TFATWS: THE NEW SUPER SOLDIERS

Summary: Shinji and Rei are teleported to the MCU, where they become superhumans alongside The Avengers.

Chapter 1
Prologue
In 2018, Shinji Ikari and Rei Ayanami arrived in Wakanda via the 12th Angel from their universe and time of 2015.
Shinji phases through T'Challa, the Black Panther, and Rei phases through Steve Rogers, formerly Captain America.
As a result, their physiology is changed. Shinji gains the superhuman abilities of the Black Panther and Rei gains the same super soldier physicality as Steve Rogers.
The pair have little chance to explain who they are and where they have come from, as Wakanda is about to be attacked by aliens.
Steve and the others - Natasha Romanoff (The Black Widow), Sam Wilson (The Falcon), Wanda Maximoff (The Scarlet Witch), the android Vision, James Rhodes (The War Machine), and Bruce Banner (The Incredible Hulk) - had come to Wakanda to find a way to remove the Mind Stone that was in the Visions forehead.
This stone is what the aliens wanted, and they almost managed to take it in Scottland, had it not been for the currently outlaw Avengers team.
T'Challa's sister, the brilliant scientist Princess Shuri, had figured out a way to remove the Mind Stone from Visions forehead without killing him, but the process would take time.
The team of heroes were joined by James Barnes, an old friend of Steve Rogers, who was given a new mechanical left arm by T'Challa,
When the fighting began, the heroes and their allies were overwhelmed by the invading aliens.
They are reinforced by Thor Odinson, the god of thunder, and his two allies, Rocket Raccoon and Groot the living tree.
Wanda eventually left in order to help The Avengers fight off the alien attack, which left Vision all but unprotected.
One of the aliens, named Corvis Glaive, managed to sneak into Shuri's laboratory lab to take the Mind Stone, killing several guards in the process.
However, Shinji manage to tackle Glaive out of the lab and out into the Wakandan forest, and Rei went after him to try and help him. Despite their strength to overcome him, Glaive was the more experienced warrior. He was about to kill them when Vision arrived and killed him instead.
Unfortunately, Thanos, the aliens master, arrived, with the other five Infinity Stones in a gauntlet on his left hand.
The Avengers ralled to try and stop him, each of them getting overwhelmed by the power of the five Stones that Thanos wielded.
Shinji tried to help The Avengers, but was nearly killed. Rei went to help Shinji, but was easily knocked aside.
Thanos managed to get The Mind Stone from The Vision, and was about to snap his fingers to end half the universes life, when Thor moved to strike Thanos with his new weapon, Stormbreaker. He managed to impale Thanos in his chest, but Thanos had enough strength left in order to snap his fingers, ending half the life in the universe, before teleporting away to heal himself.
Shinji and Rei looked on in shock as several people suddenly begin to disintegrate before their eyes.
T'Challa, James Barnes, Sam Wilson, Groot and many others, including Wanda, all vanished.
Trying to figure out their next course of action, Steve Rogers and the remaining Avengers - Natasha, Thor, Banner, Rhodes and Rocket - are eventually joined by Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel, who Nick Fury had summoned right before he was snapped into eternity. She rescued Tony Stark, the Iron Man and Nebula, a blue-skinned cybernetic alien woman, who had been defeated by Thanos on Titan, and brouoght them to Earth before they went after Thanos.
Shinji and Rei are left on Earth while The Avengers head after Thanos. Their plan is to retrieve the Gauntlet and undo what Thanos did.
However, the team which included Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff, Bruce Banner wearing the Hulkbuster armor, Thor, War Machine and Captain Marvel, finds out that Thanos had used the power of the Stones to destroy them and the Gauntlet, thereby preventing anyone from undoing his efforts.
Thor, in a rage at this, decapitated Thanos.
Without a means of reversing the Snap, The Avengers and their allies were forced to try and carry on as best they could.
This also meant that Shinji and Rei, having no way home, were taken under the Avengers and trained in how to best use their new super soldier-esque abilities.
Five years later, Shinji and Rei have grown in strength, skill and intelligence.
Since it was discovered that Shinji had gained similar powers to the Black Panther, he was mostly kept in Wakanda and trained by Okoye, general of the Dora Milaj. He was never given the potion to remove the powers of the Panther since with T'Challa gone and the Heart-Shaped Herb Garden destroyed by Killmonger, any chance of synthesizing the heart-shaped herb lay with Shinji.
Possessing the ability to lift 1000 lbs and being able to run up to 60 mph for hours on end, Shinji was extensively trained in hand-to-hand combat as well as Wakandan technology and science. He was taught how to be strong, quick, agile, and silent as a shadow. He was also shocked to find out he had enhanced senses of sight and superhuman agility. He was also taught how to pilot various vehicles and even repair any and all technologies created by Wakanda. Such as the nanotechnology that went into the panther habit. This also included extensive study of physics, computer technology and hacking, math and all available sciences.
Needless to say, Okoye and Wakanda kept Shinji very busy.
However, Shinji knew they weren't doing it because they cared about him.
Rei, meanwhile, was trained by Steve and Natasha at the Avengers Compound, pushing both her physical abilities and intellect to their utmost. Which was easy since both had been expanded upon thanks to her gaining the super soldier power from Steve Rogers. Rei discovered that despite being 14 years old, she could lift nearly 1000 lbs and run better than 50 miles and hour. She had become at least twice as strong as an Olympic athlete and three times faster than a human was possible of being. And because of the super soldier serum, Rei was far more intelligent, capable of retaining all types of knowledge and information she learned either by reading, listening to or watching it.
Rei was taught weapons, tactics, computer expertise, various forms of martial arts, how to pilot a jet and drive a car and motorcycle. She was also taught stealth and how to hide in plain sight. Not easy since she was an albino with blue hair and red eyes.
In 2023, The Avengers are reunited with Scott Lang, The Ant-Man, who had been trapped inside the Quantum Tunnel created by Hank Pym. The effects of the Quantum Tunnel retarded the aging affects of the real world, meaning that five years in the real world was five hours to him. He managed to escape, thanks to a rat accidentally activating the Quantum Tunnel and releasing him.
After finding out what happened to everyone, and reuniting with his now older daughter, Scott went to the Avengers and told them what happened. Recruiting Professor Hulk (a merged version of Bruce Banner and The Hulk) as well as a reluctant Tony Stark to create a time-travel machine, The Avengers formulated a plan to go back in time and retrieve the six Infinity Stones before they were gathered together and destroyed by Thanos.
The plan was to send different teams to different locations in time and space in order to retrieve the different stones.
Banner, Lang, Rogers, and Stark time-traveled to New York City during Loki's attack in 2012 to retrieve the Space Stone, The Mind Stone and the Time Stone.
Rocket and Thor traveled to Asgard in 2013 to retrieve the Reality Stone from Jane Foster. As well as the hammer Mjolnir.
Nebula and Rhodes went to Morag in 2014 to steal the Power Stone before Peter Quill can.
And Romanoff and Barton headed to Vormir in 2014 to obtain the Soul Stone.
Shinji went with Nebula and Rhodes to get the Power Stone and Rei traveled with Romanoff and Barton to get the Soul Stone.
However, while their missions had their fair share of troubles, Natasha, Clint and Rei found themselves facing a dilemma when, in order to obtain the Soul Stone, they had to sacrifice one of their own. The trio quickly got into a conflict over who would sacrifice to get the Soul Stone.
Natasha believed she should die instead of Barton since he had a chance to get his family back.
Barton believed he should die since he did not want to lose anyone else, and he considered Natasha like family.
Rei thought she should die since she did not come from their universe and was thus the logical choice to be sacrificed.
However, Natasha managed to trick both Rei and Barton and hurled herself over the ledge and killed herself so that they could obtain the Soul Stone.
It was in the aftermath that Rei found herself holding on to Natasha's braided hair that she had cut off earlier.
Once everyone had returned to the present, and they learned that Natasha had sacrificed herself in order to get the Soul Stone, Shinji and Rei had a stunning spark of inspiration.
It was while the team was analyzing the six stones and trying to figure out a way to create a new gauntlet to use to bring the other half of the universe back after The Snap, that Rei used the Reality and Power Stones to create a clone of Natasha using her braided hair as a base.
This clone was like Natasha in every way, especially in her memories of who everyone was.
This shocked everyone, especially Rei, despite that she had been trained to think 'outside of the box' by Natasha. Rei wasn't even sure it would work. This was especially useful when Tony used the power of the Infinity Stones to bring Vision back to life, (as his own test), with a power stone of his own powered by the Sun, before Professor Hulk tried to use the six Stones to bring back everyone that Thanos had snapped away five years ago.
However, 2023 Nebula had her cybernetics hacked by Thanos's forces in 2014, who intercepted her and learned the whole story. Thanos sent 2014-Nebula, who was still loyal to Thanos, back in her place and used her Pym-Particles to bring his warship and his army forward in time to attack the Avengers and get the Infinity Stones for himself.
Bruce Banner managed to use the six Infinity Stones to summon back everyone that Thanos had snapped away five years earlier.
An action called The Blip.
Shortly after that, Thanos and his army attacked.
2023-Nebula was rescued by 2014-Gamora, who wanted to find a way to stop Thanos.
They escaped from Thanos warship and joined forces with The Avengers and their allies in 2023.
The Avengers were caught off-guard by the attack, but were able to fend off Thanos and his forces long enough for everyone else to arrive.
Captain America, Iron Man and Thor were barely able to fight off Thanos, only to have Shinji join their efforts. While Cap wielded Mjolnir to battle Thanos, Shinji used Stormbreaker to help him. Thanos was heavily injured from this, but still able to summon his army to destroy the Avengers once and for all.
Alone on the battlefield, Captain America and Shinji Ikari were witness to all of their allies, such as The Falcon, Black Panther, Shuri, Dr Strange, Spider-Man, Wanda Maximoff, The Guardians of the Galaxy, and many, many others, arriving via portals created by Dr Strange and the other sorcerers.
They had even brought back Pietro Maximoff as well.
The battle that resulted from this, was legendary.
Captain Marvel eventually arrived on Earth to help defeat Thanos as well.
Shinji and Rei were right alongside The Avengers and their allies as they battled and ultimately defeated Thanos and his army.
It was Iron Man, using the six stones to destroy Thanos and his entire army, that ultimately won the day. Though the use of the six Stones overloaded Tony Stark's body and ended up killing him, Shinji was able to use the Time Stone in order to bring him back to life.
Afterwards, it was Rei who used the Mind Stone to transfer all the memories of the other Guardians of the Galaxy to 2014-Gamora, whose future-self died so that Thanos could obtain the Soul Stone in 2018. This enabled her to be what her future-self was, including remembering that Star-Lord is/was her boyfriend.
After using the power of the Stones to restore as many of their fallen allies as possible, including the Warriors Three and Heimdal, Steve Rogers used Starks time-travel machine to return the six Stones and Thor's hammer to the past.
There he stayed in the past to be with his lost love, Peggy Carter.
In the present, old man Rogers was able to pass on his shield to Sam Wilson, choosing him as his successor.
With T'Challa returned, Shinji was finally allowed to leave Wakanda permanently. Wakanda was able to use Shinji's blood to synthesize a new Panther-Potion to be used for future Black Panthers, which upset T'Challa to learn that Shinji had been used as a guinea pig.
This would also help to save T'Challa's life when he unexpectedly came down with a terminal illness.
The synthesized Panther-Potion rejuvenated him and gave Wakanda a new means of creating future Black Panthers.
Shuri eventually realizes that Shinji's own unique genetics combined with T'Challa's black panther powers enabled them to create a more potent form of the heart-shaped herb while everyone had been snapped away by Thanos.
Shinji was given the title of 'Night Panther', and made Wakanda's official representative on the Avengers team.
With Steve Rogers retired, Sam Wilson was given the mantle of Captain America.
However, he doesn't feel up to the task. Especially with him not feeling like a super soldier like Steve Rogers was.
However, all that was about to change.

Here's a little idea I've been working on for a crossover with Evangelion and The Falcon And The Winter Soldier mini-series.
This will be a Shinji/Rei story, and will detail their lives as super soldiers like Steve and T'Challa.
