Wrong Turn

A/N; I apologize if any of you are tired of me re-writing my old stories. I just know my writing has improved since 2014-2017 and I'm determined to finish this story. Enjoy!

Chapter One

It's alright to be a redneck
It's alright to ride around in a dirty old truck
Catch a bunch of fish and shoot a bunch of duck
It's alright to be a redneck
Chase around the girls on Friday night
You want to make them feel alright

Three brothers drove in a beat up, old truck on winding country roads. The two oldest, and closer in age, sing along to the radio. Both have sandy blonde hair and green eyes. One had shaggy, curly hair. They're not built large but it's obvious they work out. They wore similar plaid shirts with jeans, steal toe boots, and cowboy hats.

The younger brother sat in the middle. He just recently turned eighteen and his older brothers had a surprise for him. Unlike his brothers, he was wearing a cameo hunting jumpsuit. His hair was dark but it too was shaggy, though straight, unlike his brother.

"You're going to love our surprise, little bro." The brother not driving said then ruffled the eighteen year old's hair.

The teen pushed his brother's hand away and fixed his hair. "It's not much of a surprise. I already know we're going hunting. You guys go every weekend during the season."

"Ha!" The driver laughed. "This isn't a normal hunting trip."

"We got something special planned for all of us to celebrate you becoming a man."

The teen had no clue what his brother was talking about. What could they possibly do on this hunting trip that was so special, and why were they shouting like animals?

Whilst most students spent their fall break at the mall or partying, the glee club were going on a camping trip. According to the faculty advisor, Will Schuester, the trip would be good for bonding, something they apparently needed if they are going to win the regionals singing competition.

A Latina teenager struggled to free her luggage from the very full trunk of her vehicle. She grumbled and cursed in Spanish.

"Babe, if you cleaned your car more often you wouldn't be struggling right now." Said a hazel eyed blonde.

"I don't need a lecture, Quinn, I need help."

Quinn took the Latina's place, planted her feet, held the luggage, and pulled as hard as she could. It took three tries to get it free.

"Thanks, baby." The brunette smiled then lovingly kissed Quinn.

"Now I'm baby?"

The Latina nodded and presses their lips together again.

"Quinn, Santana, enough PDA! We're all waiting on you!" The glee club faculty advisor Will Schuester shouted. He stood by the door of the bus as he counted each student as they got on, making sure no one was left behind.

Santana pulled away with a huff. "Why did our parents have to give us permission to go on this stupid trip? It's too cold for this shit. Who goes camping during the fall?"

Quinn shrugged. "Just remember it's only for two days. Then we can have a glee free fall break. Just the two of us."

Santana smiled. "I can't wait."

Again, she closed the gap between them, kissing the blonde.

"Santana, Quinn, let's go!" Will shouted again.

Santana groaned. "Two days." She whispered to herself, although, Quinn could hear the brunette. "Just two days and it'll just be me and my girl, glee free." She continued as the girls gave Will their luggage and finally got on the bus.

The couple sat in the back with Brittany, Mercedes, Tina, and Kurt. Brittany sat with Kurt, and Mercedes and Tina sat together. The boys, and Rachel, sat in the middle of the bus, while Will and the co-faculty advisor, Sue Sylvester, sat at the front.

"How did you score the backseats?" Santana asked no one in particular.

"It didn't take us almost twenty minutes to get our bags out of our cars." Mercedes joked. "Our cars don't look like an episode of Hoarders."

"Your car was on an episode of Hoarders?" Brittany asked Santana. "I love that show."

Santana rolled her eyes. "Okay, okay. Everyone is a comedian. We get it."

At the front of the bus, Will stood and clapped to get the glee club's attention. "It's going to be about a two or three hour drive to the campsite. So, I suggest that everyone get comfortable. When we arrive at the campsite, all of us are pitching in to put the tents together. There are two. One for the girls and one for the boys."

"You never said anything about tents?!" Mercedes shouted.

"I thought we were staying in cabins?!" Shouted Rachel. "We're going to freeze to death!"

"I'm not sleeping on the ground!" Said Santana.

"Relax." Said Will. "The tents are big enough so we won't be cramped together, and no one will be sleeping on the ground." He assured Santana. "Coach Sylvester managed to get everyone their own cot, and no one is going to freeze to death. I've been keeping an eye on the weather, it'll be cloudy with some chilly air. We'll be fine."

The girls seemed to relax, however, Santana still didn't like the idea of sleeping in a tent with Rachel Berry, and wasn't shy about sharing her feelings on the matter. Surprisingly, the usual defensive Rachel did not react.

"What else are we doing on this camping trip, Mr. Schue?" Finn asked.

"We have a lot of bonding activities planned. Hiking, don't worry, Artie, the trails will be accessible to you, there's a lake to do some fishing, we got ingredients for s'mores, I brought my guitar, we can do some singing around the fire. It'll be fun."

Santana rolled her eyes. "I'm so over this and it hasn't even started yet."

Quinn smiled at how dramatic her girlfriend was being. She kissed Santana's cheek. "In just two days you'll have me to yourself."

The brunette took a deep, calming breath. "Right, you're right. I just have to get through this stupid camping trip first."

Just when Santana could relax, someone suggested to play some music. Although, it was not clear who that was, it didn't matter. Santana stood and glared at Rachel.

"Hobbit, if you sing one Broadway song, I will slap you so hard across the face that your great, great grandchildren feel it!"

Too frightened to say anything, yet again, Rachel just sat quietly. Quinn pulled Santana to sit back down and attempted to calm her down again. No one sang any show tunes but they did sing some popular pop songs, some Journey, of course, and Queen.

Fortunately, a greyhound bus meant there were small televisions that folded down from the ceiling in different sections of the bus. After music, for awhile they watched a movie, some took a nap, and some kept themselves entertained on their cellphones.

Although the bus did provide a bathroom, Will and Sue agreed to stop at a truck stop for a bathroom break, and to buy some snacks and beverages at the seven eleven next door.

Finn and Puck helped Artie get off the bus and back onto his wheelchair. First they all took a bathroom break before going to the seven eleven. Santana and Quinn were in front of the refrigerators deciding what drinks to get.

"If you get Brisk you'll be pissing the rest of the drive to the campsite." Santana told Quinn. "Why don't you just get pink lemonade? You're obsessed with the stuff."

"Just like you're obsessed with Arizona iced tea?"

Santana nodded. "Exactly. I think I'll get the raspberry this time."

"Pardon me, ladies."

Both girls turn toward the young man dressed in a plaid shirt under a brown jacket and jeans with steal toe boots and a cowboy hat. He appeared to be in his early to mid thirties.

"I need to get a couple of drinks myself if you don't mind."

Santana and Quinn stepped aside for the man and went to get in line to pay for their drinks and snacks when he stopped them.

"What brings you two beautiful young women to Fort Wayne? If you don't mind me asking." He said with a friendly smile.

"We do, actually." Santana said. "It's none of your damn business."

The man looked to be offended as he glared at the Latina. "I was just being friendly. No need for the hostility. Didn't your parents teach you any manners?"

Santana defensively crossed her arms over her chest. "Do your parents realize that they're living proof two wrongs don't make a right?"

Quinn quietly whispered in Santana's ear, telling her to stop as the man in the cowboy hat was shooting daggers at the brunette. He was obviously more angry now.

"You've got a mouth on you, girl. Someone needs to teach you a lesson."

"Someone should've told you mullets died back in the eighties before you went to the hair salon." Santana instantly shot back, not at all worried how the strange man would react, unlike Quinn. The blonde was now tugging on her arm, begging Santana to stop.

"You better do as your friend says and keep your mouth shut or you'll regret it."

"She's not my friend. She's my girlfriend."

He looked surprised. The man shook his head in disapproval then walked away, all the while never taking his eyes off them until he reached the end of the line at the register.

"Suddenly I'm not so hungry or thirsty anymore." Said Quinn.

"Me neither." Santana agreed. "Lets just go back on the bus."

The two girls returned the drinks and snacks back on the shelves then went back to the bus where a few of the glee club were already waiting.

"You didn't get anything." Kurt noted, interrupting Tina and Brittany's conversation. "It's going to be another hour before we get to the campsite. You should get something to eat and drink."

"Well we don't want to. Drop it, porcelain." Santana glared at him as she and Quinn sat in their seats in front of Kurt and Brittany.

Although confused, he didn't press further. Eventually the rest of the glee club and the two faculty advisors returned to the bus before getting back on the road. Sue drove the bus whilst Will navigated using directions he printed from the school's computer.

"Are we lost?" Mike asked having overheard the faculty advisors' heated discussion about the questionable directions Will printed out.

"No." Will insisted.

"Yes." Sue said honestly.

Will shot a dirty look at Sue. "We're not lost. The street signs are a bit confusing but we'll find the campsite."

"Great." Puck rolled his eyes. "We're lost. Might as well just turn around now and go back to Lima, cancel this stupid camping trip."

"We're not canceling the trip." Said Will. "It may take longer than we thought but we're going to find the campsite."

After driving for a while, Sue parked on the side of the road and put the hazard lights on. She looked over the directions as well, hopeful she could navigate better than Will.

The other faculty advisor shook her head. "You're terrible at navigating. She said to Will. "Because of you, we took a wrong turn."

"How can that be? The sign back there said we were going the right way." He insisted. "Well, that's nothing to fret about. Just turn around and then we'll get back on track."

"No can do. It'll be dark soon. We won't be able to set up the tents. I'll continue down this road and find somewhere to park the bus and set up camp for the night."

Fortunately, Sue didn't have to drive very far before a clearing on the side of a narrow dirt road by the highway was spotted. Sue parked the bus.

Everyone got off the bus and started right away on putting the tents together. Will and the boys put the boys' tent together, and Sue and the girls put the girls' tent together. Both were big enough to fit everyone comfortably inside even with the cots.

When it started to get dark, Will managed to get a fire started with the help of Finn Hudson and Noah "Puck" Puckerman. Everyone sat around the fire to keep warm and roast some hot dogs. Rachel had a vegetarian hot dog.

Will finished eating his hot dog then reached beside him for his guitar and swung it on to his lap. "Any requests?"

"No showtunes, Berry!" Santana shouted before anyone could say anything.

"I wasn't going to." She poorly argued.

Santana wasn't convinced. "Who here thought Rachel was going to request a showtunes song, raise your hand."

Everyone, including Sue but not Will, raised their hands. Santana gave the short diva an I-proved-my-point look.

"Do we have to sing?" Puck asked Will. "I know we're a glee club but all of this singing is obnoxious, and we're sitting around a fire." He pointed out. "We can't not tell at least one scary story."

"How about we vote on it." Will suggested. "Raise your hand if you want to sing some songs." Kurt, Rachel, and Finn raised their hands with Will. "Okay. Now, who wants to hear scary stories?" Everyone else, Sue included, raised their hands.

"Alright. Scary stories it is." He said disappointed as he leaned his guitar against a tree. "Who wants to tell the first story?" Puck raised his hand. "Go ahead, Noah."

He smirked, excited to tell the story he had in mind. "The name of the story may not be very scary but don't let that fool you. It's called yellow ribbon."

Santana wasn't impressed. "Yellow ribbon, really?"

Puck glared at the Latina. "What did I just say, Lopez?" Santana just rolled her eyes in response. "Anyway, Jane wore a yellow ribbon around her neck every day. And I mean everyday, rain or shine, wether it matched her outfit or not. It annoyed her best friend Johnny after awhile. He was her next door neighbor and had known Jane since she was three. When he was young, he barely noticed the ribbon, but now they were in high school together, it bothered him."

Despite the instant criticism of the story just from the title alone, Santana was listening very intently whilst cuddling with Quinn.

"'Why do you wear that yellow ribbon around your neck, Jane?' he'd ask her everyday. But she wouldn't tell him. Still, in spite of this aggravation, Johnny thought she was cute. He asked her to the soda shoppe for an ice cream sundae. Then he asked her to watch him in the football game. Then he started seeing her home. And come spring, he asked her to the dance. Jane always said yes when he asked her out."

In attempt to make the story sound even more scary, he made his voice real deep.

"And she always wore a yellow dress to match the ribbon around her neck. It had finally occurred to Johnny that he and Jane were going study, and he still didn't know why she wore the yellow ribbon around her neck. So he asked her about it yet again, and yet again she did not tell him."

"I'm starting to think Jane just always had a terrible fashion sense and was too embarrassed to tell Johnny." Kurt said, interrupting the story.

Puck shushed Kurt and continued with the story. "'Maybe someday I'll tell you about it', she'd reply. That answer annoyed Johnny, but he shrugged it off, because Jane was so cute and fun to be with. Time flew past, as it has a habit of doing, and one day Johnny proposed to Jane and was accepted. They planned a big wedding, and Jane hinted that she might tell him about the ribbon around her neck on their wedding day."

"Don't believe her, Johnny!" Santana shouted.

Once again Puck shushed the interruption before continuing the story. "Somehow, what with the preparations and his beautiful bride, and the lovely reception, Johnny never got around to asking Jane about it."

"What the hell is wrong with you, Johnny?!" Santana shouted again.

This time Puck wasn't the only one to shush her.

"When he did remember, she got a bit teary-eyed, and said: "We are so happy together, what difference does it make?" And Johnny decided she was right."

"You're a stupid man, Johnny." Santana shook her head.

"SSHHH!" The other glee club members, except Quinn, glared at the brunette.

"Johnny and Jane raised a family of four, with the usual ups and downs, laughter and tears. When their golden anniversary rolled around, Johnny again asked Jane about the yellow ribbon around her neck. It was the first time he brought it up since the week after their wedding. Whenever their children asked him about it, he always hushed them, and somehow none of the kids dared ask their mother. Jane gave Johnny a sad look and said, "Johnny, you waited this long. You can wait awhile longer."

This time Santana just snickered with an eye roll.

"And Johnny agreed. It wasn't until Jane was on her death bed a year later that Johnny, seeing his last chance slip away, asked Jane one final time about the ribbon she wore around her neck. She shook her head a bit at his persistence, and then said with a sad smile, "Okay Johnny, you can go ahead and untie it."

"With shaking hands, he fumbled for the knot and untied the yellow ribbon around his wife's neck. And Jane's head fell off."

Santana, Kurt, Rachel, and Tina all screamed and jumped at the unexpected ending. Then Rachel suddenly stood up.

"That's enough scary stories for one night."

Mercedes looked at the shirt brunette confused. "It was just one story."

"And one is enough." Rachel turned to Kurt. "Kurt, come with me?"

The pair crossed the clearing to the girl's tent, ignoring Will shouting after them that Kurt was not allowed to sleep with the girls.

"I have to pee." Santana announced. "Come with me, love." She said to Quinn. She took the blonde's hand and assisted Quinn on to her feet.

Santana took one of the many toilet paper rolls Will brought on the trip on their way to the edge of the clearing, away from the rest of the glee club. Quinn stood close by as Santana squatted. In direction of the fire they could hear Kurt and Rachel screaming about a bug being inside the tent. The brunette rolled her eyes.

"That hobbit is going to make this idiotic camping trip unbearable." She grumbled.

Quinn chuckled with amusement. "I don't understand why-"

"Shh!" Santana shushed her girlfriend. "I thought I heard something." She whispered as she looked past Quinn toward the other side of the small clearing.

Quinn followed Santana's line of sight. "I think you're being paranoid." She whispered as well. "That story has gone to your head."

Santana scoffed. "Oh please. It was just a dumb story. I wasn't scared."

"Yeah, I might believe you if it wasn't for the loud scream at the end." Santana shut her mouth and avoided looking at the blonde. "Not to rush you, babe, but can you hurry up? I don't want to be eaten alive by mosquitoes."

Santana used the toilet paper, stood up, and pulled her pants up. The couple returned to their seats around the fire. With the exception of Kurt and Rachel, the glee club and the two advisors made s'mores before going to sleep.

Santana pulled Quinn's cot so they were closer, explaining the blonde was too far away, and Will forced Kurt to the boys' tent. The following morning Santana and Quinn were the last ones up. Everyone was sitting around the fire pit already eating breakfast which was just the fun pack cereal Will bought everyone.

Santana and Quinn got their own fun pack cereal then sat next to Brittany, Tina, and Mike. As they sat down, the couple caught the tail end of the trios conversation.

"I won't like what?" Santana asked Brittany.

The blonde hesitated, worried about how Santana would respond. "I mean, Mr. Schue did tell us what we'd be doing on this trip yesterday when we got on the bus."

"Spit it out, Britt." Said Santana impatiently.

"We're…going on a hike today."

Santana was surprisingly quiet. Frighteningly, quiet. Until.…"FUCK!" She shouted.

Brittany, Tina, Mike, and even Quinn all jumped. The faculty advisors and the rest of the glee club all turned toward the sudden loud scream that came from Santana. Quinn could have sworn the Latina scared the birds in a near by tree, causing them to fly away.

"What's wrong, Santana?" Will asked. Genuinely concerned.

Santana stood up, fun pack cereal in hand. "I'll tell ya what's wrong."

She started ranting in Spanish too quickly for the advisor, or anyone, to understand what the brunette was going off about. She continued anyway then returned to the girls' tent, cereal still in hand.

"Shouldn't you go after her?" Mike asked Quinn after a moment of silence.

"I will after she cools down. She needs space right now."

"What was that about?" Will aimed the question towards Quinn, Brittany, Tina, and Mike, though he wasn't asking anyone in particular.

"The hike." Tina answered. "She doesn't want to do it."

"I don't want to do it either." Said Sue.

"Me neither." Kurt said.

"Nor do I." Rachel said.

Will clapped his hands to get everyone to stop. "This isn't about what you guys want. We still have to do some group bonding activities if you guys want to win regionals. Even if we didn't make it to the campsite." He explained.

"I'll let Santana cool off for now but after everyone eats, and changes into appropriate clothes, all of us are going hiking. Sue and I walked the area and discovered some trails safe enough for everyone." He said looking at Artie. "It's not up for discussion. Be ready in twenty minutes."

30 minutes later…

Will had made it very clear to the glee club that everyone had to be ready in twenty minutes, and most of them were, except Kurt and Rachel. They took much too long deciding what to wear.

The rest of the glee club, and the faculty advisors grew restless waiting for the pair and although many thought Santana would be the one to push them out yelling in Spanish, it was Sue to drag them out of their respective tents. Both of them appeared traumatized, not used to being on the screaming end of the faculty advisor slash cheer coach.

As they hiked through the woods Kurt and Rachel were still shaken up so they didn't say much. Finn and Puck found sticks long enough to use as walking sticks and pretend light sabers. Sam was doing terrible impressions of his favorite celebrities if they went on a hike in a lame attempt to impress Mercedes.

Mike and Tina were holding hands and pointing out the cute little animals that appeared along the trail. From rabbits, squirrels, to birds. Brittany hopped a ride with Artie, sitting on his lap as she told him unbelievable stories about her cat lord tubbington.

Santana and Quinn were also holding hands. Quinn was trying to cheer the Latina up by whispering sweet nothings into her ear, and all of the activities they could do together during the rest of fall break.

Will and Sue guided the group through the woods as they've been on the trail already early in the morning. At a fork in the trail, the pair came to a stop then they turned to face the glee club, causing them to stop as well.

"Are we lost again?" Puck asked.

Will rolled his eyes. "No. Sue and I agreed this was a good point to split into two groups. The boys will come with me and Sue will lead the girls."

The boys took the trail on the right and the girls took the trail on the left.

A log cabin sat in the middle of the woods with an old truck parked in front. Three brothers unpacked their bags to get settled, though, not for long. The eldest, Owen, wanted to go into the woods as soon as he and the middle brother, Paul, have on their own cameo hunting jump suits.

"Do we have to do this now?" The youngest, Ben, asked. "We just got here. We should at least eat something first."

Owen shook his head. "Nah, I don't have an appetite. I want to set up some traps before we lose daylight."

"We wouldn't have to worry about losing daylight if someone didn't get us lost. We've been coming here for years and suddenly he forgets where to go." Paul said under his breath, though, not very quietly.

"What did you say?" Owen glared at Paul.

"Nothing."

"That's what I thought."

The trio went out to into the woods, traps in their backpacks. They traveled through the woods setting multiple traps. However, when Ben asked his brothers what animals they were hunting for, neither Owen or Paul told him. Instead they both laughed and Owen would say, "You'll see, little brother."

It just started to get dark when the trio came across some hikers. A male adult with some male teenagers. Owen and Paul did not seem too thrilled by the discovery.

"Lets follow 'em." Owen suggested unexpectedly.

"What for?" Paul asked. "There isn't a single girl in that group."

Owen smacked Paul upside the head. "I have eyes, don't I? I can see that. I know these people. I saw them back at the seven eleven and even talked to a couple of them. Looked like a class on some kind of school trip, and there were girls, beautiful ones."

Ben saw a creepy glint in both Owen and Paul's eyes that he had never seen before. He didn't like it.

"Why do you care about these people?" Ben asked Owen. "I thought we were just setting traps?"

Owen and Paul looked at each other and laughed.

"Oh, baby brother." Owen said. "You're so naive and innocent. We're going to change that on this trip, don't you worry."

Owen and Paul lead the way as the trio began to follow the group. They stayed back a safe distance away, making sure they weren't caught. Eventually the small group of boys, and their teacher, stopped at a makeshift campsite. The three brothers stayed hidden in the shadows.

They watched as the group got bigger when all of the girls arrived. Ben waited for Owen and Paul to say or do something, anything. They didn't. They sat in silence and watched for a long time. It wasn't until the group went in their tents to sleep did someone finally say something.

"I have a plan." Owen announced.

The next morning Santana and Quinn were not the last ones to wake up this time. Whilst eating breakfast, Will announced they would be packing up so they could go to the actual campsite. Everyone with the exception of Santana, Rachel, and Kurt were relieved. They would rather be anywhere other than camping.

The boys went on about who was going to catch the most fish once they arrived at the campsite, and Santana was muttering something to herself in Spanish. Though everyone had an idea what she was saying.

Will and Sue were the first to finish their breakfast. The pair took their bags to the bus. Unfortunately when they returned a few minutes later they both appeared defeated.

"What's wrong?" Finn asked Will.

Will let out a deep sigh. "A couple of the tires on the bus have holes in them. They're both flat. We're not going anywhere any time soon."

"Can't we call someone?" Rachel asked.

"Not possible, Mrs. Focker." Said Sue. "There's no cell phone service out here."

Rachel and Kurt began to panic. Santana ranted in Spanish until Quinn calmed her down.

"There's no need to freak out yet." Will said. "We'll figure something out. For now, we'll continue to do some of the bonding activities we planned on doing at the campsite. It'll be better than just sitting around and letting our imaginations run wild." He added, seeing a few of the glee club members about to protest.

"What bonding activities?" Puck asked. "All we can do is hike."

"That's not true. I scouted the area some more while everyone was sleeping. I found a lake that should have fish. It's a bit of a walk but it will be worth it." He ignored the groans about the long walk and told everyone to get ready.

Once everyone was dressed, and Will and Sue had all of the fishing gear, the group ventured back into the woods, following Will. As expected, Santana, Kurt, and Rachel complained the whole way to the lake. Although, they only knew some of the things Santana had said as she spoke in Spanish.

"Who is playing that awful music?" Mercedes asked no one in particular when they got closer to the lake.

The glee club, and Sue, emerged from the woods into a clearing where a medium sized lake sat. Two guys, and one teenager, were already fishing and listening to country music on an old stereo. They were all wearing matching cameo hunting jump suits. Upon seeing the men, Santana gasped and hit Quinn's arm.

"That guy is the asshole from the seven elven, remember?"

Quinn nodded. "Just stay away from them. Come on, lets go on the other side."

"We're not really going to fish, are we?" Santana whispered with a look of disgust.

"No. I brought some magazines." She patted the purse that rested on her hip.

Santana breathed a sigh of relief. "Have I ever told you I love you?"

Quinn blushed. "Not today."

"I love you."

"I love you, too."

The couple walked around the lake toward a small dock. Mercedes noticed what the girls were up to and followed, as did Tina, Rachel, and Kurt.

"Berry, if you can restrain yourself from talking about Barbra Streisand then you can sit with us." Said Santana.

For a moment it appeared as if Rachel wanted to protest but decided against it and sat next to Kurt. The girls, and Kurt, discuss the magazines Quinn brought. Celebrity gossip, fashion, and the latest movies.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the pond, the boys, and Sue, are fishing with the trio of guys that introduced themselves as Owen, Paul, and Ben. Owen had explained why they were on this trip.

"That's great." Will smiled. "We're here to do some bonding. Sue and I are the faculty director's for the glee club over at the William McKinley high school. We have a singing competition coming up, and I thought this trip would be good for them."

"Glee club, that's like a show choir, right?" Paul asked.

"Yeah." Will answered.

"You boys don't seem the type to be into something like that." Paul continued.

"We're also on the football team." Said Puck. "I'm a wide receiver, Sam and Finn are quarterbacks, and Mike is a defensive back." He explained, feeling he needed to defend himself and his friends.

"We like to sing and perform, too." Finn said. "We're pretty good at it." He bragged.

"That's..cool…I guess." Paul said.

"Holy shit, I think I got something!" Sam shouted as he fought with his fishing pole. He pulls and pulls, then reels in the fish, until it submerged from the water. It wasn't a big fish, though, it wasn't small either.

"Nice catch, Sam." Will complimented.

"Yeah." Owen agreed. "Here, you can use our bucket to keep it in."

"You sure?" Sam asked.

"Sure. Honestly, we're better at hunting than fishing." He smirked, as if telling an inside joke. "Which reminds me. Ben, can you check the traps? There might be something in one of them by now."

Ben looked conflicted but nodded anyway.

"Can I come, too?" Puck asked excitedly. "I wanna see a dead animal."

"Me, too." Sam said just as excited.

"I'd like to go." Mike said. "I don't care about the dead animal but I'm curious what kind of traps you use. I tried hunting with my dad once, it didn't go over so well." He bashfully admitted.

"Sure, sure." Said Owen. He then turned to Finn and Artie. "What about you two, wanna go?"

"I don't know." Finn rubbed the back of his neck.

"Oh come on, Finn." Puck protested. "Don't be such a girl. It'll be fun."

Finn sighed. "Okay, fine."

"I would but I don't know the trails. My chair might not be able to handle the terrain."

The boys put down their fishing poles and followed Ben to the traps in the woods.

"Where are they going?" Sue asked. She had earphones on, to drown out the country music, whilst she sat beside the pond with a fishing pole in hand.

Will explained what the boys were doing. Sue put her headphones back on and continued to patiently wait for a fish to fall for her bait. Owen and Paul asked Will for some fishing tips. What the best kind of bait to use, fishing pole, how to properly cast out the fishing line into the water, and what the best kind of hooks to use.

"You really know your stuff." Owen complimented.

"I used to go fishing with my dad a lot." Will bragged.

"Well, it shows." Owen continued.

"Hey," Paul said. "how are you able to camp on this property? You know it's not a campsite, right?"

Will flushed, embarrassed. "Yeah. Unfortunately, we got a couple of flat tires on the bus, and no one has any cellphone service. You two don't happen to have any bus tires in the back of your car, do you?" He joked.

"Can't say that we do." Owen smiled. "But maybe Paul can take a look at the damage. If it's not too bad, maybe we can use our truck to tow it to a garage." He lied.

"You can do that?" Will asked, relieved.

"Yeah." Owen continued to easily lie, then turned away from Will and towards Paul, and mouthed, 'go with it.'

"Just show me where the bus is, and I..I'll see what I can do." Paul offered.

"Sure."

"I'll go with you, Mr. Schue." Said Artie. "I never cared to fish. I get too bored waiting for one to bite."

Will told Sue where they were going, then left with Paul.

Owen put his fishing pole down, then he looked over at the girls, and Kurt, on the deck across the lake to be sure they weren't paying attention as he snuck up behind Sue. With a rock in his hand he used that to knock the woman out cold.

He left her headphones on, and dragged her into the woods nearby. Then he tied her up with the rope he kept in the pocket of his jumpsuit, and covered her with nearby fallen branches.

When he emerged from the woods, the girls, and Kurt, were looking in his direction. They were confused and scared before getting up and running into the woods behind them.

"And so it has begun!" He shouted excitedly. "Fuck, yes, I love runners!" Owen removed a walkie-talkie from the same pocket he kept the ropes and pressed the button on the side. "Is it done?" He released the button and waited for a reply.

"It's done. They're out cold. I tied them up and put them in the bus. It was kinda hard to get wheels out of his chair but I managed."

Owen pressed the button again. "Tracksuit is out, too. I tied her up, and hid her in the woods under some branches. The girls and that gay kid ran off into the woods but that's okay. They just made this more fun for us. Hopefully little brother did his part, too. The games have officially started, brother, yee-haw!" Again, he released the button and waited for a reply.

"Yee-haw, brother!"

A/N: What do you think so far? It's very different from the original story but hopefully better. I hope you enjoyed the first chapter.
