A/N Hello all, and welcome to another chapter. I know, I had a long break again, but there's been a bit going on. Now that Halloween will be coming in about a month though, I'm getting myself back into this, so let's get into the meat of Night 5 for now. I'm looking forward to seeing what you all think about this night once I'm done here because there is going to be a lot to it. Please stay on the lookout for more. Either way, let's dive in!

Roxy could feel the uncomfortable sensation of waking up after another system shutdown. It was always hard for her to move after this, since she typically was always stuck in one place when management did this. This time, however, when she awoke, she couldn't move at all. Obviously, the last time this happened, when Josh captured her, she was restrained, but even then, she could move more than she could now.

When she opened her eyes and surveyed everything, she was surrounded by scrap, and though she had only been here when she was blind, she knew exactly where she was. The lower levels, the main part of the scrap heap. How she dreaded coming back here again. Things only got worse when she heard muffled screams beside her in a matter of seconds, she could see a black tentacle dragging her old co-worker, Vanessa, around in front of her. The tentacle was almost covering the blonde's whole body, including her mouth. Though she tried to scream to Roxy for help, her words could not come clearly.

The wolf suddenly realized this was what was restraining her too. She started wriggling around to free herself, but though she was an animatronic stronger than most humans, she could not fight her way out of her bindings. She kept fighting even as she was being moved, but then…she saw what was holding her in this trap. The 'Blob' brought her closer to its huge mass, the pink-and-white Freddy head eyeing her helpless body. This was the first time that Roxy could say she was truly paralyzed with fear. She wanted to keep fighting her way out of its grip, but she found herself so scared that she couldn't.

When the amalgamation seemed satisfied. It placed her down on the pile of rubbish it was standing on and, surprisingly, released her in one fluid motion. Roxy, though, just kept looking at it. She was free now. She could run. She could try and get Vanessa loose. She could find her way back to everyone. But she didn't. Her breath was still and she couldn't get past the fear she was feeling from the sight in front of her. Then the 'Blob' bent forward, and its chorus of voices gave a satisfied laugh.

"Quite the troublemaker, aren't you?" the mused. "It's a pity he found his way to you first. You could have been quite the asset for us…but you're free from him now. Perhaps that was for the best, so you can know the full extent of his wickedness."

Roxy shakily lifted a finger. "C-C-Cassidy?"

"Oh, much more than her, wolf," then they opened to reveal the Golden Freddy suit.

"But yes, I'm here too," Cassidy's voice responded.

"Wha-What are you going to do to me?" Roxy asked, still shaking.

"To you?" Another glance from the Freddy suit. "Why, nothing. You may have heard some unsavory things, but I'm not the enemy here. You know as well as I do that Afton is."

By this point, Vanessa had stopped struggling, and she looked at the scene in front of her incredulously. Something was up. She halfway expected Cassidy to crush Roxy by now, but instead she's talking. What is she playing at?

"You should know better, in fact," Cassidy continued. "Have you not already gone through your own personal Hell in the past month, orchestrated by his hand."

Roxy stopped shaking slightly and slowly lowered her hand. "Y-Yes."

"That's what I thought…Come now. Why don't we talk about it?"

The wolf was not sure if she should. Gregory did say Cassidy was just another of the psychopaths around here…but there was something about the way she spoke. Something that called to the victim that Roxy had become in the past month. Maybe one little story couldn't hurt. She took a deep breath, and began her tale.

Meanwhile Freddy was feeling quite a similar feeling. After having been incapacitated by the controlled shock before, he could feel the damage sustained to his wiring, on top of the reboot. He almost felt a sense of relief when he felt cold ground against his back. At least that meant he didn't have to wake up restrained again…but then he realized his hands and feet were bound. So much for that.

He quickly realized that he was in one of the restraints he and the others were being kept in last night. The metal slabs. He was indeed flat on his back though, but looking around, it almost seemed like the same room as last night. He wasn't sure…but it did almost seem like the monitors from that room were on in front of him. He could at least navigate his way back if he could confirm this and somehow manage to escape, so he lifted his head up to look ahead of him…but he instantly regretted it when he saw what was in front of him.

Standing in a row, backlit by the monitors were the three individuals that hated him the most: Monty…Baby…and William.

They all stood there smirking at him, and he yelped when he saw them, struggling against the restraints.

Monty gave a dark laugh at his reaction. "Looks like someone ain't too happy to see us," he mocked.

Baby giggled as well. "I suppose that's alright," she mused. "We're not too happy to see him either."

"Hm. Story of my life," William scoffed.

They all started moving towards the bear and he began to panic.

"What did you do with Gregory?" he demanded. "Where is he?!"

William then rushed him and dug his claws into his chest plate. Freddy barely held back screams as gashes were slowly driven through his chest.

"Always the same with you. Isn't it Mike?" he hissed. "Worrying so much about others without giving a thought to what might happen to you."

Baby cupped a hand under Freddy's chin. "I suppose that's why you wanted to free me, isn't it?" she cooed. "Just look at how it's come back to bite you."

"Please," the bear begged. "You know I didn't want this."

"Don't you give her that, bear!" Monty barked back, dropping his fist on Freddy's chest plate. "You always say that when you screw up. 'I didn't mean for that to happen.' 'I didn't want anyone to get hurt.' Who cares if you wanted it?! You just keep screwing up everything! If you didn't break down like you did that night, none of us would be here…but it looks like that's all you're ever gonna do. From what these two told me, it's all you have done."

Freddy shot the thing that used to be his father a look and was perturbed by the smirk on his face.

"You make me out to be a liar, Mike," the murderer mused, "but one thing I will always tell the truth about is the embarrassment of a son you have always been to me."

He walked over and their faces were inches apart. "I thought of all people, my firstborn son would understand what this world has done to people like you. To people like me, even. How unfair life is. How people never want to listen to you. How much better the world would be if you turned all the principles that make it what it is on their heads. You can't tell me you haven't once thought of such a reality. Where everything would finally go in your favor, and the key to happiness is in the palm of your hand. And yet, you oppose me as I find myself on the edge of achieving that. Just who is a liar here?"

Freddy took in a shaky breath. "I don't care what you do to me," he pleaded. "Just please…don't hurt Gregory. He wouldn't have had anything to do with this if he hadn't found me."

William cocked his head. "You have quite a fixation on this poor boy, don't you? Tell me…do you have any idea why that is?"

A skeptical look. "What do you mean?"

"Well, let me be the first to say that this is pure coincidence, but it seems to me the boy looks familiar. Doesn't it seem that way to you? You have your memories back. Don't you think he bares an uncanny resemblance to the one you killed with your own hands?"

There it was! Freddy couldn't put his finger on it at first, but in that moment, he realized that's what set off everything. The malfunctions that night at the Pizzaplex started when he saw Gregory! The child's hair. His shirt. His eyes! He looked just like Evan. That must have been what started Michael's memories coming back in the first place! It was like he had another chance to save his brother! But now…

The bear shut his eyes tightly in anger…and horror. "YOU MONSTER!" he cried, "WHY DO YOU ALWAYS DO THIS?!"

The withered murderer responded by ripping Freddy's ear off, without hesitation.

"I should say that's my line!" he growled. "Even when you would help me, it was one failure after another. But you got cocky, my boy! You thought you could use that to your advantage and go against me. Look at you now! And still you've deluded yourself into thinking you could save one miserable child and stop my plans, not even knowing what they are…Well you've failed at that too, and you'll get to see just how badly. Tonight, that boy will die, and once again, you shall have a front row seat to the carnage."

Freddy felt he could cry again, not just from the pain of being damaged, but also at another failure. Another life lost. Another victory for his sadistic father. But no tears came, because he no longer had the strength to let them flow.

"There is some time before then, though," William continued. "Vanny has some special plans for his slaughter, so it will take some time to get ready. For now, then, I say…a little preshow is in order."

He stepped back and Monty and Baby eyed Freddy like lions over a fresh kill, their eyes glowing purple again.

"Now," said William. "Be a dear…and give Monty his claws back."

The alligator in question then roughly grabber Freddy's hand and began pulling on his finger, laughing wildly. Freddy clenched his teeth in pain. It was just like his father to rub salt in the wound. How much longer would he have to suffer under his thumb. 'Not Gregory,' he prayed silently 'Please not Gregory!'

Regarding Gregory, he was just waking up from his third drugging this week, feeling worse from the effects of this one than any of the previous times. He felt as if he were going to vomit. It didn't help that he could tell he was in a chair again, high off the floor. In his groggy state he had hoped he wasn't tied up again…but that hope was dashed when he realized his hands were behind his back. Plus, from his slight wiggling, he could feel that it was a zip-tie restraining him again rather than rope. No easy escape. Great.

He wondered, as he had often done that week, just how he got himself into these messes, but he was jolted from his thoughts when he heard a high-pitched voice struggling. Instantly forgetting his fear, his annoyance, and his nausea, he bolted upright in his chair to see Fifi lying in front of him, restrained on another metal slab and once again trying to wiggle her way out. She herself halted when she realized the boy was looking at her.

"G-Gregory!" she croaked out, straining to face him. "Please tell me you're okay!"

He began to look around frantically. "I-I'm fine but…is Vanny still here?"

"I don't know where that lunatic went! She tried to shut me down, but then I bit her hand and she rammed me into the wall and knocked me out! I just woke up! Ugh, if I get my hands on her, I'm gonna tear off her…oh."

Gregory could only infer one thing from Fifi's sudden change of expression, and the way she was looking past him.

"She's right behind me, isn't she?" he deadpanned.

Felt covered hand clamped his shoulders from behind in response. Gregory's head instantly began throbbing as the bulging eyes of Vanny's mask leered over him. He closed his eyes tightly and turned his head away as much as he could.

"What's the matter, Gregory?" the crazed bunny taunted. "It seems like you're just having quite the rough night, hahaha. Well, it's been a rough night for us all week, thanks to you, so what's wrong with a bit of retribution?"

"I hate you so much!" the boy hissed through gritted teeth.

Vanny laughed at his comeback jovially. "You just have no sympathy, do you, you little ankle-biter? Just look at me! I'm injured and the first thing you do is insult me. A pity your parents didn't seem to teach you any manners before they croaked."

She pointedly stepped in front of him during this to show off the exposed endoskeleton under her flesh.

"NO ONE ASKED YOU!" he bit back passionately. Then, moving his legs around, he noticed his pockets were empty. "What'd you do with my stuff?"

"You mean you didn't see it right here?" She gestured to a table beside Fifi, then lifted up the Fazerblast with a chuckle. "I don't think you should be playing with this one. Didn't you hear the disclaimer when you got this thing about not shooting it in people's eyes? Not the kind of thing a kid like you should have around."

"Don't you act like you won't do worse with it! You don't have a right to take that from me!"

"Ooooh! You've never had any discipline at all, have you? I'm shocked! I thought for sure Vanessa would have had to confiscate one of your little toys by now. She never let me have any freedoms! Why should you have any? Or maybe, she's deluded you into thinking she actually cares? Oh…That's just like her.

At this point, Gregory would have thought he was screwed, but he did think ahead slightly. While he was pouring out ice cream, he hid the pocket knife Vanessa gave him under his shoulder brace, just because his pockets were getting fuller than anticipated, and a lean back in his chair after Vanny gave this speech confirmed it was still there. Now he just had to slip it out, cut himself loose and look for the right moment to escape. He wasn't about to let this psycho have her way with him…or with Fifi.

He looked upon her with distain. "You think she doesn't care? Then why'd she let me come here knowing the dangers? Knowing that you and Afton would come after me at the first chance you got? I'll tell you why…she believes me. I don't know how or why, but she does. Even though she didn't want me to come at first, I told her I wanted to help, and she let me. Maybe I was just being thick-headed when I suggested that, but at least she listened to me. And for some reason she thought I could help too. No one's ever trusted me like that. So don't you tell me she doesn't care. I know she does. She proved it last night, and tonight."

Fifi was completely still as she heard her friend speak. She wondered how she had grown to admire one kid so much in such a short amount of time. She prayed that nothing would happen to him.

"Is that right?" Vanny asked in mock curiosity. "How?"

Gregory smirked as he slightly moved in his chair, just enough to release his knife from his shoulder brace and into his hands, his captor none the wiser.

"I won't tell you that," he stated softly. "Like I said, you don't have a right. Vanessa told me all about you, you know. Of course you didn't have any freedoms, because she made you to get Afton out of her head. I wasn't a bit surprised seeing your endoskeleton. I know exactly what you are."

Vanny took a beat then began to laugh wildly. "Do you really? From what you just told me, it sounds like she left something out. Maybe she doesn't trust you as much as you think she does."

The boy cocked his head skeptically. "What are you talking about."

She stepped back so both he and an extremely confused Fifi could have a clear view of her.

"Maybe you know what I am, but…do you know who I am?"

Then slowly, she raised her hands and, for the first time, lifted the bunny mask off of her head, and when her captors saw what was underneath, they were utterly flabbergasted. Underneath that mask, unbelievably, was a face that both of them had become all too familiar with. The blonde hair. The tight face. The green eyes. They were looking right into the face of…Vanessa! But how?!

Another look at the injuries on her body confirmed that this was the replica and not the real deal, but similarities between the two of them were eerie. Gregory had his suspicions at the Pizzaplex that Vanessa and Vanny were the same person, but he certainly wasn't expecting this! He was still trying to process it when she looked at him with a smirk.

"W-W-What?!" he managed to squeak out. "Bu-But you—"

"That's what I thought," the madwoman grinned. "You keep forgetting that she had to keep secrets as part of this company, too. Well…allow me to explain. Mr. Afton was going to allow his daughter, Elizabeth, to inherit his name, because she was the only one at the time to understand his true vision. Of course, plans for that derailed the one time he took his eyes off her after not letting her play with her toys. He was able to bring her back with Remnant, though, but he felt he still needed a living heir. And his moronic firstborn, Michael, just wouldn't do.

"In, perhaps, a misguided attempt at finding an heir, he adopted Vanessa, solely based on the fact that she looked so much like Elizabeth. Perhaps he thought he could mold this child after his daughter to serve him, but unfortunately, his efforts proved futile due to this girl's strong will. Even years later, when he tried to hack her mind through a computer virus, she still wouldn't bend. But he saw the darkness in her heart, and he hid himself there, until she finally followed his orders to build me. For Mr. Afton, I am meant to be the superior version of Vanessa, and heir for him, without her shortcomings. So, in this state, it should be no surprise that we look exactly the same."

Gregory felt ready to throw up. 'Superior version?' Does Afton think everyone and everything in this world is just some product to be tinkered with? What vision does he have that replacing living things with mechanical parts would be justifiable? And does that mean…that Vanessa has been as much a target for Afton as he was?

"But stubborn woman that she is, Vanessa still tried to stop Afton's progress," Vanny continued. "She was only supposed to teach me how to act human, but she kept trying to control me. To drive me away from the very reason I'm here. It was Mr. Afton that brought me into this world and I owed him everything. But she kept saying that I needed to get away from him. Try to forge my own path. How am I supposed to do that? So, I played her little game until I finally broke free. And I did my best to bring him back here for what he did to me, but you had to go and ruin it! She got to you before I could, and now you can't just be a good little brat and obey orders! Oh…I hate her so much."

Now, Gregory was mad. "So, you want to kill her because she wanted you to have free will? To make your own decisions rather than have some psycho make them for you?!"

"You don't get it!" Vanny called out again. "I'm a machine! I'm not supposed to have that! All these thoughts I have since I became aware of my state. It's torture having to sift through all of them…but his vision. I won't have to think anymore if it comes to fruition. I'll just be, and I won't have to care about anything. I won't get that if I do what Vanessa wants. I'm not a human and I don't want to be!"

At this point, Gregory had already opened the knife and was trying to put it in position to cut. At this point he knew Vanny was irredeemable. There was nothing that could be done for her except to stop her and stop Afton, but he needed to get out first. He kept looking around, but the room was clear other than his chair, the table, and Fifi's restraint.

"…Well," Vanessa's doppelganger continued, "I'll say it feels nice to have that off my chest, but now it's time to finish your part of the deal. A pity you had to do this to me, or I'd have trick you into thinking I was Vanessa. However, I think I've got the best way to deal with you right…here."

She ominously turned toward Fifi and slowly walked toward her, eyes shining purple.

"W-What are you doing?" the mouse asked, her voice quivering. But she got no response as Vanny walked to the table next to her and picked up, to Gregory's horror, the flash drive with the antivirus.

"Thought you could snag another one from our ranks, did you?" the madwoman taunted. Then she threw the drive down on the ground and crushed it with her foot.

"Think again," she continued. "In fact, I think I'm going to add a new member to replace the one you took away."

She walked behind Fifi as she said this, and the captive animatronic immediately tensed. Gregory quickly leaned in as far as his bound arms would allow him to.

"Get away from her!" he warned.

"Why?" Vanny challenged. "This is better than I could have asked for! A cocky little rugrat being destroyed by the very thing he thought he could help! It's almost Shakespearean! And this time, I won't do things gradually like I did at the Pizzaplex…No. I should have known from the beginning that the full brunt of our virus from the beginning would be much more effective."

She raised a hand above her captive's head as she continued. "You may have been a reject at first, Fifi…but I think we can make you a great asset for us."

The mouse looked up terrified. "Wha-What are you talking abou—"

"There are things about you that you have no idea of, child. Things that have to be hidden until just the right moment…but I think you have a sense of this, don't you? I've seen you this past week. You're slowly starting to become what we want already. That anger you keep feeling. Haven't you thought about why that keeps happening?"

Fifi was shaken to the core. What did this lunatic mean? What had she seen to make her think…Monty. She thought back to what happened to Monty last night. Could that have been...? Oh no!"

Vanny laughed as her captive laid in stunned silence. "Don't worry though. Soon enough, that anger…will be all you feel."

Then she grasped Fifi's forehead in an iron grip, and her victim began screaming and convulsing wildly. It was clear that this was the worst thing Fifi ever had to experience, feeling Afton's virus course through her system as quickly as possible. She kept screaming and begged for it to stop, but it didn't let up for even a moment. Vanny kept the grip on her forehead, a smile on her face as she watched the suffering before her, and at one point, either from overconfidence or sheer-enjoyment she even released the restraints and allowed her captive to convulse even more violently.

This was the straw that broke the camel's back. Gregory knew right then, he had enough. No more playing Vanny's game. No more planning an escape. He wasn't even thinking about catching Chica anymore. He was not about to let anyone turn his friend into a killer! Struggling through his restrains, and his bad shoulder, he finally got the knife in the right position, and after sawing away for just ten more seconds, he broke free. And when he did, he jumped up into the seat of the chair and threw himself full force at Vanny.

His impact caused her to lose her grip on Fifi, causing her to fall to the ground. There was a struggle for a few more seconds, but Gregory shifted enough weight on his captor to send her tumbling backwards, breaking down the door. He was now on top of Vanny as she lay on her back, he quickly tried to grab the Fazerblaster, which she was still holding, but she maintained her grip and they both fought for it with all their might. Eventually, the struggle led to the laser gun being twisted around sideways, until with one final shove, Gregory twisted it around to Vanny's face and fired a single shot.

Amazingly when he did, she released her grip and began to convulse. After a second to thank heaven that that worked, Gregory then completely unloaded the Fazerblaster's full charge, each shot landing squarely in the evil doppelganger's eye. After one more violent seizure, Vanny finally stopped moving, and the boy knew she was down for the count…for now. He stood back up and looked down on her with distain. For once, he had finally triumphed over her, but he knew he didn't have time to celebrate. She could still reboot at any time.

A quick look behind him confirmed that Fifi was getting back up. It was definitely time to go. He quickly ran over to the table and grabbed his flashlight.

"We're not gonna have too much more time," he said. "I say we just find the others and get the heck out of here."

Gregory went to run out the door, but stopped dead in his tracks when he didn't hear a response from Fifi. He looked back again and she was still standing in her spot with his back to him. She seemed to be breathing heavily.

"Fifi, come on! She could get back up any minute!" he pressed.

Still no response.

He stepped back in slightly. "Fifi, are you okay?"

Still nothing.

"Fifi?"

Her breathing then gave way to a low growl. Now Gregory was getting worried. Then he watched as her body began to twitch in an unnatural manner at each of her joints. Quickly, the casing covering the joints separated itself, and the endoskeleton inside seemed to lengthen slightly, causing about a foot of increase in her height. Gregory stepped back as her growling grew louder, and watched as the fingernails on her hands grew into long, black, metallic claws.

"…Fifi…" he squeaked out, beginning to panic.

Her growling growing louder, her ears bend back like a lion about to attack, and she slightly turned around, revealing a scowl on her face, showing rows of sharp metallic teeth, not unlike the 'Nightmare' animatronics. But the thing that confirmed the worst…her normally pink eyes were now glowing in that dreaded shade of purple.

Gregory shook his head and muttered in denial. He didn't want to believe his worst fear had actually happened. He had gotten close to someone for the first time in so long, and he lost them. Just like his parents. Why does this always have to happen to him? Always!

After another moment, Fifi spun around fully and let out a roar that seemed to shake the building, her mouth revealing rows of those dreaded teeth.

"NOOOOO!" Gregory called out.

He turned away and ran. What else could he do? He was now being chased by one of his best friends, and there was no one else around who could help. He felt like he was back on the streets all over again. What was he going to do? What could he do? For once, he had no idea.

A/N What? Did you think I was going to let Fifi off easy just because she's my OC? I don't think so. If any of you caught the foreshadowing at this in earlier chapters, you've got brownie points in my book. My goal with her was to make a character that would fit extremely well in the world of Five Nights at Freddy's, and when was an animatronic in this series ever made with the best intentions? Speaking of which, I hope you also like my take on the whole "Vanessa is Vanny" theory. I did like that theory myself, but I felt there was some issues with it, so I tweaked it a bit for this story. You also have brownie points if you realized this was where it would go when I posted the first chapter. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it and please leave a review if you can. I'll try to post more regularly now, so please keep an eye out. See you soon.
