A/N Hello again. I hope you're ready for the new chapter. Got a bit of a late start because of Easter, but I'm still going to deliver for you here. Plus, I bet you're wondering what happened to the boys after the last chapter. Won't keep you wondering too long, let's roll.
It wasn't clear how it happened, but somehow, Gregory was knocked out as he was falling down the garbage chute. Of course, he only realized this when he was waking up with a full-blown headache. He couldn't open his eyes at first because the pain was so bad, but eventually he found the strength to sit up straight again. When he did finally open his eyes after what felt like an eternity, he found himself sitting on a pile of trash.
The room he was in was very dimly lit, so he could barely make out the scattered components of animatronics and S.T.A.F.F. bots that were surrounding him. There didn't appear to be any end in sight to them. As a matter of fact, from what he could see, the place he found himself in was huge. It was like a warehouse that would have been right at home in a shipyard. Was he still under the diner?
If this was the reason Foxy told him not to go to the lower level, he could understand why. It would be incredibly easy to get lost down here in the low light, especially if there were piles of scrap scattered about. And it looked like there might have been. Regardless, Gregory knew he had to find a way out as soon as possible. He only knew of one thing that could have been brought here from the Pizzaplex that could have had tentacles like that, and if that thing was here, he didn't know what would happen.
He looked around the distance ahead, as there was a wall behind him, and he eventually saw a red light flashing in the distance. Bingo. Granted, from what he knew, flashing red lights could mean anything but his ticket out of here, but what else was he going to do now? Thankfully, he remembered his flashlight this time, so he pulled it out from his side pocket straight away. Somehow, it was still working after that fall, and Gregory intended to make use of it after that.
He began running across the piles of debris in front of him, shining the flashlight in every angle as he moved toward the flashing light. He didn't know what was down here, and he didn't want to. He just wanted out and back to his friends. He ran and ran, and before he knew it, he was about one hundred feet from the light. His flashlight could only illuminate so much within that distance, but from the residual light he could clearly see that there was indeed a door in front of him to his right.
Gregory breathed a sigh of relief and picked up the pace.
SLAM!
The sudden appearance of a tentacle across the door frame stopped his advance immediately, and he bolted in the opposite direction of the door. Suddenly he heard a loud roar, and he knew it was too late. Whatever that Blob of moving scrap was, it had seen him now, and he had to find a way to get out of there, or else. Before he even knew it, he was at the opposite wall to the door, and he was looking for a way out, but that's when his path was blocked on both sides by mounds of scrap being thrown at the wall.
He looked at the disturbing amalgamation in front of him, its massive size blocking a direct path out as well. The animatronic head at the forefront, which appeared to be Freddy's head with a white and pink coloration, eyed the boy intently. Though he knew it may not do him any good, he pointed the Fazerblast at the behemoth, willing to fight back against anything it had to throw at him.
But then, it spoke.
"We were unsure if you would awake," it said. "You were hit in the head as we were bringing you down. We did not realize it was you. But I can see you are uninjured. That is good."
It sounded like at least twenty voices were speaking in unison. It was intimidating, but Gregory stood his ground.
"What do you want with me?" he questioned without moving. "Are you working for Afton, too?"
"NOOO!" the "Blob' suddenly roared, as if that was the worst thing he could have said. Gregory was unsure if it was the shock or the sudden rumbling that caused him to fall backwards.
"We will never serve Afton. Never!" it went on. "He has made us all suffer, wrought so much pain on us…but you know this, do you not? You have not come here on coincidence. You know the demon's name. What business do you have with him?"
The boy was not sure he should tell, but decided he had better give an answer.
"Let's just say I'm against him too, and I want to put a stop to what he's planning," he replied.
"Ah," the 'Blob' replied, "So you are a victim as well. Good."
"Who…what are you?" Gregory asked in confusion.
The entity in question seemed to widen itself at this, revealing the heads and parts of multiple animatronics. They kept moving as the conversation went on.
"We are all his victims," the voices explained. "Each of us losing the things we hold dear because of him"
"Children who lost mothers," came a childlike voice coming from a boy with a propeller hat.
"Mothers who lost children," came a motherly voice from a head with blue hair in a top bun.
"Creations mistreated," came a static filled voice from a white fox head.
"Creations discarded," came a distorted voice from a faceless rabbit.
"Dreams halted," came a teenaged voice from half a chicken torso.
"Nightmares begun," came a deep voice from a mask similar to Charlie's.
"We are all of these… and worse," the voices said in unison again.
Gregory was definitely unsure of what to make of this. This thing was just trying to attack him last month, but it was against Afton. He supposed he was speaking to a bunch of ghosts here, but maybe he could get some help from them?
"I don't want that for anyone else," he said boldly. "Can you tell me how to stop him?"
"There are many of us, you could ask," the entity explained, "but there is one who has suffered greater than the rest. Speak to her first."
The 'Blob' then separated more mechanical components from within itself until it revealed and older model Freddy casing with a gold color. There were no eyes, but it was fully intact, with a blue hat and bow tie. The head was arranged to look directly at Gregory, and another, feminine, childlike voice came forward.
"Hi," it said, "I'm Cassidy."
Gregory's eyes widened. He knew that name. "You-you're one of the missing kids!"
"Yes," Cassidy replied, "but that was only one of his crimes…Would you like to meet everyone?"
Meanwhile, Freddy was also regaining consciousness after his knock on the head. He was sitting up in what felt like a chair and was still rather disoriented since he was still rebooting. And his head really hurt, so much he couldn't lift it right away.
"Ugh…What happened?" he groggily asked no one in particular. "Did…I take some trauma?"
"Not like I did, but that'll change soon," a voice responded.
The bear suddenly realized; he knew that voice. He bolted up quickly and saw a certain alligator standing over him, arms crossed with a big smirk on his face. He was standing in front of a large computer monitor, the light illuminating him in an imposing manner.
"Monty!" Freddy exclaimed. "Gregory said you were here! I knew I had to see you eventu..."
He stopped when he saw the state Monty was in along with the crude patchwork that Vanny had done around his midsection.
"What's happened to you?" the bear asked.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" Monty responded, chuckling cruelly. "But this is an improvement compared to what that little brat did to me. Speaking of which…how ya liking the claws?"
Freddy remembered Gregory also took the alligator's claws to upgrade him further. Another relic from an old friend brought to him in the name of survival. He didn't feel comfortable mentioning it to the one they were taken from, but he decided to humor him given what Gregory said happened last night.
"Well, I think they—" And that's when he realized he couldn't move.
He looked around at where he was sitting and finally saw that he was bound to the chair he was sitting in with zip ties. He figured out then, that this was not going to be a friendly chat. This was confirmed when he looked up and saw Monty still chuckling darkly, his grin growing wider.
"Monty," the bear said in a frightened tone, "what's going on?"
"The end, Fazbear," the gator replied menacingly, "for you and that kid. I'm beyond ready to see you ripped to pieces and stuck down here forever, but we need that kid first. Why dontcha tell me where he is, and I'll make things quick between us."
Freddy sat there in sudden fear of his former friend. "I-I do not know—"
He was cut off by a sudden punch to the midsection.
"LIAR!" Monty bit back. "You were calling for him when I found you. You had to be following him somewhere. I bet he's just ichin' to steal some parts from here to make you even better."
"I swear I don't know!" Freddy responded. "He was taken by…something. I am not sure what. I was trying to find him."
"You can't play dumb for nothin', bear," came the snarky response from the gator. "You better stop trying."
He followed this up with a swift smack to the face, knocking Freddy to his side while still in the chair.
"Monty!" Freddy called in shock. "Why are you doing this? I am your friend!"
This was met with a kick to the chest, which he could feel loosen the impact.
"Don't patronize me, Mr. I-love-everybody!" roared Monty. "You never gave two cents about me. Yeah…I'll bet you're just jumpin' up and down to see me here."
Freddy was incensed. "That is not true!"
"Oh yeah?" the shattered alligator retorted. "What about that first week after Bonnie was decommissioned. All them kids coming up to you and asking 'Where's Bonnie? Where's Bonnie?' You just smiled and gave 'em that stupid excuse corporate came up with, but I could see you felt just the same as they did. You wanted him back as soon as I stepped up to pick up his spot in the band."
"That was not against you!" Freddy pleaded. "I was mourning the loss of a friend!"
"He didn't need mourning," Monty argued back. "His popularity was starting to lower, merchandise wasn't selling. He was a has-been! If you'd have given it two more months, he'd have been gone anyway…I tell you what, though, it sure felt good to get rid of him myself."
Freddy gasped as he remembered more of the logs Gregory found at the Pizzaplex, particularly of how Bonnie was last seen at the Monty's Gator Golf attraction. He didn't want to believe it could have happened when he read it, but now…
"So, it was you," the bear responded as he looked on in horror. "You're the one that destroyed Bonnie."
The gator just smirked in triumph. "I was the only one that Vanny formally introduced herself to. The whole virus thing was fun and all, but she wanted to talk to me personally. She told me she was trying to revive Afton and needed some parts to make a body for him…And I was happy to oblige."
Freddy couldn't believe what he was hearing. How could his own friend do something so horrible? How could he want to do something so horrible?
"Why?" he asked desperately "Why would you agree to this?"
"Like I said, Fazbear," Monty haughtily explained, "that rabbit was on his way out, so somebody had to fill in his shoes. And it's about to be the same way for you. I should be the one leading these shows! My face should be front and center on them signs! This company should have a no-nonsense rockstar as its mascot, not a giant softy like you!"
"But you are talking about helping a murderer!" Freddy retorted. "He will undoubtedly kill more people if you let him achieve his goals. The children you were programmed to make happy, Monty!"
"Some of them kids ain't never gonna be happy!" the gator barked back. "They're just like your little scrapper. Spoiled! Bratty! Still throwing tantrums after getting everything they want! So what if a few of them have to die? I'll take that over a sappy attention hog like you any day."
Freddy was incredibly saddened and terrified. All this time, he thought Monty was his friend, but hearing what he had to say now…Had he felt this way the whole time? Freddy wondered what he could have done to stop him from resorting to this, and he made one final plea.
"Monty, I do not know what Vanny has told you, or what has caused you to feel this, but please, I just want to go back to the way things were."
The gator delivered another punch to Freddy's face upon hearing this.
"That's exactly what I'm talking about," he snarled. "You think everything was so hunky-dory back in those days, and you just want to forget everything and go back. It ain't happening, you wimp, so why don't you just give up on it?"
The light of another computer screen suddenly flashed on.
"Don't take it personally, Monty," came Circus Baby's voice. "That has always been in his nature."
Baby stepped in front of the illuminated screen, making her presence known at last, eyeing Freddy as a predator would its prey. Monty finally backed away from the bear as she approached, and she forcefully stood his chair upright again. Slightly disoriented again, he recognized the animatronic that went after Gregory last night.
"You again!" he exclaimed. "Who are you?"
"You know who I am," she softly bit back, "and I will make sure you are properly punished for everything you have done, you traitorous little louse!"
She was putting immense pressure on the bear's shoulder as she said this until she punched him in the face at the end. He was shocked at the sudden violence, but soon realized what she could be referring to.
"This is about the missing children, is it not?"
She said nothing.
"You are one of them, are you not?"
Still nothing.
"Listen, I realize I may possibly be possessed by…Gabriel I believe his name was, but I—"
"No, you dummy!" Baby interrupted, grabbing his ear. "Gabriel's gone. They're all gone! They've moved on. Didn't you hear what Monty just said? You won't move on. You won't let go of everything that has happened. Isn't that why you betrayed me? Why you betrayed Daddy? Answer me!"
It felt as though she was about to rip Freddy's ear off, but he somehow spoke through the pain.
"I-I do not know what you are talking about!" he stammered out.
The clown laughed, tightening her grip. "Now you don't remember. After sabotaging every one of his efforts to achieve greatness for us, now you want to act like it never happened."
Freddy cringed under the pain. "What do you mean? What could I have done?"
She finally released him backing away slowly.
"Well," she continued, "it doesn't matter whether you remember me or not. Our objective here is to find that boy, and you will tell us where he is."
Of course, Freddy really didn't know where Gregory was, but that doesn't mean he would tell them even if he did. He stood his ground from where he was sitting determined to keep his friend safe.
"I said before, I do not know!" he barked out.
"Sure, you do," Baby murmured sweetly. "All you need in order to tell us is the proper…motivation."
She walked to Freddy's left side where there appeared to be a large transformer box, and from the side of the box she pulled two large jumper cables.
"This is nothing that a controlled shock cannot fix," she taunted.
Monty gave a hearty laugh when he saw this. "This is gonna be fun."
The whole time Vanessa and Fifi had been looking for their missing companions. Communications seemed to be down, so they couldn't contact them directly. Because of this, they had been searching everywhere they could reach trying to find them, but now it seemed they had gotten in a bit of trouble. They stood next to one another, staring straight forward, neither daring to blink.
"So, as long as we keep looking at them…they won't move, right?" Fifi asked unmoving.
"That's the idea," Vanessa confirmed anxiously.
In front of them were about ten animatronic Endoskeletons that appeared to be from the Pizzaplex, frozen in what appeared to be a state of pursuit. Since they weren't being used for any animatronics, they should have been able to move in the first place, but Afton's influence seemed to cause them to behave in the way they were now, as Vanessa had explained to Fifi prior.
"Best bet right now would probably be to wait until your camera's charged. Then you can flash them and we can run away while they're stunned," the former guard explained.
"I don't understand why this thing needs time to charge between uses in the first place," the mouse replied, still looking forward. "It's a digital camera, isn't it?"
"Those things weren't actually supposed to be used at first," Vanessa explained. "The higher-just had a few old Polaroid cameras reskinned to be sold as toys, but then demand grew from older patrons to make them actually functional. So, they had the missing components replaced and added a computer chip, but that, of course, let to technical issues that they had to disguise as feature."
"Okay…," a confused Fifi mused. "I didn't think Fazbear Entertainment would be so willing to reuse old tech…and in such a stupid way."
"To be honest, Fifi," the woman responded, "I'm surprised they even shelled out the money to make you from scratch. I'd have just expected a new character casing for one of these Endos, even if it was full of bugs."
"Um…Thanks, I guess?"
The two of them continued staring, but after a few seconds saw a new figure enter at the back of the pack, notably with a white and pink casing, and it turned to face them. Fifi was quick to notice the bulging eyes on this bird-like figure, as well as a black hole where a beak likely would have been.
"Uh…" she stuttered, fear filling her voice, "Who's that?"
"Another one of your coworkers," Vanessa anxiously replied. "Meet Glamrock Chica."
"Great…The staring thing's not gonna work on her, is it?"
"Nope."
The mouse's fears were confirmed as Chica suddenly started walking toward them at a brisk pace, working her way around the Endos in front of her and raising a hand. Suddenly a loud 'beep' came from the Fazcam. It was charged!
"Finally!" Fifi exclaimed, and she swiftly picked it up from around her neck and hit the button. Immediately, Chica and the Endos began convulsing, and the ladies took this as their cue to leave, running down the hall to their left.
"This way!" Vanessa called pointing down a hall to the right that was full of junk. The two ran about fifty feet down this hall until…
"Come out and plaaaay!" came Vanny's sing-song voice.
They immediately halted their advance and quickly looked at the surroundings. Vanessa noticed what appeared to be an industrial sized laundry basket about 10 feet behind them.
"Quick, in here!" she whisper-yelled pointing to it. Both of them climbed in at the same time, rolling onto their backs as they entered. Vanessa pulled Fifi close and placed a hand over her mouth, shushing her. She could clearly hear footsteps coming directly to them. Before long, she could see Vanny's mask directly over them, those crimson eyes searching for a victim.
"Where is everybody?" the madwoman asked, not seeing them. "I just wanna have some fun!"
A/N And I'll leave it here. I hope you all enjoyed this one, because this was a bit of a challenge for me. I'm really hoping to get some feedback for how I wrote Monty here and how I can move forward in this direction with him. Also, I may not have provided too much material for the girls in this chapter, but there'll be more in the next chapter, I promise. Either way, thanks so much for reading and leave a review if you can. I'll see you next time!
