Unknown Territory

Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Blue Bloods characters. They belong to CBS. I'm just borrowing them for a little while. But I do own a few original characters. Summary: Jamie and Eddie go undercover as an expectant couple trying to bust a very large adoption ring. A/N: I've been working on this idea for awhile. Not sure where this is going to go yet. Date Started: 6/27/23. Date Finished: 6/27/23.

Jamie had just come out of the locker room as Eddie was coming towards him. She was about to say something when a Chief Williams approached the partners.

"Reagan! Janko! In my office!"

Eddie looked at Jamie and spoke up as they made their way to the chief's office.

"What do you think he wants?"

Jamie shrugged his shoulders and stepped into Chief Williams office. He pointed to the pair and then at the door.

"Shut the door."

Eddie felt the hair on the back of her neck stand on end. There were a lot of people in his office. Chief Williams sat on the edge of his desk.

"I want to bring up an opportunity that has arisen. Officer Reagan, before I took over for Chief Arbogast, he aprised me of the excellent undercover work you did, despite almost being killed. He trusted your judgment. Officer Janko, you did outstanding work on your undercover op last year. For this particular opportunity I want two of the best officers. You two do excellent work and I believe doing an undercover op you can accomplish the task at hand. Have either of you heard of Ronald Rolanil?"

Jamie and Eddie furrowed their eyebrows. It was Jamie who answered.

"He supposedly runs an adoption/extortion ring. His MO is targeting affluent expectant couples, threatening to kidnap the wife if he doesn't get a large sum of money as payment for her return. No one has been able to prove the ring actually exists let alone catching him."

Chief Williams nodded his head and sat back on his desk slightly.

"I'm impressed with the work the two of you have done. That's why I would like to tag the two of you for this undercover assignment. There would be a promotion in it for the two of you if you bust this thing wide open."

Eddie nodded and Jamie squeezed her hand to give himself some reassurance.

"Absolutely boss."

Chief Williams nodded his head and put his hands on his knees, getting up from his desk.

"Alright. I will have a team helping you through this every step of the way. We've already got your identities set up. Officer Reagan, you are Doctor Benjamin Stevenson. Your a Pediatrician at Saint Andrews hospital. Officer Janko, you are a lawyer practicing family law. Your undercover wardrobe is going to take a little while. It took Jamie about half an hour to put together his clothing for his undercover persona. Eddie on the other hand took about an hour. She was sitting in a chair in a conference room at the end of the hall. Jamie had come into the room. She smiled at him.

"That looks good on you Reagan. Nice suit."

Eddie couldn't believe how heavy the suit she was wearing under her clothes felt. She looked up to a woman in the corner of the room.

"Is this fake baby belly filled with bird seed?"

The woman who worked with undercover shook her head.

"No. It's filled with Saline, Vaseline and fake blood. Those sensors we put on either side of your hips your lower back and abdomen will communicate with the belly. Inside is a very real looking baby. You can put it in a nursery with other newborn babies and you couldn't tell them apart. You might want to stay seated for the next few minutes, have to test a couple of sensors."

Eddie looked up at the woman.

"How uncomfortable is this going to get?"

The woman stayed serious but she had a sympathetic look on her face.

"We have the sensors set up to make it feel like real labor."

Eddie muttered under her breath.

"Great."

As Jamie and Eddie made their way into their undercover apartment in an upscale apartment building, they felt relieved to know that the building was all undercover cops just like them. Jamie unlocked the door to the apartment and Eddie was about to step over the threshold. He stopped her.

"We gotta play the part Eddie. Let me carry you over the threshold."

Eddie shot him a look of shock.

"Jamie. No. I don't want you to throw your back out. With this fake belly I've got 40 extra pounds on me."

Jamie began trying to scoop Eddie up. He made it the five feet inside the apartment and set her down. Eddie winced as she waddled towards the couch. Her feet were killing her.
