A/N Hello again everyone. Hope you've had a lovely day, and are ready for the aftermath of Night 4. It was a fun night to write, I will say that, but now I think it's time to wind down and give a bit more exposition. It'll just be back to one aftermath this time around though, so we'll get back into the action quick. For now, though, just sit back, relax and enjoy.

Now that everyone was actually starting to get more comfortable around one another, the car ride back was a lot less tense. The group was talking to each other the whole time, and for once it wasn't involving any worries about their current predicament. Instead, it was about the triumphs they had all faced, their lives until this point, and just generally shooting the breeze. None of them had ever considered themselves to be good at small talk, but before any of them knew it, they were back at the house.

There was definitely still pep in their steps as they walked in, but they were still quite aware of what they had gained that night. Every ounce of information Afton had hidden from them was now stored on the Fazwatches, and the big question now was what were they going to do with it. When they all were in the talking finally ceased, and Gregory took of his watch again, handing it to Vanessa.

"So, what happens now?" he asked.

The blonde took the watch and looked at both his and hers quizzically.

"I guess it'd probably be best if I look at them myself first," she mused. "With Henry's help, I should at least be able to decipher the technical stuff. Then I can let you know what's going on."

"I think I can help with that as well," said Freddy. "With Michael's memories of running a franchise, the business information should be no issue."

Vanessa gave a crooked smile. "Guess I can't argue with that."

"You know, I still don't feel right about this," Roxy said. "We just saw someone get killed last night. What if we find something that gets us more in trouble than that?"

"The risks were not lost on us when we started this venture, Roxy," said Freddy. "We told you that. I know this monster better than anyone else alive, and I'll do what I can to put a stop to what he is doing. But I know he has put us all through a lot…especially you recently. I don't want you to worry anymore though, so let us handle this for now."

"Freddy…" she stopped when he put his hand on her shoulder.

"It will be fine," the bear continued. "Just stay up here with Gregory and Fifi for now and relax. Once we have everything sorted, we will inform you."

Roxy looked down and took a deep breath. "…Okay."

Vanessa gave a slight smile at this. She motioned for Freddy to come on, and he followed, looking at Roxy one last time as he did. The wolf stood there, looking on, until she felt Gregory grab her hand.

"Just think," he said. "We got farther last night with this than we even thought we could, and now we might be able to stop Afton from hurting anyone else. I don't know about you, but I'm proud of that."

Roxy sure had to admire this kid's guts. She smiled down at him.

"You know…I am too," she took a moment to stretch. "Maybe I do deserve a bit of a break."

"That's what I thought," said Gregory contently. "Come on, we'll watch some T.V."

"You'll love it! It's awesome!" Fifi concurred, already at the couch.

Roxy gave a laugh and followed her new friend's lead.

A couple of hours passed by as Freddy and Vanessa went through the files with Henry, deciphering as much as they could. What they had obtained was a veritable treasure trove of information. The murders, Remnant, William's testing, even the hauntings. It was all there. It amazed them just how close they had actually gotten to stopping William with last night's venture, especially with the poor luck they had the rest of the week. But it also horrified them how many secrets Fazbear Entertainment had been hiding this whole time.

One thing they hadn't noticed throughout what they had looked at so far, though, was a clear motive on William's part. There were notes on every test, every design, every newsletter, but nothing gave them an actual clue about why he was doing all of this. That was the main reason they tried to get this information, but they still had no idea what he was trying to do. As much as they were excited about this, they were also annoyed they were not getting anywhere. Still, it was good information to have, disturbing as it may be.

The mood took a slight turn, however, when they opened the last file. This file was something neither of them had expected to see, especially in such an ancient place as that diner. It was Fifi's blueprint. They would have thought for sure that kind of thing would have been erased if investors didn't buy into her, but here it was. And when they examined it…what they found was unsettling. Vanessa looked up at it worriedly.

"Well…that's…disconcerting," she said slowly.

"To say the least," Freddy replied, a similar look on his face.

"Sh-She wouldn't know about this, would she?"

"I'd say not," Henry cut in. "William knew how to keep these functions a secret, even from the animatronics. I'm sure you can attest to that Freddy. Especially with Mike's memories, you should know by now that your stomach hatch was not originally just for cake."

The bear looked down. "Yes, I do…now."

"Plus," Henry continued, "you said she blacked out in the vents when Monty attacked her, correct?"

"That's what she told me, yeah," said Vanessa.

"Mhm. I'd say she doesn't know…but this is the kind of thing that can be really dangerous if left unchecked, even with her nature. You'll have to tell her soon."

The blonde shook her head. "I know…but I want to hold off a bit on that. This situation's stressful enough, I don't want to burden her."

"Are you sure that is wise, Vanessa?" Freddy asked. "What if she…"

"I don't know," she whispered. "There's just so much I don't have the answers for."

Freddy shook his head solemnly. "You are right. I would say we will…just have to be careful for now. Also…do not feel like you have to have an answer for everything. You've done wonderfully so far throughout this, but we can help you if you need it."

Vanessa nodded. "I know…Well, there's nothing on here either, and…frankly I don't want to look at it anymore. Just, go ahead and store it, Henry, and we'll bring the others down."

"Very well," said Henry, and the image was removed from the screen.

After taking a moment to suppress the urge to vomit, Vanessa lead Freddy upstairs. On top of what she found out about Fifi, there was something she decided she wanted to tell Gregory once she had everything clear about what they found. Needless to say, she was getting quite the lump in her throat. However, it quickly went away when she saw what her two youngest charges were doing while she was away. There they were, right there in the living room, doing the unthinkable…playing with Roxy's hair.

Both Vanessa and Freddy looked on with shock and amusement. Roxanne Wolf, the one animatronic who was obsessed with looking perfect, was letting someone touch her hair. They looked on as she sat there with an uncomfortable smile while her hair was stroked and fiddled with in the most childish ways.

"I didn't think your hair could be so soft, Roxy," said Gregory while rubbing his cheek against it. "It's like a cloud."

The wolf felt a slight tingle as he did this. "W-Well, I was kinda the face of the beauty salon at the Pizzaplex, Greg. I had to take care of it, you know."

"Well, sure, but this is a whole other level," said Fifi, throwing some hair around her neck like a boa. "I could wrap myself up in this like a burrito. I'm not kidding!"

"Please don't," Roxy replied pulling it back. "You're lucky I'm even letting you touch it. Seriously, I don't like this."

Her smile was already betraying her, but Gregory decided to push things a little further.

"Oh, yeah?" he asked. "Then why's your tail wagging?"

She suddenly tensed as she realized her tail was indeed thumping against the couch cushions. She quickly grabbed it and held it close to her in embarrassment.

"Th-that's just a programming bug—it's nothing—shut up!" she stuttered.

Everyone other than the wolf burst into laughter. Seeing this definitely made Vanessa feel a bit better. She couldn't have imagined how everyone here could have changed so soon, if at all. Maybe the same was happening for her. She had to admit she would have liked a bit more of what she was seeing, but there was business to attend to.

"Alright, stop torturing her, you two," the blonde interrupted. "I think we've gotten all that we can out of those files, so I think we'd better talk now."

"Finally!" exclaimed Gregory. "Feels like we've been waiting for this for too long."

Vanessa shook her head. "You have no idea."

She motioned for them all to follow, and she led them down to the basement. There, Henry already had the files ready that needed to be shown.

"First of all, the good news," said Vanessa.

She gave a slight nod, and the screen filled up with newspaper clippings, blueprints, business letters, and an assortment of other documents showing what Afton and, indeed, Fazbear Entertainment was hiding behind the scenes. It could barely fit on the one screen that was on the fabricator. The three that just walked in watched the screen fill up with wonder.

"Woah!" they breathed at the same time.

"And this is just a fraction of what we got from last night," Freddy ascertained. "I never thought I'd be able to get any of this to see the light of day."

"Modern technology is truly a marvel," Henry added. "More than forty years of murder and deception brought to mortal eyes by two small watches."

"That's insane," Fifi said. "I bet those guys on the news would have a lot to talk about with this."

"They would," Vanessa replied, "which is why I don't want them seeing it…at least, not yet."

Gregory looked at the blonde quizzically. "Really? I thought you'd be all gung-ho about blackmailing Faz. En. To get back at them for what William did to you?"

Vanessa sighed. "I never really wanted to blackmail them, Gregory. I just wanted them to confront what I knew was going on behind the scenes. Every time, I brought it up, though, I'd get 'where's the proof?' when I knew they had to be hiding it. I knew they were. They said that VR game was to combat the bad publicity some indie developer was giving them from horror games he made, but they paid that developer to make them. I already had information on that, but William got to me before I could confront the higher-ups."

"You're kidding!" Roxy exclaimed. "Do you know how much flack we got from teenage guests about that?! Ugh, I guess any publicity's good publicity, huh?"

"Well, I don't want it to be that way anymore!" Vanessa continued. "Yes, I'm planning to tear down the company with this information, but…I think I want to build it back up again when I'm done with that. This was supposed to be a children's entertainment company, but it's so clear that greed had driven it back to what William wanted it to be…a façade for the worst kind of people. But I don't think it has to be that way anymore. It's going to take a lot of work, but maybe we can find a way for this franchise to actually earn the love it gets. To give kids a chance at happiness rather than using them as fuel. Yeah…I think I'll find a way to do that."

Gregory stared at her wide-eyed. "Well, that's…unexpected. Especially from you Vanessa. I thought you didn't like kids."

She crossed her arms. "Well…my perspective has definitely changed. I mean, hey! I survived with you for a month, right?"

"And I applaud you for that."

She giggled. "But seriously, it was a bit rough to adjust to everything when I brought you in. I guess that's the thing that scared me most: the responsibility. But despite the struggles…I got to know a really bright kid with a big heart who didn't deserve to have to go through what he did. Honestly, I just wish I was like you when I was your age, kid. It would have saved me a lot of trouble. It may not seem like it, but I've really enjoyed having you here, and…I don't think I want to lose that."

The boy's eyes went wide again and he stepped back slightly. "…What are you saying?"

Vanessa took in a gulp of air. "I'm saying…that when all this is over…I want to adopt you."

Gregory was stunned, as was everyone else in the room. Vanessa was known for being stand-offish especially when it came to kids. A rather inconvenient trait to have when working in a place meant for children's entertainment. And most of them, having gotten to know her now, could understand why, because of the way her childhood went. But this…this was really out of character for her. They knew she had come to care for this group, especially Gregory, but to this level? What exactly was going through her head.

"You…Wh-What?" Gregory finally stuttered out.

"I know it's a bit sudden, but…the way things are going I didn't know if I'd have another chance to tell you," The blonde continued. "I want you to have a good childhood, Gregory, and if we make it through this, I feel like I have to be the one to give it to you. I owe it to you, really. But I know we've had a rough start, so I'll only do it if you want me to."

He clutched his chest. "Vanessa, I…I don't know what to say—"

"Well like I said, we've still got a road ahead of us here, so…you've at least got time to think about it. You don't have to decide right now. Just let me know when you want to talk about it, okay?"

This was the most anxious Gregory had ever been. In his short life, he had seen so much, but the idea of actually having a family again scared him most. He kept reminding himself that he didn't want to lose anyone else, but he let himself get so close to everyone here. Now Vanessa wants to make it official? Could he really allow himself to get a new mother after what happened to his?

Oh well…at least she was giving him time to think. After the butterflies in his stomach calmed some, he nodded and said, "…Okay."

Vanessa gave a slight smile and patted his head, and she crossed back over in front of the maintenance table. Roxy decided to be the next one to speak.

"Okay, so…what more are we going to need to do now?" She acknowledged the articles onscreen. "You said this part was the good news. Is there bad news?"

"Well," Vanessa sighed. "We looked through every document on here trying to find out what William could be trying to do…and there's nothing."

"Nothing?!" the wolf exploded.

"Nothing! I thought there'd at least have some notes on his research papers about what he was trying to achieve, but there's not even that! I can't find anything that could even hint at what his goal is!"

"Indeed," Freddy interjected. "I knew my father was good at covering his tracks, but I did not think he would be this good."

"Which means we're back to square one AGAIN!" Fifi growled, stomping her foot.

"Calm down!" Vanessa exclaimed. "We can still find a way to stop him. There has to be something we missed over at the diner. We can go back tonight and keep looking."

"How can you be sure?" Gregory asked. "Every computer in that place has probably either been cleared out by Josh or infected by Afton's virus. And it's not like we can just walk up to the animatronics in there and ask them about it without them trying to kill us."

"Ha! Like that would even help," Roxy grumbled. "He never told me what he was doing when I was his puppet."

"Actually," Henry interjected, "I think there may be at least one that could help us. Remember I said that though the missing children have moved on, their memories may linger in the animatronics they possessed?"

"Yeah," said Gregory.

"Well, I never told you which of the missing children was the first to go. This madness started when William lured one little girl named Susie to her death under the pretense of helping her cope with losing her dog. All the rest came after her."

"So, she'd know the most about what's going on!" Vanessa realized. "Do you know what animatronic she possessed?"

"Well, you all know where Cassidy's soul lies, I'm sure. That will leave three boys and one girl, and out of the original four animatronics, there were three boys and one girl. Do you see where I'm going with this?"

"So, you mean…she was in Chica!" Gregory exclaimed.

"Of course!" Freddy added. "I knew Susie, too! Every version of Chica adopted her mannerisms after she possessed the original. If Susie was the first to go, she would have seen everything. So that means…Chica is our best source!"

"Well, that's easy, isn't it?" Fifi asked. "We're on good terms with Funtime Chica. We can just ask her, right?"

"If only it were that easy," Henry continued. "Remember I also said that some models hold more memories than others. I've spoken to Funtime Chica before, and she barely remembers a thing about Susie. I don't think she will be much help for you. However, I will say that I was quite impressed with how quickly Freddy here was able to remember Gabriel. That test with the name I provided was, honestly, a bit of a crapshoot, but with the results he provided, it seems to me that the Glamrock animatronics should have a high capacity for containing the memories of those lost."

"So basically, what your saying is…our best bet is finding Glamrock Chica," said Vanessa.

"That is exactly what I'm saying," he finished.

Everyone was silent as they took in what exactly needed to be done. Finally, Gregory stepped forward.

"Let's do it then," he said. "I'm more than willing to let go what she did to me at the Pizzaplex. I just hope she can do the same for me."

Henry laughed. "You're so mature for your age, Gregory. If you can keep that kind of respect throughout life, I think you'll go far."

The orphan gave a thumbs up.

"Okay. So, how are we going to find her?" asked Fifi skeptically. "She just seems to keep popping in and out when we least expect it, and I don't want to walk around haplessly trying to look for her like you had to with Roxy, Gregory."

"You have a point there," the boy replied with a frown. "And I'm not sure we can count on Charlie to help us again, especially after last night."

Suddenly, Roxy raised a finger. "Um…I wasn't sure if I should say anything, but in one of the storage rooms we ran by last night, I'm pretty sure I saw a few boxes of Monty's Mystery Mix."

Gregory jumped up. "Monty's Mystery Mix? That's perfect! Do you think you could take us to that storage room tonight?"

"Of course, I can," the wolf replied. "It wasn't to far from where we were last night."

"Excellent!" exclaimed Freddy. "You don't know how much you've just helped us, Roxy."

"Oh…Really?" she stuttered, twirling her hair. "W-Well…"

"Uhm, question," said Fifi with her hand raised. "Do I want to know what Monty's Mystery Mix is?"

"Oh, it is nothing bad I assure you," Freddy answered quickly. "You see, Monty's Mystery Mix was an exclusive flavor of ice cream sold at the Pizzaplex. They themed it around Monty in an effort to boost his popularity after…well…what happened with Bonnie."

The mouse just stared blankly. "Wow, the guy gets a whole flavor of ice cream, and he's still not satisfied with his popularity? What a diva."

"Well, it got recalled, so had had reason to be upset," Roxy explained in annoyance. "The thing is, though, it got recalled because of Chica's reaction to it, and that's what might help us."

"So, what was her reaction?"

"Well," Gregory explained, "the ice cream was actually pizza-flavored. And who do we know that's crazy about pizza?"

"Oooooohhhhh," Fifi sang, finally getting it. "So, we're going to use it to lure her in so we can catch her, right?"

"Exactly," said Vanessa. "And you said you were making another antivirus, right, Henry?"

"Yes," came the voice from the monitor. "There was enough of my data in what you found last night for me to make one more. That being the case, if she's still hostile, take extra care not to lose it."

"Right," the blonde confirmed. "Well, there we go. We're actually starting off with a plan. We can still put an end to all this. You won't have to see anyone else suffer for too long, Freddy."

"Oh, I hope not," came his reply. "It's been going on for too long."

"Don't worry, Freddy," Gregory went to comfort him. "When we're done with him, Afton won't even know what hit him. I know it!"

"Yeah!" Fifi called out enthusiastically, but then she realized something. "Wait…Pizza-flavored ice cream?"

Vanessa rolled her eyes. "Don't think about it too much, kid. This company's done a lot worse."

The mouse hated being reminded of that fact. "You're right…You know what? I'm tired, and my battery's low. I should get some rest before we have to go."

Gregory stifled a yawn. "…Good idea."

Vanessa took her charge by the hand. "Need anything before you go to bed?"

"N…No. Really. It's okay."

Vanessa nodded in understanding, and she led him on. Freddy and Roxy began to follow them as well.

"Actually…" Henry's voice came suddenly, "Roxy, would you mind hanging back for a moment. There's something I'd like to discuss with you."

The wolf looked at him confusedly. "Um…sure." She turned to Freddy. "…Guess I'll catch up in a bit?"

"No worries," he said as he turned to leave. Once everyone was out of the room, Roxy stood there politely, her hands behind her back, slightly rocking on her feet."

"So…What's up?" she asked.

After a few seconds, Henry finally answered. "I wanted to ask you a favor."

A/N And that'll do it. Like I said, mostly exposition, but I tried to fit in a little character development in there, like I always do. I always see a lot of stories on here that have Vanessa adopting Gregory immediately after the main conflict, but for this one I wanted to try having her suggest it to him earlier on and letting him evaluate his thoughts on the situation. I won't spoil too much here, though, but there is going to be some conflict with Vanny later on as well that may complicate things. Speaking of which, yes, you're going to have to wait to see what Roxy's favor to Henry is. It's called a cliffhanger for a reason. But either way, I hope you enjoyed it, and as always, leave a review if you can. Thanks again for reading, and I'll see you soon.
