Agent Jack Savage crept from behind the tall bushes, the once-silvery building now in his sight. He had gotten recent word regarding activity that, when traced back by his fellow agents back at their inner-city headquarters, seemed to be coming from this location. After managing to stealthily find his way to the spot and stay out of the sight of those wanting to have him out of the picture, the agent was now ready to bring an end to yet another attempt of causing chaos within the city.

The mission that had been given to the striped jackrabbit seemed like some of the other ones he had been given in the past: Find the one who had something up their sleeve and stop them before it was too late. However, when he learned that who he needed to stop was considered the biggest nemesis to the bureau of secret agents he was affiliated with, he knew things would be a bit more difficult.

The nemesis was an ovine by the name of Swinton, and she had quite a track record of nefariously devising ideas with nothing but evil intent. She was, without doubt, a mammal with a high intelligence quotient that could have had a bright future in using her knowledge for the greater good of all animals, but it was obvious that that was never her intentions from the start. She might have been foiled multiple times by several other agents over time, but this time she swore that she wouldn't be stopped again.

With a click of a button atop of his watch, Jack held it up closer to him and sent the message back to who gave him his mission. "This is Savage. I am at the target location."

"Excellent work, Agent Savage," a burly voice replied, coming from his watch. "It's important you remain vigilant when you approach where Swinton is hiding. We know from the past that she has more than a few bodyguards positioned to keep what she's up to from being compromised."

"Affirmative," responded the rabbit. "I'll try and get inside now. I'll notify you if anything unusual happens along the way."

Jack placed the pair of high-powered binoculars he had with him over his eyes, scanning the area up ahead to see where some of the ovine's guards were at the moment. As he started to zoom in further, the lenses becoming longer like those on a camera when it was being adjusted, he started to see a potential point in which he could avoid being spotted.

From there, though, he was going to have to use his wits and the quick thinking he mastered along the way to avoid being caught by one of Swinton's guards.

He removed the binoculars from his eyes as they returned to their original size, placing them back into his pocket that he had gotten them out of a moment ago. Reaching into the pocket of his jet-black coat, he retrieved his trusty tranquilizer gun and started to walk from out of his hiding spot.

"Showtime..." he whispered to himself, completely determined to stop Swinton and make the other agents proud.

The muscular bodyguard, a tall tiger that looked like someone not to be messed with, continued to make his paces around the vicinity he had been instructed to secure. He carefully scanned the perimeter before heading back to where he had started, on his toes and expecting the unexpected to appear.

Footsteps from up ahead stopped him in his track, and he retrieved his pistol and loaded it with a tranquilizer dart. While it was pretty foolish for someone to be wandering around so close to where he had been positioned (or where any of the guards had been placed for that matter), he couldn't say that he wasn't prepared on every level to handle this sort of situation.

He glanced to his left and then to his right, not spotting anything that could have made that sound within his vision. He grunted under his breath as he became confused; he was certain he heard something that was as clear as day

It was then that he saw something shimmer unanticipatedly onto the grass in front of him. It was a small misshapen splotch of light, which started to move around from one spot to the other. The tiger immediately let his guard down in that moment, becoming unexpectedly entranced by this unknown moving light. He ran up toward it as if it were going to stop moving once he did so, only for it to zip over to his right. He then ran over to his right just as it started to move away elsewhere, causing him to become mad but more determined to stop it.

The tall feline started to abandon his original post as he hunted it down, and from around the corner emerged Jack with a smug grin on his face. In his paw was a laser pointer that continued to emit a brightly-colored beam of light onto the ground far away from him, which was what the tiger was currently after.

Can't believe that actually worked, Jack thought, shaking his head at the surprising luck that he had just then. He guessed that it was true that felines all had the same instincts no matter what species within their group they were.

With nobody in his sight, the buck quickly looked both ways and started to sprint up ahead. While he tried to be as fast as he possibly could, he tried to make a whole lot of noise to ensure he wouldn't be easily detectable.

It was as he neared another set of posts that led up to the main entrance to the building that he started to slow down, returning to vigilant baby steps a few seconds later. His ears perked as he heard someone talking to himself up ahead, coming from behind a tall box that was over to the left of him. Jack quickly looked for a spot to hide and ducked down, just as a hyena bodyguard emerged from behind the box and surveyed his surroundings. When the guard returned to where he had been hiding, the rabbit silently sighed with relief and started to walk forward while remaining a bit crouched.

He managed to get midway to where he needed to be when he heard yet another voice come out of nowhere. "Hey!" it exclaimed in a demanding tone of voice. "Just where do you think you're goin', buddy?"

Jack looked over at a wolf in the same uniform as the other bodyguards, who actually seemed to be shaking despite sounding like he meant business. "I have an important matter to attend to," he answered vaguely.

"You don't want to have our boss come and take care of you on her own," the wolf returned, his voice now becoming more nervous-sounding than it just was seconds ago. It was then that he slowly started to inch forward without any sort of weapon on him, as if he were hoping that the sight of a wolf with claws would frighten the trespasser off. "She does not handle unwanted guests too-"

The canid yipped when he felt a pinch hit him just then, coming from the tranquilizer dart fired by Jack while he was focused on his spiel and unaware of other things. The guard started to become unbalanced and wobbled on his paws, falling to the ground with a heavy thud shortly afterwards.

Jack knew that the dart would have him unable to stop him right then and there, but he still needed to act fast. Surely the guards nearby will hear him and try to bring an end to his operation.

The striped bunny immediately started to run on nimble paws towards the entrance of the building. As he was nearing it, he swapped what he was holding onto for the grappler gun hook that was always useful in situations like these. He quickly calculated the trajectory in which he needed to send the hook, and with the press of a button sent it flying outward on a long line of monofilament wire.

Swinton laughed to herself as she finished applying another coat of red lipstick, returning to managing some of the other much smaller assistant that she had working around the inside of her spacious hideout. Things were a hundred percent underway and going smoothly, and she honestly couldn't have been more pleased at that.

As her lemming assistants ran back and forth on their little legs, helping one another out at making sure everything around the space was to her liking, she stood there with pride as she rubbed her hooves together.

"Listen up, everyone," she proclaimed boldly, getting everyone's full attention. "Sooner than we all thought, the time for us to celebrate us finally getting what we always wanted to-"

A clang of something metallic cut through the space and interrupted her in the middle of her speech, and she turned her head to the side to see that a steel grille had fallen to the ground from the ceiling above. Her lemming assistant all jabbered to one another frantically, swearing that it had been mounted perfectly up there, and they started to see the figure of a lagomorph swooped down from the hole that had been left.

"Pardon me," said the striped rabbit, slyly grinning over at her. "Perhaps I should have remembered my manners and decide not to intrude at what looks like something highly important to you. And by the way, I'd like to compliment you on how you've put this place together."

"If it isn't Agent Jack Savage?" Swinton remarked, seemingly in a good mood despite him managing to find a way inside. She knew that he was simply trying to make her irritated with his words, but she wasn't going to predictably be that way. "You know, it's so funny you're here because I was just thinking that you would go through the trouble of finding me. Care to watch my master plot unfold before your eyes?"

"That's not going to happen, Swinton," replied Jack. "I'm not going to let you do what you have planned to the city this time."

"Oh, is that so?" the pig chuckled upon receiving such a powerful response from the bunny. She slammed down a hoof onto a nearby button, and behind where she stood appeared a series of satellite images of various places around the city, one in each of the popular districts. "Now that that satellite in space is hovering perfectly over Zootopia, all it'll take is one blast of my reconfigured creation and your precious city will be frozen in time. Pretty great, if you ask me, because literally nobody can prevent my minions from pulling off the next step in my plan."

"And what would that be, Ms. Swinton?" inquired the rabbit, pretending to be literally curious while actually smiling back at her.

"You've probably heard of that extravagant deposit that was placed in the paws of a certain bank just outside of Savannah Central, that enormous jewel that was left there after the declaration was made that they have the highest level of security. That jewel's not just some tiny one they use for a wedding ring. Not at all. That beauty is almost forty thousand karats." Swinton's eyes were glowing at the sheer facts that she was spilling out. "Forty thousand karats... Have you got any idea what sort of riches that will bring me? And I'm not even counting what I'll get from any of the gold or other things that they've stored there."

"And don't forget silver," squeaked one of her lemming minions.

"Yeah, and what about diamonds?" another chimed in. "They're so shiny!"

Swinton rolled her eyes, grunting under her breath before glaring back at the two that had rudely interrupted her. "Yes, guys," she sighed, "we won't forget to take either of those. Now, what was I saying before two certain lemmings who should mind their own business decided to be part of my conversation? Oh, yeah." She turned her attention back over to the jackrabbit agent. "Getting my hooves on that will be like taking candy from a baby once the whole city's frozen like a statue. They won't be so secure when none of their armed guards can move at all to stop us."

"You won't get away with this, Swinton," remarked Jack as he shook his head.

The ovine laughed giddily at his determination. "Sure, you might've foiled me when the rest of your crew was there to help you out. But it's all of my assistants versus one this time."

"Make that two!" someone called out.

Jack turned around when he heard somebody familiar coming from behind him. Standing up above from a metallic platform near a set of stairs was a certain vixen with white fur, donning an elegant black gown with cut-out at the waist.

"Skye!" Jack called out when she saw her face.

"Bet you're surprised to see me here, huh, Jack?" Skye replied as she smiled back at him.

The buck was happily surprised to see her in the middle of this moment, but he couldn't help but also think of how stunning she looked just then. She, of course, looked beautiful in any particular outfit she wore when on a mission to him, but this one was the prettiest he had seen her in. "What are you doing here?" he asked.

The vixen from above didn't bother to run toward the stairs and instead leapt from the platform and swiftly stuck a landing not too far away from where he was standing, tail swishing as she looked over at him. "I persuaded the others to let me come assist you just after you left," she explained. "You know when you had to come rescue me after I fell for one of Claw's stupid traps?"

"Yes." Jack nodded as he recalled that particular moment, where she had stepped directly into where a previous villain had something intentionally planned. Lucky for her then, though, he managed to save her and stop who needed to be stopped at the same time. "What about it?"

"Well," Skye replied, "consider this me paying you back for that. Still can't believe I idiotically thought he would've left something out in the open and not think there was a trap directly above it."

Swinton was less than amused at the vixen appearing, huffing and puffing like a young kit with a troublesome temper. Her trying to mask her irritation had completely faded away. "Great! Now there's another one that decided to swoop in unannounced." Looking at her crew of lemmings, she pointed to the rabbit and vixen and said, "Make yourselves useful for once and stop those two!"

The army of lemmings from all across the space, upon hearing the command of their boss, joined together and started to run forward. One of them might have been an easy thing to dodge, but they had no idea what a whole crew of them had been trained by Swinton to do. It was quite possible that she had trained them in taking down or disarming mammals by working together.

Swinton looked down at her arm as if she were checking the time on a watch, tapping her wrist. "The clock is ticking..." she mocked. "Zootopia will be frozen in one measly minute and you'll be too late to do something about it. Guess you aren't that special of agents after all, huh?"

Skye looked over at Jack, a game plan already developed. "You go stop whatever Swinton's up to," she told him. "I'll take care of them."

"Got it," the striped rabbit replied. "I'll redirect the coordinates of her laser's trajectory, making it beam over her place instead of in the middle of the city."

"Smart thinking," complimented Skye. "Now go and do that before it's too late."

Jack running toward the stairs that led to the platform she had come from. From what labels were placed across the doors that led to other rooms from up there, he knew that other equipment and stuff was kept behind them. That was where he needed to go if he was going to prevent Zootopia from becoming a victim of the ovine's charades.

The tough part for him, though, lied within figuring out how to change where her laser that supposedly froze things in time would fire at. Knowing the latitude and longitude of places like he did wasn't exactly going to come in handy for him when this involved machinery that he didn't know to operate since it was not his own devising.

Skye, meanwhile, started to take a fighting stance like martial artists did in the movies, ready to fight off the incoming lemmings before her. Alongside all of the skills she possessed in her line of work, she additionally contained some knowledge in different styles of fighting, which came in quite handy throughout the years.

Time to put some of that kung fu training of mine I took on the side to use, she thought.

Later That Evening...

"And then he ran in and made Swinton's machine aim at her own laboratory," Skye continued as she told the story of the mission that was accomplished, laughing alongside the other agents around her.

"She was definitely not happy about it when she saw what was going to happen," Jack added. "She just scowled at us and shouted out, 'This isn't over, Agent Savage!' as we both made a run for it to avoid being frozen ourselves. Then, of course, I sent the message back up here and Alina and Maria flagged the place down to escort Swinton back to authorities once again."

Now that the long day of work had been wrapped up for now, Jack and Skye found themselves back in the safety of the tower that served as their agency's center of operations. After all that had happened earlier, it felt nice to finally unwind and discuss what had happened in the company of the other agents that had completed their own assignments.

The two had finished up talking with the moose coworker before walking back over to another spot of the room, both of them carrying plates of food that had served themselves from a nearby table. Just as they did whenever the day was done, they helped themselves to some of the dishes that some of the agents that knew about cooking prepared. On their plates was what looked like a dumpling that had a filling of mushroom and cabbage when they dug into it.

Jack, finally glad to eat something after all of the action was over with, took a bite and nodded his head. Just as he was about to say how great it tasted, he saw the brown bear that made the dish for everyone come walking over and decided to tell him. "Viktor, this has got to be the most exquisite thing I have ever tasted," he complimented.

"What is this?" Skye asked afterwards, her mouth still full with the dish. "it's really good."

The bear named Viktor smiled back at them. "Glad you like it," he replied. "It's a family recipe from my home country. I'll have to write it down and share it with you."

It was just then that an older lion came over to where the rabbit was standing, pouring a glass of cider from a bottle that he was carrying with him. "Congratulations, Agent Savage," he said. "You did an excellent job at once again making sure that Swinton couldn't wreak havoc."

"Well, I must give credit where it's due, sir," Jack replied before looking back at the vixen to his side. "I wouldn't have been able to do it all had it not been for Skye helping me out there."

"I'm always happy to help," returned Skye.

The lion walked away as the rest of the mammals within the headquarters were talking amongst themselves, enjoying their own glass of the same cider that he had poured for himself.

After they had finished what was on their plates and relaxed for a moment, Jack took Skye by the paw as the two walked over to a large observatory window that overlooked the entire cityscape. No matter what time of day it was, seeing Zootopia from as many stories up as they were was incredibly breathtaking compared to just seeing it down on the street.

"This was more excitement I've had than the day I was assigned to recover that stolen object for that museum," Skye remarked. "You know, that one that got taken from that raccoon that wore that blue cap and always had that cane with him?"

Jack laughed as he remembered that mission of hers. "Oh, I remember that," he said. "And he had that crew with him too."

"How long do you think it will be until Swinton manages to escape prison again and try something new?" wondered Skye in response.

The striped leporine shrugged his shoulders with uncertainty. "I'm not sure," he answered. "Something tells me it'll be some time before she possibly returns, though. That's only my guess."

They both stared out as those down below walked along the sidewalks and road up and down the road in their cars, everything peaceful and the way it should be. Thanks to their efforts at putting a stop to Swinton, the threat of the city become frozen in time and a robbery of big proportions taking place was all gone. That was all in the past now, and they were happy that citizens could return to their homes and families without any fear now just as they could.

"Those lights that make the city glow every night," Jack started to remark, turning around to look gently into the bright blue eyes of the vulpine. "They are nowhere near as beautiful as the smile of the lady standing right beside me. You've brought so much brightness into my life from the moment we both began working together."

Skye chuckled at the sentimental rabbit. "Aww, Jack..."

"I love you more than life itself," replied the rabbit before standing up, the two of them wrapping each other's arms around them tightly as they tenderly kissed.

"I love you too, Jack..."

"Jack..." Skye repeated for the second time in a row, but the rabbit still remained in deep sleep, mumbling to himself. "Jack!"

When she raised her voice a bit that Jack was disturbed from his sleep and opened his eyes, lifting his head as he groggily looked over at where she was standing with her arms crossed.

"Oh, Skye," he said as he rubbed his eyes. "I just woke up from such a crazy dream."

"It wasn't the one where you're in the house that's always getting bigger as you keep walking through it, was it? That one where there's always a clown in it somewhere?"

Jack shook his head. "No, this wasn't crazy in a bad way. In a good way, actually. There was a whole lot of action and... We were both secrets agents of some sort and they called me Agent Savage."

"Well, Agent Savage," replied Skye before pointing to the alarm clock on his stand, "are you going to sleep the day away?"

The rabbit glanced over at the numbers on the clock, eyes widening in shock when he saw just how long he had slept in just then. "Oh my gosh. Good thing you woke me up or else I would've been late."

"Mm-hmm," the vixen responded, knowing that this was true. "Lucky for you, I got some coffee brewed in advance."

"Thanks, Skye..." Jack pulled himself out of bed to get himself ready for the rest of the day ahead of him, the long dream of him being an agent now pushed aside.

Author's Note: Hey there, everyone! This was a story that I had a bit of fun coming up with tonight. I really wanted to write something with the idea of Jack Savage being a secret agent and so I came up with this. I originally had it set as a holiday-themed tale for New Year's Day, where Swinton was trying to ruin the celebration, but I later changed it to what this is.

I tried to write this like the old spy and secret agent movies and such, just as I did with the superhero story I did for Christmas, and I hoped that I did a good job at capturing that feel for this. :)

As always, let me know what your thoughts are on this. Your feedback, whether good or bad, is gladly appreciated.

'Til next time! :)
