In the final round of the Grand Magic Games, the magic vehicle race had started. 4 guilds are competing with 10 magic vehicles in total. 2 guilds use 3 vehicles while the other 2 use 2 vehicles.
Fairy Tail uses 3 vehicles and all 3 were cars that had been modified. Their designs were based on Ben's preference because he was the one who made and modified them with the help of some engineers.
The first car is designed based on the Batmobile which had wings on it's rear end. Ben didn't change a lot of the rear design because he really liked the Batmobile as it is. Well, there was a minor difference from the Batmobile in Batman because Ben didn't know a lot of the details and just knew it's basic design.
The 2nd car was Herbie, a car based on the Volkswagen Beetle. It may look small and cute but the power hidden under it's cover is that of a monster. It's exterior just looked like Herbie except for the number which had been changed to the Fairy Tail symbol.
Lastly, the 3rd car didn't resemble a car at all. It was a truck, designed after Optimus Prime's truck form. This vehicle was bigger than any other magic vehicle in this race.
Ben still had some cars that he wanted to make based on his favorite movies and games. But making them will take time and money so he will do it slowly. These 3 plus Light Runner are enough for now.
Max was driving the Batmobile. Laki and Gea are driving Herbie. Optimus Prime was being driven by Vijeeter and Hans. Each car has it's own role in this race which had been planned by Ben after 3 days of preparation.
The 3 cars lined up with the Batmobile in the front, Herbie in the middle and Optimus Prime in the back. The other guilds are lining up beside them so there are 4 lines. They are all prepared to race with their uniquely designed magic vehicles.
Soon, the race started and Fairy Tail's team moved at full speed immediately. They are really fast because their cars' engines are more powerful than the other teams. Even the big Prime is faster than the old generation magic vehicles.
The only team that could keep up with them was Lamia Scale which also used 2 new generation cars too. Those cars were Ben's gift for their help when he wanted to become a Wizard Saint. Their designs are like that of a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and a Mini Cooper.
Ben designed the cars that his company made based on commercial cars. These 2 cars that he gave to Lamia Scale were his company's first products. They will be mass produced but these 2 have special engines and they are fast.
Ben started regretting giving them fast cars that can move as fast as his guild's cars. He should've just given them normal cars that his company will produce.
A little about Ben's car company. It had just been established last December and they haven't sold any cars. They still train their workers and secure the supply of materials. There were other things to prepare too so they haven't sold anything.
But everything went well so far and if nothing went wrong, then they'll be able to sell their products at the end of this year. If his business goes well, Ben can secure his and his family's future.
Back to the race, Fairy Tail and Lamia Scale are competing in the front. The other 2 guilds can't catch up to them with their old generation magic vehicles. Their speed is too far apart so these guilds can't compete for 3rd place.
Fairy Tail and Lamia Scale that were racing in the front are attacking each other just like the 2 guilds behind them. They use their magic to attack the other team's cars. But Lamia Scale's attacks were futile because Ben had installed magic barriers on his guild's cars.
"Ha ha ha, those feeble spells won't be able to break our cars' barriers." Ben laughed evilly.
"Damn, you planned this out thoroughly. But don't get too happy yet, Ben." Jura said with a smirk.
Fairy Tail's team attacks Lamia Scale's team but their attacks were also blocked by magic barriers. Just like Fairy Tail, Lamia Scale had thoroughly prepared for this race. Besides, Ben had installed defense mechanisms on these cars before he gave them to Lamia Scale.
"Damn bastards. You're really using everything I gave you against me." He angrily said.
"He he, that's your own fault." Jura smirked.
Ben just clicked his tongue and looked at the screen again. He suddenly smirked because this is still within his prediction. He knew the cars he made the best so of course, he knew their defense mechanisms.
Now, the 2 teams that were competing in the front can't attack each other because it's useless. So they try to disturb each other with their cars. Lamia Scale uses their Rubicon while Fairy Tail uses Optimus Prime.
Size wise, Optimus Prime was bigger so it can push the Rubicon easily. While the 2 cars attack each other, the other 3 are rushing and leave the 2 behind. But then the Batmobile attacked the Mini Cooper by slamming it's body from the side.
It gave Herbie a chance to move faster and leave the other cars behind. Now their number advantage has shown results. But there's nothing Lamia Scale can do because they only have 2 new generation magic cars.
If they used the old generation, they wouldn't be able to keep up with Fairy Tail's speed. The speed of the new and old generation cars is too far apart. So Lamia Scale can only use the 2 cars that they got from Ben if they want to win because their opponent is the one who made the new generation cars.
The cars keep moving along the route. The route of this race is from the city to the desert, then the forest, rocky mountain, crossing rivers, another forest and back to the city. It is truly an off-road race.
As Optimus and Rubicon disturb each other, their speed was reduced significantly. It allowed the 2 guilds behind them to catch up. They can't let it happen so Optimus releases some balls that release thick smoke.
The cars behind them can't see forward and they slow down. But then they suddenly slip because there is a lot of oil on the track. Optimus released the oil after the smoke bombs.
The ones in Rubicon were impressed but then their car also slipped because Optimus also shot oil on the ground in front of the Rubicon. Vijeeter and Hans who were driving Optimus laugh mischievously as they leave Rubicon behind.
Ben smirked as he watched this and the corner of Jura's mouth twitched in anger. He became depressed when Max who drove the Batmobile also shot some smoke bombs to obstruct the Mini Cooper driver's sight and leave it behind.
The defense mechanisms will block direct attacks aimed at the cars. But they won't block an indirect attack that isn't aimed at the cars. So Ben added the smoke bombs and oil shooter to their 3 cars.
Now, Herbie who was undisturbed put distance with the 2nd place vehicle. The Batmobile that had stopped the Mini Cooper's pace is moving fast and leaving it behind. Optimus that had left the Rubicon in the dust was chasing after the Mini Cooper to disturb it.
Fairy Tail's drivers no longer use an indirect attack and just drive as fast as they can for the rest of the race. Then after driving through the rest of the route, they win the race. Herbie in 1st place, Batmobile in 2nd and Mini Cooper in 3rd.
Optimus couldn't chase Mini Cooper because it is too big and can't move freely in some areas. But it still took 4th place and secured a lot of points for the team. So for the 1st Grand Magic Games, Fairy Tail was the winner and Lamia Scale was runner up.
