever." Jocelyn stated, being seated next to Tammy.
"Guys, quiet, the assembly is about to start!" Tina whispered.
Up on the stage, Mr. Frond walked up to the microphone. Behind him were seven teenagers, all of whom looked like they had just come into town. As soon as they saw them, the students were surprised. However, Tina, Gene, and Louise knew who these people were: the tutors. What surprised the siblings was that the tutors were teenagers instead of college students or adults. They had a feeling that these young men and women weren't going to be any ordinary tutors.
"Alright," Mr. Frond spoke into the microphone, "students, if I may have your attention, I'd like to speak with you about a new program that has been opened up here at Wagstaff. This program involves all of you being taught by people who hail from another school. In other words, Wagstaff has gotten seven tutors!"
"Tutors?" Everyone in the audience (sans Tina, Gene, and Louise) chorused.
"Yes, tutors!" The guidance counselor said. "Now, if I may, I shall let the tutors introduce themselves to you!"
Mr. Frond stepped to the side, allowing the first of the seven tutors to approach the microphone. He was a blonde, with his hair being in an odd style. The students couldn't help but wonder what routine he does to keep it like that, but they felt they wouldn't get the opportunity to ask him. After all, he was on the stage with his fellow tutors, and they were in front of the stage. The blonde tapped the microphone, allowing him to get everyone's attention.
"My name is Jeremy Belpois," he spoke, "and I will be a tutor at the computer class here at Wagstaff."
After him, a brown-haired teen stepped up to the microphone. He had red blotches on his skin, presumably having gotten them from a sunburn. The teen didn't need to tap the microphone, given how it was working well.
"I'm Ulrich Stern." The brunette introduced himself. "I'll be tutoring martial arts to anyone who is interested. Other than that, I'll be working with the gym teacher here at Wagstaff."
He stepped aside, allowing the next person to speak into the microphone. She happened to be a brunette with dark black hair. In addition to that, the teen appeared to be of Asian descent. With that in mind, the students wondered if she would be the smartest out of all of them.
"Everyone, I am Yumi Ishiyama." The teen spoke. "I will be tutoring in biology, so feel free to ask me for help."
The girl then took a step back, allowing the next tutor to speak into the microphone. The fourth tutor happened to be another boy, not much younger than the others. He had blonde hair, much like the first tutor, but it had a purple spot in it. It was styled like a flame, which gave everyone the impression he was the more rebellious of the tutors. A few of them got the feeling that they would get along with him the best.
"What's up, everyone?" The teen spoke. "I'm Odd Della Robbia, and I'll be tutoring those who are in detention."
Upon hearing that, a few students gulped. They hoped that he would be the best tutor, but they had a bad feeling about him. As they had detention, they knew that they would have serious work ahead of them. Once the fourth tutor was out of the way, the fifth one walked up to the microphone. The fifth tutor was a girl with pink hair, which caught the students off guard. As for the staff, they couldn't tell whether her hair was dyed, or if it was her natural hair color.
"My name is Aelita Stones." The pink-haired tutor introduced herself. "I will be a music tutor here at Wagstaff, so I can tell that we'll have fun."
After she had introduced herself, the fifth tutor walked away from the microphone. This allowed the sixth tutor to step up. He happened to be a dark-haired teen, looking like he was one of the older ones, if not the oldest. Some of the female students were entranced by him, finding him handsome. There were some that didn't become entranced by the sixth tutor, but they found him attractive.
"Good morning," the brunette spoke, "I am William Dunbar. I will be the tutor for health class, even though it's not a class I was expecting to tutor in."
Once he was done, the seventh and final tutor walked up and took the microphone. She was the fourth brunette in the group, and the third to have black hair. The teen didn't look like she wanted to be on the stage, given how grumpy she seemed to be. However, she put it aside to address the students.
"I'm Sissi Delmas," she spoke, "and I'll be an English tutor for those who need help in class."
After the tutors had introduced themselves, Mr. Frond took the microphone and addressed the students.
"Now that we have gotten to know our tutors, I trust that all of you will seek their assistance from time to time." He spoke. "As of tomorrow, you will see them every day, even on the weekend. For now, you are dismissed!"
Upon being given the order, the students of Wagstaff started to leave the auditorium. However, Tina, Gene, and Louise stayed behind for a little bit. While Tina looked like she was getting a crush on the male tutors, Gene and Louise were transfixed by all seven of them. Something about them felt different, as if they were from another world entirely. However, something else occurred to the two younger Belcher siblings. They didn't know it at first, but then it hit them: the tutors looked familiar.
Later that night, the Belcher family was sitting at the table, eating dinner. While Tina was eating what was on her plate, Gene and Louise were more focused on the conversation they were having with Bob and Linda. The Belcher parents were interested in talking about their plans for the restaurant, but hearing about the tutors who were now at Wagstaff sidetracked them. Hearing that seven teenagers had come from another school to help out the students was a surprise, given how hidden Seymour's Bay seemed to be. Neither Belcher parent could believe it, but they thought that it was wonderful that there would be tutors around the neighborhood. Chances were, Tina, Gene, and Louise would learn a lot from them.
"So, are you kids excited about your new tutors?" Linda asked.
"Not really." Louise said.
"We've already got teachers at Wagstaff." Gene spoke. "What would we need tutors for?"
"I like the new tutors." Tina said. "Four of them are even BFOS."
"Tina, enough of the BFOS thing!" Louise said. "Mom, dad, I don't think that we need tutors at Wagstaff, especially if they're a couple of teenagers!"
"Kids," Bob spoke, "I know that you think you don't need a tutor, but this could be an opportunity for you to learn some new skills. Besides, it might allow you to get better grades in your classes."
"Yeah, each of you can get bad grades sometimes, especially Tina." Linda said.
"That's true." Tina said.
"But there's something else to these guys, something familiar." Gene said.
"Oh, are you thinking about that other dream you had, honey?" Linda asked.
"Kinda, but not really." The boy said. "I mean, only two of them showed up in that dream, and they were the pink-haired tutor and the blonde with glasses."
A knock came on the door, causing Louise to go answer it. Once she opened the door, she saw the tutors standing behind it. Seeing them surprised the nine-year-old, as members of the staff at Wagstaff never visited the Belcher household, apart from when Mr. Frond was dating her aunt Gayle. While the relationship soon broke off, the girl was reluctant to see them together. After the relationship ended, the Belchers were convinced that they wouldn't have another visit from a teacher or higher-up from Wagstaff again. Clearly, this didn't mean that tutors couldn't come by.
"Good evening, Louise Belcher." Jeremy greeted.
"Mr. Belpois, what are you doing here?" Louise asked. "More importantly, why are you all here?"
"We just came by to say hello." Odd spoke. "After all, why can't a tutor speak to their students?"
"Because it's kind of weird to do it in the evening?" The nine-year-old said.
"Louise, who's at the door?" Linda called from upstairs.
"They're the tutors we got at Wagstaff!" She said.
"Well, let them in!" The woman said. "I kinda want to meet them now!"
Shortly after they had entered the Belcher's home, the Lyoko Warriors and Sissi sat down in the living room with the family. Louise and Gene were standing up, wondering just why their new tutors had come to visit them. Tina was sitting on the couch, being seated between both Odd and Sissi. Bob was sitting on the floor, where Ulrich, Jeremy, and Aelita sat opposite of him. As for Linda, she was sitting by the wall with Yumi and William. The Belchers were eager to talk to the teenagers, though they wanted to be as professional as they possibly could.
"So, what do you think?" Linda asked, referring to the house.
"This is a lovely place, Mrs. Belcher." Aelita said.
"Pretty cool place, if not a little small." Odd stated.
"It could use some updates," Sissi said, "but as long as it's safe, it's a great house."
"A little backhanded, but thank you." Bob said.
Seeing as there was a conversation going on, Gene and Louise decided to ask what was on their minds. They didn't want to seem rude, but their curiosity and the familiarity of the tutors was eating away at their minds.
"Hey, Jeremy, do you ever have weird dreams at night?" Louise asked.
"I've had a few where Odd melted into a pile of slime, and even one where everyone was invisible." Jeremy said. "Other than that, no."
"Well," the nine-year-old said, "Gene and I have been seeing you and the others in our dreams."
"Really?" The teen asked.
"What kinds of dreams?" Odd asked.
"In the dreams I had, I was in a forest or something." Gene said. "As I began walking through it, I saw some white building with huge wires coming out of it. I wanted to go near it, but some weird cockroach-like creatures began to fire at me. Before any of them could kill me, someone destroyed them. When I saw who saved me, I noticed that it was all of you, except you were wearing weird outfits."
Upon hearing that, the Lyoko Warriors looked at each other for a moment. Given how they had fought X.A.N.A back at the factory near Kadic Academy, it seemed impossible that Gene would have dreams about Lyoko. It was strange, but it had also raised a red flag. The group couldn't help but wonder if X.A.N.A had somehow attacked several nights before, but that idea left their heads. The AI had only messaged them yesterday, so it didn't seem likely. But, despite the message only reaching the group as of late, they felt that their longtime enemy was on the move again.
"You know what?" Jeremy spoke. "I just remembered that we have something to take care of back at Wagstaff!"
"Right, we have to get stuff together for tomorrow." Ulrich said, knowing what Jeremy was doing.
"In that case, we should get going." Aelita stated.
"We gotta go, Mr and Mrs. Belcher!" Odd said. "We'll talk to you some other time!"
"Okay," Linda said, "see you around!"
"Bye." Bob said, somewhat bewildered by how the tutors were ready to leave so quickly.
"Bye, everyone!" Yumi said.
"Take care!" William said.
"See you at school tomorrow, kids!" Sissi said.
As the Lyoko Warriors walked down the stairs, with Sissi being the last to leave, the Belcher children wound up talking to their parents.
"Kids, you were kinda rude to the new tutors." Bob said.
"C'mon, you don't find anything suspicious about this whole thing?" Louise asked.
"It might seem weird that tutors were just selected out of the blue and told to come to Wagstaff, but they seem interested in helping out the students." The Belcher patriarch said.
"But what about the dreams I had?" Gene spoke. "It can't be coincidental that I saw our new tutors in them."
"I know I'll be seeing the boys in my dreams." Tina said, feeling happy for being around the male tutors.
"Gene," Linda said, "I'm sure that your dreams were coincidental. Besides, dreams are just movies made of your thoughts."
"You guys should probably talk to your tutors before they head back to Wagstaff, because you weirded them out." Bob said.
Agreeing to do so, Tina lead both Gene and Louise outside, hoping that the tutors hadn't gone away. Much to her surprise, the group was right outside the door. However, they seemed to be in the middle of a conversation, given how they didn't notice the Belcher children coming out of the house. Tina was about to interrupt, but Louise shushed her, feeling intrigued about the conversation. The Belcher siblings listened in on their new tutors, wondering what they could've been talking about. What they heard, however, was nothing short of a surprise.
"I still don't get it," Odd spoke, "how can they have dreams about Lyoko when they've never been there?"
"Yeah," Ulrich said, "it doesn't seem likely that your multi-agent program missed a Replika when you launched it, Jeremy."
"And it seems unlikely that X.A.N.A attacked here before." Yumi said.
"Well, X.A.N.A's taken up residence here, so maybe he could've affected their minds without them realizing it." Jeremy said.
"But Lyoko could only be accessed on the supercomputer back home," Aelita spoke, "how could X.A.N.A have attacked here?"
"Maybe he wanted to send a message to everyone before destroying the planet, like an evil alien!" Gene spoke.
Upon hearing Gene's voice, the Lyoko Warriors turned around. Sissi was already facing the Belcher siblings, but she didn't say anything to them. With the children near them, the group had no idea what to say. Assuming Tina, Gene, and Louise hadn't heard everything, then they would have to find a way to get them to forget about the conversation. Without a clue as to where X.A.N.A had contacted them from in Seymour's Bay, and if there was a supercomputer in town, the Lyoko Warriors couldn't use a Return to the Past. Given how Sissi was with them as well, they knew that they would be in a lot of trouble.
"How long were you standing there?" Jeremy asked.
"About as long as you have." Tina said.
"Who the hell is X.A.N.A?" Louise asked.
"And what's Lyoko?" Gene asked.
"It's nothing, guys." Ulrich said. "You should probably head to bed for the night."
"Yeah," Odd spoke, "you have a day full of tutoring ahead of you, and we wouldn't want you to feel sleepy!"
"Okay." Tina, Gene, and Louise chorused.
Believing that the Belcher children had agreed to do so, the Lyoko Warriors and Sissi walked down the street. Knowing that the tutors weren't going in the direction of Wagstaff, Louise had a feeling that something was up. Taking her two older siblings aside, the bunny-eared girl told them that she had a plan. Said plan involved following the new tutors to where they were going. Tina and Gene were reluctant at first, until Louise offered to do their chores and promised to give them some of her candy. With them complying, she lead them after the teenagers, wondering where they were going, and eager to find out what was really going on.
Meanwhile, the Lyoko Warriors were walking near the Wonder Wharf boardwalk. There were still people out at night, so the teenagers knew that they weren't alone. However, that wasn't the main priority at the moment. As they followed Jeremy through the boardwalk, the group was unsure as to why they seemed to be wandering aimlessly. He just told them to follow him, not really explaining where they needed to go. Sissi in particular was curious, feeling intrigued by the conversation they were having earlier, and wondering why they were quick to brush it off to the Belcher children.
"Hey, Jeremy, I have to ask, does this have anything to do with that weird email you received back at Kadic?" She asked.
"You saw that, too?" Jeremy asked.
"I didn't just see it, I got it in MY email!" Sissi said. "I was about to tell my father, but he brought up the tutor thing."
"X.A.N.A messaged you?" Odd spoke. "That's a surprise!"
"Yeah, we didn't let you into the group until after we made the decision to shut down the supercomputer." Aelita said.
"Look, I just want to know what Lyoko is, and who X.A.N.A is." Sissi stated. "And no more denying that they exist!"
"Alright, but you have to promise to keep it a secret." Odd said.
"I'll keep it a a secret, but you still have to explain yourselves." She said.
"Lyoko is a virtual world that we went to back at Kadic whenever the world was in danger." Yumi said. "As for X.A.N.A, he was responsible for the attacks on Earth, and going to Lyoko was the only effective way to stop them for the time being."
"If this X.A.N.A guy was bad news, why didn't you just call the cops on him?" The brunette asked. "More importantly, why didn't you call the cyber police?"
"It's not that simple." Ulrich said. "X.A.N.A is much more powerful than any force in the world. He was even able to survive a program that would've destroyed him for good."
"And he's able to do all sorts of stuff, such as possessing people and short-circuiting technology to do his bidding." William said.
"He sent the message from this town, but we have no way to determine where he would've sent it from." Odd said.
"What do you mean by that?" Sissi asked.
"We have no idea what X.A.N.A used to send a message to us from." Aelita said. "It seems unlikely that there would be a supercomputer in town like the one we used to go to Lyoko back home."
"Actually," Jeremy spoke, "I managed to track down the address that was attached to X.A.N.A's email while we were at Wagstaff."
"Really?" Yumi asked.
"Where?" Ulrich asked.
"It's going to be somewhere you didn't expect." The spectacled blonde said.
Note: Where could X.A.N.A have sent the email from? Will the Lyoko Warriors find a supercomputer there, or not? Will the Belcher children find out what their new tutors are up to? Is Sissi going to keep her promise about staying quiet about Lyoko? Will she go to Lyoko if there's a supercomputer in Seymour's Bay? What dastardly plan could X.A.N.A be cooking up?
Geez, this took longer to write than I expected. Sorry for keeping you all waiting. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the chapter, and I intend to keep on going. Maybe I'll make the next chapter shorter. Until next time, guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace!
