Unova Region, Nuvema Town
"Ah man..."
Black is standing in front of a mirror, fighting a losing battle against his most difficult opponent so far: a tie. Normally he wouldn't bother with it, but he's got extra incentive to do so right now.
While wrestling with his outfit, he begins to drift off a bit, remembering how he came to be in this position.
For years now, Black and White have still been working at her agency, although Black's more of a freelance assistant now. He had been traveling around the world for a while, visiting a few different regions. While training, he was able to get the word out about BW Agency as well. But something kept pulling him back home to the Unova region. His heart belongs there, and maybe to one particular individual? It didn't help when he kept seeing Couple trainers during his journeys, as they had him think a lot about White.
Now he was back home. There were always rumors about him and White as time went on, Bianca not helping, but never anything official going on between them. A change was needed.
Defeating Iris to become the Unova Champion gave Black the courage to finally ask White out on a date. And if this goes well, who knows what he'll have to do to muster up the courage to ask her to marry him...
*Ding Dong!*
Black is snapped back to reality by the sound of his doorbell ringing. Mentally steeling himself, he claps his hands on the side of his face, "Showtime!" But no amount of psyching up would prepare him for seeing his date.
Opening the door, there she was: White, in all her... pink glory?
Black almost swallowed his tongue, as she stepped into his house.
The word "poofy" comes to mind, with ruffles. White's pink and white dress was something Black never thought that he would ever see. And yet, familiar? The pink diamond design on the front of it gave the whole dress a unique design. Top it all off with a pink and white hat on her head that looks like a pink diamond as well, and it's no wonder White had been getting a lot of looks on the way to his house. She looks more like she belongs at a prom or wedding.
"What's wrong?" White asked this, puzzled by Black gawking at her. She then looked over herself. "Is this too much? I wanted to look good for our date..." A blush spread over her face as well.
"N-no," Black said, a blush growing on his face, "You look great!" That got a warm smile from her. But then a frown.
She scolded him, "Where were you? You were supposed to pick me up a while ago!"
Black blinked, "I'm late? What time is it?" He then looked at a nearby clock. "Oh! Um... whoops!" He laughed sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head. "My bad, I lost track of time!"
"I was worried about you," White mumbled softly, "Worried that you were off lost getting involved in something, so I had to come find you!"
Black apologized, explaining how he had been thinking about the past. He can be a bit impulsive, but White let it slide. She knew how he could be whenever he starts daydreaming.
White then sighed, looking Black up and down, "Look at you though, is this your first time wearing a suit?" His appearance was disheveled, and his tie still wasn't straight.
"Sorry, Boss."
White shook her head, "That won't do, please call me by my name!"
"Right... What's your name again?"
Her eyes narrowed. "Are you serious?"
"What? I'm used to calling you 'Boss"!" He then grinned, seeing her bewildered look. "I'm kidding, White."
She rolled her eyes, chuckling softly, "You're awful." But she wanted to help him out. "Come here."
What happened next was strange to Black. To anyone else, it would have just looked like a girl helping a guy straighten up his appearance. But with these two, it was something different. While White was indeed working on Black, the air around them felt strange to him. She had a small, soft smile on her face as she fixed him up, while not saying anything. While smoothing out the wrinkles and creases in his suit, her hands seemed to pause, and admire Black. He stood there, lost as he tried to figure out what was going on. It wasn't until White was finishing up with him, and straightened his tie, that things clicked.
For one thing, White was now standing extremely close to Black. She still had that same soft smile as before. But then, White's eyes drifted up to Black's, locking his into place with hers. The two gazed into each other's eyes, the warm and soft smile on White's face now spreading over to Black. He understood now.
Only one thing, or person, could be on Black's mind at this time:
"White White White White
White White White White
White White White White
White White White White..."
Sensing yet another brain overload from his trainer, Musha escaped his Poké Ball, ready to come to Black's aid.
Black put his hand out, and stopped Musha, catching him in midair. "No thanks buddy," he said with a grin on his face, "I've got it from here."
"Oh!" White let out a giggle. There's a part of his charm that she finds so irresistible, knowing how to say and do just the right things at the right times. She then asked softly, "Ready to go?" Black nodded, taking her arm with his. The two then headed off to their date.
If White wasn't already the center of his attention, she had now cemented herself there.
Years Later, Nuvema Town
Turns out, all Black had to do to ask White to marry him was wait for the right opportunity to come along. He had planned to do it when they were being interviewed on live tv about the Agency, but figured it was best not to shock her into making a rash decision. Instead, a little while later, White was beginning to make plans to expand and grow BW worldwide. The Agency was getting attention from all over the world. Black knew that if he didn't make his move soon, their interests and motivations would have the two of them moving in two different directions. While he was happy to help White whenever she needed it, these new opportunities weren't going to leave much time for them to have time for each other.
It sounds selfish, Black wanting White all to himself. But there were some negotiations involved. White would keep the Agency going in Unova, Black having Champion connections, helped. For global business, Black suggested outsourcing.
So now White gets to mostly sit at home, watching the money role in. This helped with their new role.
A little boy and girl are arguing at the BW household.
The girl, Rosa complained, "But we can't, we're too young to go on an adventure!"
Her brother, Nate mumbled, "Maybe you are..."
"We're twins!"
Nate is too much like their father, always rarin' to go on adventures. Rosa's more laid back and cautious, much like their mother. She prefers to work with Pokémon, rather than the idea of battling with them as Nate wants to. She has been spending a lot of time with her "aunt", Whi-two. She might even become an actress one day.
Nate shrugged, "How bad could it be?"
Rosa shook her head, "What would we do for things like food?"
"I know," Nate grinned, making Rosa take a step back and putting her hand up, "We'll eat those buns on your head. I want mine now!" With that he jumped on his sister, pretending to take a bite out of her hair bun. He then recoiled in fake horror, gasping, "Yuck! There's hair in mine!"
Rosa cried out, "Dad! Mom! Nate's being mean again!"
Nate laughs, throwing up a victory sign. Black put his hand on Rosa's head to reassure her, while also trying not to laugh at the kids antics. Rosa's not a huge fan of people teasing her about her cute, yet odd, choice of hairstyle.
White sighed, "Honestly, you two..."
Nate pouted, "Aw, we just wanna go have some fun."
"Listen to your sister." Black said this, thinking this would be the best way to handle things.
But White had a different idea. "Well actually..." She then pulled Black over to the side and whispered something to him. With his approval, White then turned back to their curious kids. "Alright, if you think you're ready to go on an adventure, then I'll contact Professor Juniper. You should go see her!"
Nate exclaimed, "Yay!" Rosa wasn't so thrilled. He then thanked their parents, pulling poor Rosa after him.
Watching their kids disappear down the street, heading off to the Professor's Lab, Black chuckled.
His wife hasn't changed one bit.
A few moments later...
"Hey wait..." Nate blinked, looked around and realized what was going on. Clutching the broom in his hand, he began to shake, and throw a fit. "This isn't the adventure I wanted to go on!" He thought that they were getting to pick out their starters, not... this!
Rosa was up on the second floor of Professor Juniper's Lab, cleaning as well. Hearing her brother complaining, she looked down at him, and scolded him. "Stop whining, Nate! This is something we can do, and it's much safer!" He growled back at her.
Professor Juniper then appeared from a backroom, with her Minccino. She complimented them, "I was so glad White suggested this! I needed some help keeping things tidy around here, and BW Agency delivers! And such cute assistants!" But they're not Pokémon, as Nate tried to complain about, but he was ignored. Juniper's Minccino appreciates a day off.
Ah well, every journey begins with small steps.
For point of reference, White's dress was Hilda's Diancie/Special Costume from Pokémon Masters Ex, while Hilbert's suit was from Pokémon Academy Life. Interesting crossover!
