Azrael: Hey everyone Azrael here. Welcome to a new story. I had pondered a Naruto and Temari stary for some time now and after reading a few stories of the two I came up with this story and so without further delay onto the story.

Dreams of Sand
Chapter I
Naruto was in the Market District doing some shopping to get some much needed supplies, unless he wanted to eat Ramen for every meal. Ok fuck that the only ramen he eats is old man Teuchi's and lets be real Naruto can't afford that for every meal. And to make matters worse his favorite vendor for his groceries changed owners and now he was banned from the store thanks to the Kyubi sealed within him.
As Naruto was walking down the street he heard a commotion near the village gates. Deciding shopping could wait Naruto rushed to the gates to see what was happening. When Naruto arrived at the gates he saw Konohamaru being held up off the ground by an older teen wearing what could only be described as a theater costume. Naruto also saw Sakura and Konohamaru;s two friends Udon and Moegi.
"Hey put him down he said he was sorry." Sakura said to the older teen.
"No way this runt ran into me and I'm going to teach him a lesson." the teen said.
"You shouldn't press your luck Kankuro if Gaara were here, what do you think he'd say?" the girl standing beside the male teen said.
Having seen enough, Naruto flash stepped behind the teen while simultaneously drawing a katana from his back. Naruto appeared behind the teen standing back to back with the teen with his Katana at the teen's back with Konohamaru in his free arm.
"Next time someone tells you to do something you should listen. Especially if you're visiting Konoha from another village." Naruto said coldly.
Everyone at the gates felt cold shivers along their spines. None of them had felt Naruto's presence until he was already there and his tone was laced with authority that demanded respect.
"W-who are you?" Kankuro asked.
"Konoha no Ma Kitsune." Naruto said.
As if Kankuro's eyes weren't wide enough they got bigger with fear as Naruto's title settled in.
Sakura had never seen Naruto this calm or serious, sure she had heard the title before but she thought it was just Naruto trying to be cool and show off with a self proclamation.
The girl with Kankuro was surprised, scared, and oddly aroused by Naruto's sudden appearance.
"You have three seconds to explain why you're in my village harassing the Hokage's grandson and pissing me off." Naruto said coldly.
Sakura had never seen this side of Naruto before and honestly she was scared.
"We're here for the Chunin Exams." the girl said. "As to why Kankuro had the boy by the collar, the child ran into him while running away from the pink haired girl."
"That at least tells me why you're in my village. I don't know how things are done in Suna but here in Konoha we don't beat kids for something as petty as running into you." Naruto said.
"I apologize for Kankuro. It's been a long trip." the girl said.
"I would advise you to remember that this is a Ninja village any threat to a citizen will be responded to with force. I would advise you to remember that." Naruto said coldly sheathing his Katana and walking away with Konohamaru still in his arm. "Udon, Moegi come on, let's get something to eat."
As Naruto left with the children Sakura felt the air shift from the cold and serious feel it held and caused her to let out the breath she hadn't realized she was holding.
XxXWIth Naruto and the ChildrenXxX
Naruto, Konohamaru, Udon, and Moegi were in the BBQ restaurant around a small grill. Naruto had lost his cold and serious demeanor in favor of the knucklehead he was known for being.
"Naruto-senpai, why did you reveal your true skills for Konohamaru?" Moegi asked Naruto.
"Simple Konohamaru is the future of this village just like you and Udon. While my generation may be the current generation, eventually our time will pass and your generation will have to step up to the mantle. That, and Konohamaru is the Hokage's grandson. I doubt Jiji would be happy if Konohamaru got hurt when I was able to intervene." Naruto replied.
"Thank you Naruto-senpai." Konohamaru said.
"Don't sweat it Konohamaru, I was glad to step in." Naruto said.
"Thank you for protecting my grandson Naruto." came the raspy voice of Sarutobi Hiruzen Sandaime Hokage.
"Jiji? What are you doing here?" Naruto asked dropping a piece of meat into the fire accidentally.
"Ho ho. You didn't think word about you protecting Konohamaru wouldn't reach my ears, did you Naruto-kun?" Hiruzen asked.
"Well when you put it that way." Naruto said with a nervous chuckle.
"You're not in trouble Naruto. Besides I thought it was about time I paid you a visit." Hiruzen said. "May I join you for lunch?"
"Of course Jiji." Naruto replied to Hiruzen's question.
Hiruzen sat down on a pillow surrounding the fire and table and picked up some meat off the grill.
XxXOne Week LaterXxX
One week later Naruto was walking up to the academy with a piece of paper in his hand. It was a form for the Chunin Exams he knew he was ready but he questioned if Sakura was ready. He knew it was pointless to question Sasuke, ready or not Sasuke would enter the exams.
As Naruto arrived at the Academy he saw Sasuke and Sakura waiting for him. Sasuke looked annoyed probably because Sakura was clinging to him pestering him for a date.
"Bout time you showed up dobe." Sasuke said.
"Heh Teme was there ever any doubt that I would show up." Naruto said.
"Not really." Sasuke said with a smirk.
Sakura hadn't forgotten what Naruto did the previous week. His speed, his composure, his skill. Why was he pretending to be less than what he was?
"Come on then let's go raise hell." Naruto said with a mischievous grin.
As Team Seven made their way through the academy to room three zero one when they were stopped by a familiar voice.
"Please wait, Naruto." came the voice of one Rock Lee, a boy that like Naruto hid his true strength.
Lee couldn't do ninjutsu or genjutsu; his only skill was taijutsu and he was a master in it.
"What's up Lee?" Naruto asked.
"I would like to spar with your teammate Sasuke. I would like to see if hard work can beat natural talent." Lee replied.
"Lee, do we really have time?" Naruto asked.
Lee seemed to think for a moment. "No I suppose we do not."
"I'm sure you'll get your chance to fight Sasuke sooner rather than later." Naruto said with a smile.
