Bella's pov
I walked up the steps of their overly nice home. I mean how did I attract a rich doctor? Why does he want to take me in? Why did I agree to this? Is there any ill intentions?
Maybe I didn't realize I had trust issues until now. But do you blame me? I've been by myself for so long. The only person who never let me down before is me.
As he opened the door, he probably noticed my anxiety.
"It'll be alright" he told me. As if he knew my thoughts going wildly through my head.
I followed him inside. There was four people waiting, my heart felt like knives were stabbed through. He motioned towards a girl, probably mid twenties
"this is my wife Esme"
Then he pointed at two blond teenagers. I'd guess sixteen. "These are the twins I told you about"
Then lastly, he motioned at the last one. A girl, who was almost doll like. "That is Alice" then out of nowhere she ran up and hugged me.
"We will be best of friends, I can already see it"
All I could do is smile. I never been hugged, not that I could remember at least. I also never had a friends. I was to excluded from everyone for that.
Alice's pov
"Be careful alive" Carlisle whispered to low for the human to hear
"Alice how about you show Bella to her room" this time he hearable to Bella
I grabbed her hand and brought her upstairs and to her bedroom.
I could see what a rough life she lived through. She was relatively clean. Badly scarred, seems a bit shaken. She probably doesn't trust any of us. I don't blame her. I know we will be good friends.
We sat on her bed. For a while we just sat. Finally I spoke up.
"You know you don't have to be scared of us. I know you ability to trust probably went down the drain a long time ago. At one point we all felt the same until we were brought here. Carlisle showed us what it was to be a family unlike our screwed visions of family we had before"
"It is just hard. I've been alone for so long and I will admit I'm scared this is just going to be temporary. That I'll be unwanted like I have my entire life"
"Bella, he wouldn't of offered if he didn't want you forever. I promise that. I wouldn't doubt if he is looking for the paper to officially foster if not adopt you right now."
"Thanks I needed that" and then she gave me a heart melting smile
Carlisle pov
"She seems so broken, but from what I hear upstairs she's warming up to Alice quick"
"I know she'll come around pretty fast Esme. I just don't know how to blend with a human in the household. I'm scared of how this will go"
"Give her a week to settle in and then we can sit down and explain everything to her. Until then we act as human as possible but more then likely she'll notice things that are different about us in that week anyway"
"Esme, you know what will happen if the Voltori finds out that we told her"
"Carlisle, I know you already love her like the other three. I know that you usually don't want to put this on anyone who can survive without it but I also know you won't want to loose her. As long as she wants it you will do it, if it's this year or ten years from now"
"You are right"
"So let's give it a week"
