Volume 2 Promo

The cat clock on the wall ticks repetitively, its eyes darting back and forth. Michael reclined on a red couch with his neck against the armrest, staring at the ceiling while a formally dressed woman sat on the opposite side. All throughout the Elizabethan-style room, the two were surrounded by bookcases, each one containing books on psychology and the human brain.

The doctor adjusted her glasses, smiling calmly while looking at the young man. "Grief and loss have always impaired and affected our choices in life. It makes us do things we never wanted to do before, make big choices that take us out of our comfort zones, and seek out comforts from other people, either good or bad. And as the saying goes, time heals all wounds. However, when he decided to resume our session, I was a bit elated but at the same time perturbed. Why such a change of heart? Has there been a significant change since the last time we spoke?" Questioned Dr. Green, her tone laced with worry and confusion.

The coffee table in the center was their only divider as the woman observed and took notes from a distance. However, what she wrote down was none too flattering and more troublesome than it's worth. The young man shifted his gaze from the beige ceiling to his doctor, giving her an indifferent shrug.

"You could say that." Michael huffed, a weak smile etching his face while cupping his hands on his stomach, fingers tapping. "I met some interesting people, and they've turned my life around for the better."

His mind began to trail off, going down memory lane. From the first time he met the girls to the weird adventures they've had together, to saving their lives and losing a kidney to a bunch of psychopathic military G-Men, Michael remained unbothered by the ordeals he went through, thinking only the positive. The tears and laughter all of them shared, him finding love and appreciation in a long time. How much it gradually brought him out of his shell; it was the one thing he cherished the most.

Chewing on her pen, Dr. Green arched a brow. "And do you have any regrets? Do you wish things would be different, in one way or another?"

The scene changed as Michael and the girls were caught in the center of a battlefield, one directly outside the front lawn. Steven Universe and the Crystal Gems launched an assault on the Therman Residence. Michael dodged and landed blows on Steven Universe while Anne, Luz, and Tulip handled Pearl, Amethyst, and Garnet, respectively. Unfortunately, Michael and the girls barely stood a chance, their magical powers and physical feats barely making a dent. Portions of the house were destroyed, and divots and trenches formed in the gems' wake, knocking their opponents around quickly. The four were seemingly no match as the Crystal Gems gained the physical high ground.

"This is for all the lives you've taken," Steven shouted, teeth-baring while charging at Michael, bloodied and bruised.

Steven leaped and landed a killing blow, his whole body stopping when Michael swiftly grabbed his shield's edges, shocking the half-gem.

The scene shifted again. This time, Michael and the girls were standing in Boone's shopping district, faces mixed as a hooded woman in a red dress appeared before the gang, bystanders watching with shock and awe. The woman removed her hood, bowed with her prosthetic arm to her chest, and smiled at the four. The skull-headed familiar on her shoulders scurried off. Luz smiles as the creature jumps into her arms.

"Eda? King?" Luz gasped, recognizing the older yet foxy woman and her companion.

Eda smiled, a hand to her hip. "It's been a while kid. I'm glad you still remember the most powerful witch in the Boiling Isles."

The happy reunion then shifts to another conflict. An older Amity Blight was fighting Michael inside his living room. With her voluptuous figure adorned in a revealing lavender gown and long brunette and pink hair, the woman's furious glare juxtaposed her elegant beauty. She swung and thrashed her staff, Michael dashing and countering her. As she blasted her spells, it was difficult for the young man to move away. Furniture and trinkets were caught in the crossfire, but Amity didn't care. Collateral damage meant nothing, as her target was the young man who spurned her.

"You took her away from me," Amity accused as she twirled her staff, lightning bolts manifesting. "She was my girlfriend, and you think you can come and steal her like that? I'll teach you what happens when you cross a Blight!"

"Lady, you are really jumping to so many conclusions, it's amazing you're not even tired," Michael quipped irksomely, getting electrocuted as well.

From left to right, scenes changed swiftly like pages in a book. Michael, Luz, and Stan Pines confront Rorschach, fighting on a rooftop during a dark and stormy night. The young man and Stan were sitting in the living room, relaxing and passing the time before being interrupted by a flash of light, the Greek god Zeus hovering over and greeting the two. Another with Michael venturing into the sewers, Anne and Luz begrudgingly following, only to encounter a Super Mutant, hungry and angry. The creature chased the three, persistently hunting them throughout the catacombs. Tulip, Ford, and Lilith were working together on a secret project, one that would give them an edge over their enemies. At the same time, Tulip handed Michael a small metallic watch, strapped it to his wrist, and then gave him a deep and intimate kiss, both blushing.

Then everything goes dark, though not for long. All of Boone was on fire, and bystanders were running in terror. Everyone looked to the sky as a silhouette of a man cast upon them, his hands almost raised religiously outward at his sides while a cape flew behind. An ominous chuckle pierces through the silence as everyone, from Michael to the Pines family, gazes with looks of horror and searing hatred, dramatically so.

The silhouette spoke up, his voice echoing eerily. "You really don't know who you're dealing with, do you? Do you know who I am? I'm the greatest hero on this goddamn planet with all you sniveling mud people, and I get to do whatever the fuck I want?"

Finally, the scene returns to Dr. Greene's office. Michael looks back at her, shrugs, and gives her an answer: "Nah, I wouldn't change anything for the world."

A/N: Yeah, this isn't the start of Volume 2. This is simply a promo of what will happen or may happen in Volume 2. I'm still hammering everything in, but rest assured it still ongoing. Anyway, I hope you all like it, and if you can guess who that mysterious silhouette at the end with the cape, the one that everyone is looking at with hatred, then you'll win a cookie (not really). Also, Michael's going back to therapy because he's a big man who isn't afraid to talk about his problems.
