"It has come to my attention," Ladybug said, one night on patrol. "That there is a possibility of one of us being akumatized." Cat looked up from his bowl of noodles. "My Lady?" "A slight chance, Kitty. So, to be prepared to catch akuma, we should practice catching real butterflies. Can you pass the soy sauce?"
"Sounds like fun and necessary. I even know of a perfect place where butterflies like to hang out." "Okay, great. Tomorrow Operation: Butterfly begins!"
They met up at one of the many parks in Paris, one with long tall grass and flowers. Already Cat could see some butterflies flittering around. "Now, remember Cat," Ladybug said, seriously. "We aren't here for a picnic. We have serious business to intent too!" Cat nodded, but he couldn't help the pout slipping onto his face. "But you did bring the picnic, right?" "Yes, I have it right here. Now, Lucky Charm!"
Two butterfly nets dropped down into her hands. "How did you do that?" Cat asked. "They don't call me Lady Luck for nothing. Now, you take that side of the park, and I'll take the other. When the clock strikes one, we'll meet up for food and notes. Don't get distracted!"
Cat grinned, giving her a small bow. "My Lady, the only thing that distracts me is your beauty," he said, with a wink. "Uh-uh," Ladybug returned the smile. "Does the word: Yarn ball really any bells?"
Soon, Cat was positioned by the bank of a small stream. Ah, this is nice. Warm sun, there's a napping spot under that tree….Cat shook his head vigorously. No, no napping!
He begin to pace up and down whistling, pausing every few feet to make up his own dance moves.
Meanwhile, at the other side of the park….
"Butterflies can be sneaky, so I better keep my eyes peeled," Ladybug muttered to herself. She walked down on the small hills, her eyes lighting when she saw…..buttercups! I could make a wreath of flowers for Adren, and maybe he would give me a kiss! No, bad Ladybug! Think butterfly!
At precisely the same moment, two butterflies flitted past both Cat and Ladybug. "Target sighted," Cat whispered. "Now, to stalk quietly."
However, the butterfly had other plans after landing on a flower, and begin to fly away. "Come back here!" Cat yelled, taking off. No butterfly was going to get away from him!
Cat was so intent on the chase, he failed to see Ladybug running towards him till…. Swoop! "Gotcha!" Cat staggered under the weight of the net. Wait a minute. "Cat, let me go!" Ladybug glared at him from inside the net. "Bugaboo! Aren't you the catch of the day." "Cat…." Ladybug warned.
"Have you caught any?" Cat asked, hoping she had some luck. "No, those butterflies are sneaky. Perhaps we're approaching it the wrong way?" Cat put a finger to his lips. "Here's your chance! A butterfly!"
Ladybug aimed and missed, the butterfly curiously landed on her nose, and she toppled over. "I think," Ladybug said, "we have our picnic and call it a day. After all, my yo-yo has never missed a butterfly!"
"Sounds like a plan. Though I'm glad your quite a catch, Bugaboo?" Ladybug leaped up and raised her net. "Oh, look. A new brand of butterfly. Come here, Furball!"
