I don't own Fate/Grand Order or it's related fandoms and characters. The same applies to any other fictional work(s) that may be referenced. And be warned that some non-OC characters might be OOC.

You were warned!

Now, on with the story!

Chapter 4

The villagers were pretty welcoming when we arrived, though that was to be expected as Musashi had been been helping them deal with their monster problem for a while now.

It was a pretty novel experience for me to just be so warmly welcomed when entering a place filled with only strangers though, at least ones who didn't seem to have other intentions.

Unlike those pushy marketing people, but I'm losing my track here.

After greeting a lot of people, including some running kids that almost threw themselves at her, Musashi dragged me to the nearest inn to fill her black hole of a stomach.

I didn't even know someone could eat that much.

I myself ate more then usual, which is no surprise considering all the physical activities I had been doing since I arrived just to survive, but even then, it was still a reasonable amount, just a big plate of food with lots of meat.

Musashi, however, had a veritable mountain of food served to her, and from what the waitress said, more were on the way.

I was both impressed and terrified at the woman's appetite.

"You weren't kidding when you said you were starving, huh?"

"Hah! It's not my fault they make such awesome food here!" Musashi defended herself while patting her belly after she finished eating "But what were we talking about again? I was too distracted by the food."

I resisted the urge to facepalm.

"About the recent increase in the attacks by demonic beasts."

"Right! The people here are actually used to dealing with those things, but normally, their numbers are much lesser, and they can only be found by braving into the depths of the forest. According to the people I asked, it would be uncommon for a village in these parts to be attacked more then once every few months, but since I arrived here a week ago, there has already been 4 attacks, including the one from today, and every time they seem to appear in larger numbers. Not only that, but other types of monsters have appeared as well. While the situation isn't dire yet…"

"If whatever is causing this isn't stopped, these people will get hurt, right?"

She nodded at me, looking subdued for once.

"Usually, I don't involve myself too much with the problems of other people, as I have my own to worry about, but I couldn't just leave them to their fates, you know."

That made me pause.

"Wait, but then…" before I could question her about that statement, a little girl appeared, and started bombing the swordswoman with questions.

"Miss Musashi, you finally came back! Did you kill all the monsters?" She asked looking at my companion with starry eyes.

"They were all dealt with, yes! But I didn't kill all nine, one of them escaped, and then…" The pink haired woman started excitedly retelling the events that transpired to the little girl, who gave her all her attention. "…and after that, I decided to make this pretty boy-I mean, young man my disciple, and brought him here." Wait, what was that last part? Why was she blushing? And…is she drooling?

"Wow, that sounds so romantic!" I choked at that, and Musashi started stuttering in denial, while blushing profusely.

This was going to be one of those days.

"It was really nice of the inn's owner to give me lodging for free as well, but…"

"But?" Musashi looked at me in confusion.

"WHY ARE WE IN THE SAME ROOM? Isn't that considered improper here?" I whispered at her, so as to not wake up anyone.

"You are my student, so of course you have to sleep on the same room as me! Otherwise, how would I make sure you are not frolicking with the village girls during the night?"

"Do I look like the sort of person that does that?" I asked her exasperated.

"No, you look like the kind of person who would be easily fooled by the girls into letting them enter your room, and the kind that wouldn't be able to say no to their advances."

"…That is surprisingly accurate, actually." My brother HAD to stop me from following strange ladies offering candies many times, after all. "But there weren't any girls looking interested in trying that, right?"

The look she gave me made me feel really stupid.

"Alright, even if I give in to the whole sharing one room thing…why only one bed?"

"…" She started scratching the back of her neck at that "…I forgot to ask for another one."

And now was too late to ask him for another one.

I couldn't help but sigh.

"Okay, which side of the bed do you want?"

Well at least the bed was quite big, surprisingly so, as a matter of fact. So the worst that could happen was her stealing my side of the blanket, right?

I regretted tempting fate when I woke up the next day with her hugging my face very tightly in her sleep, giving me no chance to escape.

This was going to be one of those weeks.

So yeah, if it wasn't obvious already, there will be some Jacob x Musashi in the story. Don't worry though, I won't write any smut for this story. And in case you wanted this story to really make do with some heavy bed action, I'm sorry to disappoint, but it won't happen. Probably. I might allude to the fact that the deal was done, but I won't elaborate beyond the initial kissing moments, And even that is some ways from happening, for now just classic protagonist shenanigans.

Now for a bit of description of the village, think of a traditional Japanese one when thinking about architecture, but mixed with some European in the culture, like a bed instead of a mattress to sleep.

Also, it might be worth mentioning that the reason why Jacob still eats like a normal person is because of his lack of a Master, and he replenishes his magical reserves by eating the food rich in magical energy from that World. And unlike certain kings of certain isles, as his mana reserve is really low, and there is still a lot of Magical Energy in the air of that World, he doesn't need to eat anywhere near as much.

Hope you guys enjoyed.
