With Christmas in full swing just about everywhere that they went, it wasn't much later that Nick and Judy both got in the spirit. With the apartment adorned with the decorations that they had, the tree with all of its twinkling lights being the centerpiece of their place to welcome the season, what followed was the rather tougher thing for them to do for the upcoming holiday, and that was getting the shopping done for everyone she knew.

Judy sat quietly at the dining room table, signing the last of the Christmas cards that she had to write. Once she sealed it up tight in its festively red envelope and got its address written on it, she leaned back in her chair for a moment before grabbing the to-do lost she had scribbled earlier in the afternoon.

"Okay..." she mumbled to herself, checking off what she had written for her to do in time for the holidays. "So, the cards are all written out. I'll drop those all off before Nick and I have duty. Still gotta figure out what-"

The faint sound of a jingling bell caught her attention in the midst of her trail of thought. She turned herself around with perked ears to see none other than her fox standing next to the Christmas tree. He held a package in his paws that had been wrapped up in snowflake-patterned paper, holding it up to his ear as it lightly shook it to try and get an idea of what was inside like a mischievous kit.

"Hey," Judy chuckled. "Put that present down."

Nick, having been seen doing this, casually placed the wrapped box back underneath the tree, nestling it where it had been before. "Guess I was caught in the act," he replied. "That bell you placed on the top of it as decoration was what gave me away."

The doe seated at the table grinned back at him. "The very reason I placed it on there."

"Sly bunny. Guess you outfoxed the fox this time," Nick admitted as he stepped away from the tree and strolled over towards her. "Got all the cards ready to be mailed?"

"All done," answered Judy before returning her attention back to the little piece of paper containing her list on it. "Still have to wrap up some of those gifts I was sending back home. My little sister's going to be super excited when she opens up that stuffed animal we got for her. You mind grabbing that for me so I can get it wrapped?"

"Sure thing, Carrots." Nick walked back out to the room and elsewhere in the apartment, returning with a green stuffed platypus wearing a brown hat.

"Thanks," said Judy as she went to the living room. Still in the mood to get what she needed to done in the timeliest fashion possible, she got got her gift wrapping supplies ready. "Oh, and I sent out some of the gifts for our friends out a little earlier this year. Since the-"

The phone she left on the dining room table started to ring just as she started to unravel some of the wrapping paper from its roll. Though she had just sat down to get to work on the presents for some of her younger siblings, she got up and headed back over to see who was calling. Just as she was on the topic of it, the caller happened to be one of the mammals that decided to send her Christmas gift to earlier since it was something that couldn't wait until then.

"Hello?" chimed Judy upon answering the phone.

"Oh... my... gosh..." an excited and high-pitched voice squeaked. "This was such an amazing surprise! Thank you so much!"

The rabbit laughed happily at the enthusiasm of her shrew friend Fru Fru on the other end of the phone. "Well, 'tis the season for giving," she responded. "And I just had to get you and your family something special after you sent us that lovely gift basket."

The gift basket she pertained to sat on the kitchen counter, the container itself and what was inside of it being very small for mammals her and Nick's size. Her fox now stood next to it while holding one of the tiny bottles that came inside of it in his paw, careful not to accidentally spill what was inside. He tried pouring the beverage within it into the glass on the counter next to him, which was nothing but a few sheer drips in the bottom of it.

The basket's contents, an assortment of Little Rodentia's fancier food and drink, might have been a big supply for a shrew like her friend was, but it wasn't exactly the same for a rabbit like her, being much taller than that. Despite that, though, she was grateful for the thoughtful Christmas package nonetheless.

"I know it wasn't much," Judy continued, "but I'm glad to hear you like it."

"Are you kidding?"

"Your timing of sending those desserts couldn't have been more perfect," Fru Fru remarked as she walked away from the noise in the other side of the room. The classical music, tinkering of glasses, and conversations between guests was making it difficult to hear where she stood before. "We're actually having our Christmas party today, and those cookies will make the perfect thing to serve the guests."

"Nick was the one who found that place," Judy replied on the other end of her phone. "He said a box of those is the gift that keeps on giving the whole holiday season."

"Well, tell him he's right," the shrew complimented while on her way to the kitchen, where the desserts she spoke of were being prepared. As she got a whiff of the vanilla scent of the sweet treats, she added, "Oh, they smell just like the sweetbread they used to make at Gusteau's. Anyway, I've got a lot of party guests that I gotta help serve. Thanks again... Merry Christmas, you guys."

After she hung up and placed her phone back into her pocket, she walked back up to the main table where preparations were being made. Across the entire surface of it laid a giant vanilla sugar cookie, decorated with sprinkles and light blue icing, that was in the shape of a snowflake. Several servers in professional attire started to cut small pieces out of it like sawyers trying to cut through timber, placing the pieces onto pretty plates before walking out to where the party was in full swing.

The sweet treat, coming from a bakery elsewhere in the city, was something that could be eaten in a few bites for the taller mammals in Zootopia. For a shrew like her, though, it was an entirely different story. This cookie alone would certainly feed all of her guests, not to mention some of the others treats that came with that one when they got delivered.

"Wow, Mommy," said Fru Fru's kit as she wandered into the kitchen over to where she was standing, eyes aglow. "That's a lot of dessert!"

Fru Fru giggled and turned over to her daughter. "There sure is, Judy," she said to her merrily. "And there's more than just that too."

With that, her and her family made their way back out to join everybody else in the festivities that came once a year.

Author's Note: Finally got to a Christmas themed story! Yay! :D

Decided to come up with this one after I was watching the scene again where Nick and Judy are at Fru Fru's wedding celebration. Since shrews and the like are much smaller compared to Judy or Nick, I figured a gift from them would be quite big to Fru Fru and a gift from her would be quite tiny in size to them. Wanted to write something around that idea and so I came up with this in time for the holidays.

'Til next time! :)
