Chapter One- Life

In a little town in which these characters live, anything is bound to happen. But it's like any other town really. Children are running, couples are sitting in benches together. It's almost as if you can call this town peaceful. It's not ordinarily common for people to do bad things, but it's not everyday that people do good things either. Specifically children. This story is based on the lives of children, older children at best. When you're a younger child, you don't see the foibles of the world as much. As you get older, you start to see the flaws of things and you realize that life isn't sunshine and rainbows all of the time. In this little town, the weather may be nice to a five year old, but to certain twelve year olds. It's the complete opposite.

The Disney child/pet characters in this story are around eleven to twelve years old. Basically why this is centered in middle school.

If you've passed middle school, you've probably noticed that life seems different compared to elementary school. Suddenly, you don't feel as lighthearted as you used to, and on top of that you dread the thought of going to school or making friends. Life seems ten times harder when you're in middle school, and that's how it's going to feel. But, imagine a school that tries its hardest each and every day to make sure that its students are happy. This particular school is like no other. Everyone who attends feels welcomed and appreciated by everyone around them. And if there's anyone who refuses to act kindly towards others, they suffer the consequences immediately. Why is this school so amazing? One, it's called Downtown Disney Middle School. Again, it's a Disney school. Any school with the name Disney in it has to be somewhat different compared to other schools. Anyway, enough about the name. This school consists of every Disney child…animal…I dunno what you want to call it. It consists of cats, dogs, foxes, deer, rabbits, etc. And the funny thing is that they've all been given the power to stand on two legs like humans. Lately, the school has been hyped about the soccer game against O.J. Middle School. The team who is famous for being rude and obnoxious towards its opponents. Because of their cockiness, Downtown Disney Middle is determined to win so they can show them who's boss!

The DDMS soccer team consists of yours truly. Oliver, Copper, Tod, Bambi, Thumper, Berlioz, Patch, Rolly, Lucky, Tripod, Danielle, and Zany (OC). They've all been training hard for this very game. And they're now ready to take on the champions. Well..almost.

Tod showed up to soccer practice early in the morning, with a broken leg. Why he still went to soccer practice at all was unknown, but he probably had a reason for toughening up anyway.

Oliver was about to greet the fox as usual. Right up until he noticed that Tod's foot was wrapped in a cast and he was walking with crutches. Confused and shocked, he asked. "Tod, what happened? Your foot was fine yesterday."

Tod looked down at his broken foot for a split second and then proceeded to respond. "I was riding my bicycle in the neighborhood yesterday evening and thought it was a good idea to do a wheelie over a huge rock. Needless to say, it didn't go so well."

"Yeah. I noticed." Oliver replied while looking at Tod's foot from an angle.

Copper then ran over to the two kids. He was wearing a green uniform with yellow stripes. Even he was surprised at the sight of Tod's foot.

"Tod. How…are you going to practice with the team today if your foot is broken. Clutches and all!" Copper asked curiously while observing Tod's foot.

Then Mittens, the coach, walked over to investigate the incident.

"Eesh! What da' heck happened here?" asked Mittens wide eyed.

"I broke my leg yesterday." Tod replied with no hesitation. "I was riding my bike and decided to do a wheelie over a huge rock. If I had landed head-first it would've been worse."

Mittens chuckled and responded, "Well, I think it'd be good idea for ya to sit out for this one."

Tripod walked over and then responded, "Wait a minute. Today? But the actual game is tomorrow, and Tod is one of the school's best goalies."

"Oh boy, I didn't think about that." Mittens replied while looking up into the sky. Then, she had an idea. But, will this idea work?

"Uhhh, is there anyone confident or good enough to be a goalie for this one pracitce, including the game." Mittens asked the group of kids. Luckily, there was one player who felt good and confident enough to be goalie. One problem, he wasn't the strongest or the most confident. That player being Berlioz.

Berlioz, a really dark greyish cat who was wearing the same uniform all of the other players were wearing walked up to Mittens. He looked up at her with pride and declared, "I'll take his place. I'll do anything to help out my teammates."

While Mittens appreciated the kindness and empathy that Berlioz had, she still had to make a few pointers. Only so she could do what's best for the team. While she wasn't trying to offend or make Berlioz feel down, she still had to get something to click inside his head.

"Berlioz..I…I appreciate what you're trying to do. But, being a goalie isn't as easy. And don't ya think that transitioning from a midfielder to a goalie in one day is a bit much?" suggested Mittens. Again, she had to do what's best for the team. And putting Berlioz as a goalie isn't the best idea before the big game. At the same time, Berlioz didn't want to put down the team either. But if nobody else was going to be a goalie, he knew he had to do something.

Berlioz has always been the "never give up" type of kid overall. If it meant giving it his all, he would do it.

Aside from the sports aspect of DDMS, there was a lot of other stuff that usually went on too. Stuff that is waiting to be talked about!
