For as long as he could remember, Christmastime just felt like another commercialized holiday for Jack. While everybody in the city of Zootopia would be out and about, enjoying the merriest season of them all, he found himself not wishing to take part in as much of it as everyone else was.

Sure, he put up a little bit of decorations that he had with him, and kept the cards that some of his friends would send him as the days went by. But that was where his Christmas spirit always seemed to reach its end. Rather than counting the days until the holiday arrived to celebrate it, he counted down for the moment that all of it went away until it came back up again.

For as long as he could remember, Jack always perceived it as nothing more than another day on the calendar that was on the wall of his office. A day where everyone rushed to the malls and spent money frivolously on gifts that never truly held any special meaning.

He only thought that about Christmas, that is, until a certain vixen came into his life.

Skye was pretty much the poster kit for how to celebrate Christmas to fullest.

As soon as holly wreaths stared sprouting up all over, on the front doors of stores and houses alike, she could be seen taking the sight of them in with the widest of grins. Unlike the other employees that worked in the same department store as her, she actually enjoyed the holiday music the store played, even if it was throughout the day until she clocked out and went home. And there was nothing quite like enjoying the city glowing with holiday lights after the sun went down, which gave her that same sense of joy it gave her back when she was little.

It ended up shocking her a bit when she found out that Jack hadn't been very fond of the holiday season for so long. It sounded unheard of for somebody so full of Christmas cheer like her. She was determined to show him that it was so much more than he believed it was.

"What you need to do is take a trip to that festival held in Savannah Central," she said to him during one of their dates. "If that doesn't get somebody in the mood for the season, then I don't know what will. You can quote me on it that you'll enjoy it more than you thought you would."

While he had never been to it before since he had moved to the city, he simply agreed to head to the event she was telling him about. After all, it wasn't like it would end up becoming something that he would wait all year round for.

Much to his surprise, several years down the road, the festival in Savannah Central became something he waited all year round for once it was over. It was pretty much impossible not to smile when you were walking around the spots in the park that were designed to look like a village during Christmas.

I always thought these things around the city were kinda nice, he thought to himself, still in disbelief about his previously view on the holiday.

After getting enjoying some kettle corn made by one of the food vendors, Jack and Skye walked together as they both enjoyed the rest of the evening. The striped rabbit ended up spotting a short line of mammals waiting to get inside of a tent posted up in the middle of the field of grass.

It was then that he started to jump up and down like a child upon seeing presents left for them on Christmas morning. "Look, Skye," he said as he pointed towards the tent. "They're hosting a show of Christmas trees over there. Can we go see it? Can we?"

Skye could only chuckle at the enthusiasm the jackrabbit was expressing just then. "Of course," she replied with her soft voice, entwining her paw with his as she lead the two of them to the line outside. "Let's go check it out."

The buck stared back tenderly into the bright blue eyes of the arctic vixen, holding onto her paw tightly as a warm smile coalesced on his face.

Jack from years ago would have told the present him that he was ridiculous for thinking he would be this excited about this kind of thing. But now he found himself wanting to looking at every Christmas light in town. Decorate the biggest and best tree that they could find for their home. Sing along at the top of his lungs to every Christmas carol alongside his companion, not caring what anybody else thought of his not-so-great voice.

He was fully renewed with the holiday spirit, and he owed it all to the greatest vixen that someone could ask for.

Author's Note: Hey there, readers! I know this wasn't that great, but I felt like trying to write something that was about Jack and Skye this time around and came up with this in a short amount of time. I had some other Christmas stories that I had planned, but I'll probably be sharing them a little bit later than I expected after realizing that I started to work on them a little too late. Pretty sure some of you won't mind a little more holiday fluff and the like even after Christmas is over, though, since there's no such thing as too much Christmas. :)

'Til next time, everybody! :)
